Capture HDV in Pr CS 6 cassette

I have a Windows 7 platform and works with a video camera XL1a Canon HDV, but cannot capture any material in first Pro CS6 via a fire wire connection.

The camera installs successfully and I can run through the window first CS6 caputure (fast forward stop playing and so on), but there is no picture.

When I run caparture the camera starts but I have not any video in the preview window and it does not take into account any material.

Can someone help how to capture HDV tape hardware in the PC?

With two cameras showing the same problem, the more likely culprits are the driver or cable FW settings.

Hello... I have no problem with DV with CS6 capture, but trying to capture HDV, when I press stop in the capture window, rather than appear immediately to give the name of the file, location etc., dialog box option instead just automatically recorded as an MP3 file on the location of the recorded disc... Needless to say I can't even import this file in my project PP. MP3 As mentioned, this does not happen with standard DV import. FWIW I'm captured HDV footage on a Mini DV cassette from my Sony V1 camcorder via a Firewire cable to my PC.

Any suggestion or help will be greatly appreciated... Thank you very much in advance.

Here, many of us use the free HDVSplit for HDV capture:

  • Cannot capture HDV in Windows 7

I have a new Windows 7 PC (Dell Studio XPS 9000) and have not been able to capture HDV from my Canon Vixia HV30 camcorder.  I could not capture DV no problem when I put the camcorder to downgrade the output using 'DV Lock.  I tried Movie Maker and several other programs with the same result.  Each program recognizes the HV30 correctly.  When I start the capture, the computer manages to control the camcorder and begins to play.  However, HD video capture, usually to create a 0 bit file.

I tried using different software in compatibility mode of previous versions of Windows and have also tried to use the "legacy" Firewire driver version, but nothing seems to solve the problem.  I don't know exactly what the problem.  I've seen some reviews that mention another card Firewire is required.  I also noticed that the Canon HV30 Windows driver is a "generic A / audio-visual device" driver.  I wonder if there is something that Microsoft needs to get to a specific Canon for Win7 driver.

For any help or suggestion would be great!

  • CS6 Capture HDV however no video does appear in the order

    Aloha all,.

I wonder what I'm doing wrong... I opened the capture, the camera is online and remote control works, I indicate to capture the 'band' in the area of long-shoring, I hit the record button and the device renders the video, timecode of the point begins to register but timecode of the captured quantity begins to roll and when the capture is finished, there is no video.

I checked and re-checked the unicameral connections and if I had a bad cord or bad device connection control does not work and the camera would not be recognized, so I then went to my video card to see if there is a setting I have to do and there is nothing to do... I'm totally lost, what I am doing wrong?

    Mahalo-n-aloha... konadon

HDV camcorders offer "downconversion" DV on the 1394 output when you listen HDV recordings. If your recording is HDV, but you can only capture it as DV, so that's the question. In addition, if you have the control of bridge and timecode but no video, indicates the same question. In the menu of the camera, turn off the function "convert i.Link" and also set VTR "HDV", rather than "DV" or "Auto".

With the camera off, unplug the cable to the computer 1394, close App edition. reconnect 1394 PC should recognize the camera and the camera (in playback mode). Then you can start the first and should be able to capture HDV.

  • NO CAPTURE HDV IN ADOBE MEDIA?

Guys, I'm frustrated. Frustrated beyond words that I can fix here. I have a canon xh a1 with film hdv to a marriage. I have adobe pro cs5 first and all I want to do is capture my images. IT WON'T LET ME. My canon xl2 capture via firewire works. But as soon as I plug in a camera hd, ADobe does not recognize! I have windows 7 64 bit and never had a problem before capture. Now, if I go to view sd in my camera, walla! It allows me to capture. But then what is the point of hd? When I try to capture hdv images, Adobe does not support? His 2010 ADOBE. HD has been around for years and so has Canon. Why Adobe has problems recognizing my HD images? I tried both Onlocation and same thing happens.

Please help me. Only experienced people who had the same problems or Adobe porofessionals. I have experimented a lot with this problem for a month and couldn't find something so not noob answers please. Thank you

I have an A1 and no harm to capture.

Your seqence must be hdv and so is your capture setting in the capture window.

Each parameter must be set to 1080i in the camera, not car.

Are you of any change on a trialversion?

I ask this because you can capture DV and HDV (no mpeg in the trial)

If this is not the case, try to capture with Split HDV.

  • I want to capture HDV to my computer from the camera, but I get the mp3 files. What was wrong?

I put the button for HDV in capture settings. This is the first time it's the case for me. I checked the firewire cable, I reset the computer, I checked the settings on the capture device and put them in HDV. What else can I do to get the job done?

