Cannot install HP Photosmart Plus B209 full feature drivers on Windows 8

Help, please. I'm stuck in a swirl of installation nightmares HP and there seems to be no leaks.

I have a new laptop to Windows 8. The short story is that whenever I have try and install drivers for my HP Photosmart Plus B209a all-in-one comprehensive features, nothing happens. Although printing function still works, neither Windows nor an app or program that recognizes the scanner, and therefore I can't scan. I tried following instructions for a clean uninstall of the old drivers and then reinstalling the most comprehensive features, but still no installation occurs.

History a little longer: the entire system (including scan) worked fine on my old laptop to Windows 7. As explained above, printing works fine on the new laptop Windows 8 (Windows seemed to automatically install some drivers when he realized everything first the HP device has been connected to the network), but I can't scan for love nor money - Windows Fax and Scan or MS Paint never recognize that there is a connected scanner. I tried to install the latest drivers for full functionality and the center of solutions for the product (file name: PS_AIO_06_B209a - m_140_408.exe [1/1, 228.58 M] from: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=mp-109701-1&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en...) but each time, after downloading and extracting, nothing happens - no setup or welcome screen just nothing. Files extracted up to 100%, a CD cymbol appears briefly, then nothing. Bizzarely once, did it come with the screen of welcome Setup with the options 'Install' or 'Out', but after clicking in 'Install', nothing happened. Since then, I can't seem to go beyond the stage of extraction

So I have followed the steps proposed elsewhere to do a clean removal of the old drivers and reinstall - notably by ensuring that all relevant programs are uninstalled, the temporary files are erased, the device is removed in Device Manager, restart the computer, etc., but nothing works. Whenever I have download the new driver, it will not be passed the phase of extraction.

All advice on this, or there at - it another way to get the work of service scan? Please put me out of my misery...

Thank you, Jack

At this point, I'd run the option Windows 8 r .

  • Cannot install HP PhotoSmart 3210 on 8.1, 64-bit Windows. You want to start.

Goal: Printer install HP Photosmart 3210, FUll CV utility (Solution Center, Photo Creations, etc.) on a new DELL system running Windows 8.1, 64-bit.

Hardware configuration: The HP 3210 is connected by Ethernet to Western Digital My Net N750 router.  Two computers are connected to the same router: a race of all-in-one DELL 8.1 of Windows with all updates installed (this is the system I am trying to install the HP software on) and an Apple iMac, I need only basic printing capability.  Both computers are temporarily connected via WiFi; This will be changed to Ethernet at a later date.  The router using DHCP to assign IP addresses to devices, including printer.  I can ping the printer from two computers.  I can set up the HP embedded web server on both computers.  The iMac can print and scan from the printer.

Short story: I tried several times to install the printer drivers and the HP utility software on Windows 8.1 System.  At one point, I installed the drivers, but not able to install the utilities.  When I finally got the utilities installed, they did not see the printer.  At the present time, even the notebook can not see the printer.  The mistakes that I've seen are:
-"The system cannot find the file specified."  (the name of the file contained the string ice_suffix.  "I believe that this failure was due to the presence of McAfee Security software, using msconfig more later disabled.)
    -BSOD BAD_POOL_ERROR
-No network detected (from HP Install Wizard) device
"This app prevents you to restart" (the title of the app was "HP all-in-one series")
I tried the wizard install the HP add a tool of the device, the print and Scan doctor and several other things.  I did a level 4 uninstall as described below, which has encountered an error in an early phase, but continued after I clicked "OK".  I installed the latest version of Flash.  The System File Checker has been run when the system was first installed on May 29 and found no problem.  I temporarily wired the printer directly on the Windows system via USB (and then put it back on the router).  I have reset the printer by removing the power for a minute, etc, etc.

At this point, I would like to clean the system as much as possible and try again from scratch, using the installation wizard.  Based on my experience so far and a careful reading of the many positions installation - problems on this forum, I created a checklist of proposed to achieve this.

My request on the forum: Please see the checklist.  I won't go forward until it has been approved as being complete and accurate.  Missing something?  Nothing is unnecessary?  The order should be changed?

NOTE: Step 6 assume that you have already tried to install the software and therefore to have a copy of the uninstaller on the system utilities.  In my case it is true.

