Cannot get CameraRaw 8.7 installed in Windows 7 Lightroom 5
Purchased a Canon 7 d Mark II to my wife for Christmas. Don't want her to be able to download the photos she takes, but can not get CameraRaw 8.7 to install. I've updated to Lightroom 5.7. Lightroom updated very well, but I downloaded the plugin installation package twice and every time it says it installs but then I can not always open raw images, I've tried. I have a physical copy of Lightroom 5 not rent monthly one (I know if that matters). The card does not appear in the master in the Manager section at all. Lightroom has said that it is up-to-date. Information system for 5.7 5.7 says just isn't and not 5.7.1 but clicking on update says I have the latest update installed. Spent the last 2 hours doing cela... Hoping that it is just something stupid on my part.
OH, I'm a fool... I'm not the photographer. I can be the tech support person. I just realized perhaps I should try to import photos instead of just double click on them and it worked. Thanks for your help though. Wish I could get the last 2 hours... Time for a beer. Cheers mate.

Sounds like a bad set-up. I would advise to uninstall KB2871389 and put it back manually. Also uninstall McAfee and then retry the update.
I also recommend asking a reinstallation DVD Windows 8 of Dell.
Personally, I prefer a clean install and certainly have a way to clean install would be beneficial to you if you are having these problems with the factory settings. For instructions on how to clean installation guide reinstalling Windows / A Clean install of Windows 8.1:

Unfortunately, the combination of policies (blocking Windows 8.1 media to accept product keys Windows 8.0) Microsoft and Dell systems with Windows 8.1 not marketed is problematic for the end user. Cannot get wireless driver to install - how?

I just bought a refurbished 2100(te?) tecra notebook and again, I have to get the wifi working. I have a yellow exclamation beside 'Network controller' in the Device Manager on XPSP1 pro. I downloaded what was labeled as a driver on the toshiba site, but when I try to install the windows driver responds with a message stating that the driver does not match my hardware and therefore won't let me install the driver. I also welcomed windows 'Search' for the driver via the internet, of course, it was without result. Please let me know if you have any ideas to solve this problem. Here's the info from the laptop:

How can I get PageMaker 6.5 installed on Windows 7 Pro?
I've been running PageMaker 6.5 in Windows XP Pro SP 3 for several years, but my XP system is broken, and I had to upgrade to a Windows 7 Pro machine. How can I install PM 6.5 or newer update so I can open, edit and create new PageMaker files in the operating system Windows 7 Pro?
I don't know that PageMaker has updated several times since I finally bought it, but I have no idea what is the current upgrade. What is the upgrade older, more affordable, which will always be open and edit 6.5 MP files and still install in Windows 7 Pro?

A few things to note.
InDesign is a professional page layout program and the price is accordingly. You can 'buy' IDCS6 for $699, or you can pay $20 per month (annual contract) for IDCC, who will you have access to IDCS6.Pagemaker in InDesign conversions can vary widely. Some may be almost on the spot, others may be a confused mess.
Some people have talked about Serif page plus (about $120), which will not open Pagemaker documents, but will be supposed to be editing pdf files. I have not tried it myself so I don't know how a good or bad, that is.
Whatever you do, if you still have access to an xp with Pagemaker system make high-resolution pdf copies of all document Pagemaker than you think you'll need.

Every time it says I need to update however windows update fails, silverlight site stand alone fails to Setup. Say Windows cannot locate the file, or can't access the Setup program. I've tried everything I know including UN-installing and cannot locate the file.

This could be due to installation damaged the existing version of Silverlight on the computer. So, must uninstall completely from the computer and then try to reinstall.
I suggest you refer to the Microsoft KB Article below, try the troubleshooting steps in it and see if that solves the problem.

Cannot get the unit to work in Windows 7 and Ubuntu 64-bit
Running Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit Ubuntu 10.04.1 64-bit host as a guest. After installing and upgrading everything (including VMWare tools) when I try to enter the unit I get the following error:
The virtual machine cannot be set to Unity mode. Check that the unit is supported for this guest operating system and the latest version of VMWare Tools is installed.
This forum works on a Thinkpad T410S with turned on VT. I also tried with Ubuntu 32-bit and the same problem occurs. I have attached my vmware.log. I also closed and restarted the host and the guest.

I was able to print to a Hp Officejet 4215 with no problems and a brother and then printer started to save as offline and would not print. Uninstalled all printers and tried to install a new HP Officejet 6310 printer. Ran the install disc included, but would get the message error, is went to the HP site and downloaded the driver, still received the error msg - Windows found a driver software for your device but encountered an error trying to install it. The specified port is unknown. and installation of the device software has no error. I went into control panel / Device Manager / USB controller group / and tried to uninstall - restarted the pc and still no luck. When I go to the control panel and try to install a printer, there is no port printer not listed and I can't add a new port. I have connected the printer to another laptop running Windows Vista and recognized the new printer and installed the drivers and the impressions very well, but this laptop will not load the drivers. Help, please... Im a university student and desperately need to print!

