Cannot delete network homegroup sharing

OK, so it's kinda an interesting question!

I have set up a homegroup between 2 computers, a Media Center machine and a laptop.

On the Media Center machine, I shared a number of records.  These files were shared in two different ways.  Some while allowing sharing (right click, properties, advanced sharing, share this folder), but it has been shared by selecting share with homegroup (read).

Everything was great (if messy!)!  But then I decided that with an upgrade to the machine I untangle all sharing and do it correctly by adding files to libraries and shared libraries.  During the upgrade, I installed a new hard drive and I changed the drive letter for the drive where all actions were located (beginning of the problem).

None of the actions now work (although they do not appear on the laptop and in the network section of the Explorer on the media center).  Unfortunately, I found that I could not remove actions!  Right click on a share in the area of the network of the Explorer (on the media center), properties, advanced sharing and by disabling the action results in an error dialog when you click OK, because windows can not find!  The only way I got it was round to recreate the dummy files with the same names as before so that windows can 'find' and then remove the share.  This problem has been compounded by the fact that you can't 'see' where the hand actually points to.

In any case, after a bit of work it solved all the shares outside the residential group.  Because it exists only in the homegroup to explore section (for some reason any not in Network Explorer - I do not know why) I can't right click and share it.  If I create a new folder with the same name in the old location and share it, it creates an additional share, and BOTH list the contents of this folder.  But if I cancel it then only the part newly created disappears.

I guess that windows must maintain a list of stocks homegroup somewhere.  I searched the registry with the name of the folder, but I don't find anything (I think - it has references, but I think that these search indexes).  If someone could give me an idea what to do or where search I would really appreciate (I have been at this for a few days now!).

This shouldn't be too difficult. Try this:
1 boot safe mode with networking.
2. log on as an administrator.
3. click on start.
4. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
5. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
6. click on "run as Administrator".
7. type the following commands:
net share
This command shows you the names of all the actions that you created.
net share "users" /d
This command removes the 'Users' share (which was created automatically by the homegroup)
Continue like this until you have removed all the unwanted shares.

  • My computer is on a network, but Windows 7 (Pro x 64) shows that it is not. Cannot change network location to home. Cannot use the homegroup.

I'm putting my network (with homegroup) home, but when I go into control panel > network and Internet > homegroup, it says:

"This computer cannot connect to a homegroup." Then,

"To create or join a homegroup, network location of your computer must be on home."

Okay so. I go to network and sharing Center and click on "connect to a network" and I get a box in the lower right corner that says "no connection available.

I find that strange, because when I click on 'My Computer', I see in the left pane all the computers in my house under 'Network'... so I'm in network... but I'm not?

It is a problem because until I am able to add this computer, I am unable to share the data on this computer and it is my office alone AND the pc is connected to my router.

I can not access my storage drive. I can't stream media.

    Hello

Check the Device Manager for the entry of valid card of the wire.

    http://www.ezlan.NET/Win7/net_dm.jpg

If there is no valid entry, remove any entry from fake and re - install the drivers for the wireless card.

Check network connections to make sure that you have a Local Area Connection icon/entry, and that the properties of the icon (right-click on the icon) are correctly configured with the TCP/IPv4 protocol in the properties of network connections.

Connect you to the menu of the router from a work computer and make sure DHCP is on, and it is configured to assign IPs which can cover the number of computers that are connected (a bit more will be even better).

Turn off the computer and the router, reset the router and the computer.

Right-click on the wireless network connection card, select status, details and see if she got an IP address and the rest of the settings.

  • Cannot change network type in Windows 8

How can I change a network or private so that file sharing is allowed? I thought that you could click on it from pop to subwindow network on the right side of the screen, but only my physical network connection is listed.

    More details:

I have a physical Ethernet connection which is defined as a private network. Sharing files and any other communication on my LAN works fine. I also have a virtual connection through LogMeIn Hamachi which is defined as a public network. I can't find a way to change this. How to change network type in Windows 7 does not work in Windows 8.

