Cannot install CM2320 printer in Windows 8 driver.

Cm2320nf is on my Windows network, the host is a win XP computer. All win XP computers can find and print without problem. Computer Windows 8 is able to find the printer. The attempt to add printer causes Windows update to search for and not be able to find the driver, check later. HP diagnostics detects the printer, run Windows update that fails with the same error.

Check http://catalog.update.microsoft.com and sought CM2320. It can only find Windows 7 drivers, no driver Windows 8. Downloaded the driver win 7 (64-bit), unzipped the CAB file. Try to run the driver installation fails with "missing file" but no name for the file missing.

At the Add Printer dialog box in the INF file for the download, the installation starts, but then fails.

Hello

The drivers for the CM2320 are already included in Windows 8 and not via the Microsoft Update servers, so you weren't able to find the drivers on the Microsoft catalog.

As far as I could understand, you want to add a connected printer, and shared from a Windows XP PC, I'm good?

If so, try following the steps below and check if this can help:

  1. On the client Windows 8, NECC devices and printers and click on add a printer.
  2. Click the printer that I want isn't listed.
  3. Select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings.
  4. Keep the selection such as LPT1, and then click Next.
  5. Select HP in the Manufecturer list.
  6. Select HP Color Laserjet CM2320 MFP PCL6 driver class.
  7. Follow the steps to complete the wizard.
  8. Windows XP host, look for the name of the PC or the IP address and the name of the shared printer:
The host name of the PC can be located by right click on my computer.
The IP address can be found by clicking Start > run. Type cmd anc click OK.  Type IPCONFIG and click on enter and IP address is displayed.
The printer share name can be located by clicking with the right button on the printer, select properties and go to the tab share.
  9. Now update the printer to the host port:
    • Right-click on the printer created and select printer properties.
    • Open the Ports tab, select Local Port and click New Port.
    • Type the port of the shape of \\ComputerName\Shared name (such as it is located in the previous step.

Windows Server 2008 network.  Printers have ip addresses. Install the drivers from the Print Manager.  /Terminal Server Workgroup installation.

It's the same situation with XP.  The print driver names must match.  If you notice the name of the printer driver that uses XP is a name different from the one that is installed when you plug in the device on the Windows 7 computer.  This is just my assumption, please correct me if this isn't the case.

The real solution is to install a 32-bit driver on the XP machine that uses the same name that the 64-bit driver and share a printer using this driver or find a 64-bit driver that uses the same name as the 32-bit driver installed on XP and install the driver on XP.

    Hi Benoit,.

Good day to you and thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand that you are unable to install the printer on Windows 7. I'll be happy to help you with your query. However, let me ask you a few questions;

    1. What happens when you try to install the printer?
    2. You receive an error message? If Yes, what is the exact full error message?
    3. You try to install the printer for the first time to Windows 7?
    4. Remember to make no change in the computer before the show, if it was installed before?
    5. What is the brand and model of the computer?
    6. You are able to install the printer to Windows 7 via USB cable? If not, what happens when you connect the printer (via USB) to Windows 7?

There could be various reasons that you can not install the printer. There could be a possibility if you try to connected the printer for the first time, you need the printer software. If it has been installed in the past, it could be any conflict of third party software. Let's try the methods below and check.

Method 1: Download and install the latest software of the printer from the printer manufacturer's website and check.

Enter the exact model and series type the following link and install the printer software.

    Driver downloads &

Method 2: There are several ways to connect a printer to your computer. An option that you choose depends on the device itself, and whether you're at home or at the office.

    Please see: install a printer

Method 3: If the printer has been installed in the past, perform the clean boot in order to avoid any conflict of third party software and check.

Put your system to the clean boot state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must follow the steps in the article mentioned below to perform a clean boot.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows

Note: see 'How do I reset the computer to start normally after a boot minimum troubleshooting' to reset the computer starts normally after troubleshooting.

From now on, try the methods above and let us know the result as well as the answers to the questions. We will be happy to help you further.

  • Cannot install the printer. The print processor is not (winprint)

    According to the scenario:

DC1 in site 1 runs Windows Server 2012 Standard, printing and Document services are installed. Many printers are installed and work.

DC2 in site 2 is running Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard 64-bit, printing and Document services are installed. I want to install printers that users in this site must be able to print with.

Same printer exist in both sites. In Site 1 on DC1, I was able to properly install the driver, add the port and installed the printer.

I took the same driver DC2 and installed. I created the Port with the IP address of the printer but when I finish the Add Printer Wizard I get an error message saying: cannot install the printer. There is no winprint print processor.

I was looking in many forums and before you ask, the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Print Processors\winprint key does not exist on two domain controllers (tried to create thispost), but makes no difference.

The winprint.dll file does not exist in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86 directory on any of the machines, but is located under C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64 on the two machines.

There seems to be no difference in configuration between these two machines, but as I mentioned abov, on DC1, I'm able to add the printer, and I'm not on DC2.

Is there anything I can do to get the job to the printer on DC2?

(And for those who ask why install on a domain controller, there is no member server in this site).

You have a solution other than what answers are already in this forum.  I uninstalled and reinstalled tried wireless and usb, installation driver separately, tried to install it in safe mode, run now utility scan.  I think that the problem began with an update of Windows 7 which has hung up and eventually having a corrupted file?

    Hello

What is the exact model of the printer number?
I suggest you to check if the printer is compatible with Windows 7:
If the printer is compatible, then uninstall all the drivers connected the printer to the computer, download the latest drivers from the website of the manufacturer, the install without connection to the printer.
Connect the printer when it prompts.

  • Cannot install the printer. The print processor does not exist.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  I am able to install HP LaserJet printers but no virtual printer.  I can not load the XPS from Windows printer or Print to OneNote.  I also tried to load more than one PDF printer and none of them work.  The error I keep gettig to "cannot install the printer.  The print processor does not exist. »

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

My laptop has been reloaded from a picture, and I was not able to start the print spooler at all. I have studied the issue and cleaned files and registry entries and was able to print on real printers, but not virtual. That's when I asked the question.

Finished reimage the computer again, and once again, I could not start the print service. We discovered that the image that the laptop was built from was actually a VMWare virtual machine, so we started to look in that direction.   We had to delete the following entry in the registry and rebooting, how the print spooler began to work very well.

[Print HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ThinPrint for VMWare Port Monitor]

You wanted to post this in case someone else ran into a similar problem.

This is what worked for me.

I copy the files from the print processor from another machine to work with the same architecture as the one who has the problem (x 86 or x 64).

Step 1: Stop the print spooler service.

Step 2: Copy all the files and folders on the system to work under C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64.

Step 3: Make a backup of the system files listed in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64 problem.

Step 4: Paste the files that you copy from the system of work in the case of the United Nations, the problem system.

Step 5: Start the print spooler service.

Try to connect or install your net printer and it should work now.

I hope this work for all of you.
