Change the default profile for networks not identified in the register.

Hi, I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently, I tried to share files on a network computer to computer without router. I ran into problems with this, however, because Windows will just recognized here a network not identified, set its profile to the public and turn off sharing. I am aware that the default profile is editable through the local security policy editor, but being on the House, I am unable to access it, so my question is this:

Is there a way to change settings of network profile for networks unidentified somehow outside the local security policy editor? (via the registry)?

Hi Konaa,

1. Click Start, type Regedit

2. find hklm:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

3. find your network card adapter and create a dword value named "* NdisDeviceType" and change the value between 0 and 1 and enable/disable network cards.

You can also try this:

1. the Registry Editor open, if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

3. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

4. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle click 5.right, and then click on edit.

6. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

7. close the registry editor.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

Win7 always tries to connect by using the default profile for the Native WIFI
I defined a new WIFI profile for my home WIFI network. I use a USB of NETGEAR WNA1100 adapter. The profile is configured to connect automatically. I also moved over the default profile for the Native WIFI. Win7 always tries to connect to the default Native WIFI profile and not the profile that I created. Also, when I restart Win7, the default profile for the native WIFI moves to the top of the Profiles list. Also, when I try to change the default Native WIFI profile to use security WPA2 - PSK (AES) instead of WEP, it allows me to make changes, but he comes back to WEP after it treats changes and attempts to connect to the network. How can I fix so that Win7 will use my profile to connect to my home WIFI network and not the Native WIFI as the default profile. Win7 still connect using the default profile of NativeWIFI despite installing a different profile in Control Panel 'Wireless Networks '. I know that I can edit this profile by default, but anyone know how tell Win7 to use a different profile than the default? I tried to change the positions of the profile so that I want to use is facing up, but no, still uses the default. If I try to remove it, it comes back.
After removing the two profiles and adding the profile for my home network, Win7 automatically added the default profile for the return NativeWIFI. My profile is configured to automatically connect to the network using WPA2 - PSK (AES) security and the default profile for the NativeWIFI (use WEP security) is the Win7 Setup to manually connect. Also, Win7 puts the default profile for the NativeWIFI above my profile. Also, when I delete the profile by default the NativeWIFI, Win7 it always puts back and he goes over my profile. This is starting to resemble the Win7 manage wireless mechanism for allowing users to add and prioritize the profiles of school boards does not work. Here's another thing that happens: when I try to change the security for the profile default of NativeWIFI to WPA2 - PSK (AES) of WEP, Win7 allows me to make changes, but it is up to the WEP after it processes the changes and tries to connect to the network. This seems too much for me, it's a problem with Win7. If I could do this job, so I need not to set up a second profile.
The adapter I use a NETGEAR WNA1100 works correctly and I use it without any problem. I have is with Win7 and the interface to 'manage wireless networks '. It will not honor the fact that the WIFI profile that I created for my home network must be connected to automatically I installed. He always wants to connect to the default profile NativeWIFI even if I set up my home network profile to connect automatically. I can do a manual connection for my home network without problem. It seems to me that it is a question of Win7.
    Kind regards

All systems can access the internet but a system of communication does not work unless I have change 'public' to enable all the. Please tell us how to fix the status of 'unidentified network '.

Using a manually assigned IP address can cause this to happen.  A workaround possible (if your Windows 7 host is running professional or Ultimate) must change the mode of unknown network 'The work' instead of 'Public '.  To do this:

    1. Press [Windows] + [R], type "secpol.msc" and press [Enter].
    2. Go to the list of political network manager.
    3. In the right pane, double-click unidentified networks.
    4. Set the type of place private (this corresponds to the 'work').
    5. Set user permissions to that user can change the location.

Please note that this will make Windows by default to enable file sharing on networks not identified so that you probably don't want to do it on a laptop computer that can connect to the different networks.  However, this should be good for a desktop computer which is going nowhere and is wired to a single network.  Windows should continue to ask (and remember) type of network for wireless networks.

  • Question of Save as default profile for this monitor

    Hello

    My English is bad.

I have Windows 7-64, PC, intel AMD i5, 12 G of Ram, graphics card gpu Nvidia quadro K600, X-Rite DisplayPro, i1Profilor software calibration device vs. 1.5.4.

Color management Panel, tab device, verified my settings for this device box, use Windows display calibration boxing verified and gry as she is meant to be etc.

Work in my user acount everthing was fine until suddenly, when I need to use a new profile for my monitor in my session and want to set as default for this device profile by clicking on the button, I get the message "incorrect parameter". With the button Add, I add a profile already installed by windows, for example sRGB together IEC61996 - 2.1 and tryto it by default with the button "use as default profile for this device", the same message. The only way to assign a default is to delete the real profile designated as default color management system to the next on the list "by default".

If I change to a different user on the same PC account, everything works fine for this user, but not on mine. When I click on the button "set default profile" is OK.

