Cisco 881 can ping internet but computers behind the router cannot

I have a cisco 881, which can ping internet but not of any computer behind it. Computers receive a static IP address, that is why there is no DHCP assigned to any LAN interface. Here's the running configuration:

Any ideas?

Thank you.

I see ip nat inside and ip nat outside interfaces configured on. But I don't see any translation of address configured. This would preclude anything inside the unit to be able to access the Internet.

    Hello, Bill Bates,.

I would say to contact support with their router blank:
  • Vista can connect to other computers on the network, but not to the internet

I have a Vista computer that I just reinstalled and it is connected through a router Thomson to a Win7 machine and internet (or at least it should be).  For some reason any Vista machine refers to the network as a public network that I can change this private and turn on discovery.  If I do that, then the machine Vista can see the Win7 machine through the router, but cannot connect to the internet.

I tried to use the disk driver for the Thomson router on the Vista machine, but at the time wherever he tells me to connect cable internet installation program does not detect that the cable has been connected.

Troubleshooting with software Vista suggests simply reboot the router (that I tried without success).  Needless to say that the Win7 machine connects to the internet fine.

I was wondering whether to try to remove the connection and start again, but unable to do so because when the cable is plugged in tells me you cannot delete an active connection and when I disconnect the cable network connection disappears and so cannot be deleted.

    Grateful for pointers

    Ian

    Hi IanRC,

    Try the following steps.

    Step 1

You can try to disable the antivirus software on your computer and check if it works. Activate antivirus once you check the status.

Note An antivirus program is designed to help protect your computer against viruses. You must not download or open files from sources that you do not have trust, visit Web sites that do not trust, or open attachments when your antivirus program is disabled.

    Step 2

Try the Microsoft Fixit. Open the link below and click it on the Fixit button.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/928233

Check if it works and post back the result.

  • Wireless laptop running Vista 32 and wired desktop under Vista 64 can access Internet, but not each other!

My laptop Vista 32 unreal access router and ping its own IP address, but no access to Vista 64-bit Wired Office with ping or try to access folders shared I place some months ago and used without problem until about 2 days ago. I recently did a restore of the laptop but it worked after that and I adjusted all the settings. I have Net bios over TCP/IP enabled on both machines. I have two machines on the workgroup and file sharing is enabled on both. Vista 64 desktop computer can access the Internet but can not access the shared folders that I put in this PC! He cannot ping the router either but can be accessed via the routers Web page. The router is configured correctly as well. I became a master browser errors on Vista 64 desktop until I changed the registry on the laptop off car with respect to the list of servers. I'm a computer technician with networking experience, but am confused on this one. There are so many problems over there near the mine, but they usually have xp machines trying to access Vista or vice-verse. In addition, they cannot access the Internet generally. If anyone out there has any intelligent suggestions I'm desperate, but know that I have this research completely so guess I did all the basic troubleshooting to save time you and me. Thanks in advance to anyone with advice!

Hey thanks for getting back to me, I wanted to let you know that I could solve the problem! I'm not sure excatly what the problem was, but I went and bought a fixed register a program so that I paid for, as you no doubt know the free just ruin your machine more than it is useful, well I ran that and restarted and BOOM! Now even if I can connect to each computer and the internet. I'm still not able to ping? Now when I say that this is not so much genral, the laptop I can ping any name of site Web and number but not the PC. On the PC I can ping its own IP address but not the router or laptop? But it has no bearing on anything so I anticipate leaving me well enough alone. I how ever to download a graphics professional ping program, but not to worried about it! Thank you so much for you help and if I need more help, I hope you are avalibale!

  • Guest OS using NAT and host wireless can ping Google but can't surf the net

    Hi all.

I just installed 'Vmware Workstation ACE Edition' Version: 6.0.0 build-45731

I then installed a new virtual machine Windows XP SP2 home edition.

My host is a business of W7, browse the internet using a wireless network card. (I currently don't have a way to have the physical NIC connected to it).

