• Cannot get wireless driver to install - how?

  I just bought a refurbished 2100(te?) tecra notebook and again, I have to get the wifi working. I have a yellow exclamation beside 'Network controller' in the Device Manager on XPSP1 pro. I downloaded what was labeled as a driver on the toshiba site, but when I try to install the windows driver responds with a message stating that the driver does not match my hardware and therefore won't let me install the driver. I also welcomed windows 'Search' for the driver via the internet, of course, it was without result. Please let me know if you have any ideas to solve this problem. Here's the info from the laptop:

  Serial number - 53015241SU
  Part number - PT210U-02D3L72
  1.8 GHZ P4, 1 GB DDR, RJ45 (10/100 NIC), RJ11 (modem), integrated 30 GB HD, DVD, wifi (Yes, it should be not only the switch and internal antenna) and other normal stuff.

  You later built in wireless card or wireless card has already been built by Toshiba? It is very important to know who is the producer of this wireless card, because different drivers are available for the various producers. Jeremy can you check this?

• Cannot get CameraRaw 8.7 installed in Windows 7 Lightroom 5

  Purchased a Canon 7 d Mark II to my wife for Christmas. Don't want her to be able to download the photos she takes, but can not get CameraRaw 8.7 to install.  I've updated to Lightroom 5.7.  Lightroom updated very well, but I downloaded the plugin installation package twice and every time it says it installs but then I can not always open raw images, I've tried.  I have a physical copy of Lightroom 5 not rent monthly one (I know if that matters).  The card does not appear in the master in the Manager section at all.  Lightroom has said that it is up-to-date.  Information system for 5.7 5.7 says just isn't and not 5.7.1 but clicking on update says I have the latest update installed.  Spent the last 2 hours doing cela...  Hoping that it is just something stupid on my part.

  OH, I'm a fool...  I'm not the photographer.  I can be the tech support person.  I just realized perhaps I should try to import photos instead of just double click on them and it worked.  Thanks for your help though.  Wish I could get the last 2 hours...  Time for a beer.  Cheers mate.

I was able to install Photoshop CS and Illustrator CS (after a few errors). But impossible to get InDesign to install. : Error could not complete the installation of disc. Need help.

  Johnheg can you try copying the contents of the disk on your desktop.  This will let us know if there is a failure in the installation media if you receive a disk error.

  After having picked up some malware on microtour DX7300 of my wife, I decided to reformat the disk and reinstall.  For years and do not have a copy of the diskette of HP recovery that was created when we arrived first of all the computer.

  I have a copy of Windows XP Pro, installed in such a way that very well.  Device Manager is reported the driver problems with a large part of the devices as ethernet controller, audio, video etc.  I guess I can install most of the people afterwards, except the network/ethernet because I need, obviously, to connect to the internet.  Would have hoped that these devices are plug n play, but apparently not.

  I used a Ubuntu LiveCD to connect to internet.  So I know the network interface hardware works, and even audio and video resolution were out of the LiveCD.

  Found the drivers on this site:

  Those downloaded across the network.  In reading the DX7300, it is clear to me if the network card is the Broadcomm one or Intel.  Rebooted WinXP, I tried installing the Intel driver, got an error message no Intel device not found.  So I guess that's the Broadcomm one.  This driver, installation actually installed.  However, even after a reboot the network device does not work and presents itself as an error in the Device Manager.

  Thought I'd try to manually install the drivers by pointing "drivers" unpacked in the directory of installation above.  Windows indicated that the correct drivers were not found there.

  I'm at one end.  The material seems to work under linux, but cannot get the win to install the drivers.  Advice or help appreciated.

  I installed Internet Explorer 8 and cannot get an internet connection using this program.  However, I get a connection very well when I surfed with Firefox.  I tried to disable the firewall and still no connectivity.  I am connected through a Netgear router with a hard line.  The signal is strong.  When I run a diagnostic on Internet Explorer, I get a message from the bed... WINDOWS CANNOT CONNECT TO THE INTERNET USING HTTP, HTTPS, OR FTP.  THIS IS PROBABLY CAUSED BY THE SETTINGS OF FIREWALL ON THIS COMPUTER.

