Change the drive letter of the Partition Recovery
After previous bad experiences in trying to separate the data files program, I took the habit on my previous computer under Windows to create another partition on my hard drive to store the data files. Out of habit I still do on my desktop PC with Windows XP (great program) rather than use the My Documents folder.
I want to do the same thing on my new DV6-3142, I use to work and create a separate partition for my data files. I understand how to create a new partition on the HDD and reassign the drive letters for the existing partitions, but I want to use the letter D for her. However, it is the letter of the drive that is used for the recovery partition.
Can I change the drive letter of the recovery partition to, say R without affecting the operation of the recovery process, or should I leave as D for the recovery of the system to work properly that I should never need her?
Hello:
You leave the name of the recovery partition and drive letter unchanged and your C drive: of the same name.
If you change these, when you press the F11 key to start the recovery process, the program know what to do.
I am a firm believer of it also have a set of factory recovery disks. For me, it is worth less than the investment of $20. If your HARD drive fails after the warranty period, (or if you want to upgrade your HARD drive), your recovery partition doesn't help anyway.

Is it possible to change a drive letter of the system?
Hello
I have XP Pro SP3.
I am interested if it is possible to change a drive letter of the system. My windows was originally installed on c:, but then I found that it is on d:. Maybe it was because I inserted a disc with another Windows in my pc. So, if the computer sees it has letter c: with windows he used d:. I put t know. But 98.5 percent of register use c:. But when I run my computer, then "documents and settings" on d: to run all my accounts on d:. I would like to go back to c: and (change the drive letter c: to something different and then change the d: to c :). I would change a few c: registry values. But how can I do when Windows has probably read files on the wrong drive? If I would disconnect the disk if the Windows will crash. So I want to just change the letters and give it back to its original position.
This problem that I solved with the backup of the machine. A problem occurs when I restore it back. But this facility has been unlucky.

I have a MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, end of 2013), 2 GHz Intel Core i7 with 8 GB of Ram.
I had 2 system installed, Win 10 + Yosemite from the windows of beginning and the use of most of the time.
Yesterday, I ran out of disk space and passed the partition in OS X with disk utility.
While I changed the partition and I also upgraded to the El Cap.
After all, I can't start by winning 10 more, although I could see my windows in the startup disk Control Panel.
I checked some thread here and mess with command autour terminal, but nothing has worked for me.

Change the partition where to downloads and automatic updates
My C partition is the main boot partition and it is full. 29G all exhausted. I copied the files of many program and pasted in the partition with 188 free G D. But it doesn't allow me to delete the original file from C to free up space. How do I do that? It says destination refused. Also, how can I change the partition of C to D that take downloads and automatic updates? I'm tired of this constant problem and I tried everything, including disk management to solve the problem. I'd appreciate a solution! Thank you

Change the password recovery email
I have e-mail accounts that I need to change the email recovery and I don't see in the interface admin V3 how to do this. Is this possible to do? I think there must be a way for the administrator to update this email but I couldn't find it anywhere. Not all e-mail accounts are users in the system so I can't make it through the part 'My information' site. any help would be most appreciated!
Hello
At this point, you will need to reach out for support via chat/case the direct e-mail only account for changes of recovery can be done on your end. The original reasoning for it's for security reasons that you can get more insight in the thread below.

Re: Satelite C850-B516: copy data drive HARD recovery after changing the partitions
Hello
Forum need help once again
I split single partition came with my laptop to have data in a separate partition. I wasn't aware that it will affect. I have not created any backup CD. No, when I run HARD drive recovery media creator I get error "NO HDD Recovery Area.
I can see a healthy partition of 10 GB on my drive and disk partitioning tools are evidence of the data in it.
I copied to the Active primary partition of USB. But when I boot from USB, he leaves everything recover.
It comes
Can I recover my system to factory default using the recovery data copied?
Concerning
AhmedToshiba Satelite C850-B516
# Problem, it is that your recovery image is useless now. When you want to use the external device for installation of recovery image is must be created as device start and it can be done if you use the preinstalled recovery media creator.
Recovery image is saved on the HARD drive and fixed with the so-called markers. Recovery media creator can find these markers and start using the recovery saved on the HARD disk image. After changing structure of HARD disk partitions these markers disappeared and this is the reason why you see this error message.
I'm afraid you must order now new recovery m FRO Toshiba drive and you can do it on - https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx

How to change the partitions on the Satellite P870-026
Hello
does anyone know how to partition the HARD drive on a P870 Satellite with Windows 8 (if the material of the BONE).
I used the options in disk management. The problem is that I can't shrink less than about 450 GB lecteurC. It is a new laptop and features a 1 TB HDD and 50 GB used only at present.I defragmented the HARD drive, but it made no difference.
Thank youI presume you are aware that a "hidden file" is the reason why you can't resize.
This [http://www.partitionwizard.com/free-partition-manager.html] is supposed to do the job. Software free EASEUS ([http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/]) can do. (I think you need to very careful to install the software. I believe that unless you read each screen and check / uncheck boxes carefully it will have changed your homescreen internet, search engine and installed more software).
BUT
Any root you choose, make sure you have prepared Windows etc. recovery disks so that you can restore your pc to a shipped State. Do some searching on Google on things like "install the bigger hard drive" "change the size of the partition during the installation of windows" "create a cd bootable/memory stick ' and the popular"migrates to ssd drive"and you will pick up a lot of advice. I don't know if the Toshiba recovery disks repartition a drive to match the original configuration. -

* to ensure that you are able to restore your computer to the factory installed state, even if your computer is severely damaged.*I don't know what you did exactly, but you have big problem now. Recovery image cannot be used for the installation of the OS more and cannot create recovery DVDs too.

