Cannot find network shared printer

to change printers and now with vista laptop can't find shared printer (with xp) - no problem with gettng online

You guarantee that the file and printer sharing is enabled in xp and vista? Have you try mapping IP is either the computer/laptop by which the printer is connected to? Have BTW you installed the printer drivers? Under network and sharing Center check it out and see if you are able to see the two pc or laptop? Also make sure there there is no third-party firewall if, either set it up or have it uninstall

  • Can't add that a network shared printer HP laserjet 4 p to my new Windows 7 Enterprise edition.

When I ask W7 X 64 to search for printers on the network it detects the printer HP laserjet 4 p on my other XP pro machine, but then gives me an error message of not being able to find the driver file when I try to install.

When I go to HP site, it is said that W7 has the drivers via update, but there is no way I can see to get to them. The box that asks to find the file keeps suggesting my internet license with no option to search for updates. Any thoughts?

Either way, my machine is an Asus p6t deluxe V2 with a concert I-7 920 and 12 of ram. Vista does all this automatically. I took literally 5 seconds.

  • HP Photosmart C4580 cannot find network Verizon FIOS wireless

I already had my C4580 connected to my wireless network and then I moved and now I have Verizon FIOS and can not get the printer connected wireless!  It connects via USB, no problem.

Any help is appreciated, I spent 6-8 hours trying to solve the problems without result... :-(

    Facts to consider:

    Router:

    Verizon FIOS network

    MI424WR router model

    WPA

    No Mac filtering

    Printer:

    Wireless Network Test report

    Wireless On = PASS

    Work wireless = PASS

Found the network (SSID) name = FAIL

    Security = PASS

    Networks detected wireless = 4

    Computer:

    ThinkPad x 201

    Windows 7 64 bit

I tried to download and install the HP printing software that I found when searching support and each time it fails with a fatal error, uninstall the software and restart my laptop.  I turned off as much security as I can and retried (6-8 x) same error every time.

I think I need to run a wireless network on the printer config, but may not know how to do that when I can't download the software?

Please help, I am running out of patience.  I realize, it could be the router config, but I thought I would start here.

    Thank you

I was able to solve the problem using my wife's computer to run the HP software, change the network settings on the printer.

The main problem was that I couldn't install the software on my cell phone company (Cisco) to correctly configure the printer.  They must have controls in place that software HP must and cannot get the installation.

    Hey,.

I just got a new hard drive to use as a driver for my file sharing. It appears on the Panel of readers. but I am unable to connect. I can not find? Can I get help?

What is the make and model of this drive? I guess that you have connected it to AirPort Extreme USB... correct? What is the drive formatted as: HFS +, ExFAT, NTFS or something else?

The disc has been recognized on the tab of the AirPort disk utility? Have you activated (check) the "enable file sharing" option on this same tab?

I can't find in the properties of this printer HOW to print a test page. I was running out of ink black, and all color cartridges are rather recent and not on show at low levels. But, after replacing the black cartridge the first doc to test printed came out very uneven and unreadable.  There is no error message.  How in diagnostics on this printer to test the printing?  I tried not to print a doc of color (as photo) yet.

Can I update the driver?  Help, please.

    Hello

Test print page options under properties of the print driver for your device.

But I don't think that solv your problem.

You must print alignment and another test for correct print quality problems.

  • Cannot find network cards with Vista

    Hello

I have problems with my Dell Inspiron 1720 under Vista not recognizing one of my network cards. I checked that my modem and router work correctly (they are) but still my laptop will not pick up not my Belkin N1 router wireless signal or when I hard it wire as it says network adapters are not found. I had a series of reports of unusual message telling me that the 'State of dependency is unknown", and that I should try to restart the DCHP etc. I followed the instructions to the point where it says "Windows cannot fix this problem - contact your service administrator.

Did you check the status of your network adapters in the Device Manager? If they are disabled, try allowing them.

    Hello

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. From your problem description, I understand that you can not connect to Internet in safe mode with network. Please correct me that I misunderstood.

Please provide us with additional information by answering a few questions below, this will help us better solutions to the problems.

-Why are you trying to connect to Internet in safe mode with networking?

-Do you get any error code or error message?

I doubt that the choices you make in the options of safe mode takes you to the safe mode and the insecure with networking mode.

Please do the following and check if you are able to boot into safe mode with network.

    a. restart the computer and press the F8 key during reboot, until you get the Advanced startup options.

    b. in the boot advanced options, use the keyboard to select safe mode with network and press ENTER.

    c. This will start the computer in safe mode with network. Once the computer has been started, check if you are able to connect to the Internet.

