Chromebook 14-q015sa mouse pointer jitters when charging
Hello
CAN ANYONE HELP?
I HAVE A NEW HP CHROMEBOOK BOUGHT 14 AT HP SIX WEEKS AGO.
I ONLY GOT TO LOAD SEVERAL TIMES BUT EVERY TIME I PLUG IN THE CHARGER AND PUT THE FINGER ON THE TOUCH PAD THE ARROW/POINTER JITTERS AROUND THE SCREEN RANDOMLY.
I RESORTED TO THE USE OF A WIRELESS USB MOUSE WHILE LOADING AND IT DOES NOT SUFFER THE SAME PROBLEM.
ANY IDEAS? OR SHOULD I CONTACT HP I HAVE A THREE YEAR WARRANTY.
Thank you very much.
Hello Brioche-e-rabbit,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that your Chromebook is problems with the touchpad when charging. To be honest, you are more likely to have a hardware problem. Chromebook does not have a list of hardware drivers for me to direct you, so your best bet, as you already said, would be to contact support phone for service options. You can contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.
Hope this helps!

Satellite M500 - Mouse pointer disappears when you play games online
I have a brand new, custom configured M500 form Toshiba. It has Windows 7 Professional Enterprise, 64-bit edition. Everything worked great until I spent a lot of money on the game Star Trek Online. When I go in the game, the mouse pointer disappears. I can see on the screen change action items when the mouse hover over them but no pointer. It makes the game difficult. Then I tried another game online, Free Realms, and I have the same problem.
I use a Logitech V220 Wireless mouse. I uninstalled the Logitech driver to see if that was the issue. I allowed Windows to use the default driver provided with the system. It does not work.
I called Toshiba and they had me remove the device and selected Windows generic driver for that. It works no more. The guy on the line said it would enter my service call and that she would go to a senior technician and they would call me within 24 hours. It has been two weeks and not a glance.
Anyone else has this problem or know of any other way I can try to solve it?
Hello
To me that sounds like this, there is a problem (incompatibility) between this online game and your external mouse...
In your case I remove the mouse and uninstall the driver. Run CCleaner to clean the registry. Now try the touchpad online.More update the display and DirectX as Al - eX driver already written.

The mouse pointer disappears when you type.
When I'm composing an email, the cursor becomes empty on the page, but not on the rest of the screen.
you have a parameter the value "hide the pointer when typing"
to restore it, click Start, click Control Panel, click the mouse, click the pointer options, uncheck the "Hide pointer while typing" and click OK.

Disappearing mouse pointer when running games in Win7
The mouse pointer disappears when you run one of quite a few games under Win7 64-bit. I tried the obvious solutions of updated all drivers and Windows in the classic Windows theme (i.e. Non-Aero, Windows based), but no use! My rig is the following: Core I5; NVIDIA 460 (1 GB); Samsung 24 "True HD LCD display; Microsoft Sidewinder mouse; 16Gb 1333 Mhz RAM. I'm running my screen at a resolution of 1920 x 1080, but even tried lower resolutions with no joy at all. The text of the command / blocks in games still light up if after that manyu attempts you can accidentally an overview of the text, but still no pointer!

Windows Vista starts with only a black screen with the mouse pointer.
Saturday, 02/27/10, I left my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1405 E) because I used Studio to produce a couple of videos. When I got up in the morning, he himself had closed. I tried to put on normally, and he said: recovery error windows, then on lists: Launch Startup Repair tool and start windows normally. I tried to do a repair, but it just comes back to the same screen. When I try to boot normally, it shows the progress on the background as usual bar, but then he comes up to a black screen with a mouse pointer. When I run one of the many diagnostic tests, it is said that the BIOS cannot find the operating system loader. I'm pretty adept at computers, but nothing I've tried before reinstalling Vista works. I have files that I need to keep it on the computer, and only a few of them are saved. Please help me soon, as I need for my school musical production on Thursday.
Hello
You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss

