Capricious monitor problem

My monitor does not work unless I unplug it and a plug, I have Windows Vista. Vista load upward (I hear it in the background!) but I have a black screen.  Then I have to unplug the monitor, plug it in again and it manifests as usual.  This problem started a week ago.  Can you shed some light on the problem of you? Thank you.

Hi, thanks for the response.  I only have one monitor for my pc!  Have not all "backups".  The problem has been solved now anyway.  I also had a problem with my DVD/CD rom that just stopped one day of work.  I didn't know what was going on.  BUT... After spending 3 hours looking at patches complicated for these two problems, I followed the advice of a kind soul who said why not try pulling the plug of my pc (main link) and put it again.  I did this, don't expect much and... guess what?  It worked!  I couldn't believe, do this thing simple respolved these two problems and everything now works perfectly again.

It never occurred to me to try such a basic thing! Maybe this will help you to other people who, like me, maybe can't see the forest for the trees sometimes!

  • 7.1 iMac monitor problems

On restart, the screen saver seems fine... for about a half second.  Something happens which causes become very dark and too saturated colors.  The monitor calibration does not help.  By pressing 'shift' to reboot and then the connection has not helped.  Suggestions?

Hi and welcome to Apple Support communities,

What happens when you re - calibrate your monitor's color profile?

Calibration involves a number of steps:

Initial setup in which the contrast and brightness are adjusted, then native gamma correction to adjust the brightness of your screen, then the gamma target screen (which is 'desired' your screen gamma level), then the "white point" display for color correction, then the profile "name" and that concludes the basic calibration.

You can also turn on "Expert Mode" If you want to go deeper with your calibration, but it's for users or if basic calibration will not give the expected results...

If you cannot resolve the problem with the OS X screen calibration, then I suggest you have an Apple Store or authorized service provider take a look at your machine to check the defects in the operating system and the hardware.

    Good luck!

    Kind regards

    Peter.

  • Re: Satellite A200-1IZ - external monitor problem

    Hello
I recently bought an IPS monitor for photo editing. I configured the monitor in several ways, such as two monitors or monitors extended, but the image on the external monitor has a few little flicker and the image is not very pleasing to the eyes, a feeling like little refreshment on old monitor, very disturbing for the eyes.
I plugged the monitor into another laptop and the image is much better.

What could be the problem? I have Windows 7 32 bit and Ati Mobility Radeon HD 2600 adapter with the latest drivers.

We do not know what monitor you have exactly, but what is the native screen resolution and what resolution is set to the external monitor when you use it with your laptop?

Recently, I broke the screen on my A2 and until I can afford to get it fixed, want to use a monitor tft external that I have. I use fn and f5 to enable vga but the resolution is all wrong, and when I try to change the tft screen is disabled and it is up to the laptop broken screen I can't see.

Anyone have any ideas on how to solve this problem?

    Thank you

    Hello

I put t know why you suggest that your resolution is fake because I checked the resolution display information and it seems that the max resolution is 1024 x 768.

In addition, FN + F5 key combination doesn't change the screen resolution but display devices. You can use this function to switch from an extended desktop, external display and two screens.
If you want to change the display resolution, so you should go to the display properties. Here, you can change the settings.

    Hello

I tried to connect my NB200-10Z to my LCD TV using a VGA - DVI connector. Now, I have connected my DVI cable into the socket, then the TV.

For some reason any TV is not recognized by the netbook. I tried the FN + F5 key and it only shows the lcd - associated with the netbook screen.

I used to have my other laptop connected to the TV before, so the problem must be with this netbook.

  • Satellite A100 - external LCD monitor problems

I love the world of electronics.
If you have multiple components built by different people, the problem is always the fault of other manufactuers.

I have an A100 and can't seem to find out what happens on the screen, resolution and laptop.
I had this same problem when I first buy the monitor and managed to solve... I worked on it for a few hours without a bit of luck.

The display is an ACER - AL2216W

First, the good native expressed of the monitor is not in the display settings. It has been, but now when I restarted it, it seems to return the monitor to a generic configuration.

Now when I close the laptop the monitor turns off and shows that an entry not supported message.

I have "drivers" but I think those are XP versions for the monitor and there are none that are available on the ACER site. In the box of this monitor said that it is COMPATIBLE VISTA... whatever that means.

I don't know there is more questions about my settings and situations before people can have no idea of what happens, so ask away!

    Help someone?

It might be better to take the laptop to the technician and the technician could check this port. I mean these ports are set on the mobo and it is perhaps necessary to weld a s part.

  • We recently had to reinstall the operating system on our computer, now, there is purple dots on our screen. Is this a problem computer or a monitor problem?

We have a Dell Dimension E521and Dell monitor using NVIDIA drivers.

    Hello

I suggest to update your graphics driver using Windows Update or download the driver for the Dell Web or NVIDIA site.

This problem may be due to graphics driver or overheating.

    I hope this helps.

  • HP 2159 m monitor - problem is 'running ants' vertical lines about 1 mm interval during the video display.

At the following problem troubleshooting steps:

    (1) monitor confirmed cable is properly attached to the monitor and CPU.

    (2) monitor reset to the default settings in the monitor menu.

    (3) installed the latest driver - HP 2159 m 2.0

    (4) installed the latest driver NVIDIA graphics - 285.62

Described as "mobile dash", as vertical lines appear to be 1 pixel wide, several pixels long, black, separated by spaces of many pixels and move vertically (up/down) direction.  Lines are separated by 1 or 2 mm.  On rare occasions, the lines are horizontal rather than vertical.

I see this effect during video playback.  Mobile dots are more pronounced with mid - grey tones.

Rarely see a few stray clusters of white pixels on screen in any of the video areas.

Would appreciate any suggestions to solve.

    Mrwrightrl,

This problem has been successfully resolved by HP nearly 12 months ago.  There is nothing wrong with my monitor is.

It's a graphics card from Nvidia to the wrong address.  I was satisfiled with my HP and support products.

  • HP w2408h monitor problems

I connected my old hp computer to my monitor to be updated and used the vga connection to do. When I tried the HDMI cable on my current machine he wouldn't get a HDMI signal. I plugged the current computer VGA connector and it worked fine, but if I disconnect the signal VGA screen becomes white. I went into the menu and it says that I don't have a HDMI signal. I connected the HDMI cable to my laptop and it works fine. I hope that I've explained this well enough. Basically, I don't get a HDMI signal even though it is set to HDMI on the menu and connected correctly. Thank you.

    Hello again auntnenee,

    Thanks for the quick response!

Based on the information you provided in your post, I recommend performing a hard reset on your monitor. To do this, please follow the steps below:

    1. unplug all the connective cables to the monitor (VGA, HDMI, etc.).

    2. unplug the power cord from the screen and the wall outlet.

    3. press the button power for 30 seconds.

    4. plug the power cord into the wall and then into the monitor.

    5. plug the HDMI cable between your computer and your monitor.

If the problem persists, you can also perform a factory reset on the screen itself. This is possible by accessing the menu. One of the options in the menu should allow you to make a 'Factory Reset'.

Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your response!

  • Icons are too far to the left on the allignment of monitor problem?

The icons on the screen of the monitor are adjusted too far to the left.  If I could reach in and just move the entire screen an inch to the right, it would be good.  I asked a lot of people 'tech' and nobody seems to know how to solve this problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

If only the icons are far to the left, you can simply drag-and - drop icons anywhere.

If the entire screen, including the taskbar is far to the left, you can use the buttons on the monitor to adjust the size of the screen.