  You're right; There are a large number of items on this page.  You may be able to refine things if you enter your full product number, but if not, here are some general indications:

  • Start by "Driver - Chipset" and use "9.1.0.1007 a (January 16, 2009).»
  • Then go to "driver - storage.»  Install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager driver.  Optional, but probably very desirable, install the new version of HP 3D DriveGuard.  You probably don't need (at least for now), the driver of chip card reader (unless you have an external drive of smart card).
  • Then go to "- Audio driver." Install the driver Microsoft UAA and the most recent drivers SoundMax ADI.
  • Then go to 'Pilot - graphics.' Install the new ATI video driver.
  • Then go to "driver - network."  It's a little more complicated.  Install the Marvel Yukon Gigabit Ethernet controller driver.  This will allow you to connect to your cable or DSL or your router by Ethernet cable.  You must determine if your particular laptop has an Intel or Broadcom wireless adapter.  Looking in the Device Manager in the "Network adapter" section, you should be able to make this identification.  Install the driver for the appropriate device.  If you believe that your laptop is Bluetooth compatible, install this driver as well.  The HP "wireless Wizard" is optional.  I would delay installing this at this stage.
  • Then go to "Driver - keyboard, mouse and input devices."  Install the Synaptics Touchpad driver and one for the HP Quick Launch buttons.

  At this point, most of your hardware should work correctly.  If there is always warning icons in Device Manager, you should be able to understand... or ask again here.  Read the 'Description' for other downloads to see if this is something you want or need.  Be aware, however, that many "Software" downloads are only updates or patches and not the complete package (which probably would have been preinstalled on a new computer.

  I suggest that you need to reset your preferences file by using this method:

  Start PSE10 until the Welcome screen.  The home screen looks like this:

  

  When you are in the Welcome screen, press first Ctrl + Alt + Shift + AND click 'change' to get a different dialog like this:

  

  You must click Yes and you're done.  This particular area is sometimes hidden, so you will need to drag the homescreen on the side with your mouse a #to make it visible.

• Cannot get icloud update in order to install

  I ccan can't get the 5.1 update iCloud to install on my Windows 7 laptop. I've never had a problem before. I am the new iTune and Quicktime update. There no pictures in my iCloud Photos more when I backed up my iPad. I had to fix iCloud 3.1 and it can take-off them but they should return after I backed up my iPad. I don't have OS 9.2 but OS 9.1 on the one I backed up. Should I backup my other iPad which has the OS 9.2 on it?

  I understand that you need help to unravel the problem you are having with the iCloud Control Panel for Windows and your Photos. The current iCloud control panel available right now for Windows 7 is 3.1.  ICloud Control Panel for Windows 5.1 requires Windows 10.

  If you were able to get iCloud 3.1 installed for Windows Control Panel, you can only access the functionality of my photo stream.  This allows you a look at the last 30 days of photos on your computer or iOS device.

  What happens to my photos if I turn off my photo stream?

  If you disconnect from the iCloud or disable my photo stream on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, all photos in the album My Photo Stream are removed from this device. All the photos in my photo stream you have imported all the photo album and the Photos tab are also deleted.

  Photos from my photo stream on your other devices are not affected. Photos from my photo stream will remain on the server iCloud for 30 days from the date that download you them on my photo stream. • After the installation of 41.0.1 gmail site has security problem, also cannot get roboform toolbar to display after activation of Roboform in FF

  FF broke so I upgraded to 41.0.1. After that whenever I tried to go to gmail.com , I get a message of no reliable view security. Tried to ignore the message, but received another similar message and was hardly the easy just configure an exception for each of them.

  First of all you n t need to change the boot order in the BIOS if you want to reinstall the new system.
  You can press F12 all turn on/off the unit.
  Then a menu should appear where you can change the boot device.
