  After the installation of vista dvd unit is not reading any disk until you restart. To be more precise, from the first moment, I bought the laptop, I try to install ms works disk, but the device did not read.

  I got a Thoshiba Satellite L 30 - X 10 running Vista Home Basic. I have an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 M graphics card. I am able to read DVDs and games that don't require open gl, but when I try to play Wolfenstien or call of duty it get the message that it cannot open the GL and I need to update my drivers.

  I updated my drivers, it still does not work.

  In the Ati Catylst program it says I have the above card and it gives me the 3d map 28octobre but says no version available on the video card, even though device manager says it's working properly. Help.

  Can someone please help me as I'm not familiar with Vista.

  my computer will also create save points, but does not restore on any of my points of backup might it have an impact on the open gl for the games as everything else works well.

  I don't know if this may be a good solution but perhaps it s worth a try:

  1. download the latest version of the software here touchpad:

  2. remove the old software
  3 reinstall the downloaded software
  4. go to mouse properties and check if everything is set up (especially the scrolling feature)

  You said the laptop captures and works with our router wireless of neighbouring s. In this case, nothing wrong with the network card wireless laptop, but with compatibility between the WiFi router and wireless network card.

  In case of you, I would check if the card supports the same standard Wlan (802.11 A, B, G) as the router.
  You can also try to disable security settings and try to connect without encryption settings.

  I had a similar problem. Finally, I find that my card did not support WPA2, but only the WEP and WPA encryption.

  As far as I know using DVD-RAM disks in the DVD MULTI drive, data can be written so that the function to write data on discs CD-R/RW standard Windows XP is enabled.

  I doubt that this could be a Vista or CD/DVV drive problem, I think that it s more a problem of compatibility of the disk.

  I recommend that you test some different discs from different manufacturers.
  Some have said here that the TDK discs are fine

  I tried these discs also and never had any problems burning / writing.

  Did you try to apply this difficulty? If you have, and it still doesn't show, try to start it.  Make sure that you have a bootable disk and make sure it is set to boot from the optical drive in the BIOS first.  If you can't then it's a hardware problem and the player or another material is defective...