I'm trying to uninstall i1profiler and X-Rite and reinstall, twice, nothing has changed.

I tried to chat with a technician for microsoft, and he only referred me to the help on profiling and Calibration page help in microsoft. I know this page by heart and there is no response he solve my problem. He didn't know what to do!

    Any help?

    Hello curves,

Please keep us informed about the issue.

I understand that the account on which you are facing problem is account owner who has administrator privileges. So I suggest to create a new administrator user account and check the status.

This is a diagnostic stage, if everything works well in the new user profile it means there is a corruption in the profile owner.

You can also visit the below mentioned link and check if it helps.

    Change color management settings

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/change-color-management-settings

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.

    Thank you.

It is a Windows 7 forum, not a Windows XP forum. But since the same
answer works for both versions of Windows, it's here:

If I bought a used computer, no matter who previously owned, the first thing I have with it would be to reinstall the operating system itself. You don't know how the computer has been maintained,

  • How to create a default profile for all users of a computer under Windows 7/Vista for Firefox versions greater than 8? I would that all new users on a computer to get the same values by default, homepage, bookmarks, etc...

I found some help on older versions of Firefox, but I can't seem to find anything for the latest versions greater than 8. There must be a way to do this for imaging large scale.

Have you created a defaults\profile in the folder of the program Firefox (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\)?

All files in this folder will be moved into each newly created profile folder.

To give the prefs a default, it is best to do this via a mozilla.cfg file.

Use a mozilla.cfg file in the Firefox program folder to lock the prefs or specify default values.

Place a local file - settings.js in the defaults\pref folder where you will also find the channel - prefs.js to specify using mozilla.cfg file.

    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");
    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0); // use this to disable the byte-shift

    See:

You can use these functions in mozilla.cfg:

defaultPref(); // set new default value
pref(); // set pref, but allow changes in current session
lockPref(); // lock pref, disallow changes

  • Taskbar Windows 8 says network not identified but computer identifies TI-no internet connection

My taskbar to the laptop says "Unidentified network, no internet access", but when I click it, it opens the list of network connections and shows that I am connected to my network wireless home (he identified) and there is no notice of limited access. This seems very contradictory. I had no problems until last night when my roommate connected his Mac via the wireless to access Netflix and press the factory reset button on the wireless router. She got in line without problem, but now I can't. I'm done with my iPhone to connect with the wireless and my laptop off the phone running hotspot. I would like to move directly from the wireless, without going through my iPhone.  I can't access Internet and instead of my computer on my network to laptop, I renamed as a media player and not only as my old computer in my office (it is his link showing?). When I try to go online the page shows not connected to the internet, and I click on troubleshooting. It says restart the router/modem but I did that five times and nothing changes. I restart my laptop too. It's been hours now and I "restored" my laptop to an earlier point. She can get online and the wireless router, the lights are all green as well as do? Am very illiterate when it comes to this computer stuff and most of the answers I've seen online that I have no idea what they are talking about - IE. Change of IP address, system configuration, etc., so be very, very aware and make your answers as if you're talking to a fool. Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft community. I appreciate your efforts to resolve the issue. I will certainly help you with the problem you are experiencing.

I would like to ask you:

    • How did the other laptop connected to the router? Is it cable connection or wireless?

If the other laptop is connected with a cable, so that the issue could be with the settings of the router. Therefore, you should contact the Internet service provider in this case that the router has been reset. If the wireless connection on all devices and you are not able to go online using your laptop Windows 8, follow these steps:

    1. Open the start screen, type CMD.
    2. Right click on command prompt, and then click Run as administrator.
    3. Type the following commands and press ENTER after each command.

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh winsock reset catalog

    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

    ipconfig/flushdns

If the problem persists, visit the computer manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers for network / wireless and install.

Hope this information was useful. Let us know the results once you have tried.

We recently got cable internet time warner and I had trouble setting up so I spent an hour or so talking to their tech support. We got it running, but for some reason, my computer of all things can't go on the internet. It says it's connected, but I can't go on the internet. It says local only and that it was an unidentified network. I tried internet options and went on lan settings and selected automatically detect settings. And ipv4.

    Hi JosetteMaccario,

    Step 1:

You can check the following link and try to run the network diagnostic tool and check.

    Network connection problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/troubleshoot-network-connection-problems

    Step 2:

You can also check out the following link and try the steps.

In the Windows wireless network connection problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Step 3:

You can also try temporarily disabling the third-party antivirus software and firewall installed on your computer and check if the problem persists. If the problem is resolved, you will need to uninstall the software and reinstall it back or change the settings and check.

Note: Be sure to enable the security software on the computer after checking.

    Hope this information is useful.

You cannot change the default location for installing Flash Player.  Flash Player installs in a specific directory and browsers know what directory to locate the Flash Player in.
