  Looks like it would be wise to reinstall Chrome, as it may not be updated when you updated to Sierra.

  I am the new owner of a Macbook Pro 13 "retina early 2015 model with 8 GB of RAM.

  I need to really take care of this laptop that I'll probably not be able to replace it soon (I have two little babies to feed!), but I demand a lot of it (I am a school administrator working on my doctorate degree).

  My questions:

  • Google Chrome is really the resource hog I've read on reviews of browser? I heard that Safari is much less demanding on Macs, but it does everything just for me, especially because we use a lot of Google Apps for education at the school that I work at and where I study. I tried to go on Safari to work for this reason, but it's just impossible/impractical
  • I bought a Briefcase for laptop computer for extra protection, but a colleague told me that they have actually cause more harm than good. He seemed to have a personal vendetta against them, so I would like to get your thoughts. His main complaint is that they have cause overheating, but my case does not have one of the vents and extra mouths on the bottom

  Note, I don't play all the games on this machine; I use it strictly for communication and research. I use mostly Google Docs/sheets/slides for my office work and school.

  I use a plastic cover on my MBP to 2015 and have never had an overheating problem.  As you say, it's what the vents for and coverage provides protection against shocks of everyday.

  When I download Chrome for OS x, the googlechrome.dmg is correctly downloaded.  When I double click the icon, it apparently installs and then brings me to the Application page, but it is not listed.  It is not found.

  Double-click on the dmg and then either run Chrome from here or drag it to the Applications folder. By double-clicking an alias in the Applications folder from the disk image will not install anything.

• Why I can't download Google Chrome to my old Macbook (13 "early 2009) with OS 10.11.6?

  It is a SCAM!  By calling do not, you have made the right choice.  Delete history in Chrome and you should be OK.

  Also remove AVAST.  AV for Macs are completely non-essential and can do more harm than good.  Please read this:

  If the problem started after you update OS X...?  Then, it looks like you will have to perhaps to update or uninstall these third-party App which are the cause of the problem.
