CANNOT INSTALL ANY WINDOWS UPDATES UNIQUE LANGUAGE 8

I have a new laptop Windows 8 unique language. I tried to install updates without success.

No error message

Windows Installer: Installation Preparation - it runs for 'hours' no download or installation of updates.

To see if she could take a long time because the total amount of updates are + - 700 MB, I tried to install/upgrade to update only a 43 k Update (security update Cumulative for ActiveX Killbits for Windows 8 for x 64 systems (KB2900986) - the download size: 43 KB.)  After 30 minutes, I stopped the installation as it shows only: prepare for installation

I can't upgrade to Windows 8.1 without updates.

My anti-virus updated fine, however no Microsoft updates don't want to download and install.

No other Internet connection issues, etc.

Data sheet:

I5, third generation of processor.

8 GB RAM

Windows 8 unilingual, recorded.

Help, please.

Worsie

Hi, thanks for the comments.

I tried the method, but it has not fixed the problem.

With respect to method 2, I bought the laptop with Windows 8 by-installed, so no DVD with the software.  I made contact with the distributor of the computer (Samsung), but the first reaction was to get a new version of Windows 8.1 and as they say, the unique language of Windows 8, which has been installed, although the real is a 'gift' and therefore they cannot provide the DVD.  I contacted both Microsoft and there response also had to buy a new license.  I can not fully used this problem as the update seems to be 'corrupted '.

I noticed that the Proxy has been set to auto detect the Proxy settings.  I turned it off and some of the patches installed.  However, most hotfixes do not install and the same issue occur when trying to install.

I always do if something goes wrong.

Kind regards.

    Hi Vijay Kumar,

Welcome to the Microsoft Community forums.

Sorry for the inconvenience that you aren't able to recover Windows 8.1 during the updating of the computer.

If I understand you tried to install the Ubuntu operating system, but the installation was not successful. Then you tried to update the computer and it turns off back to the Windows 8 operating system preinstalled.

When you updating the computer, he returned to Windows 8 because it is the default operating system (OS preinstalled) and when refreshing, it uninstalled the updates of Windows 8.1 and restored to Windows 8

I suggest you check the steps in the link to update Windows Windows 8.1 8

  • Windows will work not day after I installed the windows updates.

The next day, I installed the Windows updates, I turned on my laptop a short Vaio splash screen is displayed and a black screen comes up saying that "Windows couldn't start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. "I don't have the installation disc of Windows that it suggests to use the software is preinstalled.  The safe mode and last known good configuration and the start windows normally get Windows running.  It is simply scrolls a list of code and ends with a line crcdisk.sys, goes to a blue screen for less than a second, then goes to black screen.  All the help I could get to address this issue would be greatly appreciated.

If Safe Mode doesn't work no and you don't have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a startup repair or a system restore:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.

NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.

Read all the info on the website on how to create and use it.

    Reboot the system after installation.

Is he being always reaffirmed or just KB973688 be already now?
If KB973688 is the only be reaffirmed, install now while the system is still in the clean boot State.
    That bring them both installed?

Y at - it a registry key to check if the current user can install a windows updates? also, what registry key that is used to verify whether a user is an administrator or not. Thank you...

There is no need to check the registry keys to see if you can install updates or not.

You just need to be connected to an administrator account to install the Windows updates.

You can check if you are in an administrator account by trying taks simple administrattor. For example. Try to change the time system.

If you can change the time, you are an administrator; no other.

    Hello

Welcome to Microsoft Windows 7 answers Forum!

Here you need to start your computer in safe mode and do a system restore.

Start the computer in safe mode and check the number.

Follow this link provided below to start your computer in safe mode.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

You have to try to perform a system restore to go back to the work settings, to do that follow the instructions below:

    1) click Start, type system restore in the search box, and then click System Restore in the list programs. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type your password or click on continue.

    (2) in the System Restore dialog box, click on choose a different restore point and then click Next.

    (3) in the list of restore points, click a restore point created before you started having the problem, and then click Next.

    4) click Finish.

If you still have the problem then we will try to reset the windows update components and find the number.

You must follow the link provided below to run the fixit which will automatically fix the problem if you find problems with the fixit, then you can follow the procedure to manually reset Windows component update.

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx/KB/971058

KB954430 installed, but Windows Update repeatedly offers the update. Fix - it reports he solves the problem, but it didn't.

    Hello

How to reset the Windows Update components?

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/971058

  • U410 - cannot connect after Windows Update after restore factory when the time zone is not UTC-8.

    Steps to reproduce the error:

1 use OneKey recovery to restore the initial factory settings.

    2. on the initial setup of Windows screen, select a time zone to UTC - 8, UTC (London)

    3. connect to Windows, open the Windows Update control panel and click on "Install updates"

4 restart the computer to complete the update.

    5. on the login screen, try to connect or shutdown the computer.

    Result:

Computer is blocked with the only desktop wallpaper and mouse pointer visible. Does not meet all the keys. By pressing the power button sleep machine. Press again on he wakes the machine in the blocked State.

I have reproduced this problem 3 times for initial help restore every time.

    Wordaround:

Before starting the factory restore processes, set the clock of system by 24 hours. After the end of the restoration of the factory, set the system clock to the correct time.

Otherwise, wait 24 hours between a factory reset and try to install the Windows updates.

    Analysis:

This problem is caused because of the way that Windows stores time. It assumes that the system clock is set to local time rather than UTC. When you use the OneKey recovery system he doesn't know what time zone of the system clock is set on, and so it assumes that it is set to UTC - 8. If it is in fact the UTC value, OneKey Recovery creates files with a time stamp of 8 hours in the future. This causes the Windows Update to fail.

One step that I forgot to mention, that may be important:

After the installation of the plant, during the initial configuration screens, I updated the time zone GMT London.

Since the OneKey recovery uses GMT - 8, this can cause some files to have a timestamp of 8 hours in the future. Maybe if I waited 8 hours before the update of this problem would not occur. I'll test this by setting the clock system for 1 week in the past, make reset factory and then it retroactively to the correct date before the update.

EDIT: Test successfully. This workaround works.
