  • A much improved car-mount: the Media Station

Three weeks of driving around, constantly having to play with ropes, taken to plug-in the hard micro-usb, strained to see the text in small characters, to reach too high and too far away to hit the tiny icons - and several other annoyances, today I let fall on the Motorola Droid car mount, and took the multimedia Station in the car.

I opened a retractable tray on my dashboard (Audi A6) and a rubber band later took the Motorola Droid Media securely fixed Station in an ideal position for driving. Connect a retractable charger cable (which allows a perfect tension cord) in to the dock and put to rout the wire almost invisibly on the dock.

Here I use a beige elastic so you can see how you hold firmly to the shelf/drawer...

Below, I use a black elastic (headband) and

now, the installation becomes safe and "invisible"...

Now, finally, entering into the car I can simply place the droid in the dock: instantaneous power and correct orientation of the screen.

During the passage of the car, I just pick up the Droid and on foot:

The Droid is more in the way of my conduct.

The touchscreen is now more than 5 "and 3" closer to my right hand that witnesses to my car radio. In my car, it's the ideal position to be able to safely use the Droid as a GPS device and one-touch speakerphone.

Because the unit is in the Media Station, the screens are view of landscape.

including the keyboard of the phone and contacts.

When you drive along, the Media-Station screen is seductive and contains useful information.

One touch and the regular home screen appears in all its splendour of the landscape orientation. Running the app MODE drive puts the phone in speaker mode as soon as I answer a call.

It is how the droid should be used in a car.

(YouTube video of the above photos)

Looks like I might have a real reason to abandon my Garmin Nuvi now (and I fear no longer have to answer or make a call while driving.)

Can't wait to make a more elegant solution (clips) to keep the Station from established media.

or at least get a rubberband black; )

UPDATE 12/20/09: rubberband replaced with a black elastic band in all of them but #1 (so you can see the mounting)

DockRunner puts the phone in multimedia editing mode - which is not necessary as this "p I m p my droid' project uses the frame of media.

Car App puts the phone in car mode - which * is * necessary because this isn't the car holder.

OP has done this in the first place because car mounting, you must connect the phone to the power, to remove the phone you need to untangle it mount AND unplug it. Media support requires just lift the phone, is much easier.

  • Of blackBerry Smartphones suddenly gone black screen

I had my private for three days. The passage of the Passport is not without its obstacles, but overall, I'm pretty happy with it.

Since yesterday I ran into a problem where, without apparent reason, I am trying to unlock my phone, only to meet with a black screen. Slide the keyboard does nothing. Double tapping the screen he wakes up in the picture below.

    http://imgur.com/lpDKt8q

Slide up let me scroll notifications as seen here, but nothing more

    http://imgur.com/icNY0oU

So I hold the power button for 10 to 12 seconds, it resets itself, runs through the boot sequence, then back to the black screen. I have reset three times now. Yesterday when it happened I reset three times and the third time that he returned to normal.

I also did a hard reset by holding down the button for 35 seconds and let it restart.

After a conversation long and boring of two hours with the direct support of Blackberry, I used the online Android Device Manager to wipe my device. It took awhile for it to start, but when he did, I saw an Android logo that says 'clear '. It's over, I saw the clock for a brief moment, and then the screen went black.

This double tapping of time has nothing, but also hit the power button or slide the keyboard.
Connect my device to the charger briefly flashed the clock, but did not show the percentage load indicator as it had before the erase/reset.

I held the power button for 12 seconds, rebooted and loaded as usual with forms and the Android logo. Then return to the flash of the clock and the black screen.

Support this is the first they have heard of this issue. They are climbing it to a higher level of support and wait 24 to 48 hours for a response. From there, it will be either more shooting situation, or a return and replacement of disorder. That will be especially annoying for me because I live in Australia and it will mean returning to the United States and then to await their return to send it to me.

Does anyone know how to factory reset the Priv via the data cable or by pressing a key sequence?

I wonder if anyone has had this problem or can offer a solution. I hope that this thread will serve as useful to others.

    A few other notes;
-problem started at random, no not after installing any new apps
    -phone has not been dropped

    I found the solution!

After a suggestion on another forum that the problem may be caused by a magent (phone case, built car megnetic, phone support, ect) I removed the Steelie magnetic car holder I had attached to my phone at the front desk, and now the phone works perfectly again. For the moment

So to the other posters, maybe your question was caused by a megnet so. Something to keep in mind.

