Cannot copy folders from drive to drive

When I try to copy a folder with what be it during a concert, nothing DON'T get PAST!  It does copy not or anything.  Windows is right here _.  I have copy on a terabyte drive to drive, why the <---->can not copy my files?  I never had something like this happens.  Both drives are NTFS... what gives?

In case someone is still looking for an answer (and doesn't want to install a 3rd party app), powershell will do (and it's already installed in Windows 7).  It's great for things like that, then I would say that anyone do anything even slightly advanced (search and replace, copies, etc.) take a look.

To make copies of mass, open powershell (start-> run-> powershell )

Type: Copy-Item -* - recurse

For example, to copy all folder to your backup local folder dev dev server (which is sort of what I was just... a hacky version control for now)

Copy-Item \\backupserver\dev\* c:\dev\-recurse

Good luck

  • Cannot copy images from any type of disc. ??

Cannot copy pictures on any type of disc. the computer behaves as if she is unable to format the drive? I thought that this was done automatically.

    Hello

    ·        What is the exact error that you are experiencing when you try to burn the disk?

    ·        Outside photos, you are able to burn other files on the disk?

    ·        You use any burning software to burn the photos to disk?

Note: Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

I suggest to format the drive and check if you are able to burn discs or not. Follow the steps mentioned below.

    a. be aware that Windows XP, in its native form, does not directly support CD formatting. Formatting a CD requires support for the ISO images that is missing from Windows XP.

    b. download or buy CD and formatting of third-party burning software. Third-party CD utilities include features like CD burning, imaging of CD and the CD put fit.

    c. install the third-party software, following specific instructions in accordance with the software documentation. Many programs will require you to restart Windows to complete the installation. Close all other applications and do it.

    d. place the disk you want to format in the drawer. Make sure that it is in the drawer of CD - R or CD - R/W and not another tray (tray of DVD) or a simple CD player.

    e. start the third-party application and follow the instructions on the screen as they appear. Choose the "Format CD" option on the file menu, or choose 'Create a new CD.' This application controls tend to vary an application to, so be sure to check the documentation.

    f. don't forget to leave the CD in the taskbar until the process is completely finished. If you remove the CD before the completion of the formatting, you will ruin the disc.

    g. give a volume name to your new CD.

I also suggest you to check the article mentioned below.

  • Cannot copy files from a USB USB Kingston on WD external hard drive

When I try to copy large groups of a Kingston DT101 (32 GB Tumbdrive) files on an external hard drive WD (WD3200MLSP: 32 GB) the computer does nothing and there is no "Copy" dialog box I've uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers but it does not work. However, when I copy only the sections of the USB hard disk, then copy works. I use the Ctrl + C to copy the files and the light on the USB flashes on then off. Then, when I navigate to the folder on the hard drive and I press Ctrl + V to paste the files, the light on the USB key turns on and remains lit. However, the lights on the hard drive WD do nothing.

It depends on the size of the file.

It files are 4GBs or more and the player is formatterd to FAT32, it will not transfer due to limitations of size of FAT32 file transfer...

    See you soon.

  • Cannot copy files from the old hard drive to new

Original title: crash and recovery of hard drive problem

My hard drive crashed it wouldn't boot saying config.sys is damaged or corrupted, I tried to fix it but the sector is damaged. I was using XP, I had a password on my settings. I installed a new hard drive and reinstalled windows XP, but even if I can 'see' the old hard drive (always installed) I can't access my documents, how can I get to them? I know the password but since its an account on another drive it won't give me the chance to log on to the account.

  • The VM cannot copy files from a network share on the host

I get the error "unable to copy xyz123: cannot read from the source file or disk.» When you try to copy a file to a shared folder.

    • The shared folder is located on the machine called VM-SERVER, which runs in Workstation 6.0.4. The folder is shared with everyone having full control. Security settings say that DOMAIN\Domain users also have complete control.

