Canon Pixma iP1700 reports a paper jam

All of a sudden my Canon Pixma iP1700 does not feed the paper in rolls.  It seems to be a blockage on the right side of the roller.  It keeps telling me there is a paper jam, but I know it does not exist.  The printer worked fine until this week.

Hello

(1) have tried to update the printer driver and check if the problem is resolved?

(2) I would also like to know what operating system you use and if all changes made on your computer before the show?

If the drivers are up to data and there is no problem on your system software, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the equipment and get the printer checked.
Please click on the link below to check how to contact the hardware manufacturer support.

So - Canon... Support this printer (PIXMA iP1700) in Windows 8?

Looking for drivers for this printer under the section...
'Windows 8 x 64' - "there is no driver for the Version of the selected BONE."

There are however - software and tools...

My assumption would be, so you need to try to install a driver they included with Windows 8 (Canon supplied to Microsoft - probably a generic) to solve your problem.  If you need help with that - you should contact Canon.

  • HP LaserJet 1022: Reset fails to kill orange light after the paper jam. I try next?

I followed the instructions to reset this (quite old) printer after he picked up several sheets at once and it reported a paper jam. He was not in fact any paper left inside, but I gave it a clean anyway.  By pressing the two buttons for reset, I get three lights in unison, but when I release, it goes back to flashing orange and still think there is a jam. Never had a problem persisting like this before. A packed his little brain?

  • I have a massive (10 pages) paper jam in my canon pixma mx432

My printer was printing a job, when I noticed there was only 2 pieces of paper left so I tried to add a little more and he must have done at the wrong time... now there are 15 pages of paper stuck and I can see them at the entrance and the exit tight... Will not pump even a page on the entrance... Is there any help or have I damaged the printer forever? Tried all the suggestions of paper jam... but my jam is way, way also!

Solved! How?  Take binoculars and take a bunch of paper (10 sheets) from the feeder... pull really hard... I started from the bottom and got out the leaves 30 +... Lesson learned... Not slam in addition to paper while the printer prints!

  • Photosmart C4580 all-in-One report of a paper jam. My C4580 keeps showing an error report "paper jam".

My C4580 continues to show a 'Paper jam' error report after starting upwards.  The cartridge carriage moves to the left.  The trolley is entirely free to move and there is no resistance when moved to the far left and far right.  I have followed closely all the help online that I can find on the website of HP, and nothing has solved this problem.

    Can anyone offer a solution?

    Thank you in advance.

A true and false paper jam troubleshooting - will be performed in the same way.  Therefore, an area that is difficult to see and easy to Miss completely on the right inside the printer.  Make sure that it is not a small amount of paper caught on the right side of the print head.

Also, check the steps in the document is located here.

Let me know how it goes.

  • The Pixma iP8720 print on paper of lb 61 230 g /?

Can Pixma iP8720 printer power supply & print paper 8.5 x 11 230gsm/61 lbs without rejection or interference? Use this paper for photo printing photo soft cover on an Epson WF 30 book covers. I need a printer better, and I am committed to buy this Canon Pixma iP8720 if it can print on this thick paper at 99%.

    Thank you, Russ

    Hi brassman.

The PIXMA iP8720 can use plain paper that is 17 to 28 lb (64-105 g/m2) (with the exception of the authentic Canon document) and paper other than Canon authentic specialty up to 53 lbs (200 g/m2).  We do not recommend to use paper that is lighter or heavier than the weight of paper in the printer, as they can jam or damage to the printer.

For printers that can handle up to 61 paper books, we recommend our Professional Photo Inkjet.  These printers can handle up to 93 lb (350 g / m2) using the manual when the food tray of the printer.

    I hope this helps!

  • OfficeJet Pro 6230: Officejet Pro 6230 continous (not of paper) paper jam error

As soon as the printer powers on it the ink carrier Wizz backward real quick (as he struggles to move) and then gives me a paper jam error (the resume light flashes and error appears on my screen). He did the same thing when I try to print anything (including the status report page).

When I up the access panel upward (power on), the carrier of ink isn't even move to ink cartridges which can be changed. I try to move with force, but it does not move (if I use more strength, somethings will break). Ink is a bit new, so I don't know it still has ink in there.

