Cannot start the new hard drive after clone on T61p

I have a T61p which had a Hitachi HD of 100G.  I bought through Lenovo a Toshiba 500 G HD placed in the location of the laptop HD, put the old HD 100 G in an ultrabay adapter when we normally DVD drive and booted from a Clonezilla Live USB 4 G drive.  I made one device to device taking the detault options.  Seems to have worked without any problems.  I change all parameters of the pre box office IBM.

BIOS is set to boot the HD in the laptop HD slot, then the HD in the ultrabay slot.  However, after start-up, it seems I'm now start from the old drive in the ultrabay adapter.  Windows Vista disk management shows the two discs, and it shows both drives, even with a score of 700M, then roughly a score of 93G.  The new HD has the rest of the unallocated space, which is ok since I use Vista or GPARTED to decompress.  The old HD has a flag "boot" game, and both car are "active".

If I take the HD in the ultrabay outside housing, I get a black screen with a title of Manager of Windows startup with three options, then the error below:

file: \windows\system32\winload.exe

status: 0xc000000e

DESC: the selected entry could not be loaded because the application is missing or damaged.

I have googled and looked through this forum and found several hits, but I don't know what I see.  I saw where someone had used Norton Ghost with the - ib switch, but I have used Clonezilla.  Any ideas?

ALSO, how can I know if I have successfully copied the pre box office IBM?  and if I have to put hormaux or people with reduced mobility, where could I do?

Problem solved.  Since then I cloned the drive and which included the partition predesktop area/hidden from IBM, so with the old drive in the ultrabay being removed housing, I was able to start using the blue thinkvantage key when starting of the machine.  From there, I could run a repair that solved the problem.  Now, the new disc has the 'boot' flag and cannot be used for a startup in Windows Vista.

    Hi Ken

It would be nice to know the name of cell exactly.
I guess that the BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive due to the size of the HARD drive.

It would be very interesting to know if the HARD disk is compatible with this laptop and supported

You can move the windows on a new computer

If it's a full license or upgrade retail - Yes. You can move it to another computer as long as it is installed on a single computer at a time (and if it's a Windows 7 Upgrade version the new computer must have its own license of qualification). The previous Windows installation on your old computer must be formatted or deleted. You will have to perhaps call Microsoft and explain what happened to complete activation. Turning it on the second computer will automatically be in effect 'disable' the license for the first computer.

If it's an OEM license - don't. OEM licenses, including Windows preinstalled on a computer before purchase and Windows purchased separately, are related to the first computer, they are installed on and cannot be transferred to another computer. To install Windows on another computer, you will need to buy another copy.

  • CS3 will not activate on the new hard drive after the failure of an old man.

I had a hard drive fail on my Mac and got a new. The operating system before and after were OS 10.10 (Yosemite). I reinstalled CS3 and entered my serial number. It does not accept as a correct serial number. I sent support of Adobe. They said: Yes, it is the correct serial number. I asked what I could do, they said "Try the Forums." So here I am.

The problem is probably that CS3 is not really supported in Yosemite.

What others have experienced, is that If CS3 is already on the computer, you can continue to function, even if you have updated to Yosemite. But many have had problems installing CS3.

Because CS3 is old and is not officially supported you unfortunately are on your own.

  • cannot add the new hard drive more than 2 TB on vsphere upgrade 5

can someone give me a clue? I can't add new greater than 2 TB drive to my vm on my upgraded vsphere 5.0. My data store is 6 TB and already read by vsphere... I create new virtual machine and add the new drive, but it limits again just 2 TB when I change 4 TB, the error message will appear. I recently added my datastore LUN with VMFS5 version. is there a any mistake I made? Please help me this problem is so frustrating me... i need to create new disk 6 TB to my new file server

    Hello.

You will need to use a RDM in physical Compatibility Mode to achieve. As weinstein5 said, a VMDK cannot be greater than 2-to-512bytes. You can use the OS to spread over several 2 TB-512bytes VMDK, if that's what you really want.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite M45 - does not start after restoration on the new HARD drive

I installed a new PATA 250 GB HDD on my pc. The BIOS is configured to boot from CD/DVD. Toshiba Recovery disk started cold, start follow-up statement to load a new system on the HARD drive. He made a (quick) format on the HARD drive, spent 50 minutes, copy the files from the CD to the new HARD drive. Followed the instructions to remove the CD and reboot the pc. Did. I get the Toshiba homepage for 2-3 seconds, and then I get a white screen with a white block cursor in the upper corner of the LH of the screen. Looks like it does not find the block on the HARD disk?
The procedure of collection 3 times with the same results. Checked the BIOS to check that it is configured to boot from the HARD disk after installation.

The recovery CD is blank. Never used because I bought the PC (3.5 years). Put the new HARD drive in a USB enclosure and formatted with Windows, tried again with the same result? Put the old HDD, PC starts and works very well. Put the live CD Knoppix and boot from that, works very well. See the new HARD drive.

Thus, any suggestions are appreciated. The recovery CD Toshiba is defective? In any case to test?

    Thank you
    -J

    Hello

Sounds like a problem with the recovery disk or the new HARD disk if your computer starts up fine with the old HARD drive...

In your case before you start a lengthy discussion, you should try a Microsoft Windows disk to install Windows. If he work it seems that only the recovery disk is defective.

