Change the SSID on a HP OfficeJet Pro 8100

Hello world

I've updated my router from WEP to WPA2 wireless and may not know how to upgrade the SSID on the OfficeJet Pro 8100.  I've updated my consoles of mobile games, televisions, thermostat etc to the new SSID and password.

I don't have the installation CD.  I have the USB cable.  I run the HP 5.19.2 utility.

When to connect the printer to the computer with the USB, I access the HP utility, click 'Network settings' to the program extracts information and provides the following error msg:

"The task of network settings is not currently available.  Please make sure that the device is connected to a network. »

Well, I know it is not connected to the network, I just need the screen to enter the new SSID and password.

Other information that might be useful:

Operating system: OS x Version 10.9.1

Model: Officejet Pro 8100 N811a

Service ID: 23267

FW version: TSP1FN1148IR

Driver version: HP inkjet 3 pilot 3.3.3

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

5. click on the utility tab at the top

6. click the button Open Printer Utility

7. all the settings > network settings > Hello parameters

8 select Hello if it is not enabled, click the URL next to your device to the URL address to access:

9. to the web page for the URL, click on the network tab

10. click on wireless configuration wizard, click OK, ignore SSL warnings, enter your printer admin password if you set one

  • How can I change the name of my HP OfficeJet Pro 8100, which is a network printer?

My employer asked if I could change the name of one of our network printers, so it could easily say that it is the choice of location of printers.  I opened the printer from the control panel and choose Customize your printer, general.  I changed the name in the box. After I did it, the printer was grey in the control panel and I got a message saying something about checking the name on the network.  What should do besides changing the name in the box in general?

    LottaLatte,

    Welcome to the HP Forum.

One of the dangers of changing the names of "stuff" is that sometimes, this 'trick' is the actual program or a link to a real program that the computer must follow.  Next thing you know, the computer lost track of the program used for - print, get on the network, or make a conference call.

An easy option and one that usually works is the following:

No matter when you want to rename an icon, or customize a program, or do something that can change the way a program - works first of all make a shortcut to the program and then change the shortcut.

    Example:

Control Panel > set display icon > devices and printers >

Scroll to the bottom for printers >

Right click on the Active printer (HP PhotoSmart 8200 series) > select Create shortcut *.

    * Text may vary according to the type of action - you can select "Send to desktop" to create certain types of shortcuts

The action creates a shortcut on the desktop

    Next:

Right-click on the shortcut > properties > general tab >

Replace the name with any text you prefer

If the person for whom you are making the shortcut wishes, you can move or copy the shortcut in a folder, instead of the icon on the desktop.

  • HP OFFICEJET PRO 6230: Best way to change the settings WIFI on HP OFFICEJET PRO 6230

    Hi all

Just after some advice about this printer. It's the printer be mobile , so it can be taken with the Member of staff, connected to wifi where they are and then the group they present to can do impressions of him through their ipads (via AirPrint).

This all works well 'in House' connected to our wireless network. Have set up the printer wireless via the software installed on their laptop computer (with a USB cable to transfer the settings of the printer), but y at - it an EASY way to change the SSID and password wifi when they are there in the area? I know you can hold down the button "wifi" on the printer for three seconds (until the wireless flashes) then hold down the button "WPS" about to access/reuter and they have a link but it's only if WPS is available and that the staff member can access the reuter/access point.

They will have their laptops with them and USB cable in order to re - set the SSID and password, but seems a bit lengthy to go by "connect a new printer" for each site they visit. Is the right way to do it or there at - it another way 'over easy' I forgot. I guess also here the printer remembers SSID/passwords so that there be set up a time for a given location and then will be "auto-connect" if they come back? Is this correct?

Any help on this is much appreciated.

    See you soon,.

Not the printer that you want to do.  Here is the Guide of the user for you to read on your wireless options.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-OfficeJet-Pro-6230-ePrinter-series/5390318/model/5390319/manuals/

You will need to run the configuration each time to connect software.  You could try Direct another wireless to connect to the printer.  You need a printer with a Panel for configuration complete front so you can easily change the SSID.

Whatever it is, everyone will have to load the software in order to use the printer.  It can automatically connect, but do not count on it.

  • How can I change the margins on my hp officejet pro l7580

Some forms print have information of compliance at the bottom which is necessary to properly process the document and margins on my hp officejet pro L7580 (printer), often cut out of the bottom of the page. I need to adjust the margins on the machine itself. How can I do this? I have searched everywhere online and my manual and can't find the answer.

Unfortunately there isn't a way to set the margins on the phone itself, but you can enable the printer to print without margins (that is) that your program has full control of the border) by following the instructions in the link below:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/bpy21049

Once you have done this, you should be able to adjust the margins through your program without limitation.

  • Unable to connect to the server on my HP Officejet Pro 8100 eprint

I bought this printer a few months ago and had no problems of implementation. It is configured as a wireless printer and I allowed him to install his own IP (use DHCP). EPrint configuration was also easy to implement.

Last week, it was necessary for me to set up my network home, consisting of 3 computers, NAS QNAP, IPAD3, HP printer, with static IP addresses.
To set a static IP address on my printer, I had to reset the printer, uninstall the software and drivers and reinstall. Everything is going well until I tried to connect to the eprint server by using the embeddeded web server (EWS). It wouldn't let me connect to the server. I went into the settings of web services, but not a not to connect to the server in one of the topics. On the printer, the symbol wireless is turned on and the printer works with all my devices on the network, but the EPRINT symbol is turned off and not be in power switch manually.
(My main computer is a HP Envy 17 under Windows 7 Ultimate and the printer has been configured using this computer. 2 other computers running Windows XP
I would appreciate your help. Thank you very much

We recommend that you do the following:

    Please, check the following:
You have a MAC filter or the firewall of the router may be blocking the signal?

