For a long time, I use a wireless Internet connection. Yesterday I tried to connect WiFi connection, I got error. When I activate WiFi in the laptop, it's getting frozen card or work very very slow and even wi - fi turned off. I am allowing card it shows connection failed, you can activate. I downloaded the latest version of wi - fi, no result even card driver a type error. I have already format it and reinstall the system with the original DVD from Toshiba. Same error, free WiFi does not. Does that mean that my WiFi card is out of service? How to test the card? If it is out of service, what can do? How can I change my card in my laptop? Where to order?

Model of card WiFI - Intel (r) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG

Also, when I'm seeing my ip from command prompt (CMD) I get this notification...

Hello!

Did you do a BIOS update? Look at the page of European driver Toshiba if you have the latest version.

If you have the newest BIOS, drivers and reinstalled the laptop with the recovery disk, I think that the wireless network card must be replaced.

Access an ASP (authorized service provider) and they can check your machine:

    Hello

to record online music streaming, you must use a special program ripper that rip´s the part of the flow of output and written on the disk, because it s not possible to record sounds that are IN the system.

  • Card of Qosmio F30-140 is scalable?

The Qosmio F30-140 comes with a Nvidia GeForce Go 7600 equipped factory.

    Hi mate,

Unfortunately, the VGA chip cannot be replaced since it s "wired" on the motherboard, which means that the GPU is soldered on the motherboard.
If you want to replace it you will have a soldering station, which costs probably above 13,000 bucks and a team that knows in soldering BGA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_grid_array) and maybe you have plans of engineering for the motherboard and and it wouldn't hurt to have at least two programmers for the creation of a new BIOS, which implies that you have some connections to Toshiba Japan because the BIOS is not a FRIEND, it s one or Phoenix BIOS toshiba which has its own characteristics and I Don t know a soul who managed to enter the structure of such a Toshiba BIOS.

I hope I was able to clear your mind. :)

My laptop is Qosmio F30-140 (PQF32E).

I thought it was the RAM. I checked and it is fine. I have re-installed Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit, but the BSOD problem is always shown and I can t reach or get into windows.

I ve changed windows to Win7 32 bit and I entered the windows and all is well but when I want to install the driver for my graphics card and restart the laptop the BSOD appears again and I can't get into windows.

Please advise me. Is - this hardware problem or only the registry must be amended :(?

  • Re: Problem with Qosmio F30-140 VGA card

    Hi all

My Qosmio F30 suddenly developed a green lines/pixels on the screen. The same problem exists even before logining windows.
The card (nvidia go 7600) video under the device manager has a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside. I tried reinstalling the VGA driver, but nothing has changed.
I think it is a hardware problem (GPU), but I don't know if there is anyway to fix it. Please notify.

It's certainly the hardware problem. What you can do to confirm this is to connect external monitor to your laptop to see if the same thing will happen. If so, the GPU is defective and if not display's troublemaker.

What you can do to solve this problem? Not much. Material exchange is your only solution.

  • Features red and green Qosmio F30-117 - display problems-

    Hello

I have a qosmio F30-117, and until recently, I was thrilled with everything about it.

Then, mid session, graphics started to deteriorate, which fixed a reboot.

Then a few days later, he did it again and this time when I rebooted it came with a display corrupted, a lot of aa in all directions then red and green lines everywhere.

Managed to get by selecting safe mode with network and got a desktop computer but still with red and green lines everywhere.

Now its got worse again, when I start the screen of the laptop itself is empty, becomes something because it is not completely black as if it was when its engine turned off, but his Blanck.

To check I have connected to an external monitor and managed to get again in safe mode with network, but still very bad and always red and green lines everywhere.

I started to take a ride on the old good www and there are many posters and articles with problems and many mentioning the lines red and green etc...
so I'm not alone, but no one seems to know exactly what it is.

Some have mentioned the grateful Toshiba this as a problem and make even if out of warranty repairs.
Thus, ideas, advice and does anyone know if Tosh have agreed the problem and offer any help?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

In my opinion, this looks like a problem of graphics card GPU eventually started to malfunction, and in this case to replace the motherboard.

    > Some mentioned Toshiba grateful that as a problem and make even if out of warranty repairs.
Thus, ideas, advice and does anyone know if Tosh have agreed the problem and offer any help?

It doesn't have to be dull I ve also found this update from Toshiba product support page, but there is nothing listed on the problems of F30
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/PRODUCT_UPDATE_SUPPORT

What to say. Seems only a technician ASP might solve your problem, but replacing motherboard is a costly affair so it s your own decision to want to do

    In any case... good luck...

  • Upgrade of Qosmio F30/695LS (the slot with a weird module hard problem)

So I try to upgrade my laptop, its starting to show his age in this world or the very rapid evolution out. I want to add two 1 GB RAM cards. I read somewhere that 2 GB is memory max does anyone know if it is in terms of upgrade only or including 512 who comes standard? The cards must also be 200 pin DDR2 SO-DIMM, but I don't know how fast that is capable of confronting the laptop, I can put 800 MHz in there? Now, I had read that the manual except that it's like the laptop in Japanese! I'm also trying to add a second hard drive, there is a second location, but... There's something seriously weird sitting in there! Here are some pictures to help identify it:

For me, it seems to be a kind of a dummy module, but like I said I don't know noty - whatever it is, it causes a lot of problems - it can not be removed from the underside of the laptop, which means I have to open all and pull it out of the bottom of the keyboard (if that is even possible?) and I don't want to not pull something important on accidentally! Thus, any information would be very useful!

    Hello
If you want to upgrade the RAM for Qosmio F30, then you can use SO DIMM DDR2 533 Mhz PC2-4200

MODULES MUST BE ORDER AND INSTALLED in PAIRS for Dual Channel mode.

so, you can order the 2 GB kit (2 x 1 GB).

