Captivate 9 Downlaod/install
This isn't my first download Adobe however...
I am able to download the 'Z' of the file however trial Captivate 9, it will not be installed. The Download Manager will not be activated.
I lived the 'Support' sensitive Help menu nothing is done - nothing works. I no longer seem to have the Adobe download manager is installed on my computer and a new, it is not enabled when I try to download/install version 9.

When you use the direct Captivate 9 links, you must first follow the instructions step by step important front by clicking on one of the links, otherwise downloads do not work and you will get this message instead...
(Sorry, but it's a quirky requirement of Adobe servers!)

Captivate 9 Enterprise install
I am trying to create a package for Captivate 9 x 64 using JOHN 3.1. It's my first time with JOHN, so I'm probably a beast so apologies in advance.
I downloaded the installation of Captivate files and extracts into a folder (extract). I ran the "Captivate_9_x64_LS21.exe" to extract the files
I have 3 files (packages, resources and useful loads) and extracted set - up.exe in the folder
I run JOHN, select the extracted folder and fill in the name of the Package and save it in. When I click then all fields are read-only, but the screen does not change.
If I click Next again once I got into the Options screen, which says "click on a product name to customize options" but no product displayed.
Any help much appreciated. I suspect that the way that I downloaded and extracted the files is bad.

Solved.
the packer of creative cloud is required for 9 Captivate. I needed to connect you to 'Creative cloud for Enterprise' rather than ' Creative Cloud for Education "as I normally do to see the option you want.

Installation fails each time to capture 9
Whenever I try to install 9 Captivate, I get an error message stating "Installation failed." I have try the troubleshooting tips, but nothing works. Any other ideas?

Try installing Adobe Captivate 2 in 64-bit Windows 7, I get an error message saying "InstallShield Wizard has been interrupted... "Windows 7 compatibility tool has been no help. Captivate 2 was installed correctly in Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3 (I can't remember which). Why it will not install in Windows 7, and how can I fix the problem?

Adobe Captivate 2 is not compatible for use with Windows 7. Check out the following link.

You can try to install in compatibility mode and see if it helps.
(a) right click on the configuration file (the file setup.exe for the software), and then select Properties.
(b) now, click on the Compatibility tab and check the box that says run this program in compatibility mode for.
(c) select Windows XP (Service Pack 3). Click on apply and OK.
(d) now right-click on the configuration file and select run as administrator and follow the normal installation procedure. Check to see if it helps.

you have an adobe application Manager (or cloud creative adobe) icon on your desktop? If so, click it to open it > select captivate > click Download/install

Someone at - he got Captivate Reviewer to work?
I have several stakeholders who need to review my work, but I still need Reviewer to work. All I get is error messages.
When I opened it for the first time, he asked if I wanted to check the updates. I clicked Yes, and he said there is a mistake find updates. No explanation.
Whenever I try to load one of the zip of a project files, I get this message:
I am the administrator and I have administrative rights on my desk.
I see nothing even mentioning the examiner in the community after 2013, and it is in reference to version 5.

Here's what I mean. You right click on the shortcut icon and choose Run as administrator. And this is different from simply functioning as an administrator.
On your computer where Captivate is installed, I think the Captivate installation procedure install the AIR runtime also for you and, eventually, the request of the examiner.

How can I download 9 Captivate?
I have a Captivate 9 subscription, which I have not yet downloaded. I want to install and download now, but when I go to the page "downloads for Captivate 9 edition of subscription (one year)", I don't see are 8 Captivate downloads. (I have already downloaded and installed Captivate 8). How can I download 9 Captivate?
Install the trial version of CP9 (may be along your current version CP8). When you sign in with your Adobe ID, subscription will be recognized.

I have a subscription to Creative cloud and a separate subscription of Captivate. I use the cloud on a PC and Captivate on another PC. These two are working PC. I also use my subscription of cloud at home. When I go to work and try and open Captivate it forces me to disconnect other computers and reconnect. I don't have to House of Captivate. Never installed on this PC. Why do I have to disconnect other computers that use only the cloud when Captivate is not part of the creative cloud? I understand that Captivate and the creative cloud are both on the same ID, but they are not all part of the same package. And before you go, it doesn't matter what version of what whether, or what operating system I have, or what I'm trying to do (other than signing in). It is simply the Adobe ID, put in place.

Adobe think you a subscription used on 3 computers.
I'm not sure can someone help except if you change the related adobe id one of the two subscriptions, but if anyone can, it's adobe stafff.

I'm moving from a PC to a mac and I need to install Adobe Captivate on mac. I can't find the download from anywhere.
You can download a trial version of free trial download Adobe Captivate | Adobe Captivate 9
Install, and then enter a valid serial number.
However, the serial number is likely to be the specific platform. either your Windows serial number will not work on a Mac.
If this is the case, you will have to ask Adobe for a swap of platform to get a serial number Mac

Captivate 8.0 trial offers AAM error message / VAC makes / does not start

Have currently 6 Dreamweaver installed - works fine.
Downloaded trial of Captivate 8.0 - installed - what started returns message: Adobe Application Manager to start your trial, is missing or damaged. Uninstalled AAM and downloaded AAM 8.0 all and Creative Cloud trial.
Same message. Uninstalled AAM, Captivate, VAC. Re-downloaded all and reinstalled all Akamai, AAM, VAC, Captivate.
Same message. When I clicked OK, Captivate starts and then closes.
When I run MAA, it says I need to download and install VAC.
This and still get the same errors. Cannot open the Captivate to apply patches.
Looking for ideas (what services are windows are required to perform these?)
The problem can be solved by going to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe and rename the folder to OOBE_old OOBE. Re-installing the Application Manager and do not run it. Then re - install Captivate, select Try, if necessary log of Adobe and what it is. Captivate should run. Application manager should not report errors do not have ACCESS either.

Cannot open .cp file in Captivate 5.5
Hi all
I shall now change more than 30 files with the extension ".cp" with Captivate 5.5 installed in my PC, the files are created in the year 2011 and possibility created using the previous version of Captivate.
However he warned me that Captivate cannot open files
As far as I know, Captivate 5.5 should be able to open the files of the previous version, I searched on the web and most of the responses refer to the link (http://www.infosemantics.com.au/adobe-captivate-troubleshooting/recover-corrupt-project) but I have not any locked backup or cache files, I suspect that the files are not damaged, since I couldn't open all the files.
I would like to know if there are any suggestions for my case?

5.5 or 5 can open files-cp normally if they were not damaged and do not use AS2. ActionScript 2 is no longer supported since 5. '2011' bit strange because cp-extension disappeared earlier. Are there no way to check in this ' earlier?

Captivate 6 crashes when you open the variable window

I must say that I get pretty bored with how buggy Captivate 6 turns out to be. It seems to hang a large part of the time (when you open a project or after publication) and publishes often with lots of red boxes instead of my images (even when my high quality setting). Nevertheless, I can work around this problem by emptying the cache, restart my computer etc but I can't seem to get around this last bug!
For some reason, Captivate and keeps crashing when I try to open the variables window (via the menu at the top and through the window advanced actions). I tried emptying my cache and restarting my computer with no luck.
I also captivate 5.5 installed, so I tried to open the window of variables in this field and it worked well, but once again, captivate 6 frozen when I went back to try again.
Has anyone else had this problem before and there at - it a way to stop what is happening? I am running windows 7.

Hi Rick,
Try to recreate the 6 Captivate preferences. Then launch Captivate 6 as it is run as an administrator
If the above suggestion does not work, then install 6 Captivate in a new admin account and test the bheavior of 6 Captivate.