I had the same problem with CS6. I found that if I change the file from MP3 to M2T extension everything works correctly. I can edit and play captured video.

It's a pain... but it works.

  • Capture HDV - spec laptop.

I have a user at work which is the simple video recording in the HDV format with a Sony camera. He knows the video capture problems on his laptop computer.

It's a Dell E6320 with Win7 64 bit, i7 2.7GHz dual core cpu and 8 GB of RAM. He makes occasional artifacts capture (red blocks). We tried

tweak the various parameters which helped, but have not cured the problem. I suspect that the global specification is not the height, but not

don't know enough about video capture to say definitely that he needs new kit (it has a limited budget and I don't want to order a pc

to see that it does not help). There is a pc in the library that is used for video capture, and there the same 8 GB of ram, but

with a quad-core processor - HDV capture works. Requirements of State Adobe HDV requires a 3.4 GHz cpu, but does not work

    mention the multi-core systems.

Can anyone advise on where the problem might be? It is using CS5.5.

He might also try if HDVSplit, a free capture program, gives better results on a low-power system.

  • Capture HDV

I'm an amateur and I have about 20 tapes (Sony VX2000) DV and 10 tapes HDV (Sony HVR - A1U) I want to capture on my PC, mainly for archival purposes, so that I can sell the old (er) material. At some point I plan to go through all these images and slaughter in a few hours of the guardians, which can be later converted in a high quality format. I am currently using the first Pro CS5 for all editing.

My PC is a couple of years old (Q6600 @ 3 GHz, 4 GB RAM, SSD, local storage main drive and additional network) with Adobe Creative Suite CS5, running Windows 7 x 64. I also NeoScene v1.60 if necessary.

What is the best format to capture these images, which is quite universal and likely to be read easily 5 to 10 years? I don't plan to do more basic split / pad edition.

The DV sounds easy, ScenealyzerLive or WinDV is probably one of the best choices right?

The HVR - A1U HDV footage is the main concern. Should I just use something like HDVSplit and capture video MPEG-TS (m2t files)? Looks like the capture using the Cineform codec would be overkill for my needs and lock myself in a format not standard.

Thanks a lot for the pointers and suggestions!

Due to the nature of the sequence that you have, you are better off just capture to the format that corresponds to the digital signal on the tape. The DV tapes will be captured DV AVI, and you seize tapes HDV to HDV M2Ts. To oversimplify it, you're really just "copy" the data records, because they are already digital.

Premiere Pro will do a great job in itself for the DV tapes; many people seem to use HDVSplit for HDV capture, as it does not seem to suffer from all the problems of synchronization that HDV capture in Premiere Pro only. In the case of DV and HDV formats, you are looking at about 13 GB per hour of footage. You should be sure with these codecs and formats for the next few years; It's standard codecs 'pro' which was dripping on the market, so there is support for them in the future.

I installed the first pro cs5 trial version and edit HDV footage.  When I create a new project HDV is not one of the capture formats (see photo)Problem.png

  • Cannot capture hdv with Premiere Pro

I'm having a hard time capturing video from my camcorder high definition of Sony HDV - HC7. I am running Premiere Pro CS4 on a DellStudio running under Win 7 64 bit Ultimate system. It has a processor intel i7 CPU (8 cores) with 12 g of RAM.

When I run first and select Capture it opens the capture window properly and allows me to control the camcorder. The camera is connected and working. However, it will not capture. I tried to capture several ways:

1 connect the entry points and on the tape and then do a batch capture.
    2. Enter the whole band.
    3. manually press record at the correct stage is spotted on the camcorder.

Each time the result is the same, nothing is captured. The meter reading displays the band plays and I can see the band playing, but the length of the recorded scene remains at 00:00:00

I am connected via (camera) 4-pin to 6-pin (computer) via firewire. I tried two different firewire cables to ensure that it is not a cable problem. I don't have a capture card dedicated unless my Hauppauge Win TV HVR-1250 can be considered as a capture card. My firewire is out of the system tray, so I did not have a dedicated in system firewire card.

I went through Adobe troubleshooting advice and none of these options helped.

    1. my hardware meets the minimum requirements

    2. recreate (even reinstall) cache does not help.

    3. I have tried two different bands with the same problem

    4. the connection cables work. I even tried two different firewire cables. The two show an iLINK on the camera connection and the capture window can control the playback of the camera without any problems.

5 scene Detect is grey so I can't turn off, but I don't think it plays a role in the HDV capture.

    6. I checked my device control settings. The unit is set to sony and 1 alternate. I put it this way because I could not capture anything on the standard. I tried this setting and have captured a clip. After that, I could capture is no longer on the new setting. Even though I'm set to Standard or its replacement, the status of the camera is online.