1 connect the printer to the router via Ethernet.  (This is my current setup).
2 turn on the printer.  Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer.  Wait at least one minute.  Reconnect the power cable.  Wait for the printer to initialize.
    3. do a "clean boot": (now RMB) do a right-click on the icon of window in the lower left of the screen.  Select 'run '.  Enter "msconfig".  Click on 'OK '.  In the Services tab, check "hide all Microsoft Services".  Click on "disable all".  In the Startup tab, click on "Open Task Manager".  On the start of the Task Manager tab, click the top entry and then click "disable".  Repeat for each entry in the list.  Verify that the status column now contains "Disabled" for each entry.  Click on the 'X' at the top right of the window to close the Task Manager.  In the System Configuration window, click 'OK '.
    4. RESTART the system to perform a start without the Services and start disabled.
    5. connect to an administrator ID.  This must be the ID used previously to try to install the software.
6 do an uninstall of level 4: RMB on the icon of the window in the lower left corner of the screen.  Select 'run '.  Enter '%Temp% '.  Click on 'OK '.  In the resulting display folder (supposed to be in C:/Users / 'ID' / AppData/Local/Temp, where 'ID' is your user ID) enter "Uninstall_L4" in the search box at top right of the screen.  This should find 'Uninstall_L4.bat' (supposed to be in C:/Users / 'ID' / AppData/Local/Temp/7zS0 * / util/ccc).  Click (or double-click if your system is configured to require that).  [NOTE: several forum posts say to use L4uninstall.exe, but this file is not anywhere in the Temp folder on my system.]
7 meet the need of all the prompts that appear.  A final prompt will tell you that a restart is required.  If two windows appear at the same time, both with "Restart" buttons on them, click the button in the larger window.  [Note from experience: when I click on restart in the small window, WIndows complained that he could not start because the larger window was always active.]
    8. once the system restarted, RMB-the icon of the window > run--> msiexec /unreg-> OK, then run RMB window icon->-> msiexec/regserver-> OK.
    9. check that the uninstall and complete if necessary:
Look in C:/Program Files (x 86) for HP records; If found, delete them.
Look in C:/Program Data HP records; If found, delete them.
RMB-> the icon of the window run-> % Temp %-> OK.  Delete all files in the folder that results.  [NOTE that it prevents to run uninstall again until installation has been completed, since it is where are the uninstall files.]
RMB-> Panel window icon-> devices and printers.  If the HP 3200 Series is broadcast, RMB-> remove the instrument.
RMB icon window-> Control Panel-> system-> device-> tab Manager display-> show hidden devices.  Expand "Printing queues" (click the triangle).  When a HP 3200 queue exists, RMB on it and click on uninstall.  Expand "Printers" and do the same thing.
RMB-> run-> regedit window icon-> OK. Scroll to the top of the list.  Click on 'Computer' to establish a starting point.  Edit-> Find... check the box "Keys", uncheck the 'Values', 'Data' and "Match whole string only" boxes.  In the "Search" box enter "HP." (including interval)-> then find.  [NOPE, that is not all HP keys and found a few that seem not to be HP (for example SOAHP. (DLL). a search for "HP" finds lots of unrelated keys.  Is a good way to clean the registry if level 4 uninstall it did not?]  Use F3 to search for subsequent entries.  For those who are clearly HP related [How can I be sure?], RMB on the key, and select 'delete '.  [Yes, it's dangerous and without greater clarity I won't actually, but I don't like leaving orphans key autour.]
    10. run Disk Cleanup.  Click the window to access a screen start or Apps.  Type "Disk Cleanup".  Click on "free disk space by deleting unnecessary files.  Check the desired boxes.  Click OK.  Wait for the course to complete.
    11 RESTART the system.
12 install the HP software.  Pointing a browser on http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL50403/mp-122330-1/hppiw.exe to download the wizard, then run the downloaded file.  On the first prompt screen, click "install".  When you are prompted, select custom installation.  "Uncheck the box 'Unique consumables HP', 'scheme Customer Participation', and ' bing for HP bar '.  When you are prompted for the update preference, select "Ask before updating" [my wife, nonnegotiable preference] remove useful tips and suggestions.  Click on 'Next' as required.  When you are prompted, select the Ethernet connection.  The printer must be discovered.  [On one attempt, at this point, that I received the message "the requested service is not found".  Of course, there is that HP Services listed in msconfig, but in order to get that much, I had turned off them ("clean boot").  This seems to be a catch-22 situation, unless these services should have automatically started earlier in the installation process.]
13 RESTART.  This is necessary at the end of the installation process.  ["Clean boot" conditions hold back at this point?  If so, I'll have to restore the Services and Startup items later and antother restart.  [When is is safe to do so, that is how do you know that the installation of HP is really over?]

Again, the purpose of this post is to validate the above list.  Your informed comments will be appreciated.

I think it's my problem now. Please advise me how to install the drivers.

  • Photosmart Plus B209 wireless connection not available

    Hello

I just got a new Photosmart Plus B209 because my old 4580 died. I had the old printer put in place for the wireless connection, but the new Photosmart told me that the network is unavailable. When I press help he told me to make sure that there is no connection and to check for interference. Well, there are none. Printer and router are almost side by side. I used the HP set up guide and he tells me that the network is not available (which it isn't because otherwise I wouldn't be able to write this online).

    I use a MacBook with a Timecapsule 10.5.8 and a cable modem D-link.

