• Photoshop CS3 can be configured to open Bridge CS4 on launch?

  I used PS CS3 for a couple of years and then bought Photoshop Elements 8 last year because I felt that it was more modern, included Bridge CS4, was incredibly cheap and would also do everything I wanted.

  I found out that PS CS3 has a few useful elements that are lacking in PSE8 so I just reinstalled it.

  I would like to be able to have it automatically launch the new CS4 Bridge rather than his own version, but it will not.

  Is it possible to do?

  If not, is it possible to run CS4 Bridge manually and use it with PS CS3?

  I tried, but whenever I double click a photo in CS4 Bridge it also opens PSE8.

• Adobe Bridge CS6 Mac cannot be launched

  Dear Adobe community!

  I just installed my new CS6 Design & Web Premium Suite on my MacBook Pro with OS X 10.8.3 and installed all the updates that are available for CS6.

  Unfortunately I can't launch Bridge (version 5.0.2.4) of my account (admin privileges) - after double clicking on the icon of the application window appears for just a fraction of a second and I get a saying of pop-up window, something like "could not be successfully" (I'm under a German language version).

  -Try to launch Bridge from PS results in the same error message.

  -Rampage the Bridge preferences file has not changed anything.

  -From bridge with down option and force reset all default settings doesn't change anything.

  -Start my Mac in SafeMode (SHIFT key at startup) doesn't help.

  But create a new user on my single Mac user to launch the bridge when connected to this new account.

  I'd be more than happy to receive some useful comments from the experts here!

  Updated - problem finally solved!

  What happened between the two:

  I started a chat session with one of the Adobe support guys. He said that the cause of the failure was probably a conflict with the permissions.

  After that I told him that I had tried to fix the permissions several times by unsuccessfully Apple disk utility he suggested to copy the following file / directory of my 'Test' newly created user (under the direction of which bridge could be launched without effort):

  [username]/Library/Preferences/com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist

  and the whole directory

  [user name] / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Bridge CS6

  If that would not solve my problem, there was no other "cure" for my problem due to an irreparable permission conflict.

  After that, I logged in as the new user 'Test' and copied the mentioned files / directory on a separate drive, connected to the back as my standard user (account where bridge refused to start) and he replaced the files I had exported just before.

  Result: Same problems - bridge refused to start as before.

  Dang...

  Therefore, there is no way to solve this problem as I said Adobe?

  Assuming that the problem of the current permission has been the cause of my problem of bridge, I decided to 'force' the permissions:

  I went OS X Finder, marked the home directory of my problematic account, typed cmd + I to open the Info window, went to the bottom section where the permissions are listed, wnet to the Group of users "admin" and marked this group as "read and write" (it was read only before!) and chose the option to apply theses settings to all subdirectories and files (icon with the gear wheel).

  Once the changes in an application I rebooted my Mac and logged in as my user standard and open Bridge:

  Bridge began, but showed the subdirectories of my account 'Test '. So I stopped bridge, deleted the file com.adobe.bridge5.0.plist of my standard account, restarted my Mac - and voila - works of bridge like a charm!

  Finally I wouldn't say that there is no 'plan B '...

  Maybe this workaround may be useful for someone out there!

  In PS CS3, there was a preference setting to automatically open the bridge at the launch of Photoshop.

• Update to Adobe Bridge CC to work with Photoshop CC 2015

  I've just updated Photoshop CC 2014 and 2015. Which works very well. I then applied the update to the bridge. Bridge will now launch fine, but when I try to open an image I get an error message saying that Windows cannot find Photoshop. The path, there need is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC (64 Bit) \Photoshop.exe. It's really weird because does not point to CC Nevermind 2014 2015 CC.

  I tried to uninstall bridge via the creative cloud Panel and then a reinstall. Still the same problem. Before I updated to 2015 bridge CC worked very well with CC 2014. It is only since the update of 2015 the redone problem surface.

  Any suggestions?

  I'm a Mac guy I can only give you a guess.

  Not sure what happened to cause this but one thing you might try is to go to the preferences of your Bridge and go to the file type Associations tab. Now scroll through the different types of files and select some more frequent for the PS (JPEG, TIF, etc..) Check that the track of the bird to the PS goes to the right place and if it is not reset it.

  Let us know if that does or not.

  I'm on a Windows 7 Pro machine and until a week ago was running applications CC 2013 updated as body 7.2.2 Ps, AI, etc... Who ran smooth as butter.

  After the update of the CC desktop app and installing versions of PS 2014, HAVE, PR, AE, etc (previous versions CC 2013 have been installed yet at this point), I noticed that the file associations have been broken.

  In addition, when I'm in PS 2014 and go to file > Browse in Bridge - instead of launching the bridge, it launches the application of Office CC and guests me with "Are you sure you want to install this version of the bridge"?   From what I've been reading on various forums, there are many problems with the versions of the apps 2014. Very frustrating. Big mistake for me to install apps as soon as 2014, I should have waited a few months before the first round of the plots were out.