7 capture with another utility. I tried the software to capture from sony as well as first elements 8.0 and I have the same problems.

    8. make sure that all of the video was made. They are.

    9. Select playback (set to auto) settings.

    10. I'm logged on as an administratore

    11. I don't have a capture card. Do I need one?

    13. I run it with no other current main program execution.

    14. all my drivers are up to date.

    15. my video card driver is current.

I must add that I have the same problem, try other software like Premiere Elements 8.0 and Sony Picture Motion Browser, so I think it's a hardware problem.

I appreciate any suggestions. Do I need a dedicated video capture card? If so, what do you suggest me? Do I need a Firewire 4 pin, rather than a 6 port pins? Do I need a dedicated sony cable as suggested in some forums?

    Thanks in advance.

    wcameron

my gut feeling is that the built-in firewire is not good. but before part you with little money for a PCIe version, it is possible, that you can test the device on another computer? just to rule out the camera itself.

try to avoid really cheap FW cards. I envy those who have a TI chipset, but it's just anecdotal.

  • Cannot capture HDV 1080i in CS3 or CS4

I just shot a minute of video in HDV 1080i with my new SONY HVR - Z5U camcorder format. I have connected a cable IEEE of the camera on my new computer. Premiere Pro is set to HDV, 1080i formats. In shooting mode, I can control the camcorder but nothing appears on the computer screen and nothing is captured. This worked in DV mode with the recorded DV video, but not to the HDV format. How can I record HDV video in my computer?

  • The queue limit in CS4 Capture HDV

I am running CS4 on Windows Vista.

I have a Sony Z1 connected and I try to capture a bunch of 1 hour.

Everytime I try, it seems to be to capture while watching the capture window.

However, once the capture is complete, the window project shows that the clip is only about 21 minutes long.

And looking at the directory, all captured files are exactly 4 GB in size.

I did a search and see no mention of a limit of 4 GB for Premiere CS4 file.

  • Unable to capture video with the Canon Vixia HV40 HDV - why?

I am unable to capture video HDV via Firewire to my Cannon Vixia HV40. I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit on a computer HP DV6T Quad Edition laptop, using the native Firewire interface. I can capture DV standard definition without problem (when the unit is set to DV mode, Windows detects the device and the guests of action - if you select HDV mode, Windows does not, and the camera does not appear in Device Manager).

So far, I tried to capture HDV in Sony Vegas, Windows Live Movie Maker, Cyberlink PowerDirector 7 and finally HDVSplit (considered as the common denominator of simpler, the lowest for the capture) without success. NOTE: the camera IS recognized in HDV mode. In all the above applications, I can go back, play and fast forward - there's a link that works at least at this level. When I try to capture HDV, I get different results - no success. HDVSplit starts playback on the camera and stops after 3-4 seconds, indicating that no data has been transferred from the camera. If I turn off scene detection, capture runs indefinitely, but the generated file is never more than 0KB. Director of Windows also appears to capture, but the file is still 70 KB and is not valid. Sony Vegas, same, begins the capture but never see any video. CyberLink Power Director, somehow, HDV recorded once a band - and can always record a live camera HD stream.

I tried a lot of things:

1 using the older driver 1394
    2 turn HD/HDV
    3 reinstall the capture software
4 press the 'PLAY' button first, then enable "record", then the workflow is running.
    5. install the Canon software (despite the fact that it contains all drivers for camcorders) - in fact there is no driver for the Canon Vixia HV40. It is supposed to work with the Windows 7 driver. I tried both (W7 and legacy) with the same result.

The Canon Vixia HV40 is documented as supported in Windows 7 by Microsoft and Canon - and yet there are many people on the Internet claiming to have this problem (although some people report no problems at all). I am sure that I do not see a 'Pink Elephant'. As this is a forum for Microsoft - I would be happy if I could capture in Windows Live Movie Maker - to keep the inconsistencies of the third part of the road. What should I try next? Is there a 1394 a generic driver that is certified to run on Windows 7?

I went and hooked the camcorder new just to make sure that I can hardly believe it is now capture HDV. Perfect work. Believe me, I've tried evey solution I could find on the internet and it is the only one that worked for me. I found the solution on this forum and started to find only no sooner. I've only used it with Pinnacle Studio 12 so far... never mind, I just tried HDV Split and it works too. I had also planned to buy a SIIG NN-EC2812-S2 and if it had been less expensive, I did not hesitate. I tried from Best Buy's Dynex Express card, but he had the camera recognition problems and sent. I thought that you get what you pay and was actually looking for the best price on the SIIG when I came across the solution. I wish you good luck.
