  I recently added Dell Dock. Shortcuts added were on the quay and on the desktop. When I tried to delete the desktop shortcuts, I received the following message:

  "Cannot find this article.
  It is no longer in the Office of C:\Users\Public\Public. Check the location of the item and try again. »

  I then deleted Dell Dock and now am stuck with 5 shortcuts on my desktop that are not going anywhere, not open to anything, and I can't remove.

  Try to remove these in safe mode shortcut icons. Follow the steps on how to start in safe mode.

  Note: Try to remove the icons from your account in case of connection failure to the account administrator in safe mode go the c:\users\username\desktop location and try to remove it from there.

  Another step you can try is to create a new user account in Control Panel > user accounts. Open a session in the new account go to c:\users\username\desktop location and try to delete from there.

  If this fails, you can try to remove these icons in the windows recovery environment starting from the DVD. Follow the steps below for the link below to start the recovery environment.

  After you boot from the DVD

  Step 1: Start in the screen Options of system recovery.

  Step 2: Click on the command line option.

  Step 3: Type notepad and press ENTER to open a Notepad. Press Ctrl + S, and it will open a save dialog box.

  Step 4: Click on computer, and it will open all your drives.

  Step 5: Go to the c:\users\username\desktop site and remove icons.

  I currently have a Norton Security Scan icon on my sidebar icon list.  I uninstalled the program, I don't know how she even had it installed since I have McAfee and Windows Defender, but the stupid icon won't go away.  I have tried right clicking 'delete', but it says that it cannot find the file, so it will not remove the icon. • Cannot delete the desktop icon: Network Magic?

  Running Windows 7 64-bit HP.  Network Magic is installed as a 30 day trial when I've upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 (why I've never waited so long?). I uninstalled by getting in pure Networks/Setup...etc; It's, I think I've done the proper uninstall. However, I can't get rid of his Network Magic Folders icon on my desktop. I can't even move the icon on the desktop. Right click gives: open and create a shortcut.  Selecting open doesn't do nothing, shortened by selecting creates a shortcut on the desktop that can be deleted. Suggestions?

  I got this file from my friend got sent - is a word document, I had on their computer.  So I tried to use Disk Cleanup to delete temporary files, temporary internet files and files program downloaded.  Does not work.

  When I check the properties, there is no security tab so I can't transfer ownership in this way.

  Hey bud, I figured out how fix it earlier. I am so happy. I came to remember a command called chkdsk which worked very well for various issues, that I had since the construction of my old 2000 Professional machine. I think that one was my first NTFS system. I always liked how well he error correction. Seemed a lot better than the old scandisk. Low and behold, I tried and star ANISE, it is went through it, found this file almost from the beginning of the analysis and a few lines later, he said has been removed. Says something about the file being orphaned some time ago. It was a very bad child, that I tell you. I ran it in safe mode command prompt.   I have several programs that when I go to security there is an unknown account and when I try to delete unknown account I get this message that you cannot delete the Unknown(S-1...) account because this object inherits from its parent perssions. To delete the Unknown(S-1...) account, you must prevent this object from inheriting permissions. Turn off the option for the inheritance of permissions and then try to delete the Unknown(S-1...) account again. I tried the edit and advance features in respect of security without success. Why have I not control over security permissions?

  Found a solution to this problem.

  Go to the folder parent of the folder that contains the files with this unknown account number:
  1. right click on the PARENT folder, and then click Properties.
  2. on the Security tab, go to the advanced options (bottom window)
  3. in the new window, click the button change the permissions in the bottom.
  4. Select the Group (NOT AUTHENTICATED, just of users USERS) users
  5. check "replace all permissions of child object with permissions inheritable of this object.
  6. click on the OK button or apply and done, fixed number.

  Hope this helps anyone else having this problem, for me it happened after reinstallation of win 7 on the same machine and keep my images on another partition, so it was spared by the new facility, so the old user account was always on the file permissions.

  From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.  Scroll down to the print spooler , made service right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

  Restart the computer and you should find that the documents have been deleted.

  I was able to fix this very weird error in fact goes here/home/itadm/u01/obiee/user_projects/domains/bifoundation_domain/config/fmwconfig

  Open the file system-jazn - data .xml

  And by removing the additional entry manually

  So I deleted the following

  weblogic.security.principal.WLSUserImpl rodneyc

  Then when I went back to EM the user had gone as planned. I'm guessing that something screwed up in this file, but all right