    My conf wireless host is:

LAN wireless adapter wireless network connection:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :

... Description: Connection network Intel (r) PRO / Wireless 3945ABG

    DHCP active...: Yes

    Autoconfiguration enabled...: Yes

    IPv4 address: 192.168.1.33 (Preferred)

    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

    Lease obtained...: Thursday, December 2, 2010 10:50

    Lease expires...: Sunday, December 5, 2010 10:49:59

    ... Default gateway. : 192.168.1.1.

    DHCP server...: 192.168.1.1.

    DNS servers...: 192.168.1.1.

    NetBIOS over TCP/IP...: enabled

The goal is simple: be able to surf the web with my guest OS (Windows XP Home edition).

I first tried to bridge with VMnet0 = > KO (no ping, no navigation)

I then tried NAT which is by default bound to VMnet08 = > always KO but:

    -I can ping google.com:

Ping google.com http://173.194.36.104 with 32 bytes of data:

    Reply from 173.194.36.104: bytes = 32 time = 765ms TTL = 128

-I can not always surfing the net

When you activate NAT on the guest operating system the ipconfig gives the following:

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

The connection-specific DNS suffix. : localdomain

    ... The IP address: 192.168.31.128

    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

    ... Default gateway. : 192.168.31.2.

I do not have an anti virus installed on the client

I tried to disable windows firewall with no luck

    I tried telnet google.com port 80 = > KO

    C:\ > telnet google.com 80

Login to google.com... Could not open connection to the host, on port 80: Co

    nnect failed

Any help, tracks, ideas, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

    Michael

Just an info, Windows 7 is not a host VMware Ace/Workstation 6 operating system.  Also why do you install 6.0.0 vs install 6.0.5?

Have you tried to manually set DNS servers to no known public IP address just leave it to the private IP address that you have shown by default?

    Give a try:

    OpenDNS

    208.67.222.222

    208.67.220.220

    Or

    Google Public DNS

    8.8.8.8

    8.8.4.4

    Thank you!

You can, but you can't use transfer based on the interface of the to do. It should be based on the address itself. It's fine if you have static addresses or reserved on your WAN interfaces, but pose a problem if the addresses are dynamic:

    ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.2.x 3389 1.1.1.1 3389 route-map NAT-WAN1ip nat inside source static tcp 192.168.2.x 3389 2.2.2.2 3389 route-map NAT-WAN2
Replace the address of your interface WAN1 and 2.2.2.2 with the address of your 1.1.1.1 WAN2 interface. Applying the road maps will work pretty much the same way as it does with your statements of overload. Each transmission NAT rule applies only to the traffic corresponding to rules of the road map.

    Thank you

    Lori

Hi Lori, hostname access is generally limited to the range of local IP addresses. In addition, the router does not host a DNS record to resolve hostnames on part and other VPN respectively. You can configure the LMHOST files on each machine or you can try to use NetBios.

You can enable NetBios on the VPN tunnel configured on each router and disable the Firewall window or make exceptions to allow NetBios traffic through the firewall of the machine.

  • Can ping printer but cannot print

    Hi all
Not sure if this is the right forum, but it is a network printer, so I thought I would try it. My apologies if it should be elsewhere.

I have here a user who is trying to print to a printer Samsung CLX-6200 from anywhere in Windows 7 (even a test page will not work). We can see the printer, we can interact with the properties, we can ping the printer. We can do just about everything except print.

It is not a printer problem, like others on the network successfully print on the printer. It is not a print spooler problem, because the user can print to other printers on the network successfully. I assumed it was a corrupted driver or something, however to remove and then reinstall the device at no change results. I tried to connect directly to the printer (using a TCP/IP port) and connection via the print server. No luck.

The print job appears in the print queue but does not print and eventually fails. The print processor is Winprint, I checked the logs, but found no errors.

A complete reinstall, which I really don't want to do in deca (the user is in a remote office) I'm out of ideas.

The user runs Win 7-32 bit on a Dell Vostro 3550.

