Tecra S11 - noise on external monitors

Hello

I recently started to use external monitors with my laptop on vga port but on the external monitor is appearing sort of flicker of fine lines.
I've tested on different monitors but im getting the same result (dell p2310h 1920 x 1080, hp 1702 1280 x 1024, old lcd 1024 x 768).
But heres comes the interesting part, his goes far when I unplug the power cable (no visible lines more)

While this maybe? laptop just 4 months.

Hi computeruser7,

I have read about this problem on other similar topics when the AC/DC adapter is connected.

So it seems to be a problem of the ground between the AC adapter and laptop.

You can solve the problem when you buy an adapter AC/DC 3 pins and power cord. I assume that your current AC adapter is just a version 2pin so change the AC/DC adapter should work.

Check this box!

  • Tecra S2: Definition of external monitor like main display

    Hi all

last week I got a new laptop Tecra S2 and I have the problem to my external monitor like main screen in dual display mode. The section in the window is grayed out.

Anyone know how can I enable this feature?

On my old laptop (Tecra S1 with ATI graphics card) there was no problem to move the main exit from the internal to the external display.

    Sincerely,
    Martin

    Hi Martin

As much as I know it is not possible to set the external monitor as primary. The LCD cell is always set as primary. I use Tecra M1 (similar to S1) and this option is grayed out too.

In my Office I use it with docking station and external monitor. When Windows starts the first appears on the external display, but the log in window is still shown at laptop LCD.

Sorry, but it's like it was. Designed Toshiba display driver has been installed on your old Tecra S1?

  • Tecra M11-LaTeX runs slow on external monitor using Express Port Replicator

    Hi all

I am having trouble with my Tecra M11 with an external monitor, through an Express Port Replicator II.

It is very accurate, but I am running texlive 2010 on my laptop to write a thesis. Whenever I use my laptop screen feature is very good, and it works very fast, no lag when I compile my document. As soon as docking it into my docking station at work to use it on a big screen, whenever I use the same program, it slows down a lot, finally causing the crash program. Its frustrating to lose a lot of your thesis like this! When I connect the external monitor directly to the laptop, it works fine again.

Something goes wrong in the docking station. Anyone know how I can fix this? Im a little confused and ideas. Maybe I pilot or something im unaware of. My docking station is maybe defective?

    Thank you

    Jake

Port replicator port on which do you use? VGA or DVI?

It won't be easy to provide the answer to your question. It is not possible to test all the software available with docking station and research solutions.
    I would say: bad luck.

  • Tecra S11 - 11G - external monitor flickers when the Wifi is enabled

I have a similar problem on my brand new Tecra S11 - 11G. The only difference is that the problem is present only when I have my laptop plugged in and turned on WiFi radio.

If I turn the Wifi radio off and keep the laptop connected to the power source, the external screen keeps flickering. If I keep the WiFi radio and disconnect it from the power source blinking stops, too.

I reported this problem to Toshiba customer to the Portugal (where I bought it) and they gave me the ticket case #710008193. They said that they would not replace the defective unit and that I should leave for repair. It is absolutely amazing because the laptop is brand new. A customer still expects to have a well work product when needed out of the box without having to call the repair man. I think it is their obligation to replace the damaged aircraft. In addition, this laptop is part of a fleet of the company who buys only Toshiba laptops and we are talking about a Tecra and not a Satellite. We deserve more respect from Toshiba.

In a year or two, I have a new laptop (company policy) and it surely won't be a Toshiba.

    > They said they would not replace the defective unit and that I should leave for repair. It is absolutely amazing because the laptop is brand new

That is why amazing? A hardware malfunction can still happen and this happens not only in the world of the computer/laptop. Therefore, manufacturers provide a service to a client and failure may be fixed and covered by the warranty.

    > A customer still waiting to have a well work product when needed out of the box without having to call the repair man. I think it is their obligation to replace the damaged aircraft

Of course you are right, but in the reality of things happening.
My PS3 died after a short period of time. It has been fixed and replaced under warranty conditions, but this isn't a reason for me to say; I would not buy PS3 more because of this problem.
My BMW had some engine problems, that it was fixed under warranty and I would buy this car again once because this car is great and I think other builders are no better, and I think this would also happen to other manufacturers

That s my personal opinion in the opinion

  • Tecra S11-128 on the external screen flashes

    Gentlemen.
    I have two problems.

