Hello. I'm sorry to speak English here, but I found this thread on the version Google English during my research on how the hell I can get an external monitor to work on my Alpha 12 switch. I first tried the connected HDMI same Aukey adapter above, but it did not work with the Alpha 12 switch.

I have had success using "3.1 C Type of HDMI adapter USB cable issues" with my Alpha 12 switch for support of external monitors. Single port USB - C adapter HDMI (19.99 euros) and the more expensive card multiport (49.99 euros) of the questions cable should work. I got from Amazon USA, but I see that the German Amazon site sells too. No drivers needed. It worked the first time a few seconds to connect on my Alpha 12 switch. I read online that you should already have the HDMI cable connected to the adapter before plugging it into the USB Type C of your computer port, or it may not work.

Hello. I don't know if you still need help with this, but I had success by using the USB cable from questions 3.1 Type C HDMI adapter with my Alpha 12 switch for support of external monitors. The single HDMI port map ($23) and the map more expensive multiport ($50) of the questions cable should work. I got it on Amazon. No drivers needed. It worked the first time a few seconds to connect on my Alpha 12 switch. I read online that you should already have the HDMI cable connected to the adapter before plugging it into the USB Type C of your computer port, or it may not work.

I saw on the German version of the website of Acer support that you used a USB Aukey Type C HDMI adatper. I also tried this same card, but it did not work with the switch Alpaha 12. I do not recommend as adapters of Aukey for Acer Alpha 12 switch based on my experience. The 'Plugable USB - C for HDMI adapter 2.0"(Plugable is the brand name) is also supposed to work but I have not tested. But a reviewer of Amazon said it worked and it lists the compatible Alpha 12 switch on their web site.

  • Refresh rate of Quadro NVS 140 for external monitor

I absolutely have to change on my external monitor refresh rate. I dropped the laptop this morning and broke the LCD screen, so I plugged an old maryvonne 17F3. I can't change the refresh rate and it flickers badly. Technical support eMachines stated that the refresh rate is controlled by the video card and that no driver is required for their monitor (as they have not first: smileysurprised :).) So how can I change the refresh rate? I have the latest Dell drivers for my 830 latitude.

    Thank you.

  • I can change the virtual position of an external monitor?

I have a second monitor attached to my Surface Pro running Windows 8.1. The system "sees" this monitor as being placed to the right of my main screen, so that when I drag the mouse on the right side of my screen the pointer continues on the external monitor.

However, the monitor is actually positioned to the left of my laptop, so this movement is very ironic. Any way to change direction?

    Hi @MPBEqual,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your post and wanted to help.

I understand that you want to use the external keyboard and the monitor while the laptop lid is closed.

You must go to the Power Options. Set it to do nothing when the lid is closed.

You can view this document in order to manage power options:

  • Toshiba R100: External monitor as the primary display device

    Hello

I would like very much to have my 17 "external monitor (1280 x 1024) selected as main display device, unfortunately, the option is grayed out in the display settings.

Moreover, I want to run 1280 x 1024 on the built-in-monitor and the external monitor and then turn off the built in monitor, but it does not seem possible either; the resolution changes again in 1024 x 768, when I try to turn the desktop on the external monitor.

    I've updated the display driver.

    I hope someone can help.

  • Satellite Pro S300 - cannot extend the desktop to an external monitor

    Hello
I have a Satellite Pro S300 and it won't extend the desktop to an external monitor / projector, but it will clone the desktop?

    so far I have tried:
2 instructors and 1 projector all do the same thing, will clone but not extend.
Reinstall the latest drivers to display on the Toshiba site.
Reinstall the latest drivers of change on the Toshiba site.

But nothing worked, I even checked my S300 colleagues to make sure that I use the same parameters and their (of 2 other s300) extend and clone office.

Has anyone seen this before and how solve you the problem?

    Paul

Did you first remove the old driver before you install the new driver? If this is not the case, try to reinstall the driver again. Therefore, to remove the old driver, restart the computer, use CCleaner to clean the registry and install the new version you can find on the Toshiba site.

More I would try updating the BIOS. You can find it on the Toshiba site too.

I hope it works for you.