The following is based on my experience with XP; I haven't done a lot of work/research on Win 7 yet so I can't tell you absolutely that it will work, but it is worth trying.

In general, printer drivers are installed using an INF file.  However, the first time that an installation is attempted, Windows 'compile' the relevant INF file in a companion PNF file with the same name.  For subsequent installations, Windows uses the PNF file.

If you suspect a corrupted driver and download a new one, unless you have completely removed the old driver, including his PNF file, Windows will often use the old files.  You think that you install a new driver, but you're really not.

In Windows XP, the solution had to go on 'Server properties' in the file menu of the windows printers and faxes and delete the suspicious driver from there.  In Windows 7, it's a little more complicated:

Control Panel > system and security > administrative tools
    Print management
In the left pane, expand print servers > > drivers
Select the suspicious driver in the right pane and Delete (I don't know if you have to remove the complete package 'pilot' or not, that the option was not under XP).
    Now reinstall the driver.

If the remote user does not use a "computer administrator" account, I suspect that you may need to "Print Management" right click and select 'run as administrator '.

P.S.: Another procedure in XP was to use cleanspl.exe to Windows 2003 (available here--> http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17657) Resource Kit.  According to this Technet thread, the same tool will work in Windows 7.

  • Windows 8 says it is connected to the Internet, but none of the browsers can access a Web site.

Windows 8 worked well without problems.  So I think some updates were automatically installed and now none of the 3 browsers work.  Network utilities show always the computer is connected to the internet, but the speed tests it does not at all.  Our other computer with Windows 8 ceased to be able to access the internet at the same time.

I tried to restore to a previous restore point, but it is still not possible to access the internet.

    Thank you!

After making back all Microsoft updates and spend 4 hours on the line with the support of Microsoft, we have reduced to eSet having a service that forbade access to the internet, even if we have disabled the firewall.  Stopping this service restored internet access.

eSet has been marked as compatible on different Web sites, but check on eSet they revealed there are questions.

Initially things worked but eSet must have updated something that caused problems.

  • WRT160N - can't see other computers on the network

I installed a new WRT160N and now I can't see other computers on my local network, but I can access the internet on each of them.

Y at - it a setting that I need to change or what I need to use static IP instead of DHCP addresses?

If you cannot ping the other computers on the network, then check your firewall settings or any other security software blocking the connection.

  • CAN´t find other computers on the home network Windows.

I have a home network windows already defined with two desktop with Windows XP and a laptop with Windows 2000. The computers are connected to a router with ethernet cables and the lap top wireless (WiFi) to the same router. Now, I'm trying to connect a fourth computer (a desk top) with Windows Vista. It works fine to connect to Internet, but I can't reach the other computers on the network. On other computers, I can see a 'new', but I don't see the others of a "new". Can someone help me with the configuration of the computer "Vista"?  Thanks in advance.  / Thomas

    Hello

To home network computers running different versions of Windows, we need to make sure that what follows.
    a. ensure that all computers are in the same workgroup.
    (b) the value of the private network location type.
    c. open ports in your firewall to allow file and printer sharing.
d. turn on additional file and printer sharing options.
    e. consider using password protected sharing.
    5 using the network card.

The NIC in the network and sharing Center is a graphical view of the computers and devices on your network, showing how they are connected and including problem areas. A computer running Windows XP can be detected and appear on the network map, you may need to install the Protocol Link-Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) on this computer.

To install LLTD, visit the following link and download: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922120

  • new messages not seen in the Inbox pane open but numbers behind the folder in the folder tree rising

My Inbox is open and a new email arrives. The number in parentheses behind the Inbox folder on the left of the folders tree, grows with 1. However, I see no new message in the Inbox pane. When I first, open another folder and then return to my Inbox, the new message is displayed as it should be in bold. So I have to change files all the time before I can read the new messages are indicated by an increase in the number of in the tree.

This was not the case before, and it is very irritating. Any suggestions?
