CC now requires administrator rights, why?

We have a group of CC accounts who are sitting behind a firewall for business on managed computers.  until today, everything CC installed properly and without problems.  We had to open the ports to adobe at first, but everything worked without problem.

Now if I open Office CC, I am prompted with a update or quit message, if I try to update I have now tells me that I don't have sufficient administrator rights.  in truth, I never did! I never needed them for adobe CC.  So, why the change?

To save me strenuous exercise of HIM asking to try to find out what can be done.  Nobody knows what can be done to solve this problem...

should I ask HIM to do?

Do not give the full administrator rights!

I can't believe that adobe would force a requirement for administrator rights, except potentially the market of the client company.

Any help appreciated,

Thank you

Chris

I think that you have already found a solution for this problem.

But my problem was a little like you, when the box has been commissioning it fails due to administrator permissions.

    Solution:

    -> Open TaskManager

    -> Go to startup

-> Select Dropbox and press the left button of the mouse to properties

-> A obtained the compatibility chart

-> Check the box "run this program as Administrator"

  • FAQ (27): the SDM requires administrator rights to run?

When I launch SDM, it happens with this dialog box. Is this normal?

Yes. SDM requires administrator rights because it requires the appropriate rights to update or apply SoftPaq updates to your computer.

The above message appears only if UAC (User Access Control) is turned on and that the user doesn't have administrator rights. For more information about UAC, please visit this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control

UNFORTUNATELY, the SDM version 3.5.0.0 (later from this post) has a problem where it wrong will not recognize the user as administrator if UAC is enabled.

If you have the SDM version 3.5.0.0, have active UAC and you are logged on under an account that has administrator rights and SDM displays the dialog box above, please note that this is a bug found ONLY in the SDM 3.5.0.0 version and will be fixed with the next version.

In the meantime, there are two solutions we can suggest you to work around this problem:

    (1) Although not recommended, you can disable UAC and reboot for the changes to take effect. We do not recommend this approach because UAC protects the computer against attacks. We include this option only for purposes of completeness.

    2) RECOMMENDED WORKAROUND: Force MDS to start with administrator right.  To do this, please follow these steps to work around the problem, until a new version of SDM is available:

    1. Open Windows Explorer.
    2. Go to C:\Program Files (x 86) \Hewlett-Packard\HP SoftPaq Download Manager. Note: If you have a 32-bit operating system, navigate to C:\Program Hewlett-Packard HP SoftPaq Download Manager.
    3. Right click on the file "SoftPaqDownloadManager.exe".
    4. Select "Run as Administrator" from the context menu.

I never have this problem on other portable Toshiba (Tecra A4, S2, M1...) Please help :-)

What about the case is clear, if the user wan to access the flash memory module inserted that he needs an admin rights

What you could do is to assign admin rights only for this particular application, which is responsible for flash memory.

I put t know exactly what applications it is but I guess on these program needs the right admin; Memory card SD, SD memory boot utility, format etc.

To assign the authorization right right click on the applications and select Properties.
Here, you have to choose the call of the Security tab.
Then select the user and allow the full control option.

    Hi all

Application is a medical Client / Server using SQL in the database model. and resides on the SBS 2008 with XP Server and client computers.

Rather that to load the client on windows XP, it would not sense to simply run the application console using the Terminal Server services and configure the application to start an hour of connection on. Given that the application requires administrator rights to run, how can I assign admin right only on demand, so when they connect, they can use the application with the given admin rights but do not have access to the rest of the server or control?

  • CS5 requires administrator rights?

I work in a COMPUTER assistance service, and many of our users who are just beginning to get Adobe CS5 are experancing problems.

All of our users DO not have the admin rights.

Whenever they launch Photoshop cs5, this is the mistake they receive:

The instruction at "0x0fcaa8dc" referenced memory at "0x000b0000". The memory could not be "read".

    Screenshot:http://imgur.com/LISVn.jpg

When we run the program with an administrator account, it opens fine without any errors.

It's the first version of Adobe CS that we encountered this problem with. CS4 was running like a champ before for all non-admin users.

Anyone know if there are some files that I need permission to get this to work for our users.

    Thank you.

  • Addition of administrative rights: why such a headache?

So I found these instructions for adding administrator rights to my user name, but it does nothing.  I added the user, but still I can't yet change my Hosts file in System32.

    Right click on my computer
    Click on manage
    Expand local users and groups
    Click on groups
    Double-click on administrators
    Click Add
Enter the name of the account on this machine that you want to assign administrator privileges for.
    OK your way back.

These instructions are correct for XP SP3?  When I go to administrators in the group I see my username in the box as well as the administrator.  In the description, it says I have full and unrestricted access.  However, in Documents and Settings, I don't see this user name.

Clear as mud.  Makes no sense to me.

    Can someone please explain this?

What editor do you use to edit this file?  I assume you are using Notepad.  Notepad is really stubborn that way.  Yes, there is a little trick.

