Change of hard disk: System update will work?

I consider changing my 7200 RPM HD with a new Intel Solid - State Drive 520 series 180 GB. How this will affect the use of the system to update? He will be able to detect and work with my new hardware, or it will stop working?

Currently I left 725 days my Lenovo warranty. Change of hard disk would probably void the warranty.

PC: ThinkPad X 1 (1294-2PG)
5-2520M (2.50GHz), 4 GB RAM, 320 GB HD 7200 RPM, LCD 13.3 in 1366 x 768, Intel 802.11agn wireless, WWAN, Bluetooth, Intel HD graphics card, 1 Gb Ethernet, Ultranav, Secure Chip

Hello.

(1) you should have no problem with the update of the system after the upgrade of your player.

(2) change the Player won't empty your warranty as long as you don't cause damage by improper installation.

the player is called a "self-service CRU" (CRUS by). If you look at the hardware maintenance manual pg98 (http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?DocID=UM006394), you will see that the disk is not #5 in the exploded view. a page to the bottom, you will see a single * in the RAW Id column for the items in the list #5. Scroll to pg97 and you will see the definition of a "CRU" self-service ".

HTH a little.

    Concerning

You can do it. No problem at all. Hard drives are not specific model of laptop parts and with hard drives is important compatibility.
On the new laptop, which you can use different hard drives. Important is that use you compatible HARD drive.

Just do it. After Exchange of HARD drive install Os again and everything will be OK.

  • Restores possible OneKey Rescue button on change of hard disk physical?

I am a very new user of lenovo and recently bought an Ideapad Y460.

The default hard drive is 500 GB with a speed of 5400 RPM.

I wanted to change my hard drive to an SSD hard to increase performance.

Before doing so, I created a set of recovery plant (3 DVDs) discs using the pre-installed OneKey Rescue System.

I am aware that for the button OneKey Rescue work, the system must have a separate with the original disk image partition.

My question is that if I install a new hard drive, the recovery of the DVD discs recover the original function of my laptop, returns to its new factory-installed state?

The OneKey recovery will work properly?

The recovery disks sutomatically will make the hidden partition, the C and the disks on my new SSD?

  • The constant hard disk - system and DiagnosticAgent.exe wrote to 300 different activity. Files of the PNF at a constant rate - starting programs negatively impaired.

Something similar to this began after a time, I was installing updates (somewhere in June or July). A month later, after I installed SP2 via the update, the problem presented differently (just as bad). Here's what I found recently of the reliability monitor and performance:

    -DiagnosticAgent.exe > C:/windows/inf/infcache.0 = wr 1.5 MB/min x 2 (constant) (sometimes up to 6 x)

-System > loads of instances (~ 500) on. The files of the PNF in C:\Windows\inf\ =
    mainly writing<100kB in="" but="" some="" write="" up="" to="">
-Diagnosticagent.exe > loads of instances (~ 500) on. The files of the PNF in C:\Windows\inf\ =
    mainly writing<100kB in="" but="" some="" write="" up="" to="">

(total of instances of 1000 files .pnf; 300 different ones, several up to 12 instances of the same .pnf, half of them at least 4 instances of the same .pnf.)

I don't see many cases playback from the hard drive. Even at 100% highest active time, the graph of the disc in the performance bed also monitor, an average of only 2 Mbps. When Disk Defragmenter is running, it is an average of 50 MB/s.

This constant HDD activity about 1000 cases write in 30 minutes continuous .pnf files after startup and after awakening from sleep. While that happens, most of the programs, after loading, do not react for 5 minutes, then run as usual. Even the message control user account often fails to appear before it expires (in 2 minutes) during this time.

I tried Googling on hdd constant activity on the PNF files, but did not find much.

I will try using the restoration of the system again, although I had a few unsuccessful attempts with her.

I have Norton Antivirus installed, which scans for viruses periodically. It is not really the cause of this unknown and unusual hard disk activity I know.

