  You can change the/etc/vmware/config of vSphere host file and add the lines mem.hotadd = 'TRUE' and vcpu.hotadd = 'TRUE '.
  The settings then apply to any VM on this host when virtual machines are turned on...

  stop the Server Service vCenter, update your IP address to your SQL Server and test your ODBC connection.  If all the good tests, just restart the vCenter Server Service.

  I'm changing the IP address of the management interface vmkernel with as little downtime as possible and markets.

  The interface is part of a distributed switch and the host is part of a cluster on the vCenter server.

  As for now, here's what I do:

  (1) to migrate all virtual machines on the host and put it into Maintenance Mode.

  (2) remove a vmnic from the vDS and add it to the standard switch (which guarantees access to the management of VLANS).

  (3) move the core of the management of the vDS to the standard switch.

  (4) remove the host to the switch of the vDS.

  (5) remove the host from the inventory.

  (6) change the IP address, then make the changes in the DNS in accordance.

  (7) re add the host to the cluster of vCenter.

  (8) apply a profile of the host with the previous configuration (config vmnic, vmkernels, etc.).

  (9) correct the host profile.

I have the option to accept the change, but I don't know what effect this will have with the network. I need to change the return address to the original static address or some applications will not be able to find the server correctly. Is this ok to restore? The name of the device adapters listed in the folder network cards is VMware Accelerated AMD PCNet Adapter, not the server vSphere Broadcome NetXtreme II adapter. I have attached the reference error message window. This a virtual machine in Windows Server 2003 R2 SP1.

  HM?  As far as I know, we have not added any restrictions.  We do not provide a user interface for it, but manually modifying the .vmx file and change ethernet0.addressType and ethernet0.address to a MAC from another provider address seem to work for me.

  I also changed parIP normal address and it works. but of course, the server must be autonomous before doing this step (i.e. no secondary ACSS registered to him and he is not on the other ACSS in a distributoin).
