Above is the page on the phones in your system, I think.  In the lower right corner of the motherboard diagram and the photo is a 7-pin connector marked FPANEL, for front panel, which should be what you want.

  • XPS 8700 Windows 7 64 card reader disappears!

Often ill put a SD or CF card into the internal card reader and it disappears from my computer and Device Manager.  No just went wrong! The only way to recover is system sleep and power cord to "unplug". Works for 2 or 3 times and the same thing happens. Dell tried a few software and settings of bugs but that did not work. Then the sent me a new media card reader but same thing happens. Now, they want to replace motherboard and power supply, but I doubt that a is too. Any help or ideas would be great.

Yes, a very common problem with my XPS 8700. Has been through a lot of readers of cards, motherboards, etc.

    (1) make sure you eject the card reader in the computer drives; the old 'My Computer'. Yes, of course, it's elementary, but several times I just grabbed the first card reader. It applies to remove it from your camera. Don't forget that the camera is turned off before removing.

    2) the "fix"

It can be irritating, but it you have to remove the side panel and pull the wire connecting the card reader to the motherboard to the wide where it attaches to the motherboard. Then just reconnect and the card reader drives will reappear.

Technically you should do with the machine power off and unplugged power cord, but I use one of these long slender beak pliers to reach in and get a firm grip on the connector. Just a quick pull and a quick replacement. I would look at the readers to return what they have always done for me. I don't know if it is successful with the machine off. You must be very spastic to not be able to disconnect and reconnect the small connector without touching anything else. A light is useful depending on the ambient light.

Personally, my CPU is just off the right side of my office, so I always leave the left in Panel enough air flow, but it is certainly easy enough to remove.

It is difficult to say how long it will last. Finally, it will fail again may 20 all-purpose or more, but I keep the needle forceps nearby. A 2 minute job.

    Good luck!

  • HP Z420, where to plug them in card reader

My card reader was not working, so I opened my computer and found that the cable is still wrapped and plastic.  Where do I plug?

    Thanks - Bob

    Thank you
    Bob

    Bob,

The card reader must be USB based and must connect to any free USB 2.0 port on the motherboard.

#4 and 3 X #6 are USB 2.0 ports (the word "HERE" is directly under the ports on this image)

    Hi, Douglas,.

Go to the Device Manager (hold the windows down and press Pause/break) and look for a direct entry for the card reader or possibly an entry of "unknown" USB device Uninstall the card reader or the unknown USB device (RIGHT click on the device and then click on Uninstall LEFT) and then restart the PC and start Windows it should detect and reinstall the card reader. Uninstalling/reinstalling fixes several issues of device.

    Hi people,

When I plugged a new card reader, Lexar Pro USB 3.0 Dual Slot player, I lost all my saved metadata that are used for imports.  Now, when I type in the metadata, it registers on the photos, but then it is not saved for later use, as it was before. I'm trying to save him, but it does not work. Any ideas? Is Lightroom 3, version 3.6.  10.8.5 Mac.  Thank you, dwc

I think that's the problem. Go to the original catalog, uncheck it, close LR, open LR, and create the new catalog.

  • HP pavilion slimline s5220y: the 6-in-1 card reader combo - headphone and microphone ports usb plug

where can I buy a combo of 6-one - with ports usb memory card reader and headphone and microphone jack. I can't find any place that has always part

    Goodrock, welcome to the forum.

Because the computer is almost 7 years old, I don't think that HP will have parts.  In my opinion, your best option is to buy an external card reader and card internal with USB ports.  Headphone and microphone sockets will be difficult to replace, or not at all.

  • Multi-card reader don't like to give back the cards Memory Stick Duo Pro 23 Pavilion all-in-one

I want to just make sure I don't do something wrong.

When I plug it into a SD card seats when inserted about 2/3 of the way into the slot and I can easily put my fingers on it to remove it when it's time to take it out.  When I plug the Memory Stick Duo Pro that is not recognized until it is at least inserted 9/10 and I can push completely rinse with a case and am not sure that it has bottomed out or not.  It works fine, but now it is not removable without the use of pliers tweezers.

Is this normal behavior and waited for the mult card reader integrated into 23 all-in-one Pavilion?