    • Any user who connects to any guest VM on VM-SERVER, which is the host of all the VMS in the Organization, can not access the file for copying, although registration to the directory is there (although slow to come). If the same user connects to any other computer on the network, any computer of VM-no-prompt, then he can access the files on the share on VM-SERVER with no problems.

    • VM' are the guest all configured with Bridged networking like they serve other users on the network. I disable the VMWare adapters. I insert the DisableDos key with a value of 1 as indicated by the FAQ, I restart the VM host operating system and the virtual computer guests.

    • VM-SERVER running Windows Server 2003 R2 x 64. It has 2 1 TB SATA drives, and the action in question is physically located on the D: drive.

    • The VM guest OS are XP Sp3, Vista Sp1, Windows Server 2003 R2 x 32 Business.

    • None of these comments VM are able to access the contents of the files on the share on VM-SERVER.

    • All computer virtual guests are able to access shares located on another server, the primary domain controller of the network that is running Windows Server 2003 R2 x 32.

Accordingly, I'm worried because the concept of the virtual computer for critical business was my decision and up to the exception of this scenario (and a recently resolved USB printing problem) it went well. Unfortunately even a mess can stop production.

Note that I have read the FAQ and tried the suggestions that seemed to apply.  I also looked in the forums and haven't seen a specific question/answer.  If there is an answer out there and you read this point please make me, orperhaps you have another suggestion?  I am open to all theories and possible solutions.

  • Cannot copy books from library for Sony PRS-350 on 2nd computer

I was migrating to a new computer, and today I had the intention to move the administration of my e-reader from Sony PRS-350 to the new system. I installed Sony Reader (the appropriate previous version that comes with the 350) and Adobe Digital Editions. All authorized two very well with the same id as the old system. The said drive it is authorized as well when I check on ADE.

On the new computer, I have ADE 2.0, and it allowed me to download and read books from the library on the computer, but when I go to transfer items to the player, it gives me this error:

CE_COPY_NOT_ALLOWED - without permission to copy the book

All these books were downloaded as a system library overdrive epub in ADE, as I have done all along.

Because I wanted to be able to read these books, I went was pushing the old system and re-downloaded books from the library to this version of ADE (it does give me a version number, but it has a black background and I installed it there is not enough 2 years), and as expected, I was able to transfer the items to the player perfectly.

More info: both computers run win7 64 bit and are based on intel. Please let me know if there are other details that might be useful.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? I found this topic covered, or maybe I missed it. Any constructive help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

ADE2.0 does not work with the Sony PRS-350 (and many other ereaders);  especially with the Overdrive library books.

There are different solutions, but the simplest solution is to install the most reliable ADE 1.7.2.

Version 1.7.2, is a little hard to find, available on the website of Adobe for Windows and for Mac.

  • Cannot copy text from iBooks?

    Hi guys,.

So, I'm currently learning Swift using the Swift Programming Language 2.2 of iBooks. However, it won't let me copy the text I want to run the code from the book to test inside. I could write this code myself but there are a few sections that I'd rather not.

Anyone know why this is happening? In the past I was able to copy the text of the book, but now it is not letting me (it is grayed out).

  • Cannot copy files from a corrupted on a new user acct

For some reason my user account was in sashes. I wasn't able to access the system restore. I did a restore and it allowed me to create new user accounts that my old files were still on the drive under the old user acct, I am not able to copy on. I tried to use the procedure described in article 811151 but the old user account folder is not accessible (access denied). I tried to change the permissions under safe mode, but that makes no difference. Any ideas?

Article Microsoft KB811151 will not work as described if you reinstall as you.  The problem you have now is one of the owner.  The following article should allow you to adapt your old files and a directory and to regain access:

  • Cannot copy files from USB key!

I have a picture of game size 4.17 GB. When I was trying to transfer it to my USB drive (16 GB), it displays message that the drive is full, so that only 8 KB was filled. I tried to copy another image of the game, but the same thing happened. Other files and songs, movies can be easily transferred but not game footage. Help, please!

Pendrives are usually formatted in FAT32. FAT32 is limited to files under 4 GB. This is probably your problem.
