    Hello

As you have lost the product key of the Tower, you will need to contact the manufacturer of your computer.

Ask them to send you a set of recovery disc for your model computer reinstall the operating system to how it was when new.

The relocation method preceding normally does not require allows you to provide a product key during Installation, the recovery process uses the Installation product key factory to activate automatically during the resettlement process.

How can I get the key...? Windows 7 Home Premium...

    Original title: activate Windows

Using your recovery win disks you do according to your instructions from PC manufacturers, when you got the PC, or even dial that PC manufacturers support to request the recovery discs, for which there will be a small fee

(Using disk recovery does not require any key to be entered)

    Hey jamman20

as you have deleted your key finder disk programs hard won't help you with this

I suggest that you contact your manufacturing it and explain your situation and ask them to send you a set of vista recovery disc

recovery discs generally don't require an input product key to serve you

check with them on this subject that we cannot help you with it

Your laptop probably came with Windows preinstalled. If so, the key, it was installed with is not * your * key. ; It is a General key used by the manufacturer for the preinstallation of Windows on * several * computers. This key, which got you with "Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder" is not the same color as the NCB on the sticker on the laptop, and it is not the key you need to reinstall Windows.

Contact the manufacturer of the laptop to know what to do.

    Hey kimberlynothis

If you have already reinstalled vista and you don't know the product key we can not help you

If you had contacted these forums before you reinstalled vista we helped you with key finder programs

but as this is a new installation of vista not activated we cannot help you find the product key

If it is preinstalled, I suggest that you contact the manufacturer of your computer and ask them about recovery disks

normally, they do not require you to select a product key when you use them to reinstall vista

you don't say how you reinstalled vista

  • Windows XP operating system does not accept the product key on the COA label

    Hi all

After moving to get my laptop fixed I decided it was for long a new copy of Windows XP.
After formatting the hard drive, I can't find my recovery cd!

So I decided to borrow my CD Windows XP Professional of brothers, which I'm sure that Service Pack 2 has built in.

When you try to use my product key on the COA label under the laptop he simply refuses to accept it. :(
Any ideas? I use the wrong version of windows?

The label says 'Windows XP Professional 1-2CPU'
Can I get the Toshiba recovery cd or that would be too expensive.

Any advice would be great, thank you very much.
    Concerning
    Jay.

    Hello

    > Can I get the Toshiba Recovery CD or who would be too expensive.
Yes, it is possible. You can order the recovery of the AEP CD in your country and it should be cheap

I m not 100% sure why the key to the COA label cannot be accepted. Maybe you laptop came with XP Home Edition only and that is why it does not work with XP PRO.

  • Can we use this product key on the back of the laptop for the activation and the windows 7 Professional 32-bit to windows 7 Professional 64-bit upgrade?

I have a laptop HP originally shipped with windows 7 32-bit professional. Now I want to upgrade to windows 7 professional 64 bit. I don't have with me installation disk. So I thought that it is possible (and legal) to resume an installation of windows 7 professional 64 bit disc from a friend and use this product key on the back of my laptop computer to activate windows after the installation of 64-bit? I'm a bit confused.

NOTE: This sticker on the laptop has windows 7 pro oa, and a product key to 25 digits (xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx) written on it.

In addition, the product ID in the information system in the control panel is OEM.

Yes, you can use the product key located on the COA sticker with a full retail version or the version upgrade Windows 7 Professional disc.

You will need to do a clean install, there is no place on the way to upgrade Windows 7 32 bit to 64 bit.

Using the disk of 64-bit Windows 7, install Windows 7 Windows Easy Transfer Utility from the DVD (to find it, simply navigate to x:\support\migwiz, "x:" is the name of your hard drive. (In this case, you will see a collection of files, the important"that you must search for and double-click is 'migsetup'.) run it and create a DAMP (Windows Easy Transfer file), if you have an external hard drive, you can access it later when you perform a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit disk so you can stored there.

