• NO ExpressCard-8360 problem installing on DELL latitude D830

  Hello

  When you install an NI ExpressCard-8360 with our PXI chassis, I have problems and cannot operate.

  I followed the procedures closely, but when Windows starts, it wasn't able to install the two bridge PCI to PCI Standard PCI.  I managed to start and installed manually.  The second PCI bridge, Windows shows error Code 12 not enough for resource assigned to the device.  I tried to make it inactive a few resources in the BIOS, it did not help.  I tried to disable a driver using resources, it has not helped. I updated the BIOS of the A13 A14 version, it did not help.  I'm out of ideas.  Help!

  Please note that this laptop works very well with NI PC Card 8310 bridge with the same PXI chassis.  We have acquired the NI ExpressCard-8360 to expedite the transfer of the large data set between the chassis PXI Board A/D and the laptop.

  WOW!

  I found the solution.  I found that this knowledge base MXI-Express Setup/compatibility issues and Solutions (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/81CBF2F7F0BAEDBD86257330000514DF?OpenDocument) who suggested delete OR CardBus/8310 driver for solve problem Code 12.  After trying everything else, Hey! Why not try.  And it works perfectly now.

  WOW! This driver NI CardBus/8310 is a bad boy.  Please note that I didn't card Cardbus plug, the driver always keeps the PCI ExpressCard to work well.  Weird!

• Problem of card ExpressCard El Capitan

  Hi guys,.

  I hope you can help me with the questions of the ExpressCard I feel.

  If I insert an SD card, no matter if I use another one, the system doesn't recognize the card at all. Not appearing is not in either disk utility. The strange thing is though it al works fine after the reboot. But it doesn't work only temporarily, if I wait a little longer before inserting the SD card once again, nothing happens.

  My thought is to some interference from the pilot by the engine of El Capitan. But I'll leave to you guys. What I've done so far went on the manufacturer's Web site to search for an update. But there is no. Downloaded the current version and reinstalled. I reset my controller of LANDAU and SMC. But the problem is still there, which is quiet boring.

  MacBook Pro 2011 (17 inches)

  OS X El Capitan 10.11.5

  Transcend card ExpressCard (TS-RDF1)

  2 PXI Platform services 2.5.1 is available.  Please install that.

  ExpressCard card slots become rare on laptops these days... so I was thinking about an option of plan B... like having to assume OR have nothing until their marketing announce something exists (which is fair enough on R & D / Marketing / strategic plans etc.)

  I don't have a laptop with crush to try myself as its still quite old (4 years) to have ExpressCard.  But I am concered that when I update I will have very limited choices in laptops ExpressCard. It suits me to do development on my laptop and then to the PC to get it into production.

  I tried this at some point.  It works at least nominally.  I don't know the nuances with connection hot and things of that sort, but it is quite functional.

  Dell XPS M1530 laptop computer using, under Win XP SP3.  Everything went very well with the same material in September 08.  Now, I am getting error Code 12, "this device cannot find enough free resources that can be used. (Code 12) ».  I tried disabling other devices in my laptop as the large map broadband and media without change in the symptom slot.  Is there a better way to understand what is happening and to restore my computer to work with the MXIExpress card?

  My problem is solved. I had never used to express cards and I made the mistake of base. I didn't add it at the end. I felt a bit tough, but I have to press a little harder. What a shame!

• Many DAQ cards synchronize hardware for PXI

  I recently went through the process of getting several PCI DAQ cards in a computer and synchronize them together using a RTSI cable.  I just bought two similar cards in PXI.  I had to add a RTSI cable DAQmx devices manually in the measurement and automation software, and connect the cable with the PCI cards.  I want to just make sure that I don't have to do the same with the PXI cards because there is no necessary RTSI cable for PXI.

  The PXI chassis has backplane triggering and clock lines so that you don't need the RTSI cable.

• MXI-Express in an expansion slot ExpressCard from NVIDIA does not.