I have a more than adequate solution.  I plugged in the little USB card reader that accepts MS Pro Duo in their own homes. This post is therefore more closely to ensure that I'm not missing something obvious.

My guess is that the drive or the motherboard was designed for the case to be a little closer it is.

  • Desktop HP-H8-1110: Card Reader H8-1110

Hello, I upgraded the OS from W7 to W8.1 and my card reader 15-1 has stopped working. I don't know if it was a coincidence or a compatibility problem with W8.1, whether, I bought a replacement card reader and thinks that I need a SATA cable and would appreciate help to advise me which cable I should i.e. 7 red pine series of card mother SATA hard drive HD Signal data cable, SERIAL ATA HARD DRIVE SIGNAL HD SATA DATA CABLE Serial ATA adapter SATA S - ATA cable data,... to connect the replacement card reader?

    Thank you

    Lin

According to the card reader that was purchased, I suspect it uses a connexionUSB header, and not SATA.  If the existing card reader is always connected to the motherboard, simply plug in a new USB empty header.  A picure of the motherboard can be found HERE.  Just check that yours looks like.  Header USB connections are along the lower edge of the motherboard (pictured).  I see that your card mother peut having a special connctor for the card reader

just above the SATA, labeled Mini ports Card pictured, I've actually seen that before

  • eMachines ET1331-40F built in card reader not working not

    I have windows 7 Home premium 64-bit SP1

Seems that, after the latest updates of weeks MS resembles my 8 in 1 (?) card reader does not work. USB ports before work. I checked the Device Manager and under Universal Serial bus controllers, there is an unknown device with an exclamtion point. I tried to look for new drivers and uninstall and reininstalling but niether of those who worked.

I did add a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse before the adapter, but I don't think that's the problem.

How can I get my built in back online and functional card reader?

Thank you, but it has been my experience that cancellations after windows updates are extremely rare and rarely necessary.

That should only be done in extreme emergency, e.g. PC is locked or you think you have a virus (which a restore may or may not help with that).

My problem has been resolved in a more easy way:

    (1) turn off the PC and unplug the power cord.

    (2) open the PC and look for cord behind built in card reader. Follow it from the motherboard and disconnect. NOTE: Take a close look at the orientation of the connector AND pins. I didn't know that mine has 2 rows of pins and my card only worked in the lower row.

    (3) card reader unplugged, Leaving the power cord PC and market challenges.

    (4) turn off the PC and unplug it.

    (5) card built in reader of card to card mother. The PC power cord and turn on PC

    (6) check device manager > USB bus controllers, you should now have no points of question marks or exclamation points. Check mobile devices. You should see all the respective readers for each built card reader function.

Essentially by unplugging and re plugging the card reader you give windows a chance to lose and re - search for the appropriate driver. For some reason, remove the driver and new driver search did not work for me, but the above steps worked.

  • CR504U2 card reader

    Hello.

I have windows 7 on my current computer (GA-g41m-es2l)

I found completely decomposed dx2300 microtour format (it has been run by forklift, I guess) and it was mainly trashed.

    http://h18000.www1.HP.com/products/QuickSpecs/12668_div/12668_div.html

The one I saw had a CR504U2 card reader, so for the intact part, I took it home.

I connected on the PC which ran from Puppy Linux to test, just to test, and it worked without any problem. 8 gb sd? with 256 MB of CF? and 1 GB MS pro? > absolutely no problem. the usb connector worked.

So I plugged on my GA-G41m-ES2L:

I unplugged the pannel x rear usb 2 which was related to F_USB1 (while F_USB2 was connected to the front, irony?). This Panel has been fully occupied, but as I had enough room for USB keys on my motherboard, I took this off.

Then I inserted the card reader and plugged into F_USB1.

And it is where all problems begin.

Card reader runs the USB connector (which is simply a bridge of motherboard), but it doesn't read ANY card.

With any, I mean simply none of this. not right this FC, no MS pro, SD

I searched all along, I don't seem to find a driver at all, there is no disc in my disk manager or device manager sees it as hard drive.

Anyone have any suggestions what to do? It seems strange that Puppy linux recognizes and works with her all the time, so that my windows 7 on ga-g41m-es2l don't.

(PS Yes, integrated connector will symmetrically 5V - D-0 - D + - and in the other line his 1NC.)

    Detective Conan.