1st. If I use the S11-128 with the provided power supply and an external LCD display, a distracting flickering effect is visible. It disappears if I run the laptop off the battery or with an old Tecra M2 supply (2004, electrically equivalent). My faulty power or is it a common behavior?

    2. I wrote a polite and detailed message, but the language of the forum filter does not let through, so that you get a condensed version X-(X -)

    TIA,
    Paolo

    > 1st. If I use the S11-128 with the provided power supply and an external LCD screen, a distracting flickering effect is visible. It disappears if I run the laptop off the battery or with an old Tecra M2 supply (2004, electrically equivalent). My faulty power or is it a common behavior?

These symptoms are typical for the land issue.
I much read about flicker on external monitors, while the laptop is connected to the power adapter.
In most cases, a 3Pin adaptor cable might solve this problem.

I recommend that you get in touch with an ASP local and order this cable.

  • Tecra Z50 - need to connect two external monitors

    * Hi-speed III Port Replicator is not an option, because it is not available in my country (Croatia).

    Hello

I don t think you will be able to connect two external monitors to this laptop using HDMI and RGB port at the same time because of different types of signals.

The RGB/VGA port supports analog signal.

The HDMI port provides the digital video output and when the external monitor is connected to the HDMI port the device is set to HDMI.

    > * Hi-speed III port replicator is not an option because it is not available in my country (Croatia).
What of the Dynadock? Its an external device connected to the s for computer laptop USB port.
It supports own graphic unit and you can connect to another external monitor such Dynadock 2nd.

  • Tecra A - external monitor swimming

    Hello

I have connected my tecra to a 2242 W LG via VGA. Now my external screen is swimming. It is somewhat strange because the external monitor already worked before with three different phones. My settings are 1680 * 1050 at 60 Hz.

    Thank you

    Murat

    Hey,.

What do you mean with swim? Do you mean that your monitor flickers?

If so try another cable. I would recommend a high quality of Lindy for example cable.

Otherwise, check the forum. You will find similar topics and it could be related to the AC adapter:

  • Tecra A10 - BSOD with Port Replicator Port and external monitor

    Hello

I have a Tecra A10 PTSB0A 05C023 with XP SP3 on an Express Port Replicator, running to an external monitor (1280 x 1024) on VGA. Works fine for a while then seems BSOD spontaneously when not in service - possibly when screensaver or powersaver comes into play.

    BSOD is a STOP 0x0000007E in igxpmp32.sys

I downloaded and installed the latest video drivers intel from the Web from Toshiba - 6.14.10.4953 site

Any help or advice by eliminating the BSOD would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Rhys.

    Hi mate,

I asked Google to igxpmp32.sys and this file belongs to the Intel display driver. In your case, I recommend the page Intel searching for the latest display drivers.

Also have a look on the Toshiba site for a BIOS update, or you have already installed the latest version of the BIOS?

In addition, it would be interesting to know what Port Replicator you use exactly. Can you post the model number?

  • Tecra M5 - external monitor detected but not image

    Hello

I just bought Tecra M5 for use with my external NEC monitor. However, regardless of the configuration, I try I get no image on the monitor. The LED on the monitor indicates that it receives the signal from the laptop but the monitor remains black pitch. The monitor works obviously very well, I just disconnected from another laptop.

I tried all possible settings in the nVidia control panel, but without success. I also changed "Power On Display" in the BIOS "Screen LCD + Analog RGB" but no luck either.

I have v.3.70 of BIOS and graphics card drivers v.7.15.

    Can anyone help?

    Thank you
    Mike

PS When I press Fn + F5, I have no options to choose from, unlike the other FN +... combinations. I don't know that it should be everything, but it is perhaps worth mentioning.

Also when I select only 'use a view' of the nVidia control panel and select my NEC monitor in the list, the monitor turns on and the light turns green, but the screen is still black. Like I can't accept changes the output switches to the computer screen after a few seconds.