  • Power failure magnetic blackBerry Torch of Smartphones

Hi guys, can anyone suggest a solution? My torch into hibernation when it is attached to my car holder, it is a magnetic type, so I'm assuming that the phone believes that have been sheathed. Can this option turn off the torch as it can with the Pearl and Strom I.

  • Navigation/Bluetooth question.

I finally had time to try the navigation today. Everything worked OK, but it was hard to hear so I have a few questions. (1) I did not hear the voice directions through my bluetooth earpeice although this arrangement has worked well for the functions of the phone. I can do the voice directions come through bluetooth? (2) if I plugged the Droid to MP3 (to the) connection of the car radio, would voice music interrupt directions & come through speakers? (3) if I had music on Droid & played it with earphones (jack Bluetooth or audio) would have voice directions override & stop the music when it is necessary? Last question is off topic. Does anyone know of a car charger which has an angle of 90 degrees on the taken micro USB. Since the Droid car holder does not a plug in connection, I do not have the lead from charger to the bottom of the phone. I guess an extension USB microphone with a 90 degree to the input end would do the trick, or maybe someone knows a 90 degree adapter? Thanks in advance.

Not all the headphones blue tooth will receive all the signals... There are two types, and the called A2DP, one is basically the one who receives the voice of your calls, but also of other sounds on your phone.  If you don't see anything on your helmet, a quick way to see is to go to youtube on your phone and try to play a video. If the sound comes through your bluetooth headset, then navigation does not work properly, but I think you will find that your helmet does not pick up the sound, as there are has that one or two headsets bluetooth single ear that are A2DP.  If you hear the sound from the speaker on your phone, it simply means that the helmet only works for voice calls.

  • macOS Sierra - press and hold the power button to enter the mode 'sleep'

I recently updated my MacBook Air (13 inch, early 2015) model of El Capitan macOS Sierra 10.12. Before the update, hold down the power button / stop for 2-3 seconds, put the machine in standby mode. It does not properly after the update. Release the power button to switch to sleep mode works only once after each time you start the machine.

I know he has an option to set the mode of sleep using Ctrl + button / stop and by selecting one of three options to restart, sleep and Shutdown, but who needs 3 more click click and is not fast. Also, independently of any application that is open, pressing the button walk / stop worked fine before the update, but now I need to be on the desktop even do Ctrl + Power button work.

All patches available for it? Miss me the old way of put my Mac to sleep I do not remember if I did some tweak in my Mac, or was it a default feature...

    Greetings jainam2209,

  • USB plays is not in the car after that put 9.3.4 at level

I have an IPhone 6 and own a 2010 ford fiesta.

After upgrading to IOS 9,34 I can't read podcasts or music through the car radio with USB cable, radio do not even recognize the phone is plugged in, although it will charge the phone and play via Bluetooth. and all the phone features work very well.

It worked fine before the upgrade and the desire to return to the use of usb cable because it it allows to use the steering wheel radio controls.

Ford blame Apple an Apple accuses ford. I had updated the firmware made by ford dealers.

seems whenever apple do a update it fucks things up

Sometimes an iOS update breaks compatibility and you will have to wait for an iOS update or a firmware update for the system of ether.

    However, try the following:

    Try:

-Reset the device iOS. Nothing will be lost

Device iOS Reset: Hold down the On / Off button and the Home button at the same time for to

ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

    -Reset the car.

-Go to the support site for Ford and see if they know anything or if a firmware update is available for your car

    -Reset all settings

Go to settings > general > Reset and tap reset all settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as your contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) are not affected.

    -Restore from backup. See:

  • Moved from my library of Photos to iCloud by car and now the pictures will not open it...

I thought being smart and transfer my library of Photos to iCloud by car so I can access all my devices, but now the pictures won't open it. I hold down the Option key when starting the Photos and told to open the library moved in my world of iCloud drive. He complains about the library in an incompatible format (or something similar). If I move just back off iCloud drive to any where in my regular Finder file system then pictures is perfectly fine opening of the library. What the heck! Anyone know what is happening or that seemingly obvious thing does not work why?