It really boiled over in my head today, so I took out of the box, unplugged the card reader, started the system, connected, plugged.

Recognized card reader and work. (!!)

Still have no idea why na plugged not run when everything first, but at least it works!

    Thanks anyway!

  • Internal card reader & USB ports stop working in Windows 7 64 bit - HELP

This seems to be VERY popular problem between Vista and 7 users. I can't find the right difficulty any where. I have a HP Pavilion of D5200T running Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit. (I can provide more specific if necessary specifications). I read a few other posts in this forum with exactly the same problem as me, I tried the suggested fixes - most of them anyway - and my problem persists.

This is the story of the kind: bought PC Cognac nine in June 09. It came with Vista Home premium 64-bit. On the front panel, I have the HP 15 in 1 reader cards and below that another panel with micro/headphones, 2 USB ports and 1 port Firwire catches. They all worked great worked great, no problem at all. I bought Windows 7 and improved in October 09. These two USB ports and card reader have been in place since then. I turn on the computer or restart works and they. Slide into a car SD, CF, whatever it is. Little green light turns on, windows automatically opens on the screen indicating the contents of the card.

The card reader is no longer everything first. It may be 15 minutes later, perhaps hours. I slip on a map and still get the little green light but nothing on the screen. As if no card has been inserted. 2 USB ports will do the same thing, just much less frequently. I step a USB item and I have an error message saying: is not recognized or not installed properly. If I restart - they are all back to work very well.

So... this problem only started after the Windows 7 installed, then it is clear to me is where the problem lies. When card readers or USB is in their State of non-working, I'll go to Device Manager and see that they are always listed, and there is no indicator of errors.

This is what I remember by train so far, without success. I uninstalled devices from the Device Manager, driver too. I tried unplugging them from the card, restart, reconnected, reinstall. I tried different plugs on the motherboard. I can't find the latest drivers. The courses are MS 21/06/06 6.1.7600.16385. I think I tried all utilities integrated in Win7 to try and diagnose, and none of them produced no results. I tried to disable the sleep function. I even reached out to HP support, and the best they have resulted so far is that the card reader is bad. They are sending me a new, but I do not think that this problem will be solved.

As I said, I see this problem or similar to many, many forums but I have rarely seen a happy ending where it was fixed. Someone at - it the key? Help, please.

  • USB internal card reader not detected by Windows 7 Pro 64

The return of the story is this: my Dell Inspiron 546 recently dropped when the HARD drive failed terminally.  "Rather than replace the HD, I opted for the upgrade of ' with a refurbished desktop computer.  I'm done with a Dell Optiplex 760 MT, which I am very happy with.  He has a new 128 GB SSD mounted and I have a new 1 to Seagate Barracuda disk HARD ready to go in it, when I get a longer SATA data cable for it.

In any case, I got a few pieces off the Inspiron to go in the Optiplex: memory card reader 2-4 GB of RAM, DVD - RW and media 3.5 "internal.  The RAM of works well (taking the system to a total of 6 GB).  The DVD - RW works fine (once I activated the SATA port in the BIOS).  However, the card reader does nothing.

I plugged into a vacant USB connector on the motherboard, which has been marked something like "INT USB".  However, Windows doesn't see it, and it does not show in the Device Manager.  It's as if she is not there at all (no lights, nothing).

This card reader worked fine on the Inspiron (which was an AMD Athlon 64 machine, but running Windows 7 it 32 b).

Any ideas?  I had a glance through the BIOS and can't see anything obvious.  I assumed that being a USB device, it would just spring to life, but I do not.

The Optiplex has the following important elements:

    Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz (E8400)

    Intel Q43 chipset

    Transcend SSD 128 GB

    6 GB of RAM (2 x 1 + 2 x 2)

(HD 3000 memory) integrated Intel graphics card

    DVD - ROM (standard adjustment)

DVD - RW (from the Inspiron).

    The fixed.

First, to use the USB header, you should disable the "floppy" in the BIOS.  I tried this but it didn't work.  However, States manual service, you should disable the front disk to install the player, so I unplugged the drive, put under tension, then stopped again, plugged in and restarted.  I also disconnected and re connected the cable at the end of the drive.

According to these fixed it, I don't know, but now it's the hunky dory, seen in the maps of Manager and reading of the device as it should.