Once you have done this, just do a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit disc. In Windows 7 64 bit disk, start Windows Easy Transfer, follow the wizard screen, tap on which is stored the WET file (external hard drive) and it will restore your personal files and settings. Reinstall the applications needed.

    http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/07/using-Windows-easy-transfer-in-Windows-7/

Boot from the DVD 64 bit Windows 7
    Click Install now
    Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.

You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK

The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.

Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.

You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

  • Find product key Microsoft OS 'lost' on my laptop

    Hello

I recently bought a Satellite u300. I got there an hour required to access my Microsoft Vista product key from the bottom of my laptop. To my horror, the sticker has a few scratches and at least one of the characters is unrecognizable. Another character was overshadowed, but it seems to be part of a '4 '.

My question: "is there another place where I can find the product key? For example, can I get from the recovery disk?

I'm really desperate and would appreciate any help.

    Hello

Why do you need this key. I mean, Don t you must enter somewhere because the recovery is already on and he didn't need a key. The thumbnail is just a proof of purchase for the license of Windows Vista.

Regarding your question: no, there is no other way to find the product key and won´t you need.

    Welcome them

  • Product key on the COA label renovated is damaged and unreadable.

I can't activate and save the copy of Windows XP Pro that was pre-loaded onto a PC refurbished, purchased online we Micro Corp. as the product key on the COA label is damaged and unreadable.  I called their tech support and they told me that they do not keep records and only send tag identification number to Micro soft.  Is there a phone number or e-mail address I can use to contact their technical support for assistance in obtaining the corresponding product key for COA label, or the replacement with a different product key to activate the software?

  • I would like to know how to re - install windows on a laptop with the product key on the back of the laptop.

install windows with the product key

someone I gifted an old laptop with a lot of things about what I don't want and stuff I want is missing. I would like to know how to re - install windows on the laptop with the product key on the back of my laptop.

or, even better, if someone could find me a way to get a disk to restore to factory without purchasing information, which would be awsome.

I thank you for your time and have a good day.

If the laptop is one of the well known brands, he may well have a restore partition.  If you do not have a manual to the user of this computer, then go to the manufacturers website and look for the documentation.  At the very least, you should be able to find information about how to restore the laptop from the recovery partition.

If the restore partition has been decimated, the manufacturer may still have available for a nominal cost of installation diskettes.

  • Cannot read all the letters of the key at the back of my computer

My Win 7 crashed and I need to reinstall it, but can not read all the letters of the key at the back of my computer

It * may * be an alternative solution, if you are patient and persistent.

Attempt to activate by phone and speak to an operator - they will tell you that your current key is locked (they then seek confirmation of your product key). Explain your problem, you must change the key of your sticker, but the thumbnail is unreadable (they could please provide a replacement key?). If all goes well, they will request documentary proof of the sticker, in the form of an e-mail with a picture of the affected tile - and you can proceed from there.

It sometimes takes two or three calls before you get an operator who knows and uses this procedure, but I know that it is possible and happens.

  • I can't read the product key on the bottom of the laptop as the sticker is dissipated.

    product key for help

I bought a mobile phone 2nd hand via personal sales.  The laptop came with Windows Vista home premium installed.  They had erased the hard drive before selling that I expected.  After 3 weeks, I started to have a prompt for assets using a product key.  The sticker on the bottom is quite alert by.  Everything I've read here, says I need a new product key... I do not understand how am I supposed to buy a completely new windows program?

If there is a sticker on the bottom, it's OEM. One thing to check because it of a laptop, whether or not it has a recovery partition you want to restore from.

Click Start > right click on computer > manage > in store > disk management

It can show a recovery/system partition which can be used to update the laptop to the factory settings. If it is there, Google your laptop make/model with 'restore factory settings' and it should tell you how to do (each laptop can be different)

Hope this helps, if not, you can buy a new copy of selling at retail.