All ports are used, and this is the reason why the installation goes through. We can uninstall these devices that are not in use and then try to reinstall the printer. Here's how:
a. start, point to all programs, point to Accessories, and then click command prompt.
b. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:
Set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices = 1
c. type the following command a command prompt and press ENTER:
Start devmgmt.msc
d. troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.
NOTE: Click Show hidden devices on the view menu in device managers before you can see devices that are not connected to the computer.
e. now navigate in imaging devices and then Device Manager expand it. Check if there are any devices that are not highlighted or blurred. Right-click on these devices and choose uninstall.
f. repeat the same Universal Serial Bus controllers also.
g. now try to install the printer.I hope this helps.

What could be the problem, is that the program tries to start at startup, but since it is impossible to find the program error occurs.
A solution would be:
Open the start menu and type "msconifg" into the search bar. That must put in place the program system Configurtion.
Go to the Startup tab and look for all programs with the VAIO or Windows Media Gallery.
If you are able to find them, uncheck the box for this problem, it should disable start at startup, and hit apply.
This should fix the pop up question.

Printing problems can be caused by cables that are not properly connected, corrupt, drivers, incompatible drivers, the printer settings, missing updates and problems with your printer.

Cannot get rid of the empty Capture window
I've been video capture from VHS tapes to a VCR by a Canopus ADVC-55 analog-to-digital converter. I use Windows 7. It worked OK, but at one point, first Elements 9 froze when taking and I aborted it via Task Manager. When I reopened it PE9 a capture window empty blocking work area appeared (see Figure). The window cannot be closed or moved, but can be resized.
I have made several attempts to get rid of him.
-J' started another video capture, which opened a new capture window without getting rid of it empty.
-Starting a new project doesn't have a window.
-J' uninstalled and reinstalled PE9. The empty window always opens when I start the program!
The program is still usable by resizing the window to small so large that I can access the controls, but I would appreciate any advice to get rid of the stupid thing.

First thing I would do would be go to the fenΩtre > reset the workspace and we hope that it clears.

Cannot get adobe 10 to work in windows 7 internet explore!
I read almost all of the threads on this subject and tried several things without success.
I followed some advice from edinbob (sorry if I spelled it wrong), but nothing works. I'm a little computer illiterate... Please take pity, and have patience if you have taken the time to read this.
I have an HP computer, it says as 256-bit, and windows 7.
I see no videos on youtube since the update to adobe, trying to install version 10, and a virus warning all as captured AVG (don't know if that has something to do with it)
I downloaded the exe to install adobe, I downloaded the uninstall program, I downloaded the Remover Mcaffee also.
I removed Mcaffee with solvent and uninstalled something else Mcaffe section delete.
I temporarily turned off AVG and the firewall of Windows while painful to install it.
Nothing has worked. What I am doing wrong?
Oh I also went to what adobe pg who says what version you have... I don't see anything out of here... just a box with a small red cross.

Before doing anything to your topic, I want to assure you that your system is clean. Go to www.malwarebytes.org and download the free Version on your desktop. If it is not updated automatically, then click on update on their toolbar and the update. When it's over, then disable AVG:

Double-click the resident shield.
Uncheck the active resident shield.Save the changes.
Now run a Scan with MBAM (malwarebytes) and follow all the instructions, if they are malware.
When it's over, you can Re-enabled moy.

hepatitis tried looking for help microsoft collaboration BT can't get help online. I formatted my laptop 2 weeks ago and since then my headphones did not work with windows media player 11, although it plays on Skype on the same computer. any help?

(1) you get an error message?
(2) is limited to Windows Media Player?
(3) did you try Windows Media Player audio playback on the speakers?
Method 1: Make sure that the Windows Media Player volume settings are properly adjusted and its volume is not muted. Now try to play different audio and video files and check if you can hear audio through headphones
Method 2: Run the fixit available in the link below and check if that makes a difference

I have FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR DOWNLOAD PC VIRTUAL MACHINE AND xp MODE. AND THEIR INSTALLATION. Every THING GOES WELL until this THAT the INSTALLATION OF XP AND THEN IT GETS to 99% AND GIVES the ERROR THAT XP can't NOT COMPLETE THE INSTALLATION TRY AGAIN.

Cannot get sync contacts in GMAIL for windows 8
I had to uncheck sync contacts to get GMAIL to work. Now I don't know how to get synced to the rear.
Google blocks it from users of Windows 8, there is no way to directly synchronize with Google contacts. Google can always connect to your account online if instead.