To save a file in Notepad without the extension, you must do one
    File-> save as
Then change the 'Type' in 'All Files '.
Then, you must save your file named "hosts".  Note that you must include the period after "hosts", but nothing after the period.  Then, she will save without extension.

Alternatively, you can save the file as "hosts.txt", then rename the file "hosts" in "hosts.old", then rename the file "hosts".txt "hosts".  So, if you want, delete the file "hosts.old".

  • Windows Vista does not work for all programs requiring administrator rights

I have Windows Vista Business SP1 on a Dell XPS laptop. He worked from 3-4 years. It seems that after a recent update (in the last week), I rebooted the laptop and after that Vista can not run programs that require administrator privileges. This includes most of the items in the Panel, the observer of events, computer management, elevated command prompt and so on.

After logging in, I get a notification of the task bar that says "Windows cannot connect to the customer service group policy."

When I try to any program requiring administrative privileges (for example, msconfig), I get an error "Windows cannot find C:\Windows\system32\msconfig.exe. Make sure you typed the name correctly and try again"

I restored the system (from safe mode) for a day where it seems to be ok, but the problem remains.

The sound in the system tray icon is a trademark of the Red Cross on it, but sounds work ok.

Analyses of virus through McAfee (all installed updates and latest virus definitions) showed no signs of the virus.

As already mentioned in the original post, System Restore does not resolve the problem. I got to the new vista installation to fix the problem. Some windows updates and reboot after applying the update seems to be the cause.

  • required administrator rights

I am the owner and the only user of my HP pc, with Windows 7 Home Premium.
In some casese, it happens that I can't install some application (same), because he says that I don't have administrator rights.
I bought the unit new retailer, with an operating system already installed.

    What can I do?

    Here you go:

    1. Right click on the installer.
    2. Click on "Run as Administrator".
  • Vista always requires administrative rights when downloading software

My user account in Vista is labeled as an administrator.
This is the only account on the laptop.

However whenever I download a program for example it still makes me download into the folder "downloads" that I did not have permission from the administrator to download where I choose.

Anyone know why this is the case and how to solve this please?

'Real' Vista administrator account is disabled by default, so even if you are an administrator, you need real administrator privileges to do certain tasks.

What you can try, it is right click on the Internet Explorer icon and choose 'run as administrator '.

Or try another browser such as Firefox.

  • Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 required administrator rights

I have Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 (I know, I know) and when I try to run it from a limited account, I get an error stating that I have administrator privileges. Is it possible to replace that or enter my password once? I don't need my children asking me my password every time they want to play. It doesn't seem like it does all what changes the computer, why can't it be used in a user account only limited?

    Specifications of the computer:

    • HP (not sure of the exact model number)
    • Windows XP SP3 (fully updated)
    • AMD Athlon X 2 Dual Core 4400 + @2.19 Ghz
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • Graphic ATI Express 200 Radon

I don't mind enter my password once to grant access, I'm not only you have to enter it every time my kids want to play. Thank you for your help.

    This is normal.

As a work around, follow these steps:

    1. Click on the shortcut or the name of the program file.
    2. Click Advanced, click run with different credentials, and then click OK.
    3. Start the program.
    4. When you are prompted, type an administrator user ID and password.

  • Local administrator rights required for updating creative cloud?

    Hello

We have a marketing service that uses the product of the creative team Cloud. They have laptops running Windows 7, we do not give them rights to local administrator for obvious reasons.

  • All actions that require administrator crash explore rights

    Hi all

I am the only user and administrator of a laptop 2 years running Windows 7. Since a few weeks I'm having the following problem:

Every time I try to do anything that requires administrator rights - anything with the small blue and yellow shield icon or anything that triggers the popup user account control - action fails, the browser freezes and folders, start menu etc will not work again until I restart the computer. This includes for example

    • uninstall programs
    • Copy / move files in certain folders such as Program Files
    • run as administrator
    • elevated command prompt
    • Account user and UAC settings

It is a particularly annoying question because that's a lot of steps that I would usually take to try to solve the Windows completely unavailable to me. In fact, I fear that a type of Windows backup & restore or re - install wizard may also fail because I am unable to do anything requiring a UAC confirmation.

    Additional information:

    • the problem appeared when I tried to delete a folder called C:\d674b4d8ac649aa28b5935e3e33163 (I can't open it even and I don't know what it is)
    • When the Explorer froze and I force a restart, an error message appears briefly before the stop. ("Too other files are currently used by 16-bit programs. Quit one or more 16-bit programs, or increase the value of the FILES command in your config.sys file. »)

What can I do to fix this problem and regain control of my laptop?

This does not resolve the issue.

OK, here's the next steps when running in Mode safe:

    • Re-run msconfig.exe, then do this:
      1. click on the Services tab.
      2. check the box that hide all Microsoft services.
      3. uncheck all remaining hatches.
    • Run this command from a command prompt:
      SFC.exe/scannow

If this does not resolve the problem when booting in Normal Mode, so I am unable to offer any other suggestions.