    Hello

I think you should test with the preinstalled Toshiba operating system.
After that the laptop was recovered, connect the external monitor and use the FN + F5 in order to detect the external display.

  • Tecra S3: Driver needed to activate the resolution to 1680 x 1050 on external monitor

I am looking for a driver for Windows XP that supports an external monitor to 1680 x 1050 on a Tecra S3.
So far with the Toshiba drivers I can only use 1440 x 900.
The monitor can be detected through its resolution.

Is it possible to use two different external monitors?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    1. There is no official driver of Toshiba or Nvidia with this resolution.
I tested the driver 165.01 http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/drivers with the external resolution 1680 x 1050 and it works very well.
Download the driver and updated the inf file.

    2. even if you are using the docker, there is no way to use two external monitors connected VGA and DVI simultaneously. This is not supported.
Only of external solutions with a separate adapter grafics provide (for example Toshiba Dynadock, a usb solution). But from my point of view, all are not very satisfactory.

  • Tecra A10 - 1LL - connection with the external monitor

    Hello

I have a problem with my laptop Tecra A10.

When I connect to an external monitor to the laptop I have to manually switch the screens because external shows nothing. When I disconnect the monitor I have to pass the screens manually with FN + F5 because the internal display shows nothing.

My old laptop (Tecra A9 (PTS52E-0E702NGR)) is the poster automatically whenever I connected or disconnected an external monitor.

Anyone has an idea why the A10 light automatically as the old notebook? Maybe it's the only spot in the preferences of the display driver that I don't see right now. :-)

    Hi SilverWizard,

What happens if you try to switch on the external monitor using the options of display driver, or that this combination of buttons don t work?

As wrote Al - eX you must update tools from Toshiba to get the keys FN working again. Everything can be downloaded here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

    It's working now?

  • TECRA M1 problem - external monitor ressolution

I have Toshiba tecra m1 laptop and I plugged in the vga cable external monitor LG W2252TE. The ressolution fixed by the graphics card on the external monitor's maximum: 1280 X 1024, I wanto ressolution on 1680 x 1050 pourdefinir, because it is an optimal ressolutin through my monitor. My vga display the 4:3 format, but my monior is 16:9. How I can change this ressolution, it is possible to rewrite the friv graphics card and ressolutin added?, my graphics card: Trident XP4m32

    Hello

First of all, you must check if the graphics card chip allows and support your favorite external resolution.
According to the information in the user manual (which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page) this resolution are supported by a graphics chip:

    640 x 480
    800 x 600
    1024 x 768
    1280 x 1024
    1600 x 1200
    1920 x 1440
    2048 x 1534

Unfortunately 1680 x 1050 is not mentioned and I doubt you had the choice.
Also very important is the graphics card driver. If the driver doesn't include such a resolution then it will appear in the graphics card settings and you might not choose it.

  • Tecra M3: black screen on startup, the vertical lines on the external monitor

    Hi all

I searched a lot on the Internet for a solution to this specific problem, I have, but did not find a thread
with exactly the same problem. I have a Toshiba Tecra M3 with Windows XP SP 3. Two weeks ago, I encountered problems with the commissioning. After a couple of times to restart it would work. Then it became worse... When I try to run I see no splash... the screen remains black. If I press the power button, I hear the fan and CD player but no screen. It is totally black. I know its working because I can go (blindly) in the installation program. Press end, and then press Y and enter. The computer will restart but still no screen.

I plugged it to an external monitor. Pressing Fn and F5 allows switching. The external monitor shows different
vertical lines in multiple colors. They change if I go to settings or you try to start windows.

Does anyone have a solution to these problems?

I have fear of solution can be given by the service only.
In my view, this question must be tested properly.

I can't say for sure, but to me that sounds like a technical question. Without testing you will know for sure what is the problem.
Here on the forum we can only speculate why this happen.

As you can see on notebooka? s LCD problem. On external it doesnâ? t properly work as well. It may be a faulty graphics card.
Try to contact the nearest authorized Toshiba service and speak with the technician.
