  Note:-back up your Lightroom Catalog beforehand and save Photoshop preferences

  I use PSE 4.0 and I would like to implement shortcuts on my desktop to open different catalogs. I have a catalog for work and one for personal and it would be nice to open directly to the one I choose. Is this possible?

  Yes. Each catalog is a separate file ending with .psa somewhere on your hard drive. You can create a shortcut to this file and double-click it. You can find the location and name of each catalog file by opening the organizer and by opening the specific catalogue of interest and selecting Help-> System Info.

  If it is one that has been created on your computer, you can search your computer to see if you have two different versions of Lightroom installed. If so, then you want to open the new version of Lightroom by double-clicking its icon, and then you should be able to open the catalog.

  40 000 images can be in a catalog in Lightroom.  There are people who have 100, in thousands of images in a single catalog.   The way to do is to "Export as Catalog" three different temporary files need to each main catalog catalogs.  Then 'Import as Catalog' two of these 3 temporary catalogs in the catalog remains temporary for your slide show.  You ran into the main reason to have a catalog.

  In a catalog, select the photos you want, then use file-> export as catalog

  In the 2nd catalog, use the file-> import from another catalog

  When I opened the different catalogues, it seems that some import settings are specific to this catalogue and others are applicable on any catalogue. For example, the option copy or simply add an image is specific to the catalog, but preset to develop is always used for the last import, or none if it was the option chosen.

  Is it possible to specify a different import develop preset on a basis by catalog? Also, is it possible to specify one develop different pre-set camera model (or maybe the other image attribute) in a catalog?

  Many parameters "last use" tend to be one-by-system, not one-by-catalog.

  While I use multiple catalogs, I never count on these parameters are correct. so I always check them on the assumption that they are bad for the current circumstance.

  If you want to leave the location of the image file where it is now, you can do this by following these steps:

  • Select the photos you want to move in grid Mode
  • Chose export as catalog
  • Choose a location for the exported catalog and uncheck "export negative files.
  • Perform the export
  • Delete the images selected in the original catalogue

  In doing so, you have created a new catalog with just the images selected in the process. If you want to incorporate those in an another already existing catalog, you can do by importing the newly created catalog with the function "import from catalog.

  If you also want to export (= double) the original images with the new catalogue, check 'export negative files' in the export process.

  If you selected "Include available previews' in the process is not so relevant. In doing so, the catalog newly built will be already supported by previews built from the beginning, steps, the first launch of the new catalog will launch a version of the preview.

  I currently subscribe to the iTunes Store for my Apple's music service. As I live in Israel, I have the upportunity to Israeli store, for a significant discount on the Apple's music. I have two main concerns with it:

  1. is the catalogue of artists is different from one country to the other? Would not lose some of my favorite artists, in favour of local artists popular (and lame).

  2. in the event that this influence somehow my iTunes subscription game? If I understand correctly, music Apple will overtake iTunes game in iOS 10 without extra remuneration for this service. Is this true? If so, it will be valid internationally?

  After starting a print job (as with file > print), the resulting window should have an arrow next to the name of the printer that is pointing UP. If it does not point to the top, click on it.

• Can I re - merge a catalog of smart with their original dng previews in a different catalog?

  I can do this wrong...

  I exported a catalog of the only intelligent seen at work with my MBP. It is as simple as the import of this new catalogue back in my master catalog where the original dng files, or is there some other tricks, I have to do? If I import the smart preview catalog, it will create duplicates or it will merge previews with their corresponding originals.

  Looks like I answered my own question. It is possible to simply update the previews and parameters for the main catalogue of development.

  I created a test catalog of a few chose my preview catalog smart and then imported this catalogue in my master catalog. The dialog box gives me the opportunity to not import the original files and update the previews, metadata and develop settings only.

  So all is good. Thanks for all the weight.

• How to move 1 catalog in a different catalog?

  I realized that I have 1-2 many catalogs in my Lr 2015 cc, how can I move the additional catalogs in a master catalog so I don't have that one catalog to open for my Lightroom?

  Open the main catalog, select file-> import from another catalog, then select the other catalog file. Repeat the operation if necessary for the other catalogs.