  • Change the hard disk of 1.4 Ghz Mac Mini end of 2014

Good morning Apple community, so here's the problem: I had a voltage breakdown because via the USB port of an EPSON LX - 300 printer, at present when the USB and the Mac Mini contact, ventilation Mac shutoff valve and after a few tries to do turn it finally do. But I see that a gray folder appears with an exclamation mark, then, with my other mac I download OS X El Capitan and do a Booteable USB, after that I enter the utilities disk and found that the "Macintosh HD" was not there and 2 USB 3.0 also didn't work. I picked up at a technical Service allow in my city and have told me that the HARD drive is broken and must be replaced, they say it could be replace by an of a 7200 rpm or 5400 RPM HARD drive RPM HARD drive, also says that couldn't put an SSD. I start research and found it is possible to put an SSD without problem. So my question is that's for sure, so I trust that an SSD will work with flawessly, and that I will also get a big performance improvement.

    My Mac is:

Mac Mini end of 2014 1.4 Ghz 4 GB of RAM, Intel HD 5000 and a 500 GB drive HARD 5400 RPM death.

So, my best regards to the community and hope for a response.

I've been running my 2014 MM off an external SSD with USB 3.0 since the beginning of this year, after a bunch of trial and error; That's what I have:

Unfortunately, I don't have much advice to give you else make sure you have a proper forum for IT. From my experience, the bad speaker will make the difference in whether or not the Mac recognizes the SSD on initialize toward the top.

    Good luck!

  • I change my hard disk 500 GB, he had a particion front and right is now read 300gh, how do I retrieve the disc?

I tried to format it, but the phone told me I don't have enough authority.

    Hello

    ·         What is the brand and model of hard drive?

    ·         Internal or external HDD that you use?

    Method 1:

You can try to fix this by checking a disk or disks to find errors.

I suggest to follow the steps outlined in the article below and check if it helps to solve the problem:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

    Method 2:

I recommend you change the drive letter for the drive and check if it solves the problem.

    a. Click Start on the taskbar, and then right click on my computer on the desktop or in the start menu then click on manage.

    b. under computer management, click Disk Management.

    c. in the list of drives in the right pane, right click on the removable device and then click on change drive letter and paths.

    d. click on edit and in the drop-down list box, specify a drive letter for the removable device, choosing one that is not assigned to the mapped network drives.

    e. click OK, and then click OK again. To assign a drive letter if it has not already received, click Add, click the letter you want to use, and then click OK.

    Method 3:

You can also check out the article below and check if it helps:

    Formatting disks and drives

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/formatting-disks-and-drives

Note: Formatting erases all existing files on a hard drive. If you format a hard drive with files it contains, the files will be deleted. Make sure that you back up all your important data.

  • A drive enclosure hard card SBT-EKU25 will work with a Toshiba Satellite L355D?

As the title indicates, I would like to know if a Sabrent SBT-EKU25 ultra slim USB 2.0 hard drive 2.5 inch pregnant will it work with my Toshiba Satellite L355D model. I've never used a hard drive enclosure before and I just want to be sure that it will work with my computer before buying it.

The housing of the hard drive, it also says IDE/PATA, but I know not really knowing what that means. I would be very happy if someone would inform me on that as well.

    Thank you for your time.

    MissSakura.

    Hello!

I don't know, but as I know that this model comes with a SATA (Serial ATA) hard disk drive & enclosure is PATA (Parallel ATA), so it won't work. but you can try and take your laptop to a computer guy and ask him to be sure if the hard drive can be adapted to your external case. Also, if it is a SATA hard drive you can always go for an external SATA enclosure.

    Hello

You cannot use the 3.5 HARD drive

Important are the specifications mentioned above; 2.5 and SATA interface.

    With regard to the guarantee.

Course, the R series is similar, my R3 has twelve screws at the back. Once removed, the back is pried off. Doesn't have a lot of strength. Connectors must back spilled up to remove. The cables are delicate so always be sweet.

PS there is a microphone (interlock) under one of the screws two Center. Machine does not except so depressed, so make sure that screws are tight.

  • RND4000 - change the hard disks, will that erases data on older players

I took out the old records and set it asside.

Then put in some different readers. Different drives are from a NAS RNDX4000 and they initialize automatically.

    I wasn't expecting that.

Now, if I take on different disks and put the old disks in will I lose all the data?

I need to still get the data on the old disks. They worked very well.

I don't want them to be initalized.

The reason is that the RNDX4000 was struck by lightning. Really wanted to get information out of thoes readers. Now, I don't want to lose the information I had in RND4000 work.

OS 4.x ReadyNAS all begin with the formatting of disks when they are hot-inserted and in many cases even when they are not hot-inserted.

But if you turn off, insert the old disks in their original locations, and then powered on, then the system should simply repeat the operation without loss of data or reformatting.