Once, I was able to change the type of Ethernet from the public to the private network by selecting that I wanted to turn on sharing. Although now I cannot access the menu to change that pop on the pane by clicking on the icon of simple network. I was also able to do it once with the Hamachi network, but only the physical card network seemed to save the change after a while. At a time the network Hamachi was not identified, but he has switched back to show as a public network. That's if everything goes though temporary and can be another problem together.

I don't want to make an exception in my firewall, or make registry changes that specify all unidentified networks are established privately (two suggestions I found on the web so far).

So it took me a while to find this also, I fixed it by searching for troubleshooting as suggested above. In troubleshooting search box (top right) type homegroup, and then select the resolution of the problems of the residential group, even if you're not using home group, part of the diagnosis allows you to change the type of network from public to private/home, I jumped the diagnostic network also step and allowed me to very easily change the type of network.

  • reconnect the stall network of shared network variables

I have a cRIO unit communicates with a laptop using shared network Variables, one of them being a table of 21 index which is buffered.

The system connects and communicates very well, but sometimes the wireless laptop card is to lose the signal from the WAP, attached to the cRIO.

In this case the network never shared Variables "reconnect" and start to receive values still once the wireless link is restored.  Is this expected behavior?

When I tried to use other WAP industry instead of the card laptop wireless, I get no abandonment.

    Hello Ryan,

Please contact National Instruments!  I looked into the problem you are having and I wanted to ask you a few questions more.  First of all, you have a period of time which allows the reconnection?  I believe that the Shared Variables should find the connection after a short period, but it may not be a very quick process.  It may take a few minutes to the Variables shared to reconnect.

The other thing that could happen is if you have error son being passed by shared Variables, it is possible that the error is not be deleted, and so he will always see the error and not a so never reconnect.  In this case, you will need to filter this error and then clear the error in order to use again shared variables.

If you have more specific information about your program that can help us to determine the reason for this behavior.  As a screenshot of your code would be useful.  Please let me know if you have any other questions and I'll be happy to help you.  I hope this helps!

  • Cannot delete files from the Recycle Bin

    Hello

I'm unable to access my trash, everythime I click on the folder, it says windows Explorer has a problem, then said restarting windows.

And the window just closes, it is there anyway to delete the files from the trash bin other than to go to the folder it self.

    See you soon

    Serrano

Here is an article on how to repair a trash corrupted in Vista: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/131294-recycle-bin-corrupted-cannot-delete-file-folder.html.

It restarts if you left or do a right-click on the icon or both?  Here are a few ways to empty it by using two methods:

    1. On the desktop, right-click on the Recycle Bin.
    2. Then click the Empty trash to empty its contents.
    3. You will be asked if you are sure that before it permanently deletes the files.
    4. If you're absolutely sure, then click Yes to clear the contents of the Recycle Bin.
    5. Alternatively, you can double-click the Recycle Bin to open and examine its contents.
    6. And then on the file menu, click empty the Recycle Bin.
    7. After confirmation, Windows Vista will be empty all files from the Recycle Bin.

Go to control panel / customization / Desktop Icons and remove the trash, click OK and close.  Then go back and add the trash.  See if the new basket has the same problem.

Here is a program that you download that adds a command to empty the trash to the command line if all that you need to do is type of the command in the box search now and it will happen. http://itsvista.com/2007/01/itsvista-tip-23-empty-vistas-recycle-bin-from-the-command-line/.

    I hope this helps.

  • Cannot delete a file 'empty '.

I recently downloaded a file and thought I had deleted. However, I managed to create a 0 byte file that appears on my desktop, appears in the file dir / x of order invites and still cannot be moved, renamed, or deleted. Windows reports, "failed to find this article. It is no longer in... ».

My problem is similar to the "cannot delete illustrates file listed in the file Explorer Vista - does not exist?" thread. I tried several of the steps used in this situation, as the use of a third party file removal tool (KillBox) and also get into the command prompt and try Rd (filename) to remove. I also tried to use e/s (filename), but he kept reporting that "the directory name is incorrect.

This file is also not protected, and I am logged on as administrator. Any thoughts?

  • Profile deleted network-, but my computer thinks it still exists and I can't connect to the network at all.