• Impossible to update Adobe Bridge CS5

  I just reinstalled Photoshop CS5 on my new desktop replacement processor.  I tried to update, but kept getting the message to close Adobe Bridge CS5.  It is closed.  I tried the following suggestions of the fair questions: (1) went to the Task Manager and confirmed that Adobe Bridge is closed.  (2) tried to go in Edition > Preferences > advanced to say ch is not to load the bridge at the launch.  There is no progress and no ability to check/uncheck.  (3) tried to download the 12.0.3 patch, but can not find anywhere in downloads, showing for me.  Help!

  I finally found the answer to my question continuing to search.  Adobe Bridge is running in the background.  To stop it, I had to go to the Task Manager > processes.  In addition, edit > Preferences > advanced was in Adobe Bridge - not Photoshop.  I'm all squared away.

• Bridge not remembering last Position for the side panels?

  The side panels in Bridge CS6 will not remain at the last position value when I close? I thought that it was a case of bridge don't close don't properly during the shut down Windows (7). I then tried to fix the side panels to where I only they and returned file > exit to close the bridge correctly and when I run it still lacks the right position. Doesn't he remember this and how can I change this?

  If you must start that Bridge to the launch has allowed closing the procedure should work.

• What's up with the bridge color management?

  After obtaining a range wide screen (Eizo S2243W), it was a pleasure to be able to see the Adobe RGB colors that I knew were in the file, but previously could not be displayed. Although the Windows desktop and interface elements user sounds loud, I got used to that.

  ID, PS, AI, everything works perfectly. But I discovered that the bridge does not follow suit. The funny is that it shows the mute, standard version for 'gamut' - saturated not as one would expect with a range wide screen and non-functional color management (if this is the case). The only reasonable explanation for what I see is that the document profile is converted to sRGB. I can't reproduce otherwise.

  I'm no stranger to the color of help desk management, and according to my experience, the prime suspect in this case is still the monitor profile. So I've done several things to validate the profile. I recalibrated using the calibrator Eizo grouped with its EX1 (actually just a renamed Spyder3) sensor, and I recalibrated using color eyes Display Pro with another probe Spyder3. I also tried with Adobe RGB as the monitor profile just for troubleshooting.

  In all cases, I checked in the color settings PS that the profile has been actually used, and in any case, the effect of muting still shows in Bridge. Now, I am sure that PS/ID/HAVE rendering is indeed good. Suite color management is synchronized, using Adobe RGB as RGB working space.

  I have also purged caches of bridge in every way I can think and then reset the preferences of Bridge by ctrl-launch and control of the confirmation dialog box.

  The screenshots of the following two require a color managed browser and a range wide screen, since the difference is outside the sRGB gamut. The first used Adobe RGB as a monitor profile and a Adobe Integrated RGB, the second has the Eizo monitor profile assigned and integrated. They are similar, but the other should show exactly as I see it (click to view the display not set cache, the difference does not directly show in Firefox):

  Bridge poster of the images based on the pre-rendered JPEG files that it stores in its memory cache. It's thumbnails, larger and sometimes 100% previews previews. When creating these JPEG files, it uses made color Relative to the color space sRGB. However, it is usually * displays them correctly, based on the primary poster color profile.

  I have Photoshop CS4 on 32 XP system. Bridge would break to blue screen whenever I try to switch from film to view essentials. In desperation, I uninstalled ch & bridge then reinstalled after the driver update for G-force 8800 GT Nvidea.  Now bridge will not launch.  Gives a message of Windows this program had to shut it down before it still goes to the start screen.  Now the CTRL while launching translates a bit of HD but no message or visible activity of the office.  PS itself seems to work ok after re - install.  Help, please!

  You said in your 1st post you had no success with reset preferences.  Have you tried this with the old drivers?

  Hold down the CTRL key and then click the start icon.  Should get a reset with 3 options window.  Choose all 3.

  Open the Task Manager, look in the processes tab and make sure that there is no bridge.exe listed.  Sometimes with autostart can run in the background.

• Why not Bridge CS3 just stops working?

  As of today, I started having trouble with Bridge CS3. Out of the blue, just bridge cannot be launched more. I'm running 10.6.2 and it worked well, I changed nothing and like it, whenever I try to start the application - nothing. Just an error notification asking me if I want to report the accident or ignore it. The madman it is that everything works fine, only Bridge does not want to play with me.

  I have uninstalled all CS3 Design Standard, did a reboot, installed the whole package again - without any changes. Bridge just crashes at startup.

  Does anyone else have this problem a little bit? EC which could I / try?

  If you already have the discount cache files here is a workaround for a

  fresh start (but not guaranteed as it does in a new user, it can)