    For reference:

Start your computer in safe mode

  • Windows cannot find network card until I reboot

    Hello

I noticed a few threads that are similar to my problem, but I have a recurring problem that is boring and not too disruptive. Everytime I turn on my computer Dell Inspiron desktop for the first time, every day, windows is unable to locate a network card is installed correctly.  When I check in the network device manager, there is nothing available. I then restart my machine, and then windows (64-bit 7) finds the suitable network and connect to my router etc, and all is well. When I check the Device Manager after the reboot, I see under network: Broadcom Netlink (TM) Gigabit Internet.  When I click on this and try to update the driver, reports of windows that it is up-to-date!
So, my problem happens whenever I start my computer, but never when I restart!
Any suggestions? As I don't want to start and restart my machine every day of her life!
    Thank you very much
    Mick

I suspect a hardware problem with the adapter.

You can try to uninstall the card in the Device Manager and then reboot and let Windows reinstall.

I'm using Labview 8.5.1 on windows XP 32-bit systems. Recently, I installed labview on a 64-bit XP system.  I feel what I think, problems of drivers on the 64-bit system, now. On a different computer, go to your computer manufacturers website, add the name of the template in the search bar of support page and download all the drivers.

Place it on a USB stick and install the drivers first network so that you can get online.

  • DMA2100 cannot find network

It is probably something easy. I just bought a DMA2100. I went through the routine of installation, including the configuration screen. When I get to network connection issues, choose wireless, then it goes in search for wireless networks screen - and crashes. No wireless networks are found, can not go backward or forward to the questioning, need to repower or reset the device again.

I have a router Netgear Wireless G with WPA2 encryption. The router is only 10 feet of the DMA. I also disabled the encryption for a bit to see if this can help, but it didn't. And there are other networks in the region where he would have to see also, but it didn't, just hangs.

    Any ideas or suggestions?

    Larry

As a final to this channel update, I found an ethernet cable just long enough for the DMA to the router. Then I went through the Setup routine using ethernet wired rather than wireless. Above all, I was hoping that some additional settings may be available or miracle.

What happened, was that she did almost immediately an update of the firmware online. I have reset the device after, disconnected from the ethernet, then crossed the wireless configuration. It is immediately found my wireless network and about 10 others in the region.

So I guess the firmware loaded with the device was somehow bad. Don't know how a wireless client can only update the firmware on this machine, but I got lucky.

  • driver problem sharing printer attached to the XP with Windows 7 pc client

Before submitting my question, I look into responses to something that would be useful. There were some similar issues, but neither the same as mine.

    I have a desktop pc XP/SP3 with a Canon IP4600 USB printer.

So far, I got a home network wired (through an ethernet switch) with another XP desktop PC 2, which the shared printer successfully.

Now, I replaced the ethernet switch with a wireless router that I have to also connect at least 1 laptop to network without cables more.

The laptop is running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit.

I successfully setup the network wireless router/Win7 so machine Win7 has access to the Web. I can also see the shared folders on the XP Win7 pc and can also see the IP4600 printer.

When I try to add the printer so that I can print in Win7, it fails because it has no driver. I do not have a Win7 driver for this printer on each machine, so I downloaded it from the Canon Website on the Win7 pc. This is a huge 55MB EXE file zipped (must be a bunch of other 'apps' there, too, may not only be a pilot). The "Add printer" procedure looking for one. File INF so he does not see this file downloaded to extract the driver. When I run the EXE file, it starts a procedure facility, which quickly fails and leaves because he "cannot find the printer" (because it is physically on the XP pc...).

Please help me get a Win7 driver installed. I need to print from the Win7 pc quite urgent...

    Thanks in advance.

Canon is making things difficult for you.  Hidden in the small print that describing 55MO download is as follows.

This software is a module that extends the functionality of the printer driver for Canon inkjet printers. Your printer must be installed through Microsoft Update before you download and use this module.

In other words, downloading isn't actually the driver.  It is an update of the driver.

I don't have my Win 7 computer pulled upward at the moment, but when you get to the part of the Add Printer Wizard when you specify the brand and model of the printer to select a driver, make sure you check the box at the bottom of the list to allow the search on Windows Update Wizard.  Well with XP, it was a bad idea to get drivers through Windows Update, it seems that many drivers, including printer drivers, do not appear on the install of Win 7 media but is available through Windows Update.

Another part of the process that I vaguely remember last time I installed a shared printer on a Win 7 box, is that if you select "add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer" the wizard cannot find the shared printer.  In this case, use the "Local printer" option and specify its address in the form \\computername\sharename (if there are spaces in the name, use double quotes around it).

    ******************************************
This is what I was referring in the last paragraph:

    5. install printers on a local network
If the printer is on a network, you may need to indicate to the Add Printer Wizard that you install a local printer, use LPT 1 as it is connected to the port and then change the port setting when the driver is installed. To change the port, go to the dialog box printers and devices, right click on the name of the printer, and then choose Properties from the printer (not to be confused with the properties). Select the Ports tab and the Add Port button. In most cases, you'll want to select Standard TCP/IP Port, click New Port, and then work your way through the rest of the screen of the wizard, enter the IP address of the printer in the corresponding dialog box.
