Cannot start Webcam on Satellite A200 - 1 M 5

Hi everyone, hope you can help me!

I can't start my Webcam on my laptop... I don't know what the problem is exactly

I downloaded the driver from here

But it still does not work... Even if I open the Msn Messenger, the Webcam button shows up

& This is my model of laptop: Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 M 5 PSAE0E

Wish you can help me

Ahmed

Hello

How have you tried to install it?
Did you remove the old driver of the webcam?

I recommend you all first delete the old software, and then restart the laptop.
Then, you use a freeware tool called CCleaner.
Run this tool, clean the registry and the system and then install the new software.

Good luck

  • Preinstaled Vista does not start on my Satellite A200

    Hello.
Im having problems with my laptop and desperately need help.
    Laptop is a Toshiba Satellite A200 model n PSAF6A-07G01N.
    Under Vista 32 bit.
    BIOS is Phoenix TrustedCore.

I'll run you through the events:
Downloaded updates to the BIOS from the toshiba site. BIOS 2.5

Everything worked very well after you restart the computer.

Have never defragged my hard drive so downloaded Piriform Defraggler 2.00.230

Ran the program and the computer on the left.

Came back later and blue screen. NA not take notes error codes, but remember seeing 'disable the Bios memory options such as implementing caching or shading' and there was also a message from physical memory dump.

I tried to restart the computer, but can only go beyond the Green loading bar of microsoft and then stops at a black screen with only the cursor at this stage having disable because nothing else can be done.

Laptop starts up fine in safe mode.

I uninstalled the program Piriform Defraggler, thinking that this may be the problem.

I have 2 options when the computer starts up normally 'repair your computer (recommended)' or 'start windows normally '. If I select 'Repair your computer' I just get a message saying if iv recently installed programs to uninstall and if iv connected an external device to the computer to remove it and the problem cannot be resolved and to send a report to Microsoft.

IV tried to use the restoration of the system, but for some reason, there is no restore point.

IV tried "Last good known Configuration" function in the advanced boot options but no change.

IV entered my properties of drive in safe mode and is sure that "activate the cache of disk write" is not enabled.

IV made sure my BIOS is on the default settings.

Now I'm at a loss full as to what I should do next?
A defragged program deleted something that it shouldn't? Or did the update of the BIOS something that it shouldn't?

As a last option, I don't really want to do, if I run the "Toshiba recovery wizard" that the problem will be solved?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    See you soon!

I n t want to speculate on what the problem may be, but the fact is that preinstalled Vista is doomed.
There is no guarantee that you will be able to get it working again.

In my opinion the best option for you is to install Vista using Toshiba recovery disc.
Prior to this, start the operating system in safe mode and back up all your important data.

Toshiba Recovery Wizard has no repair option. It can be used for any new OS install.
By the way: why you don t want to reinstall the OS? Want you good working OS or want to spend days trying to solve this problem?

  • Webcam on Satellite A200 does not work with Windows Media Encoder

Material: TOSHIBA Satellite A200 (1GH) with built-in Chicony webcam.

    PROBLEM:
When I use the software Chicony webcam - it works allright (video recorded normally).
BUT: when I have Chicony software from Windows Media Encoder (preinstalled with Vista) - when I try to select the webcam as input device - and closing the error reported is "the device is not ready".

This error also repeated if I select for driver webcam Microsoft instead of native driver Chicony webcam.

    Hello

Download the latest driver Chicony and the software for the Toshiba page and install it.
Don t forget to remove the old version.

In addition, if you get the error message like webcam is used by another application or "device is not ready you must start the msconfig and should turn off and turn on webcam chicony and process service.»

If you are 100% sure that your laptop is BT all you need to do is the WLAN switch on IT and after doing this, you should be able to use the FN + F8 key combination. Test it!

    Hello

Have you tried another recovery option?

I suggest you to press the F8 key as the computer starts up to the top and check the option in the advanced boot menu.

Advanced, including safe mode startup options

If you are able to open the advanced boot menu then you can execute the menu command prompt and type the command and check.

    Type CHKDSK c:/r or

    Type CHKDSK c:/f

Important: even if running chkdsk on the drive if any bad sectors are found, chkdsk attempts to repair this sector and if all data on this sector it could get lost.

If you are not able to perform the steps then you may need to get the Vista installation DVD. You can contact the manufacturer for more details.

  • Built-in webcam for Satellite A200 (PSAF6A) does not work properly

    Hello world

The webcam works fine once the system starts. But sometimes after the laptop is idle for a while or return to standby mode, the webcam does not work and a "Graphics rendering failed" error message appears when I try to turn on the webcam of the built-in Camera Assistant Software.
And I don't think that happens only happens on this machine: I got a replacement of the same model due to an error which is not related to the webcam, and again the same problem happened on this machine.

I tried different drivers on the site of Toshiba (AUS) and the driver of webcam usb by default by Microsoft, but the same result... I also read through the forum of Toshiba. Most related threads did not mention the "Graphics rendering failed" error message. I think that this problem is caused by a defective software by Microsoft or Toshiba; and the reason being that the webcam worked after the system starts and with the premise of no change in material or displacement of the laptop, it stops working after a short inactivity or return to sleep.

PS: I also reinstalled windows many times continue the recovery DVDs...

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
    Tony

In my view, this problem could be related to the graphics card driver.
I saw this error message (failure of the graphics rendering) while playing a few games.