Yes, the workaround is a bit tedious, but it works.  If you have another router (standard), we all connect to one and use WPS.

In any case, let's try this:

    1. on the front of the printer: Setup > Wireless > default settings.

    2. on your look of computer for a wireless called "hpsetup".  Connect you to it.

    3. print a network Test Wireless in the menu of the wireless printer.  Get the IP address of the printer.

    4. type the IP address of the printer in the web browser address bar.  You should see the page in the printer settings.

    5. click on the network tab, and then start the wireless configuration wizard.  Follow the instructions.

    6. when the printer is connected to your wifi, re - connect your computer to your wifi and add the printer in system preferences > print & scan (click the sign '+' to add the printer).

  • 564XL cartridges Cyan, Magenta and yellow for Photosmart Plus B209

Before my shift or I turned off and spends a lot of money for the ink cartridges for our Photosmart Plus B209 printer, can anyone tell me for sure ifXL 564 (cyan, yellow and magenta) color cartridges will be really appropriate in this printer?  I looked at the connectors of the cartridge in the printer and they don't look big enough to take something bigger than 564 regular cartridges I have there now.

I already made the mistake of buying a combo pack of cartridges with 564 yellow cartridges, Cyan, Magenta and black Photo.  I discovered, after the fact, the 564 Photo Black does not fit into the B209.  So, before you make the same mistake with color cartridges, I was hoping that someone could tell me if the 564XLs of Cyan, yellow and Magenta in fact fits.

I know the black cartridge 564XL will adapt, but it is obvious because of the cartridge housing is greater.

Anyone can answer this question reliable?  I would really appreciate it.  I need to order a certain number of cartridges and if color XL cartridges will be adapted, I want to get these.

564xl color cartridges will fit the Photosmart B209a.  Color xl cartridges are the same physical size as the cartridges 'standards', but are filled with ink more.

  • Cannot install for photosmart d110 driver because not digitally signed

D110 Photosmart all-in-one.  Cannot install driver after running recovory disc.

    Windows 7 64 bit Dell Inspiron 580.

I had to run the recovery disk after receiving the virus/malware.  It seems that all the other printer drivers are on my computer.  I downloaded the driver from HP.com several times and it cannot be found by my computer.  Manually, I tried to load it from the disc supplied with the printer and got the following error message: "cannot install driver because it is not digitally signed or not signed in the appropriate way.»

We could continue, while reinstalling Windows would finally settle the matter. If you believe that the issue is related to the virus, you can run a scan for viruses on your computer using any anti-virus software you have. After that, reinstalling Windows could be the next step.

Alternatively, you can try to install the printer in Mode safe, if you have not already.

If you could mark a message with the accepted Solution if I helped you, would be great!

Please let me know what happens. Thank you!

  • HP Photosmart Plus B209 will not install

He just bought HP Photosmart B209 plus when I go into the installation process gives me errors saying something to the effect that the software is not "signed digitally" for microsoft.

I tried several options to correct but without success. Any help will be greatly appreciated. In addition, it took me to a fix called "HP XP installation error" but that did not help.

    Thank you

HP technical support (the two guys) were not any help what so ever in eliminating the problem described above. The last person in tech support took me through a manual installation. I got to hold one of its last steps linked to a «Universal USB port» After that he told me that he was not able to help me and asked me to call back in 30 minutes.

After 5 hours trying to install a printer, I returned to the manual installation, where he showed the 'Universal USB port' and I noticed a USB with the HP Photosmart B209. I checked the box and the problem has been resolved.

So, I don't who to blame or credit, but the work of the printer and I'm tired of working on a printer for the day.

Never used it before so I tried the XP program compatibility Wizard I forgot. That fixed the problem with the USB cord. I had downloaded the new driver for XP but didn't know how to use it and could not open or some nomatter what I tried or where I put nothing helped. Installation using old records kept asking for files, that I didn't of course. All tried, you know the drill. Install, uninstall, and more. Went back on Yahoo search (20' e time) and found a score to the HP page where I had downloaded the driver. «How to install «...»» "don't remember that being there when I got the driver downloaded. Then I followed the instructions, once more and double click on the new driver on my laptop and installed like a champ.
I hope this helps someone else. Too tired, you miss things.

  • Cannot install HP Photosmart C310a missing file hpzshl...

I am trying to install a HP Photosmart c310a on Windows 8.1with drivers downloaded on the internet.

I constantly get a message that a file is not found.  The software is looking in the same temporary file that he had placed in the driver files.  I can't work exactly which file is missing, because it does not fit in the dialog box.   IYT appears only as hpzshl...

I looked at renaming the file as wrked has others who are struggling to get a hpzpnp40.exe file, but it doesn't seem to be a problem with the address of the file.

I managed to install basic software, but I want to scan but also print.

    Help, please.
