Change of the pipette in the curves adjustment layer

In versions previous of the PS when you opened a curves adjustment layer, hovered over the image, the cursor was a dropper, and when you pressed the mouse button a point appears on the curve showing the wherever the task on the image fell on the curve.  I used a lot.

In CS4 that the pipette has been replaced by the line of sight (plus sign?), and when you click on a location in the image, nothing happens.   How to bring back the former function?

Always available, but with different commands.  Here is a link that describes in detail.

  • No dialog on the curves adjustment layer?

Just started using CS4 and when I create a curves adjustment layer, no dialog box appears before the creation of the layer. What is going on?

You click on it. Then, choose something like curves. In the settings of the curves Panel will show. Make the settings there. There is also a small arrow upwards downwards to the right of the Panel. Click on that for many more options

  • Pipette in the curve adjustment dialog box average pixels, so the color balance is watered.

    Hi all.

When you use the pipette to set the points black and white pixels of an image in the dialog box curve setting, I found that it seems not middle of the neighbouring pixels or provide a way to select a value "monochrome".  Thus, the color balance is still impaired and is thrown way if you happen to choose a noisy pixel (for example).

I expect that there is an option to set the size of the sampling for the pipette area, but I don't see one.  I have considered making the monochrome image, defining curves, save them as a preset, and then reload the image color and apply the preset (if she does not leave me); but this seems heavy and hokey.  What is the usual procedure to adjust the tone curve of the image without changing its color balance?

    Thanks for any idea.

When you select an eyedropper in the curves adjustment dialog box, you went to the eyedropper tool.

You then set the sample in the Options bar.

In the curves adjustment layer, any pipette also has sample settings in the Options bar.

  • Why the curves adjustment, often in front of which layer is the standard?

When I do a PS CC2015 curves adjustment layer often the graph is opposite, so to make an image, I have to make the curve rises and light, have to go down.  Why it does this?

It's driving me crazy and looks odd and makes me think that I work badly.

In the curves adjustment layer properties click on the upper right. In the drop-down menu, choose Display Options of the curves where light vs Pigmentf/ink radio buttons control the meaning of the scales of the layer of setting the tone.

  • Hi I need to know how to expand the curves adjustment Panel. For example, the curves that I need to enlarge the graphic part, so I could show on a screen at the school. Thanks, Phil

Hi I need to know how to expand the curves adjustment Panel. For example, I need to enlarge the graphic part so that I can view on a screen at the school and work from this Panel to expand. Thanks, Phil

You can not. At least, not directly Ben Photoshop. For example, this can be done in Gimp and Photoline, and I had hoped that developers of Photoshop team would have done this allowance now. But no, we're still stuck with a tiny curved panel, which is a real shame, because in other applications, the user can be more precise with the curves.

If you don't need to show close-ups during class time, use Zoomit in Windows, or turn on the Magnifier in the accessibility on a Mac option.

What version of photoshop are you using?

In recent versions, you can go to window > adjustments and click on the Clip to layer and this should be the default value after that.

  • Actions - curve adjustment layer applied without correction

    Photoshop CC 2015

    MAC OSX Mavericks 10.10.3

Save the action using the adjustment layer curves (reduce red), when I play back the action adjustment layer curves appears without the Red correction.

Never seen this behaviour before. Research conducted on the internet users have reported similar problems over the years - I can't find a solution, unless it's emptying cache or Pref?

In photoshop cc 2014, close libraries and then see if your actions record settings.

  • Change the levels adjustment layer?

I use PS CS6 x 64 for Win7. I'm trying to find a way to change the values on a 'levels' adjustment layer using javascript. I can't find any info anywhere. Curiously, the listener script does not seek to change the adjustment layer.

Does anyone have some luck with this?

Another way might be this function that allows you to specify inputBlack, gamma, outputWhite, inputWhite, outputBlack

  • CS4 Crash in the BW adjustment layer

I use the black and white adjustment layer in CS4. After the conversion to black and white, I select the "cursor" tool/eye drops to be used directly on the image (sorry, I don't know the official name). As soon as I do that, the PS crashes. I can manually adjust the sliders; Sometimes it affects the image, sometimes not.

Any ideas? Preferences of the trash?

    Thank you

    Debbie

    P.S., Macbook Pro, 10.8, suite CS4 Design.

    Hi Debbies,

I suggest you to reset the Photoshop preferences as you mentioned that to adjust manually the sliders sometimes will not work.

    Using Photoshop | Preferences

Please let us know if it helps.

  • Changes in the size of layer duplication

I have an image resized to 1 "x 1". I create a new document, 8.5 "x 11" and duplicate the image of 1 "x" 1 to the new document. Why when I do that the image changes to something other than 1 "x 1"?

Is that 1 x 1 "photo cropped with the crop tool? Do you have the specified resolution px / in when cropping picture? If you use Image > Image size then check the resolution of the image that you duplicate. In order to get the image 1x1in 8.5 x11in (I guess it's 300px / in) documenting your 1x1in must be set to 300px / image.

  • Cannot find record option in the Panel adjustment layer (CC 2014)

I can not find if anyone can help?

    Screen Shot 2014-07-27 at 9.10.22 PM.png

According to this thread, presets has never been an option in the color balance. You may need to save it in a script or action.

  • Small white dots on the adjustment layer.

Starting from 23/11/2015, I had a problem using the curves adjustment layer.  When I invert the layer and then use a brush to paint where I want the layer to show, it gives me little white dots everywhere.  Does anyone else have this problem.

I had a problem like this in the past, but it was encircling as a selection.  Now these are the points.

Sorry, I forgot the screenshot indicates that you are working in 16-bit.

In any case, the Brush tool is on the blending Mode "dissolve".

  • How to open the Options dialog box to display the curves on the properties panel

I can find the dialog box options display of curves when I opened the curves by the image > adjustments > curves but correction I do it is not about when to use the curves in the properties panel.  I prefer using the properties panel, but try as I might I can't find a way to access the curves Display Options there.  I need to go back to the 'light' button so that my shadow is in the lower left corner and highlights are in the upper right corner, and not vice versa, as they are now.

You will find the Display Options of curves for the curves adjustment layer on the shortcut menu in the properties panel

  • Change the type of adjustment layer?

    Hello

If I create an adjustment layer (for example: curves) is it possible to change the type of release later?

For example: create an adjustment layer curves & then change the type of adjustment to levels instead.

You can't exchange adjustment on the created adjustment layer type.
