Change the DNS settings in the Pool of IP network

Hello

Due to a migration of our DNS servers, I have to change the IP addresses of the DNS servers defined in the (currently used) our BDE server IP pools. There is a Hadoop cluster with a large amount of data running using this pool and I do not have to deploy the cluster again. Restart of the cluster is not matter, so I planned the settings DNS for the cluster nodes have to change after reboot. Unlikely, I could not change the DNS settings. Is there a way (perhaps non-elegant) change those settings for the pool?

See you soon,.

Dustin

Hi Dustin,

BDE provides the interface to change the DNS server in the network added to the BDE.  You must change the BDE database to do.  Here is the solution:

1 Server BDE connect you as user serengeti

2. run this command: echo ' network dns1 set update = 'the_new_dns_server_ip' where name = 'the_network_name '; \q" | psql

3. apply the new DNS server. There are two approach. You can choose one.

(a) connection BDE CLI and run "cluster stop - name...". ' and 'start cluster - name... '. "to restart the virtual machines in the cluster, then the new DNS server will be applied.

(b) on BDE server, run "serengeti - ssh.sh cluster_name " sudo sed-i of | nameserver. * | nameserver the_new_dns_server_ip| ' g' / etc/etc/resolv.CONF. The new DNS server should take effect immediately.

Thank you for using BDE.

  • Change the default profile for networks not identified in the register.

Hi, I recently installed a copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. Recently, I tried to share files on a network computer to computer without router. I ran into problems with this, however, because Windows will just recognized here a network not identified, set its profile to the public and turn off sharing. I am aware that the default profile is editable through the local security policy editor, but being on the House, I am unable to access it, so my question is this:

Is there a way to change settings of network profile for networks unidentified somehow outside the local security policy editor? (via the registry)?

    Hi Konaa,

    1. Click Start, type Regedit

    2. find hklm:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    3. find your network card adapter and create a dword value named "* NdisDeviceType" and change the value between 0 and 1 and enable/disable network cards.

    You can also try this:

    1. the Registry Editor open, if you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\Interfaces\ {GUID}

This registry path, click the (GUID) subkey that corresponds to the card network that is connected to the network.

    3. on the Edit menu, point to new, and then click DWORD (32-bit) value.

    4. in the new area #1, type DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle and press ENTER.

DhcpConnEnableBcastFlagToggle click 5.right, and then click on edit.

    6. in the value data box, type 1 and then click OK.

    7. close the registry editor.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

  • Change the authentication of card network from WEP to WPA 2

I have the WNDR3400v2 of Netgear router. I have a laptop with win 7 and another on Windows 8. I have Time Warner cable internet service.
Currently I use a security key WEP with it as advised by netgear support in the early stages of the installation after the purchase of the unit. I realize that the key WPA2 is stronger than the WEP key. I should have told this by the customer and must have helped with WAP2 key features. But now I'm with WEP security key.
I intend to change the current WEP WPA 2 security key.  After going to the settings of the router on www.routerlogin.net, I changed the security to WPA2 key
After removing the netoworks previous, I added network manually in Control Panel of Windows 7 (add notwork wireless) and I tried to follow the instructions, I can see the network in the list of available networks but cannot connect to it. Radio message Intel says failed to connect with the DHCP server. Wired internet connection works fine, but no wireless connection. I'd appreciate any help on this matter.

I was able to reset the router if you plant. After that, the parameters have been a piece of cake. Thank you very much for the help in this regard. I don't know why he did not cooperate before you restore it. In any case I appreciate it. Thank you.

  • View of the pool for laboratory network

We have a view environment in our production area however we have a distinct field of laboratory that consist of a stand-alone domain controller. We would like to be able to provide a VDI pool in our production environment for use in our lab environment. Of course, we do not want to allow full access and communication between the two areas. We do not want to create a separate environment together VDI in our laboratory. No one knows the better and safer to achieve this way? Our current environment consist of a server security, composer, appvolumes server and a connection to the server and replicates.

This seems possible. I haven't ' done myself, but you could set up a one-way trust between the domains of the AD and add the domain to the admin view. This feature of one-way trust was announced in view 6.2, so if you're not up to this version again, a two-way trust is required.

  • Change the DNS server automatically when switching to WiFi network?

    ·         What operating system do you use?

    ·         Your computer is on a domain network?

Try these steps and see if it helps.

Step 1: Run the network troubleshooter utility.

Step 3: Uninstall and reinstall network/modem driver from Device Manager.

    (a) click Start, type Manager of devices in the search box and press ENTER.

    (b) Device Manager window opens, expand the network card.

    (c) right click and uninstall, reboot the system.

    Step 4:

Follow the steps in troubleshooting from the link and check if that helps.

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems

    Step 5:

    Temporarily disable the security software.

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • How to change the Port pool

If we want to change the port pool after cloning of layers of DB and Apps, what is the best way to do... A single method, I know, i.e run the preclone on the target system and run config clone again once on the same target on both system layer of database and Application layer and change the pool of port...

    is there another method?

How to change the host name of a component of Applications using AutoConfig Doc ID: 341322.1

    (a) to register the application of topology of net service model node
    (b) updated the context file Autoconfig
    (c) shutdown apps services
    (d) to run the automatic configuration service
    (e) change the name of the host at the OS level
    (f) restart the machine.
    (g) to start the application sercies

In step 2, the context of the updated file, we will create the new context with the new hostname file... Here I have doubt, how come new context file will be created with the new host name, since it has not changed hostname at the level of the bone at this stage or before this step? AutoConfig will be CNET, because the Hostname of the Machine is different, because we change the hostname in the last step before

Please clarify my doubt, if my understanding is wrong?