I had problems connecting to my wireless home network.  It always gave me the error that the network stored on my computer (relevant for my home network) profile did not have the correct network settings.  I couldn't find a way to solve the problem, so I just deleted the profile, in the hope that in trying to reconnect, my computer would automatically detect the appropriate settings.

Now when I try to connect, I always gives me the same error (that the relevant profile has bad network settings) even if the profile has been deleted.  My computer asks me if I want to open the network profile to check its settings.  If I hit Yes, I gives me another error (because there is in fact no longer the profile).

I'm running Vista Basic and I have problems connecting to other networks (without thread or hard line).

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you-

    Hello

First of all, make sure that if there's Wireless Utility a utility vendor is not running with the native Windows wireless utility.

Also, make sure firewall No. preventing / blocks wireless components to join the network.

Look at the wireless management screen, and then remove the entry from your wireless network.

http://www.ezlan.NET/Vista/wireless_manager.jpg (Control Panel, network and sharing Center. Upper-left click Manage wireless networks.

After the form of own connection, wireless tray bar icon.

Given that your wireless network is more in the preferred list, it will prompt for the password. Put the password that is current, and if all goes well it will connect.

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 running on Windows Vista, my router modem is a Motorola SURFboard SBG901. A few months ago on this computer, I couldn't see that I was connected online either from right down icon in my taskbar (it shows just two monitors with an 'x', that when you highlight on he says "not connected, you are currently not connected to any network.")  I don't see it on my network and sharing Center which States: "not connected wireless connections are available." If I go to connect to a wireless network, it shows that I'm connected to my network ready. I open one of my browsers and they all work very well, I can access any site without problem. I was not embarrassed with him at the time, but since then I moved into a new House and have a new service and everything, with this motorola modem cable. my new wireless network is a network unsecured, which of course, I want to fix it. Hello

I would like to ask you a few more things.
    1. how many network connections you have created?
    2. are there multiple NICs installed on the computer?

Since this is a common problem and many users have solved this problem by using different methods.

This can also occur if you frequently use several type of internet connections such as dial-up, Ethernet and LAN.

As the article below also indicates that there could be multiple reasons for the same.
The network adapter icon incorrectly displays a red "X" in the window management in Windows Vista network connections when the network adapter is connected
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/945925

    Method 1.
I ask you to remove any network connection if you have created and then check.

    Method 2.
For control please check in mode safe mode with Networking if the problem exists.
    Here's how:
    a. restart your computer.
    b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options.
    c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
    d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to boot mode safe mode of Windows 7 with networking.
    e. when Windows starts, use check and Internet explore if the problem persists.

  • try to print from my Win7 x 64 laptop over the network (homegroup or workgroup) to an enslaved Dell Photo AIO Printer 926

I'm trying to print from my Win7 x 64 laptop over the network (homegroup or workgroup) to an enslaved Dell Photo AIO Printer 926.  When I look for the computer on the laptop, I find, it seems to be fine, but when I print a job, the print job is in the queue on the laptop and does not send the job to the desktop printer.  I had it once before but a relocation removed.  I'm not sure why I see the desktop of my laptop printer but cannot get it working again.

    Any advice?  Thank you

You need the Windows7 x 64 drivers for the printer (and perhaps software and fimware) installed on your laptop to be able to print using the printer on another computer if he uses another operating system...  Maybe when you reinstalled you forgot to install these things.  Try this and see if you can then print.

  • Cannot delete a file in a folder that I can see his name in the list of directories

    Help

I can't delete a file that I can see in a folder and a list of directories of files.

The name of the file is "000" without visible extension.  Don't know if there is a hidden extension, but it isn't.

I went into the same folder using the "Command prompt" window

However, to enumerate the files in the command prompt window, the file name is not visible, but the forlder report indicates that there is a file whose size is 15 bytes.

The file is not readable in a normal DOS window or text editor, which means that a file such as 'Crimson Editor' Editor opens the file, but there is no visible ASCII character.

How can I delete this file?

It is a virus, and if so, how can I delete?

    Best regards, Roy
