  • Help, please! Cannot open attachments in Windows Live Mail.

I use Windows 7, Windows Live Mail, and Malwarebytes/Anti-Malware security. The error message says I need to change the security settings to open the attachments. (Adobe files or other.) How do I do that? Please notify.

Malwarebytes prevents you to open attachments, windows live mail will be, the security settings are in your profile page, if they are approved contacts, select always open attachments from trusted senders, or add them to your approved sender list, options and more options review and adjust your settings, malwarebytes invite you when these attachments act as a virus or malware.

Windows live mail has problems, my recommendation is low grade of live hotmail, fewer problems like that and not hotmail or another.

The version of IE is Vista Home

Can you help me with some of the other instructions.

    1: how to run WMUtil

2: How can I deactivate AVG

    3: How do I restart

    Thank you

    John Gifford

You are is Windows Vista Home version. Open Internet Explorer and click Help | Everything. You get the error message is a known problem with IE8, although I thought that was patched.

1: Download the zip file. Right-click | Extract all. Click on the result and run it. You will see buttons for compact and repair the database.

2: click the icon in the Notification area to open the program. You will need to look around, after that, as I'm not familiar with the details about moy.

3: click Start, and then stop. When the computer is turned off completely, press the power button to restart.

  • Cannot open attachments in Windows Live Mail on Windows 7

I bought a new Windows 7 machine, a few days ago (July 12, 2013).  I installed Windows Live Mail and uploaded (with limited success at best) messages from Outlook Express in WL.  I uninstalled McAfee and installed and activated Norton.  Then I started using WL email today.  I have received a few messages with Word attachments.  I can not open them with a double-click or with right click then click on 'open '.  I can not print them.  When I try, nothing happens.  I can save to a folder and then open them, but it's a great nuisance.

Surprising oddity: I think THAT I managed to open the first attachment that I received.  I know that I looked at, and I don't remember any problem.  But I can to open it (the email with the attachment is still in my Inbox queue), or any other accessory.  It is a particular idea to any aspiring detective software!

In the windows of forum I see that others have had similar problems, and no one could help you after several tries.  Is this just a problem with WL?

    Good luck.

FWIW, I used Outlook Express for years. When I got this Win7 machine, I tried WLMail 2009, which was "pre Ribbon toolbar" and I did not like much for her. 2011 is a disaster. I switched to Thunderbird and I am very happy with it.

  • Can not down load programs cannot open attachments in windows mail

When I try and download a program it down then charges disappears disappeared. Also in Windows mail I try and open an attachment and it starts to open then went it does nothing. I posted this message once before, and somebody said to go back to internet explorer 7 and uninstall internet explorer 8 I did. It has not corrected the problems, so a few days later I went back to I.E.8. I have all the Vista undates installed including service pack 1 and 2.

Someone said to just reinstall Vista with the disk I got from Dell with my computer, but that didn't work. To the low laoded all files, and then when he went to develop he got 27 percent and stopped while I had to close and the computer went baclk to my old settings.

I'm not good at this stuff and I am quite at a loss to know where to go or what to do.

I tried to look for problems in the way that someone told me to and he said that some files were corrupt, but when I tried to find out which he says I didn't have permission to view this list.

After hours of searching I found the problem. I got 8.5 AGV antivirus installed and tried to upgrade to AVG 9.0, something went wrong and he fucked up eveything. Fortunately, AVG Web site had heard of this problem and it had a fix for this. Now everything is back to working perfectly. I hope this answer helps someone else. It was a blind luck that I found the problem that I am not at all computer.

  • Why cannot open itunes with windows 10

Why cannot open iTunes with windows 10

For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.

The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. (Yes, I see that you've done that but maybe not the specific deletions which are mentioned).

Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.

More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.

See also install missing components in case the installation of a component at a time is successful.

Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

  • Cannot open file because Windows needs to know what program created the file

After downloading some files when I try to open the file, I get the message cannot open the file, windows needs to know what program created the file.

    Any suggestions?

Perhaps no program has been assigned to this file format and so you cannot open these files.
I put t know which files you downloaded, but you can choose an application installed that can open these files.

Right click the file and I have to then choose open with.
Then, you could choose the program you want to use.

    Best regards

cannot open attachments to emails or some document files, like the downloaded videos or greeting cards.  I tried the exe file. thing and it is already in my folder of files.  Need a fix.  Had this problem 2 months ago and that's where the exe. has been applied.  Has worked since then until today.

    Hello

    1. what changes have been made to your computer before the problem?

I suggest that you follow these steps and check to see if they help.

    Step 1:

If the problem occurred recently, perform the System Restore to the point that your computer was working normally.

    Step 2:

Test the issue in a new user account and check if the problem persists.

  • Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.

I tried running Outlook.exe / resetnavpane because I see it worked for a ton of people - but I got the error message "cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook.  The command line argument is not valid.  Check the switch you are using.

This is almost always due to:

    1. you have an older version of Outlook that does not have command line switch.  What version of Outlook you have?
    2. you have not put a space between "Outlook.exe" and "/ resetnavpane.

Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window.