  I'm trying to get a DELL Latitude E6400 to connect to the controller of the PXI-8360. I use Windows 7 64-bit. I think that the problem may be that my DELL's ExpressCard slot is actually an expansion of NVIDIA ExpressCard slot and therefore not directly controlled by the BIOS (I guess). I use 8.6.1f1 of LabVIEW with as much current as I can find, especially MAX 4.6.2 and the PXI Platform Service 2.5.3 and Nov09 of device drivers. I have searched through the forums and tried solutions as much as I can find. The DELL BIOS upgrade A19, I tried the compatibility software BIOS MXI-Express 1.2 but I can't install it because the installer complains that my system is not 32-bit. I'm about to update the NVIDIA driver but I have my doubts about this work. My suspicion is that because housing ExpressCard is a slot on the NVIDIA card it will be difficult, if not impossible, to find a workaround.

  Any thoughts?

  If there is only 1 bridge looming, the card is probably in compatibility mode, which requires a driver.

  Try plugging (ExpressCard only) on a system with the driver installed, and then run the configuration utility (all programs-> National Instruments-> MXI - Express-> Configuration card ExpressCard-8360) and disable compatibility mode.  Then, it should work in your other system.

  I want to configure a single chassis PXI-1042 q with controller PXI-8331. I have connected 2 I\O Digital Digital card (PXI-6515) and 1 card(PXI-6514) I\O to this chassis. And I have connected this chassis to my PC with the serial cable (OR standard cable on COM 1) on my PC. But the problem is when I opened and Measurment Automation explore it dose not detect chassi eithre or any card I\O.

  I installed OR version 4.6.1 platform services.

  An obsrevation is led RX ON Chassi and dose led TX ON PC does not illuminate.

  Please guide me step by step configuration.

  PBL,

  The PXI-8331 is not a serial interface, even if the connector looks like it, so it should not be connected to COM1.  It works when it is connected to a PCI-8331 in your host PC.  The cable must be a MXI-4 cable, for example 190957-03, not a cable series.

  If that's what you do, please report the LEDs on the two cards.

  We have a hybrid chassis of 1052 with a PXI-6221 (control of the special SCXI version) into the slot of the 8th and, while it allows us to access map of the SCXI-1540 module without problem, if I try to add the NI PXI-6221 to the list of data acquisition cards to read the definition of system files or I make reference to any channel in a task of analog input (custom device) it is telling me that the resource is reserved. When I list the card in the system definition file, it gives the error message even if I turn off the single-point support timed by the hardware.

  I went back to the documentation for the Web site and I couldn't find a place where it says you need a card PXI for controlling SCXI cards but that the PXI card controls became useless.

  I'm doing something wrong?

  Dear Claudio_G,

  That should really be a limitation in VS2011 because there are future news added since VS2011.

  And the reason why it works in the custom device could be the one custom unit as PXI6221 and SCXI1540 are separated internally in which the task and VS that it works in the same task.

  Then when it works properly in the custom device I recommend to use this way or other wise update to VS2013.

  A PXI-ExpressCard8360 is usable on a laptop with Linux?

  Is this possible? All the world does?

  I have a laptop that uses the PXI-ExpressCard8360 to connect to a chassis PXI-1036 MXI express with Windows 7. My client asked to bring the app to Linux and I found some information on the modules I use, but nothing about anyone using the ExpressCard connection.

  The PXI-ExpressCard8360 kit you mentioned will work as well in Linux as "regular" kits planned MXI that you do not use NI MXI-Express BIOS software compatibility to work around BIOS problems.

  "" If you don't know if you use it, look for "all programs" National Instruments "Configuration of the ExpressCard-8360 card" on a working system (Windows).  If it is not installed, then you should be good.  If this is the case, start to check the configuration of your card ExpressCard (see the Readme with the software for further instructions).  If you can disable compatibility mode, uninstall software compatibility OR MXI - Express BIOS, reboot and run normally then you should be good.

  DeltaJ came through a call to support with the same question. In the interest of everyone in the community, the problem has been resolved by simply moving around some of the modules in the chassis. Resource conflicts can often be solved this way.