  • Tecra A11 on Replicator Toshiba showing not external monitor

I tried 2 nine different laptops on 2 different nine port replicator toshiba both experience the same problem.

When you connect to the laptop from the dock on the first part of windows XP loading is shown. When windows starts, the external display is disabled. The laptop only back on the screen external return after you have opened a windows session. For a laptop connected to a domain or by using a password, it's hopeless because you can't see the screen to connect. If you open the laptop, you can enter the password, but then, when you close the lid, the laptop goes to sleep.

I have tried changing the settings in the mobile externsions and display options, but he remembers only the settings for when you are connected. Until the external display just doesn't work.

This could be a problem because laptops have been downgraded using the supplied XP toshiba image and full support with vista only?

I contacted toshiba support and they tell me it's a defective dock but I replaced it with another brand new and same problem exists. Hoping that someone else has an idea here...

    > When you connect the laptop to the dock on the first part of windows XP loading is shown. When windows starts, the external display is disabled. The laptop only back on the screen external return after you have opened a windows session.

It's not unusual and it ok s since the external monitor was not chosen as a primary monitor.
Laptops screen is a main display and so you can see the start of Toshiba computers screen laptop screen.

    > If you open the laptop, you can enter the password, but then, when you close the lid, the laptop goes to sleep.
As described above the screen of laptop computers is set as the main monitor and so you'll see everything on laptop screen until the end of the loading of windows.
PS: you can turn off the option that activates the mode 'sleep' closing the lid.

  • Tecra M5 - external monitor detected but not image

    Hello

I just bought Tecra M5 for use with my external NEC monitor. However, regardless of the configuration, I try I get no image on the monitor. The LED on the monitor indicates that it receives the signal from the laptop but the monitor remains black pitch. The monitor works obviously very well, I just disconnected from another laptop.

I tried all possible settings in the nVidia control panel, but without success. I also changed "Power On Display" in the BIOS "Screen LCD + Analog RGB" but no luck either.

I have v.3.70 of BIOS and graphics card drivers v.7.15.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Mike

PS When I press Fn + F5, I have no options to choose from, unlike the other FN +... combinations. I don't know that it should be everything, but it is perhaps worth mentioning.

Also when I select only 'use a view' of the nVidia control panel and select my NEC monitor in the list, the monitor turns on and the light turns green, but the screen is still black. Like I can't accept changes the output switches to the computer screen after a few seconds.

    Hello

I think you should test with the preinstalled Toshiba operating system.
After that the laptop was recovered, connect the external monitor and use the FN + F5 in order to detect the external display.

    Hi computeruser7,

I have read about this problem on other similar topics when the AC/DC adapter is connected.

So it seems to be a problem of the ground between the AC adapter and laptop.

You can solve the problem when you buy an adapter AC/DC 3 pins and power cord. I assume that your current AC adapter is just a version 2pin so change the AC/DC adapter should work.

  • External monitor gives strange aspect ration with Satellite P20 XP

I have a P20-552 (PSP26E-025E9-S4), who is four years and works well with XP Home SP3. For more screen space while editing video I recently bought an external monitor - an Acer X193w. It shows everything what is shown crashed down a little bit, that is to say, but it should show., a circle has a distinctive oval to it.

It is plugged into my Toshiba with analog cable and the only resolutions that it will give me are 1280 x 1024, 1024 x 768 and 800 x 600 which none do actually correspond to the 1440 x 900 on my Toshiba.

I tried all the settings that I could find, made sure my BIOS and nVidia are up-to-date and I exchanged a few e-mails with Acer support on the subject. Their support staff is now leading me round in a circle ("it is plug and play," "oh yes, that's sounds wrong", "here is the pilot", "no, we don't give installation instructions" and so on) and still no joy. The screen plug and play perfectly with an another Vista laptop that I have, but I really like to use with my Toshiba faithful.

    Suggestions, please?

    Thank you, Brian.

    Hello Brian

Sorry, but I believe that there is not a lot, you can do it. It is 19 wide TFT screen and your laptop s video card does not offer good resolution for it. Display modes Satellite P20 cannot offer the resolution 1440 x 900 for external displays.