The mouse pointer jump at the top of the screen when the dialog box opens
In the last few weeks my mouse pointer jumps sometimes extreme high (left side) of the FF browser window. Only happens in FF, Chrome or IE or any other application from Ms. The mouse to update drivers fees Reloaded, switched mouses, USB switch, ports switched to a mouse not MS - all to nothing does.
"It seems to happen most often when I mouse ' snap to" feature is turned on and that the pointer automatically moves to the default button in the dialog box.
This unique disability FF to hide the pointer when you enter (when the value in the mouse properties box) have become very annoying.
Please address and solve the two problems above. Thank you.
Good news! Now come on. For the moment, you can disable
KeyScrambler. You can always turn it on when you need it. -
How can I solve a problem witht my mouse pointer when it gets to the very big chance?
When I use Firefox, at seemingly random times, my mouse pointer becomes suddenly extra-large. The only 'solution' that I found is to restart the computer.
Hello
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

When I start a program (for example. Sonos controller) on my laptop my mouse pointer stops working. It does not happen with all programs! I did a complete system of virusscan and a pre start virusscan and my laptop is virus-free.
I uninstalled the mouse and in drivers reinstalled synaptics them but that has not worked. I added a new account windows but that did not work.
By pressing the keycombo FN + F9 has no effect.
I am somehow at the end of my ideas...Can anyone help!
When I start a program (for example. Sonos controller) on my laptop my mouse pointer stops working. It does not happen with all programs!
This problem happens using the touchpad only or have you noticed the freezing of cursor using the external USB mouse too?
What is the notebooks touchpad works properly without loading and using this 3rd party software?
For example, work the touchpad with Microsoft office (Word, Excel, etc.) or navigation in internet by using IE or Chrome? My guess is that the pre-installed 3rd application part could affect the functionality of the touchpad.

We are an OEM that systems of electronic Assembly is based, in our machine is a PC running Windows XP Professional that provides the interface for the operator. Some of our systems have begun to crash intermittently when stopping. Up to now we have seen it on three machines. There has been no change to hardware or drivers that we put on these machines.
The PC is supposed to stop at the point were he said "It is now turn off your computer", but it hangs when the only thing on the screen is the default windows background and the mouse pointer. The mouse moves, but that's all. He is unresponsive to ctrl-alt-delete, or any other entry.
This was reported 5 times, and in any case there's nothing in any log file which would tend to indicate where the problem is maybe.
I guess we have a bad driver or device, but the problem only happens once all stops of 5-10, and only after the machine is turned on for a while.
I just turned on the detailed status messages, but they did not stop the machine since.
What I asked is: is it possible to get windows to connect to all events stop? I really want to know what he was doing when he stopped. Can someone else think something I can look at, or a better way to debug this?
Re: a suggestion on this new monitor to 'prove' is the source of the problem
Disconnect it, connect a type non-ecran touch "ordinary".
stop/restart in safe MODE, make sure that the old monitor is not appear in the Device Manager [what we used to call a ghost]
If it IS, delete it & uninstall the sw provided with touch screen
Reboot in normal mode
Try a stop

I'm using Windows Vista with a Sony Vaio laptop. At the office, I have a docking station with keyboard and external mouse. Everything works fine with this Setup. But when I unplug the docking station and use the touchpad on the laptop, my mouse pointer moves in the opposite direction, that is my intention. I move my finger and the pointer down. I move to the right and the pointer goes left. How can I fix?
Go to start /Control Panel, and then double-click the icon '' mouse. '' When this window opens, select the tab "Touch Pad" at the top. There's a box near the bottom called "Touch sensitivity", click on that. Change the settings a little bit lower than what they are currently at.

my touch pad on my laptop does not move the pointer, but when I have my mouse wireless pluged in it will work I was told I could have disabled the touch pad which I have to do to activate it again?
Hi dove2k,
Welcome to Microsoft Answers Forums.
You will need to enable the touchpad on the laptop itself.
Find the area of the touch pad, you will find a button to enable or disable the touchpad.
If the step above doesn't, try this step.
Go to control panel > mouse > device settings tab
Click(or to disable) Notes:
On some models, there is a keyboard shortcut to enable or disable the touchpad. For example, ACER, just do Fn + F7.
You can click on Reset device if none of these solutions work.If you still can't touch pad to work, you will need to contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more information.