Yes... I think the library should be 'local' to your Mac. It can live on a USB key and maybe even a network drive, but I do not expect any level of performance with her on the cloud. If you think you can avoid to keep your phone synchronized with iCloud and still have access to all of your library, it won't work.

Apple don't tell you not to do it, but they said this without mentioning iCloud drive...

  • about connection iPod video car

I have an old video of ipod. I connect it to my car with a usb adapter that is due to the fact battery will not hold a charge. He however repeat myself "ok to disconnect" on the screen even if it will play the music. I have to unplug the unit to see the screen and change the song. Is it possible to plug it into the car and be able to still see the music list?

What happens if you do a Reset when it is connected?

Learn how to reset your iPod - Apple Support

If you connect it to a USB port on a car audio system, you can connect to the current (or "cigarette lighter") using the appropriate adapter.  If the connection is purely a power connection, I don't think you will get the message OK to disconnect .  It would be like the connection of the iPod to a power USB home adapter.

  • audio does not work when making/receiving calls on my iphone 6s in my car

Whenever I try to make or receive a call via my car hands-free kit, there is no sound through

Have you tried to use your speakerphone with another phone? This will show you whether functional or broken. If it works, I think you should try the following steps.

Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.

    • Press and hold the sleep/wake button
    • Press and hold the Home button
    • Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.

Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings

If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.

Take a look this Apple Support article: use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

  • iPad as a show for Kids Car headrest

    Hi all

My requests/requirements are a little different. Given that this forum has a lot of fans of the iPad, I try my luck to find the optimal solution for my needs.

requirements: last night I was looking for player headrest DVD drive for my child aged 2 years. I came across a few player providing USB/Micro SD entry and 10-inch screen size. They come with the remote control and IR headphones. They cost less than $200.

But later I thought that if the same requirements can be met using a tablet. I am ready to pay more money say around $ 300 to meet this requirement by tablet. What is the need?

    1. 10-inch tablet that plays movies of card reader USB/micro SD - searched the Internet and found a few tablets with USB. However, each of them has some limitations. Please let me know if we can use iPad or any other tablet to play movies from USB flash drive/SD card. It supports the reading of different video formats.
    2. Support headrest car to hold the Tablet - found a lot of mounts available
    3. Tablet comes with remote control to navigate through different applications/folder
    4. IR/Bluetooth support headset

    Thanks for your help.

OK, this can be done out of. First of all none of iPads have a drive of USB/SD card in them. There are apps that play a wide variety of files in video format. VLC player is one of them. You could buy a disc hard wifi that works an ipad to store movies. And as for a remote control. I don't know if it's possible. Your best bet with an iPad would be to load movies on the device and play directly from the device. iPads are not designed to be used in exactly the way that you describe above.

    I hope this helps.

  • Phone does not not through the car speakers and microphone

New 6s iPhone which I paired with my car and it worked very well, until 2 days ago. Now although I can access the address book etc but when I ring or someone sounds to me he won't go through the speakers or microphone in the car.

    Any ideas?

First thing I would try is to reset the phone (hold to the bottom of sleep & stop buttons until the Apple logo appears).  If this does not help then I would delete & fix the Bluetooth connection.

  • My iPad will not hold a charge and won't

My iPad is showing a red - battery flat. If I connect it to the charger, it tries to go - see the white Apple logo and about 30 seconds later it turns off, but in another 10-15 seconds, it shows once again the flat red battery and the cycle continues indefinitely - red battery Logo - Logo - Off - red of the battery... Help, please.

    A few options.

your battery is toast and can't hold a charge.

Your charger may not give the battery what suits him so it cannot load.

The cable is not making a good connection for recharging.

Make sure that you use an iPad, not an iPhone, one charger. iPhone Chargers put only half as much power as the iPad ones.

If you have another charger and cable, those Exchange and see if your iPad will charge. Be aware that if you are up to the Red level of the battery, it will take at least half an hour for your device be used.

Also, look in the loading port and make sure that it is clean. As silly as it may sound a piece of lint can impede charging. Make sure that the contacts on your charging cable are clean.

If you can try another charger and cable and your iPad still hold a charge then the battery can be turned. (they have a limited life span)

You can contact your local apple store or service provider authorized and put in place an appointment to have the battery checked and possibly replaced. The tax is around $ 100 unless you have Apple care. If you do, and it's within the warranty period, replacement can be free.