You must remove the old module 512 of your laptop, you can also see the speed written.

and on the strange object sitting in the slot of the HARD drive, I think it's a kind of wireless or Bluetooth card because there is an aerial cable attached to it, you can try to unplug the card and turn on your laptop and see if there are wireless devices or Bluetooth removed from the system.

also try to find what is written inside this card, a reference number or Description and post it to us.

This laptop sold in Japan only and that the specification is different from that which is sold in europe.

    Kind regards

  • Qosmio G40-10 s: graphics card problem

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G40 laptop 10s with a Nvidea 8600 M GT grafixs card. I was playing a game when it locked up and pasted what I would describe as flashing red/green 'Matrixy' search screen.

He then a blue screen and trys to reeboot.
He tries to start windows, but once again the top matrix. If it loads to the top, it is in 16 bit color with red dots all over the screen.

I am sure that the GPU is fried... and I was wondering what I can do? It's been 5 months out of warranty now.

I read on some forums that there have been a lot of problems with this Nvidea card... Is there anything I can do outside my warranty period with what there is a possibly faulty card in it from the beginning.

It will cost a lot of money to get it repaired, but its too good a laptop to let go to waste.

    Any help is very appreciated.

    J

    Hello

You also have these lines on an external monitor?
If so, there seems to be a graphics card problem and it must be replaced.

These overheating problems also occur if you use the nVidia display drivers directly. Toshiba drivers are pre-tested and don't overheat your system.

But I think you need professional help. You should contact an authorized service provider and talk to the technicians. They will help you! :)

  • Update BIOS on the Qosmio F30 - ACPI problem

I've updated the BIOS on my Toshiba Qosmio F30 - 140 and I have issues with the management of ACPI.

When I try to run Ubuntu 9.04 or 9.10, I see constantly typed characters - "^ [[B ', which cancel all important processes.
When I add "acpi = off" option to GRUB the problem seems not apear, but I do not have access to important features (like changing the brightness of the display). How to solve this problem?

    Hi Kojot89,
first: "never touch a running system", but you already know...

with this new bios, you have enabled some features of the motherboard...
    Try this:
-turn off acpi in the bios mode, if possible
-patch your kernel to use the acpi features
    - or disable the use of the features of acpi by boot-cheats

as you say the problem doesn't exist when starting with "acpi = off".
display brightness and the cooling of the processor are the main features of acpi to save energy, if your kernel can not handle
check_acpi_ignore = 1 might be a way to make it work

way the easiest way is to reinstall the system...

  • Qosmio F30 - problems of its Vista/7 x 64

    Hi all.

I installed Windows 7 (RC version) on my laptop. Installation was successful. After this OS has found and installed all the necessary drivers (audio driver is installed too, I checked it). Now I have such driver: SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC v.6.10.5866.0. But I can't hear any sound! I tried to launch music on my laptop, all the levels in the Control Panel window "Sound Devices" are activated, and indicates the maximum volume level. But, again, I cannot hear any sound. I don't understand what is the reason for this.
OS shows me that everything is OK, but I can't agree with it. Can you help me? Work on PC without sound is not beautiful.

It seems that the speakers are turned off... As if they have disabled by Fn + Esc key combination... How I check it? And how do I solve my problem?

I noticed the same thing on my Satellite Pro P300. After installing Win7, everything was OK.
I found the sound driver as advised by Win7 update, but after install driver sound was gone.
So I think that Win7 works much better as bare BONES. :)

In any case, for now Win7 is not supported and are all you can find some BETA drivers listed on the page of Toshiba U.S. support but not for all and not for the old as your Qosmio F30 laptop models. FN functions work only with utilities and tools specific to Toshiba. For Win7, such tools and utilities, do not exist and cannot be downloaded.

  • Qosmio F30-112 - small strips and dots on the screen

    Hello

    I need help, my laptop (Qosmio F30 - 112) have a problem.
When I started it scratch on the screen and flashes.
Then if I try to reboot it works, but not normal; still have a small scratches and dots on the screen.
I checked it on the Device Manager NVIDIA GForce with a yellow mark.
I tried to uninstall it but nothings happened.

Please some body help me what to do in this case?

And if you have to replace the VGA CARD, is it possible to upgrade? and what (NVIDIAGforce) parts are compatible for my laptop (RAM memory upgraded 4 GB 320 GB hard drive and windows 7 Home premium)

    Thank you
    rtmasagca

    Hello

Have you tried to install or update the display driver?
Please check this because the yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager may mean that the display driver is missing and so the graphics card does not work properly.

Otherwise, it could be a GPU problem.
This can be tested easily; connect an external monitor and check if the same stripes, points would be visible on the monitor that is eternal.

If Yes, then it s certainly a GPU problem.
In this case, only the replacement of the motherboard might help.
    Also, upgrade is not possible.

  • Qosmio F30 starts with blue stripes during Vista boot screen

My Qosmio F30-114 runs for years without problem with Vista Ultimate.

In recent days, there is a huge problem.

The Qosmio starts with blue stripes during vista boot screen.

So I deleted the driver for the graphics card and used the standard vga driver for the card. the wizard of material found one driver on the system.
For a brief moment, I was very lucky.

After a reboot, there was a blue screen. After the next restard again once the driver to the standard vga card.

    What can I do?

The download section of toshiba has no drivers for graphics card.
And really... I wonder - how it works every year without problems...

Someone at - it a solution?

    thanx

    Hello!

First you have this problem on an external monitor too or only on the screen internal? Maybe it s is not a graphics card problem so check it with an external monitor.

I checked the Web from Toshiba site and I can find drivers for the Qosmio F30:
