Cannot remove ink cartridges

Hello

I have a photosmart c4480 all-in-one inkjet and I try to delete the cartredges. The printer is on, I opened the door of the cartridge, but transport is on the far left and is not right so I can access it! Please note the printer works fine, apart from that, there is no jam.

This link has all the necessary steps to change a cartridge, but I'm stuck. Help, please!

Thank you

Looks like you have a little trouble to remove the cartridges. Well let's start by making the two most basic resets.

If you can print fine, I suggest sending to the printer a print job or to print a page of test and as transport reaches the middle of the page remove power cord at the back. This should freeze the transport in the open air and allow you to replace the ink.

I would like to know how it goes!

  • Cannot install ink cartridge in Photosmart 7660

I'm having trouble installing a new ink cartridge in the HP Photosmart 7660.  To be precise, I don't know how to get the cartridge under the little metal bar.

Can someone help me with this?

    Thank you very much.

    Hi maddogminnie,

I see that you can not install the cartridges and you have a metal bar that prevents you. You must turn on the printer and the metal bar should move down when you lift the front cover of the printer.

The basic installation Guide, page 12 shows how this. Here's what you can do.

To install or replace the ink cartridges:
    1. If the printer is turned off, press the button control panel of the printer market.
    2. lift the printer cover.
    3. press the print cartridge latch and pull it forward. The print cartridge latch opens automatically.
    4. If you are replacing an ink cartridge, slide the old print cartridge and the store, recycle or throw away.

    Hope this helped... !!

  • HP Laserjet 2605dn - cannot remove toner cartridges

I can't remove the ink of my printer HP Laserjet 2605dn (LJ2605dn). They seem to be stuck on the right side. I already changed the toner on this printer cartridges.

I also have a Laserjet 2600, which uses the same toner cartridges and they are easy to remove and replace.

  • Deskjet 6988 print cartridge 'door' - cannot access ink cartridges

This printer has been giving me excellent service for many years, so I'm not surprised that he can do a little wonky. Yet, any advice would be most appreciated!

Recently, this "door" has popped up, preventing me access to print cartridges:

It seems to say "turn the printer off," or perhaps "turn off and on again," that would be logical, as requiring to do her little dance and restarts. MOST of the time, it does no good. The cartridges just sitting there, and the door rest.

However sometimes turning market causes a mechanism to move, and the door up and down and sometimes stays down.

I saw no references to this 'gate' in the manual. Anyone know what it's called?

Is there a way to force the printer to zero and drop the door? A factory reset did not work.

    Thank you!

    This fixed/figured it out!

Remove the Panel on the right side of the printer. It's like two hooks on the top and two clips on the bottom. Gently pull down to unclip. Upwards, you will see the mechanism that connects the cover to a switch. For me, the wire time the "capture" disengaged, and I need to restore the link so that it is engaged when the lid rises or falls. After that I did, the cartridges behaved normally, and the mysterious "door" is never in the way.

  • Cannot remove the tape on the printer cartridges that came with my new printer according to the instructions.

There is a clear pink band which I couldn't remove a little bit of a corner and have toner all over the fingers to do. The band is perhaps too dry, be flexible, but I can't do it. What can I do?

I have not tried the printer connected to my computer again, because I did not get that far in the installation instructions.

    Hi gmaharriet,

Looks like that you actually remove the strip of copper flex of the cartridge. Remove more of the band with blue or pink tab is not covered by the warranty of the cartridge. You will need to purchase a new cartridge to complete the setup of the printer. Take a picture of the cartridge and then attach it to this post.

Please see the following for a good removal of the protective film.

  • HP DESKJET Ink Advantage 2010: Should I remove the Deskjet printer ink cartridge during transport?

Hello! I want to ask you if anyone can tell me how to correctly carry a printer?

I use the printer for 2 days (so ink cartridges have been placed only 2 days ago) and would like to know if:

    1. I have to remove the cartridges. If I remove and reinsert will still be usable?

    2. it's OK to carry the printer on the side if the cartridges are inside. Or I have to carry the item in its upright position?

I hope someone can help me as soon as possible because I'm leaving tomorrow morning.

    Thank you!

    Hello @nikkiyzq,

Thank you for visiting the Forums from the HP Support! I hope that's going to happen to you until you leave. Take a look below for instructions of proper care for the HP cartridges:

Storage and handling of the ink cartridges

I do not recommend storing the printer on the side, you do not want any ink to flee.

I hope that answers your questions.

  • How to remove, head clean print Photosmart C6380. 6515 Photosmart ink cartridge compatibility

I had found information several months ago on how to remove and clean the print head, but I can't find it now.  I replaced the Photosmart C6380 with a 6515 Photosmart because when the 6380 stopped working I had to buy a large amount of ink and the 6515 used the same ink cartridge #.  However, the 6515 will not accept the cartridges with the error message they are an older generation.  I think that if the cartrides were not compatible, a number of different cartridge should be used.  So now, I want to try to solve the problem with the C6380 printhead, so I don't have to trash my entire ink supply.

Here is a document on how to clean the contacts on the cartridges themselves.

I think that the removal of the print head and of cleaning you're wanting is in this post here.

Please note that soaking the print head should only be performed on the print heads that are out of warranty. Check that warranty end date to the printhead located by the contacts on the print head to make sure he went from warranty. The reason I put in custody which is a printhead soaking, a guarantee will be cancelled.

  • Photosmart 6520: cannot use HP ink cartridges

That is to say there is a way to set up this printer to accept ink cartridges HP no?

If it's not official HP ink, you know never really what he could do. Despite the official toner prices, you would be better to stick with it. They cannot much help out if toner unoffical screws to the top of your printer.

  • Cannot print in black and white when the yellow ink cartridge is low on ink

Someone please tell me that the guy I talked to customer service is a fool and there is a way to print black and white, once your color cartridge runs out of ink.

If this isn't the case, it's the cheapest clamp, all the money that I've ever heard of.  Someone please tell me they did sink that low.

Printers that have individual ink cartridges (separate magenta, yellow and cyan) must have all the colors, mounted so as to ensure that the printhead to dry out and is not damaged. Some printers who have integrated print heads (that just take the 2 black and tricolor cartridges) have the ability to print in what is known as a reserve mode. That is where we remove the empty cartridge and is able to print a test page to determine if the printer can operate in reserve mode until a replacement can be purchased. The reason for the cartridges to install, is that the printer uses ink for other purposes in addition to printing. It is also used to maintain the printer. Here is a link to learn more about this topic. He will also discuss the topic of the reserve mode as well.
