  1. place a PXI (PXI-8433/4, PXI-8250) to any location 13-17 chassis will cause LabVIEW RT 8.6 could not start.

  2. remove the brackets slot PXI 6-10, place the device from PXI to slot 6 slot 13 is originally from LabVIEW RT 8.6 could not start.

  I have a 1042 q with a PXI-8360 controller chassis and some maps of Pickering.

  Connected to the XP - PC with a PCI-e-card-

  Installed is only neither Max nor-PXI, Ni-Visa...

  Now the question is how to set up the chassis in the 4.7 or max?

  In Max, I see a line with PXI system (unidentified) under "Geräte und interfaces". I tried to load some of the deliverered ini with pxi OR cd files, but I can't control anything.

  Can someone me a gibe hint what to do?

  I have doenloaded a pickering Web site pipx40vpp.zp file which should cover all my map of pickering a has also a few frontpanles.

  But at the start of the frontpanels it says "no card detected". I think I must first of all put in correct place in the max.

  Problem is now solved:

  The main problem was that the PCIx1 slot is not working. I put the card in an another PCIx slot and then he worked at the same time.

  Try different PCI or PCI Express locations in the host PC for you MXI interface.
  The algorithm that use certain BIOS has best behavior in certain time slots than others.

  But in my MAX I can't find the files controller.ini. Where should I look for when browsing for it?

  Goes the same for the chassis, but my guess is that the three chassis will become available when I found the controller.

  Only in the case you have not yet discovered, that your post is old enough.

  The PXI-8361 is a MXI controller using an external PC. That is why in MAX, you need to identify is as 'External PC' and not a real controller. Once this option, you should also get access to the configuration of the appropriate chassis.

• I need help to change a VI of the NI PXI-1042 q to USB-6210

  Hi all.  This is my first post, and I apologize in advance if it is in the wrong place or is not suitable... I was instructed to come here to help.

  I'm working on the evolution of a VI that works perfectly with an NI PXI-1042 q on a much smaller unit, the USB-6210.  Supposedly the USB-6210 can handle input/output same I need (a read analog at 30 kHz, 2 outputs digital input, written at 10 kHz), however I am having a little trouble to make it work properly.  The exits seem to go where they are supposed to, but the new system is orders of magnitude slower than the original, and for the system, I use this is unacceptable.

  I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I'm about as new to the LabView you can get, so I have no idea where to start.  Any help would be appreciated.

• PXI-1042 - switch LED green flashing when the chassis is disabled

  When the PXI-1042 chassis is off, the green signal LED power switch (I use the word "flicker" because the LED flashes irregularly and without full intensity) and the cooling fans will be starts randomly (sometimes one at a time, sometimes both).  When the chassis is on and in use, there is no significant difference in normal operation.  I understand that a flashing green light indicates 'air intake temperature exceeded the operating range chassis' (by Manuel PXI-1042).  I don't think that's the problem, because the chassis works very well when you use it.

  Everyone knows about this problem?  Is this a problem?

  My biggest concern would be there that it will not warn you when you are outside the temperature range. However, since it does not work correctly when the chassis is turned on, I don't think that there is a problem. Of course, there is no way to know for sure without sending the camera for RMA, but my best guess is that you'll be fine.

• How to connect to a PXI-1042 of the Lap Top

  I have a chassis 1042 I want to use for calibration. I have a laptop with N.I. Measurement & Automation Explorer, Cal executive and a GPIB-USB-B interface.

  The chassis features a PXI-GPIB in the Groove 3.

  The Explorer N.I. does not recognize the chassis, what am I I need to calibrate the Flexdmm cards?

  I downloaded and installed the recommended drivers for DMM, I'm planning to calibrate it.

  The limitations of the map template will depend on the drivers you use, and not on the cord. You will be able to collect data as well as long as you have the correct drivers for your PXI card that is compatible with your operating system. Our controllers use only cables MXI, so the GPIB-USB cable does not work with them.

  Points to remember:
  MXI cable must correspond to the PXI card in the computer and the map MXI (Controller) in the chassis
  Drivers installed on the computer must be compatible with the cards in the chassis
  The cards must match the type of slot in the chassis
  The GPIB Serial card can be used to communicate with the hardware series (send commands and receive data)
  The GPIB-USB cable allows the card GPIB to communicate with devices having a USB port. (once again, only send commands and receive data)

  The PXI-8108 should work just fine with the PXI-1050 chassis. The only requirement is a chassis PXI uses a PXI controller and a SMU chassis uses a controller SMU. Since the 8108 both 1050 use the PXI standard, they should work very well together.

• Cannot replace the PXI embedded clock with clock oscillator PXI-6682 on PXI back plane

  I installed a module of synchronization PXI-6682 to slot 2 of a PXI-1031chassis with a PXI-8110 controller running hypervisor and RT.  The 6682 is installed on the RT system hypervisor for GPS sync during the measurements, but I would like to ask the TCXO on the PXI-1031 chassis backplane (which replaces the PXI embedded clock).  When I try to run the "Clock.vi route" that I found in the finder of the example, all I get are error messages indicating that a parameter for this operation is not valid.  The Terminal source is "Oscillator" and terminal of destination is "PXI-Clk10_In"  How can I determine which parameter is not valid?  Any suggestions?  Thank you

  You are right that the physical switch determines which one to use and you should not have to route signals.  If you are having problems with clocks after the synchronization module 6682 please let us know!

  You need this driver for the broadcom wireless card.

  This package contains drivers for the Broadcom Wireless LAN Server supported in models cards mobile supported and operating systems.

  File name: sp57965.exe

  The Intel driver interface I posted (for comms controller simple pci) must have worked.

  Try to install manually the driver for the device in pci controller simple comms by navigating to the folder of the driver that was created when you ran the file.

  The file will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp55100.  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected.

  You are the very welcome.

  You will need to manually install the driver then.  The driver should work because I used it on my Intel 2200 Pro on W7.

  Download the zip file instead (first file).  Copy on the laptop with the Intel Pro and unzip it into a folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click on the network controller needing drivers.

  Click on the driver tab, click on set to update driver.  Select her browse my computer for driver software method and navigate to the unzipped driver folder.

  Now, I'm trying to install "Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit" in a virtual machine, but fail because the virtual hard disk cannot be found.

  I tried with all Types of SCSI controller, but when running of the "Create Virtual Machine"-magician, he suggests 'LSI Logic SAS'. "." I tried 'LSI Logic parallel' and "VMware Paravirtual" but it did not work. However, I have not tried "Parallel BusLogic", since it clearly says no "recommended for this guest operating system".

  I think you have the same problem I had.   Trying to install 2008 R2 and asked for drivers?

  The issue wound up being an ISO corrupt Ms.

  Try to download the ISO using the java-based download manager.  This will tell you if your download is getting disturbed, as mine was.  It will also be the image once completed to ensure you've got the whole thing of checksum.  Just download via HTTP does not.
