  Hello

  I have problems to install the software on a Windows 7 computer.  I logged in using the account only on the computer, but when I type in (what I thought was) the admin user name and password to install the software, it says "the requested operation requires a rise."  I tried to run the install as administrator, but the same message came.  I also tried to go in the user account control settings, but the computer would not let me do either (or MsConfig).  Can anyone help?

  I suggest you rename the temporary folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution:

  1. click on start, run, type: cmd and press ENTER. Run the following command in the opened window.

  net stop WuAuServ

  2. click on start, run, type: %windir%, and then press ENTER.
  3. in the opened folder, rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution to SDold.
  4. click on start, run, type: cmd and press ENTER. Run the following command in the opened window.

  net start WuAuServ

  Visit the Windows Update site to check this problem. If it works then it's a corrupted Windows Update file and we need to delete the folder in which it resides.

  Well, this should solve your problem.

  1. Remove the USB cable to the back of the PC.
  2. In your type of search bar in cmd and open Command Prompt.
  3. Type "msiexec /Unregister" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
  4. Type "msiexec/regserver" (without the quotes) and press ENTER.
  5. In your search bar in msconfig and open type MSConfig.
  6. Click the Services tab.
  7. Click Hide all by Microsoft.
  8. Click Disable all.
  9. Click the Startup tab.
  10. Click Disable all.
  11. Click OK and reboot your PC.
  12. Download and install the latest drivers by clicking on this link.

  I have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 and CANNOT install the printer.

  After the upgrade, the HP software prompted me to reconnect to the printer.  I chose for a wireless connection.

  The process hangs / locks the screen shown on the picture below.  I have tried just about EVERY related solutions posted in the community and have come-up-small.

  I was finally able to solve the problem using 'Reset this PC' in Windows 10 - see pictures below.

  My system has been corrupted somehow.  I don't know what was the cause, but the system works better than ever now (Lenovo T430 8 MB of RAM).  The process of 'Reset this PC' purged MANY foreigners "tricks" of the machine.

  With the 'solution' to the other thread, I was finally able to load the software for the printer on my computer, but then the computer is not grateful and in collaboration with the printer for some reason any.  I got the JO 4500 all-in-One machine to print with a generic driver to a different printer, but I couldn't use the other features like analysis.

  Now, when I plug in USB cable to the printer to the computer, nothing happens.  Other USB devices work fine, but the printer is not recognized as it should be for a reason any.  So, I installed the printer drivers and software, but now cannot complete the installation of the printer to work. What gives?

  All my pc info and the printer is given on the thread linked above.  I hope I can help with that.  This is ridiculous.

  This looks like a port that the computer connects to is turned off, which is very rare, or as the USB cable may be bad. Another possibility is that the USB port on the printer itself is turned off. To control the port on the computer just plug in another device to the port and see if the computer detects. It will very likely, because, as I said, it's very rare that a single port out.   I install software error code 1618 already running when I try to install software.  There is not any other system running.  However, when I look at taskmgr, I see 2 instances of msiexec running.  I was advised to cancel their but they restart immediately.  Any ideas?  Thank you.