So in my opinion, this isn't just a question of webcam.

Try to update the graphics driver. I put t know exactly what graphics card you have, but try this sites:

  • Cannot start WebCam

I've recently updated my laptop TOSHIBA for Windows Vista to Windows 7. Before I could raise my built-in webcam or find it in a search. With this new Windows 7 I can't find it. How do my Webcam for this new program in Windows 7?

    Hello

You must load the drivers of the device Windows 7 at Toshiba. References to Vista also apply to the
    Window 7 here.

Double-click Control Panel / Device Manager - Imaging - writing down of the brand and model of camera.
on this subject and on the tab of the driver is version. Now, click on update drivers (who are unable to do anything as MS
is far behind the pilots of certification). RIGHT click on the camera - UNINSTALL - REBOOT - it
    will update the driver stack.

Now, go to the system manufacturer's website and download the latest driver for the camera and the other related camera
software (if not more recent get the same).

Just you'd go to Toshiba Support and get the driver for your model laptop.

    Go to your model.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/support/JSP/home.jsp?NAV=download

Good time to get some other updates here.

Download - SAVE - go to them and RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - reboot after each driver.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

If you update the drivers manually, then it's a good idea to disable the facilities of driver in the Windows updates,
This leaves ONE of Windows updates, but it will not install the drivers who are generally older and cause
questions. If updates offers a new driver and then hide it (right click on it) and then go look for new ones
    manually if you wish.

  • Cannot start HP Support Assistant,

Cannot start HP Support Assistant - always get the message "HPSF.exe has stopped working" and need to close.  I have a HP TouchSmart 610 running under Windows 7 64-bit.  TouchSmart works not properly, but used to work.  Cannot start webcam either.  I totally lost to the search on the HP website for a solution.

The version that is in your Web page - and that I gave you to date is an update only.

    Rats.

Search your Recovery Manager for the original software:

    • Start > search / type "Recovery Manager" > click here to open the program
    • You want "Immediate aid" and search for "reinstall drivers and Applications.
    • Wait for the list to build...
    • Search for HP Support Assistant - version, of what I can extrapolate from what I see now, should be a version 5.x - perhaps 5.1.x or 5.2.x
    • When you find HPSA, reinstall it.
    • Reboot the system after installation.

Assuming that installs it the software (from the Recovery Manager), you can then use

    sp54931 V6.1.12.1 HPSA Rev A

update the software and take advantage of the fixes contained in this package.

    ==================================================================================

I can't find the original HPSA to your exact system type.  I hope you find your software in your Recovery Manager.

I find the reference to the last update - 7.0.39.15 revision A

I heard that, in some systems, version 7.x has exposed problems (constant reboot requests).  This will be fixed by HP and it won't be long until the issue is resolved.  Your system may not even be affected - you can always try it later if the current problems are resolved.

If the original HPSA software is not in the Recovery Manager, it can be elsewhere in your system...

    Let me know.

If all else fails, we could try HPSA for a similar system of TouchSmart - the worst it will do is not installed.

  • Satellite A200 - once installation of Karspersky cannot start the CAM software

    Guys I need help...

I have download the Karspersky antivirus 2009 and I install on my Toshiba Satellite A200-gs1 psaece
He acknowledged the cec_main.exe as virus and block...
I put it in the exclusion list, it does not continue the works, and when I started my laptop it said «cannot run cec_main.exe...» ».

I remove the program and install it again I ve put again to the exclusion list.
Now it's the turn of say on your camera when I m running my cam program.
I put t know what I should do...

    Here is the cure:
Probably a good idea to go to Toshiba and download the latest version of the software for the camera to your computer. Do not open this software. Go to the control panel and remove the existing camera Assistant software. Open the Kaspersky software and click settings then click threats and exclusions under the Options tab. Click on the zone of confidence. Click on approved Applications. If CEC_MAIN.exe exists, delete it. Restart the computer.
May be a good idea to delete your internet cable because we do a right-click on the Kaspersky shortcut and click PROTECTION of PAUSE. This is a must! Probably best to set for a 10 minute break. Close this menu and then open Kaspersky. Go to settings > threats and Exclusions > Trusted Zones > objects > Add + > and type in manually or copy and paste the following text exactly as shown below:

C:\Program Camera Assistant Software for Toshiba\CEC_MAIN.exe

exclusionary rules, to allow CEC_Main.exe to be a trusted application. Then reinstall the software assistant camera. Kaspersky should always be in pause mode, but will let you know maybe CEC_MAIN.exe to contain a virus.
Ignore, but look for the option on this same screen that will allow you to add this as a trusted application. It's the key to this... Kaspersky should be paused during the reinstallation of the software. Once you tell Kaspersky to add this as a trusted application, your installation should be completed. REBOOT and the problem is over.

  • Cannot start Recovery on my Satellite A200-1N5

    I need help please

I can't do the recovery of my Satellite A200-1N5.
When the recovery DVDs starts is a message says that windows couldn't start .a recent hardware or software change might be the cause (and then I followed the instructions but no change coming)

    Best regards

    Thank you.

    Hello

In my opinion recovery didn't start at all. Please, start your laptop and press the F12 key. Keep it down for a few seconds and the start menu appears. Choose the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.

If all goes well you'll hear running the CD/DVD drive and the activity on the screen.