Cannot find the partition recovery on the Satellite A200-1BP
Hello
First of all, I have a Vista Home Premium 1BP A200 and I lost the product recovery disc and I want to create one with "Recdisc.exe" product of Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator or Vista.
They both failed because I didn't get a message "No disk HARD recovery Area!", then I looked in the "Disk management" section and could not find any partition without a name.
There were two primary Partition which were 1.46 GB 'in good condition (EISA Configuration)"and my Vista (c).
So, what should I do? Can I create a recovery partition?
Or can I set the Recovery Disc Creator? (v. 5.0.0.5)PS: I got my computer several times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Seriously, I'm out of ideas and I don't want to lose 50 dollars just to get another copy of disc PR.PS2: I used press '0' and 'F8' thing too, they no longer work.
Is there a way I can restore without any disk?Post edited by: darthbabam12

The first 1.46 GB partition is automatically created by Vista and the C partition is the system partition, the partition of HARD drive recovery doesn't seem to be available> PS: I got my computer several times with my CD, which probably used my recovery partition.
Retrieve you the Vista using the recovery disc or what drive did you use?If you have installed the system using Microsoft Vista disk then, it was a big mistake because it deleted the partition of HARD drive

Either you use a Vista MS disk and missing drivers, which you can download from the Toshiba page or you order the Toshiba Recovery disk don't see another solution -
W520 - using the partition recovery without a bootable operating system installed
I have a W520 with a hard drive that has been completely wiped out the Q/recovery partition.
Is there a workflow for using the recovery partition to rebuild the factory Windows 7 install?
1. Enter ImageX from Microsoft (somewhere).
2. get a USB bootable with Windows 7 installation
3. Prime the USB key and enter repair tools (command prompt)
4. navigate to the recovery partition, file FactoryRecovery.
5 Note the size of the sdrivebackup.wim
6. use DISKPART to create a partition of at least that size. Make sure that it is the first, it is active and defined at startup.
7. use ImageX to apply sdrivebackup.wim to this partition. The command should be: ImageX/apply [recoverypartition]:\FactoryRecovery\sdrivebackup.wim [newpartition]:------]
8 can use DISKPART to create a partition of Windows 7 Fluxsol (probably all the remaining space).
9. again, use ImageX to apply cdrivebackup.swm to the newly created partition of Windows 7.The command should be: ImageX/apply [recoverypartition]:\FactoryRecovery\cdrivebackup.swm [newwindowspartition]:------]
Ideally this should operate. If it doesn't, try a reboot system Windows Installer USB tool to solve any problem of bootloader.

Concerns about the visibility of the partition recovery (Recovery HP, HP Tools)
Dear all,
I have HP Pro book 450 in our workplace. Before giving it to a few new users, I noticed one thing that the recovery of the laptop partitions are visible with the drive letters when you open "My computer" and they are:
-HP Recovery
-HP Tools
Now, in this case two important scores above are damaging in error by the user, I'm looking for every possible way confirmed secure these partitions, as for example to hide them by removing their drive letters will help or make problem when restoring the laptop?
The laptop came with recovery DVD for Windows 7, but I can't find any key code, where is the key code?
Please help.
If there is no COA on the laptop and it is a new model comes with Windows 7, then the key of windows 8 THAT injected DPK and Win7 SLP 2.1 in BIOS to activate...
It is highly recommended that you create usb recovery media by using the HP Recovery Media Creator utility. To reinstall Windows 7 without user created media recovery or recovery partition, you will need to get the HP recovery discs.
This info came from my HP internal information sources.
Install an operating system and activation will occur as soon as the laptop has internet access. In your case, it would be a good plan to the password of the BIOS for the keys do not get authorized inadvertently by a curious user. It is also recommended that you create an account HP Sparekey in BIOS.

Choose the Partition Recovery on Lion comments
Hello
I'm trying to start the boot mode with the Mac OS client Manager X Lion on VMWare Fusion 4.1.3 the usual Mac computers physical is the alt (option) key, but it does not work on VMWare Fusion. How can this be achieved?
Thank you!
Hi Booga,
The best way to start the recovery partition must quickly click inside the virtual computer window immediately after turning the power on, and then hold down command-R. You do command + R button at the point where the Apple logo appears on the screen, you don't have to be fast enough! That same key combination allows to directly launch the recovery on a physical Mac partition as well.
It is also possible to hold the Option key at startup to enter our program to install firmware, although it is far from being as pretty that the start of Apple picker and we have a bug open here that Recovery HD does not appear in the list of devices in any case! So, your best bet is to use the command + R that I described above.
If it's too fast to start, and you can not press in time, you can configure your virtual machine with a delay at the start. Follow the instructions in the Knowledge Base article: changing the file .vmx for your Fusion virtual machine. Add a new option as follows:
bios.bootDelay = "3000".
This will give you 3 seconds (3 000 milliseconds) to click on the VM, and then press command + R.
See you soon,.
