Change hot IP address of a server of db

Hello
just a simple question: it is possible, a hot IP address changes (change of the IP address without stop and restart the database) to a server where an Oracle (10g) database is installed?
I have to stop the db, change the IP address and restart the database?
There are some files where the IP address is stored (tnslistener.ora,...)? If I use the hostname instead of IP in these configuration files, can I change the IP address without problem on my continuity of service after changing the pointer to my clients?

Best regards
GIO

No, it is not possible, and without a doubt you don't need to restart the database as the database is not to use the TCP/IP protocol.
First of all, you should NOT use IP hard-coded in any listener.ora multiple tnsnames.ora.
However, a DNS address is resolved by Oracle only once, to leave the listener or proceed with the connection at the time.
You must also reconfigure the dbcontrol or the Gridcontrol. In the latter case, the Management Agent must be stopped, and agentca d must be run to reconfigure.
So: you have a maintenance window. Of course, you can set up the correct files beforehand (outside the correct targets.xml, which is required by the Management Agent)

    Hello

I wonder if it is possible to change the IP address of a server IP v3.0. If so, it is a simple and painless as operation:

-change the ip mode t conf

    -start the services

I got this done exactly that way.

The only thing that was weird was that address source RADIUS still showing old IP.  After you apply the same settings, it's OK.

  • Changing the IP address of the server running vCenter 2.5 U4 affects Update Manager Plugin

    Hello

I have vCenter 2.5 U4 installed on a test server.  I now want to move it into production and need to change the IP address of the server.  All is well except the Manager Plugin update does not work.  When I connect to vCenter it gives me the message: "request failed because of a logon failure.   When I connect to vCenter it gives me the message: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

I looked in the logs and found that she always tries to connect with the old IP address of the server:

"System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: a connection attempt failed because the connected party responded properly after a period of time, or an established connection failed because connected host has failed to 10.250.48.230:443.

My question is where can I change here to access the new IP address that I put in the server.  I found the address in "vci - integrity.xml" and change it in there but it always wants to connect to the old address:

    “”

Note: The change was 10.250.48.230 to 10.250.48.130.

Is there also, I need to change?  Or do I need to UNINSTALL Manager Plugin update and then REINSTALL?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rick Townsend

I would try a repair installation, because I think it will prompt you to enter the appropriate IP information there.

With EPG, you don't need to make any configuration changes, you have to work on the new IP/hostname.

You could try running the following just in case wherever it may help, as SYSDBA

    SQL> EXEC DBMS_XDB.setlistenerlocalaccess(FALSE);
    SQL>COMMIT;

  • change the IP Address of the server.

    Hi hussein.

We have an EBS R12.1 running on the server linux OEL, with IP 192.168.1.100
The network admin want to change it to 192.168.10.211 for standardization purposes.
How can I make my EBS R12 to adapt to this new IP address? AutoConfig is the solution? or should I run cloning?

    Thank you very much

    Ms. K

    Hello

You will need to purge the table as shown FND_NODES (Note: 260887,1 - steps to own non-existent nodes or IP addresses of FND_NODES) then tun AutoConfig on the node of the database layer and the application layer node. Start application services once you are finished.

If you get a blank page, please compile JSP files manually using "perl ojspCompile.pl - compile - hunting Pei 2 ' command.

  • Change the IP address of the SQL of Virtual Center Server

    Hello

I'm in the middle of a passage of the intellectual property, and I moved with success all of my vSphere infrastructure, including the server vCenter, of new IPs.  All that's left to move is the WIndows box runnung the SQL database for vCenter.  Can anyone describe the steps necessary to change the IP address of the SQL Server?  Is it as simple as stopping the service and change the IP?

Thanks in advance for any help.

stop the Server Service vCenter, update your IP address to your SQL Server and test your ODBC connection.  If all the good tests, just restart the vCenter Server Service.

  • Change DNS IP addresses on the ESX host server

    Hello

I need to change the IP address of my Windows DNS servers on the my ESX hosts. I know I can do this through the vsphere client, but that requires a reboot of the servers. Is there a way I can do this via ssh by changing a file that will not cause a restart of the host? If so, please describe how to do this.

Also, if the host is restarted, what will happen in the virtual machine of in the interval until the host is upward? It will cause the virtual machine to restart as well, or so I have to restart their after that the host is back? I also disabled HA until I did the DNS changes.

  • change my IP address

I'm changing the IP address on my P1505n, but I can't access the HP integrated web server to do this.  Can someone point me in the direction of a solution?

    Hello

    Try power cycling the devices:

Unplug the printer and the router from the power for 30 seconds, plug the router on and leave 2 minutes to initialize, then turn on the printer, allow a minute and check for the difference.

If it persists, try to unplug the ethernet cable and plug it back it both the printer and the router, so try to plug it into another port of the router.

If it persists, try another ethernet cable and check any change.

  • Cannot change my IP address

I tried to change my IPv4 by turn off my modem settings network and cmd prompt does not. Is there something I can do? Also, I noticed that when I use ipconfig / renew, I get the message ' year error occurred while releasing Interface Loopback Pseudo 1 interface.» The system cannot find the specified file. "I'm on the internet, but I wonder about this error message and if it has something to do with my inability to change my IP address.

My ISP people seem lost on the issue.
I'm changing my IP address as a chat IRC room is apparently glitched and reaching the operator/s by e-mail was a problem.

    Thank you.

McAfee, no. I use Avast! and the Windows Firewall. Although my machine came with McAfee which I removed with the help of their removal tool.

Interesting, the lease obtained seems to be the same time as before, but the expiration is now close to 02:00, so it is moved to the top of 5 hours or more.
And once again, means the error message that occurs after the command ipconfig / renew-"an error has occurred all releasing interface Loopback Pseudo Interface 1. The system cannot find the specified file. "- matter?
    Thank you.

Last question: no as long as your interface PHYSICS REAL releases and renewed.

When the lease expires, it repeats.  So why I said that, so that you can get an IP address, you would have to turn off your machine through several cycles and hope that someone else either did the same thing and light them before you do and get your old IP address or someone adds a new device after expiration of your lease and clears the memory cache (for the DHCP server) and happen them to get your old IP address When your device is turned off.

Most of the people will keep the same IP address from their ISP for years.

  • HP laserjet professional P1606: how to change static ip address for HP laserjet professional P1606 dn

    Dear Sir.

I have the professional printer hp (hp laserjet P1606) model, I have connected the printer to my router by ethernet port. Thus, he got a dynamic IP, that we know changes this dynamic IP most of the time and create problems. If I click on the ip address of the hp printer on the list of clients of wifi router. There is possibility to provide the static ip address for printer I did and gave a static ip address. a few days later the router has been restored and then I face the problem is I couldn't Ministry the ip address of the printer.   How can I access the ip address of the printer... because until the printer is not an IP and I click on the ip address and a printer page does not open I couldn't change the ip address or the type of static or dynamic ip... .the photos I have uplaoded...

    Hi @Tahir-Mehmood,.

I would say to restore the printer back to factory settings. HP LaserJet Pro P1566 and P1606dn - default settings factory restore printers.

Then, the router must assign a new IP address to the printer and you should then be able to again access the server built-in Web printer.

If the router assigns the printer IP address automatically, temporarily connect the printer to the computer using the Ethernet cable and ad hoc of the printer. This will give you an IP address so you can access the printer built-in Web server, and then you can configure the IP address again through your network.

I hope this helps. Thank you.