Otherwise, the HARD disk must be defective. Maybe a bad sector or something else

  • After Vista update cannot find the external hard drive, AutoPlay does not work, and new unusable disk appears under my computer

After Vista update cannot find the external hard drive, AutoPlay does not work, and new unusable disk appears under my computer. Also I can't 'manage' my computer because I do not have "permissions". I tried a fix he 45071 and it did nothing.

Applications, (Norton and McAfee) (including free evaluation versions are notorious for not not upgrade (or uninstalling) itself.) If NIS has been installed for 3 years, you have NIS update at least once and maybe twice (e.g., NIS 2009 > NIS 2010 > NIS 2011).

[You may want to print these instructions for reference offline. If a step said to reboot, reboot.]

    1. download the Norton Removal Tool, save it to your desktop: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/Norton_Removal_Tool.exe

    2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

    3. After completing some you have a copy of your handy product key, uninstall all Norton software (including LiveUpdate and everything Norton Add ons) viaControl Panel | Programs | Uninstall a program (or Control Panel |) Programs and features, if you are using the classic view).

4 IMPORTANT! -Online activate Windows Firewall immediately after the restart.

NB: Now you're "working without a net": no to ANYTHING else online (e.g., navigation, reading e-mail, chat) until you have completed step #7 below!

    5. right click on the file that you saved in step #1 above, and then select run as administrator.  DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

    6. do a clean install of NIS 2011 (using your product ID, if need be) & reboot. CF. http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080514162318EN

NOTE: Do NOT activate or install additional modules of Norton (for example, Norton Anti-Phishing) immediately.

    7. manually and repeatedly run LiveUpdate (Norton) until you get a prompt "no update more".

    8. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 & run the difficulty.

    9. open Internet Explorer (only) to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 & run that set it by DEFAULT and modes and AGGRESSIVE. [1]

  • Cannot install Vista on the new hard drive

    original title: Please help!

I have a dell laptop inspiron 1720, not the newest I know but it surfs the web. At least it used to. I had some sort of virus or something and my hard drive kept bluescreening on me. I said, well I want to do this thing faster and have more space anyway. Out a ram 1 g got 4g, out went the 120gig and got a 250. Went to reinstall dell support stuff and it went well. Then had my vista disk and started to install. Expanded files ok and everything. You all the way to the install tab end and nothing happens? Don't know what else to do? Any help would be great.

Turns out I'm only semi retarded. My friend told me since I have a new hard drive, I would probably need to first load the driver for it. Then I got to the part when you choose a car and chose to load drivers. Of course I had to change discs in the middle of install and load a driver for the new hard drive and everything went smoothly after that.

    THX, Philippe

    Hello

This device was shipped with 20 GB HARD drive.
    You again is 40 GB.
I guess that the BIOS does not recognize the HARD drive because of the size.

It is possible, that this new hard drive is not compatybille with this laptop?

Please help, because it's my boss laptop :(

P.S. - sorry for peut English

    Hello

Are you sure that the HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS?
Seems that the laptop does not support the new drive (100 GB, 7200 RPM).

Perhaps because of the large size of HARD drive and the fast rotation value.
I would try to use a 60GB 5400 RPM a 80 GB HARD drive maybe works but it seems that the 100 GB HARD drive is not compatible

I have the original Windows HP recovery disk came with the computer.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image on disks created with Macrium Reflect two days ago.

I also have a recovery disc and a system image is created on an external hard drive Seagate two days ago. (I've read mixed reviews on these is currently working as a media of rescue with Win7 Pro).

I guess if I use the HP recovery disc I would be then just use any system image I prefer, without the recovery disk. Anyone know if it makes a difference at all which method to use?

    bozzle73

My recommendation would be to restore using the image of MR (Macrium Reflect) you did.

But then, I used Mr. on all my PCs for years and am a big fan - having had it Miss ever in the years and years of use.

You will need boot from the boot of MR media (you did that right) and, if you photographed all the required partitions for the operating system, restore it on the new drive should take a few minutes, and when this is done, you reboot and everything should be OK.

    Good luck

  • SMU 8108 does not start with the new hard drive

    Hello

    I am currently using SMU 8108 with SMU-1062 q.

The previous record was borken, so I had to install a new hard drive.

The new hard drive is fommatted as NTFS format, and it is currently mounted on 8108.

Unfortunately, I don't have recovery disk available to the general public so I am trying to install Windows 7 on a blank hard drive.

When you start, the LED OK PWK light is all the time, orange DRIVE LED turns on for a few seconds only when I turn on the switch.

LabVIEW RT switches are all off, I cleared CMOS several times to the Board of Directors, but the screen does not show anything.

I tried to use my DVI monitor with any other device as well, and it worked, so there is no problem with the monitor.

In addition, I tried to go in window safe mode by pressing F8 or Del it didn't work, so I can't see anything on the screen when his kick upward.

I tried to put a lot of information I can it will be very appreciated if you can help me with this problem please.

You said that you can't in Windows safe mode, you have installed Windows on the hard drive?  Are you able to get into the BIOS of the controller?

If you are not able to access the BIOS for the controller, it may be due to bad RAM.  If you are uncomfortable installing RAM and you have a few extra laptop RAM of the same type (I think it's the DDR3 for your controller) laying around, you can try to replace the RAM.

Was your hard drive damaged through certain events, or it just stop working?