    The steps I've tried:

plugged the power supply into the wall outlet

    roller cleaning

THERE IS NO PAPER or PAPER PIECES BETWEEN ROLLERS (I checked like 20 times)

    reset the printer

There is a large black gear coupled to a white average speed on the left side near the bottom of the printer. I manually drove the speed by pressing (rotation) of North (or forward or to the rear of the printer) for a few seconds and once I did that. the ink carrier was able to move as it's supposed to, and I could see the ink. but once the power is back on, the carrier of ink was in the locked position and fights again and gives me the paper jam error.

I don't have really any troubleshooting documents on the CV online on how to fix a jammed media of ink and clearing paper jams, so I'm out of options.

    It is plugged into USB

The main problem is the paper jam error.

I don't know if the stuck carrier of ink is the cause.

  • OfficeJet 6600: Paper jam resulted in ink system failure

Paper jam resulted in the failure of the inkjet system. Error 0 x 61000016 is reported.

I tried troubleshooting basic procedures, but the track of the cartridge seems to be poorly aligned, that is, when I opened the door, only the black cartridge is available. This is definitely not normal.

The above error messages persist after stopping and restarting. Replace cartridges results in the same error.

The jam massive caused many, many problems. I had to fish out bits and bits of paper of all nooks and crannies.

Too boot, when it was all cleared up I had to cold start the printer, remove and reinstall all the cartridges (because the printer is no longer recognized an any of them) and go through a three step routine cleaning print head.

    Very messy.

But the good news is that everything is all right work

My next gripe is about the ongong with cartridges properly filled with Staples, Costco, and al that so-called re - define the chip in the cartridges.

    That never works.

The result is that the printer does not recognize an original HP cartridge when it is filled again and then starts the everlong question when a cartridge is empty actually.

Of course, I know when a cartridge is empty, it weighs about 19 grams.

But we should not do that math.

I understand that HP would love everyone to buy their cartridges, but they cost way too new.

Seems average spririted. I could be wrong, but we are all in this together.

The ink is ink. I think HP should be a little more forgiving for us "little guys" who need to pinch pennies.

    Just saying '

    Rainman

P.S.: And Yes, I agree the continuous message on 'counterfeit cartridges' when I plug a Costco filled HP cartridge. They are not counterfeit, they are actual filled HP cartridges of actual real RGB ink! And, of course, I accept the responsibility addressed by the messages of ad nauseam when I insert these original re-filled HP cartridges. They seem to work well. Perhaps there could be a happy medium where HP could give a little and the moniter ink levels. Of course, I can continue to weigh the cartridges when the print head cleaning routine fails to get good results. But again, HP should be a little more friendly and less motivated in this respect of profit.

But having said that, the disorder shoot works great, and I appreciate it!

  • HP 401n false paper jam error

I have a HP Laserjet M401N printer that displays the error "Paper jam" on my default printer but the paper path is clear and verified with multiple eyes, the printer LCD is 'ready' and I can print the pages from the printer config and the printer web interface, but not through the properties of printer or any test page box I have send.

On our print server, the printer is also referred to as "paper jam", and I don't see a way to clear the error message.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks Dave,.

We could always connect to the printers web interface and even print pages of config here and in the reports menu on the printer itself.  Yesterday afternoon, after I posted I have updated the firmware of printers that does not seem to help, and then after I did a factory reset which does not solve the problem BUT, five minutes later, the error of jam allowed in the queue of the network printers and it has been fine since.  You wonder now if a dns flush and register on our print server would have also worked.

    But I'm ready, thank you!

  • Difficulty C4400 c4480 false paper jam

I have a C4480 who has developed a false paper jam a week after the warranty missed.

The methods referenced to clear paper, reset the printer has not set. After not getting any useful help articles proposed, I started looking through this forum. I found a reference to the transparent plastic wheel loosens which controls the operation. I removed the cover on the left side and find the wheel.  In my case mine was very well attached.  I used a dusting the air compressed spray between the sensor and the transparent plastic wheel.

Hah! that fixed it! Apparently dust can accumulate in the slot of the sensor.  While it takes a Torx T-10 to, this isn't a hard difficulty. I have now printed 5 copies of a report on page 11.

I had additional false paper jams. About twice a year.

First top fix applied in this thread, removed the left cover and cleaned clear wheel and dust clear wheel base optical sensors. Has not fixed the problem.

Fixed the most recent with roller cleaning with wet paper towels with clear water.

Open A back door for access. Wiping with above a wet paper towel rolls.

    Open cartridge door:

Transport has moved all the way to the right.

    Removed cartridges

Clean the intermediate rolls behind were transport moves

Rolls of paper cleaned on the Board output.

    Cleaned Dust-Off

    Now it it works again!