    Please proceed as follows:
-Perform a reset of the NVM on the printer, please find the below steps.
-update the firmware of the printer, please find the below steps.
-connect the printer to the router with the Wireless Setup Wizard (dynamic IP address)
Press the button on your printer wireless
    Choose settings
    Choose Wireless Setup Wizard
-Enter Google's DNS servers in the EWS (built-in web server) the printer
    Click the Networking tab
on the left side choose wireless (802.11)
in verifying the Configuration of DNS manual DNS server address
in manual preferred DNS 8.8.8.8 Server type
in auxiliary DNS server, type 8.8.4.4

    -enable Web services
-If this does not work, please provide us with the exact error message.

    Execution of the NVM reset

    Firmware update
Please follow the link on the hp site for an update of the firmware:

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=5218794&LC=en&cc=UK&DLC=en&lang=en&cc=UK

It is absolutely vital that this update via a USB cable or ethernet so it is physically wired to the printer. An update of firmware through a wireless connection is NOT recommended and may cause other problems with your printer.

I have also attached the link for the User Guide in case you want to review.

    AirPrint

Please update firmware as explained above.

Please turn on the router, the printer and the iPad. Important first to reboot the router.

Make sure that the product is connected wireless to the same subnet as your iOS device.
Check if the printers EWS accessible from Safari on the iPhone/iPad (insert the IP address in the URL field). If this is not possible, then the iPad/iPhone not be connected to the same network as the printer. Open system preferences, and then select the network

After suggestions from HP and after having re-recorded with eprint and after the email address for a new another eprint choosing, I can now use eprint and print from my IPad with all devices on my network using static IP addresses.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8100: change the ssid

I recently tried the Hotspot to unite AT & T.  That has worked very well but not decided to take it and went back to my Airport base station and the old service provider.  When I tried to connect my printer to my network - a printer works fine but the HP Officejet Pro 8100 will not change back the Name (SSID) the name for the old SSID hotspot network.  Since I was a new AirBook Pro I have to connect the cable to a USB port and then run the utility for my printer and select network.  It does not connect.  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your suggestion. I tried this many times and it would be not just to reset the ssid. So after writing my post, I tried pressing the wireless button and the on/off switch at the same time. I went to try out some other combinations and print the configuration page. He changed the ssid for the correct name. Of course then I had to do what you described. Go to the printer utility with the cable connecting the computer and the printer and click on network. It has finally connected and I unplugged the cable between the computer and the printer. No problems now. Thanks for responding so quickly and hope it helps someone else.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8100: Can not find the driver for the Officejet Pro 8100 online

I've recently updated to Win10 (the free update, I do not know how many bits). I also then changed my wireless carrier. Now my laptop is not connecting to the new hub, and it seems that there is no driver more - so I don't know if these changes are the problem, or one of them.

I tried to install a new driver and I first started the process, but the printer not print report pages, and then the laptop don't would not recognize the USB cable, even though it had been plugged in all the time. I tried to remove the cable and reinsert; also turning the printer market, but cela did not work.

I also have Virgin and with them her reset the hub, but the hub still not connect to the printer.

Now when I go to the page of drivers hp and it identifies my product, it then tells me there is no drivers for this printer now, and I should come back later in case they are developing.

I can't believe that this is true. Can you please give me a link to a page where I can find and install the driver?

May also explain why the cable USB is not recognized?

    Thank you.

  • duplex unit is no longer an option in the print screen - hp officejet pro 8100

I have a HP Officejet Pro 8100 that came with a duplexer. Until today, the duplexer has worked. Technically, I don't know that it does not work. But when I open the print screen in open office, adobe or any other program, it is no longer gives me the option to print double-sided. I have no idea what to do and there are no tutorials that explain how to fix this. Any help is appreciated.

Discovered after trying to reinstall the printer software that because my updated OS updated to 8.1 of Windows 7, my printer is no longer compatible with my computer. Is - this ridiculous or what? I have messaged HP, so I have no guarantee so I don't know that they will refuse any product support. It's okay, if need be I will take my business elsewhere. I would not have to pay for support on a product that they have outdated on purpose. Companies used to be a quality product. Oh how times have changed. It is an expensive paper weight.

@KKissmann, welcome to the community of HP

I read your post and I would try to help. Your Officejet Pro 8100 is compatible with Windows 8.1, so we should be able to get through this problem. Maybe you've tried running the installation from the CD, which is perhaps not a Windows 8.1 driver loaded, what can happen and you need to download the driver online instead. We will eventually get there

Please click here to access the full functionality of driver and software for Windows 8.1:

Driver and complete software of HP Officejet Pro features

Once the download is complete, run through the installation until it is completely finished. Subsequently, test print and check if you have the option to print double-sided.

Let me know if you encounter any problems!

Hello and welcome to the community of HP @jujupud,

I understand that you want to unlock the settings on your HP Officejet Pro 8610 administrator, but you forgot the password. I'll be happy to help you.

Your printer will have to be reset. I'll message you private instructions you need to do. Note that reset will clear your wireless settings, then you may need to reconnect to your network when you have finished resetting. (It's like the printer out of box at that point).