In step 2, you run "perl adclonectx.pl" command. This script is used to clone your context file (i.e. generate a new), and it will ask you to enter the new host name. Once completed, you will have two files of context in the directory $APPL_TOP/admin:

    (1) _ .xml
    (2) _ .xml

When you run the AutoConfig (step 4), you must provide the context new file generated (i.e. _.xml), and the model topology net services (which is clean, because we have already served there) will be filled with the new host name.

why we cannot do the procedure below...

    (a) to enter the net service topology model applications pane
    (b) change the hostname at the os level
    (c) restart the machine.
    (d) update the context file with the new host name or create the new context file
    e run the automatic configuration
    (f) to start the services

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

I have not tried your procedure before, but I think it would work also.

I hope it is clear now.

  • Change the setting from master VMware agent on an image

    Hi gurus

Its me again and again go easy on me, learning

I need to recompose a virtual machine image master machine.

change the agent install vmware view removing the option for ThinPrint, (where I start, how do I change the settings, where can I find)

Prepare the master to deploy updates to the clones and

    Recompose the pool.

con someone help me with how to accomplish this procedure.

    Thanks a bunch

Well, you can stop the service of ThinPrint in the Master image, power down, take a snapshot and then you can change the pool, select recompose, select parent image, select the newly created snapshot and you're all set.

Here is the link to deactivate the Service of ThinPrint - VMware KB: ThinPrint deactivation on a VMware View Client

  • How can I change the name of my wireless network?

I use OS X 10.11.4 and utility Airport 6.3.6. I would change the name of my network and I don't know how or where to do this. And once this is done, have what I would do with my extreme and Express to continue them to work?   Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

    Cheers, Peter

I use OS X 10.11.4 and utility Airport 6.3.6. I would change the name of my network and I don't know how or where to do this.

You can change the name of the network using AirPort Utility as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the AirPort base station and then, select change.
    • Select the wireless tab.
    • The network name can be changed in the field "name of the wireless network. Enter the desired name, and select update.
  • New router - how to change the configuration?

I installed a new router but don't have my installation CD for my printer Photosmart 4385.  How can I change the configuration of my network without the CD?   I downloaded the drivers and software site HPO installation, but when I ran the installer, it never asked anything on the network.

When you start the software, make sure that the printer is not connected to your computer via USB.  Then it should ask if you want to create a USB installation or network.

If this isn't the case, you downloaded the software "full"?  Do this.

  • VLAN again added, problems detected on guests during the detection of new network configuration

    Hi all

I started facing a strange problem trying to use a new VLAN configured in my vCenter environment...

Basically, my system 'fight' to identify the new network label (VLAN) configured, leaving systems disconnected from the local network.

This condition disappears only when I change the VM touched, assign a label of different network (VLAN), apply the changes and restart the process by configuring the new VLAN return.

We will use an example to explain better:

    • I have a named Windows Server/Workstation VM: VM1
    • I have 2 VLANS configured in vCenter: VLAN50 and VLAN70

VM1 is sitting on the VLAN50 and has the static IP address configured.

I start the migration of the machine to a VLAN different, by editing the network settings of the operating system (IP, MASK, GW, DNS entries...) and replace the label of VM1 VLAN70 network.

At this point, the machine NIC shows as if it could not connect to what in the network, although it is configured accordingly in order to communicate in the new subnet.

I have change the VM again and change the label of a network VLAN different from VLAN70, click OK. Immediately, I change VM settings to assign in return the VLAN70.

After that, the operating system recognizes the network successfully and starts working as expected...

All of my virtual machines use VMXNET3 adapter and my version of vCenter is v5.5 build #2646482

    No idea what might happen?

    Concerning

    We found the problem...

It was not associated with VMware, but a network configuration problem: (ESXi connected to two switches, one of them with the VLAN configured correctly and the other does not...).

    Thanks for the help

  • Why won't my router save the changes to 192.168.0.1 DNS settings? (DGN2200v4)

I just bought a DGN2200v4 and successfully connected to the internet. However, it took me ages to figure out how to save the changes made to DNS settings. (I wanted to use "OpenDNS" on 208.67.222.222)

It turns out that if I connect to the router through 192.168.0.1, I can not change the DNS settings. When I click "Apply" after entering the new numbering, it takes 30 seconds or more for the progress bar for complete, but no change is made. i.e. it does not save the changes I made.

If instead I connect to the router via www.routerlogin.net, changes are correctly saved after clicking 'Apply', with the progress bar by taking 30 seconds or more.

I tried several times with consistent results. Why 192.168.0.1 not working then as www.routerlogin.net don't? I thought they were equivalent - the webpage 'Netgear genius' is identical on both...

    JCA says:

Also, do you recommend make a factory hard reset after the firmware update, or there at - there no need?

    Sorry for the late reply.

Personally, I tend to reset factory and re - enter the settings manually, unless I've saved a backup of this same version of the firmware. However, I use Netgear as Access Points routers and so I have little data to re-enter. To some people will say that a factory reset is useless and very often they would be correct, but the effects of factory reset no when it may be necessary are often difficult to predict. I was moderator on these forums for a dozen years, and have seen hundreds of threads where the solution to the problems after an update of the firmware has been at the factory to reset the router.
