Cisco RV120W settings VLAN

Hey,.

I have problems to configure my router vpn cisco RV120w.

I' soul a new network installation. On port 1, my modem is connected to my provider ISS. Port 2 on an HP proliant SBS 2011 to connected. Port 3 on the same server for building specific applications. the 4th port I mede existing connection with the network.

Everywone requires access to port 1 for internet and port 2, because it's the server active directory. Some people need also have access to the 3. Ditto for port 4.

Belonging to a Vlan is configured like this:

VLAN: Enable
Create VLANs and assign the outgoing frame Type.

Up to four new VLANS can be created. VLAN ID must be in the order (2.4094)

Can anywone help my to configure this correct.

Thank you

To get the LAN communication to work a few things look like they need a change.

Port 1 must be untagged vlan 1

2 port should be untagged vlan 2

Port 3 should be untagged vlan 3

Port 4 is expected to be untagged vlan 4

In addition, routing inter - vlan must be activated for your vlan 3 and vlan 4.

    Greetings Jens Ove and Helge

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with this device.  However, I would search in the areas of networks, VPN and security.

You want to be sure of not having active VPN and also look for implementing isolation.

  • Cisco SG500 and VLAN

OK so here is what I try to accomplish with 3 switch Cisco SG500-52. I created 4 VLANS on a SG500 I call my central office switch and it is set in routing mode. My VLAN is thus 400 (Infrastructure ESXI hosts, firewall, etc.), 401 (VoIP), 402 (users) and 403 (wireless). I have configured interfaces and the delivery without problem for me through my subnets and the communities of remote access through 3 offices.

Where I'm not sure is on the SG500 I set as a L2 switch and my ESXi host are connected (I have 10 ports on one VLAN remote iSCSI traffic) is that I have to create VLAN 400 and mark those ports not marked? So should I use 1-2 ports and set them as ports and tag to my main switch 400?

In the affirmative on the main switch I create junction ports and mark for the VLAN on the switch that could access the L2 switch? Is this also the case for the other SG500 I have who are all devices for 402 VLAN?

    I'm overloading it?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Sdonnelly2,

For vlan 402 and 400 on the uplink to your sg500 (L2) would be 400U and 402 T.

Other interfaces for VoIP phones on vlan 401 would be configured to 401 T. This is if your phones expect traffic labeled, otherwise they would be configured to 401U.

For Vlan 402 other interfaces would still be 402U. PC only contacted untagged traffic

For 403 Vlan wireless uplink access point must be configured (400U, 401, 402, 403T)

It is perhaps more information than expected, but I hope that I have answered other questions you had.

  • problem with dhcp Cisco sg200 voice vlan

I have cisco sg200 50 p connected to the switch cisco 3750. I just wanted to separate voice (vlan2) and data (vlan1) VLAN. I created vlan 2 as my voice VLAN and separate dhcp server for vlan 2 to give IPS for phones. However the phone ip connected to my voice vlan (vlan 2) does not receive the ip address of my dhcp server vlan 2.

the dhcp server is connected to a switch with an access port (vlan2-voice) 3750

two switches are connected through the trunk ports and allowed vlan 1 & 2

IP phone is connected to sg200 via the access port (vlan 2).

Note: there is a pc connected to the ip phone

I'm really grateful if someone can help me with this problem

    Hi Ruchiran,

To cover the base, ensure that VLAN 2 is added to the database VLAN on the 3750. Simple by using the command "show vlan id 2", if it is not found, you must first create the VLAN 2 on the 3750.

Second, if you connect the same IP phone directly to the 3750 on an access port, vlan 2 unidentified, is the phone receives IP address as you hope?

Then, on the trunk of 3750 connection to the SX200. Building the trunk when using a command like "switchport trunk allowed vlan remove 1-4094," then build the trunk more precisely with the VLAN ' trunk switchport allowed vlan add 2 "who will score 2 VLAN port." "

On the SG200 switch, must be defined the trunk and VLAN Tag 2 on the port to connect to 3750 then the connection to the phone port should be 2 VLANS not identified as access port.

  • Cisco 1921 & SG500 VLAN and DHCP problem

    Dear all,

Thank you in advance for taking the time to read this.

    A little history:

I want to install a project for an athlete, which is unfortunately on a budget pretty tight with a potentially large quantity of network users (~ 200 without public WIFI). I need to separate the 5 groups of users and to give them all access to internet without see each other. 5 user groups also share the same bandwidth to the internet and VLANs must be controlled bandwidth.

To do this, I had planned to use Cisco devices built-in functions and buy a 1921 Cisco router as a switch of SG500.

I have configured the router for 8 subinterfaces is internal NIC with 8 VLAN. I also configured DHCP Pools 8 on the 1921 and set up NAT and firewall.

What I want to do now is have the SG500 to recognize the VLAN ID, I configured on the router (as well as on the switch using the same VLAN ID numbers), and then assign ports to the VLAN on the switch, and depending on where I plug into the switch, the device receives different IP addresses from DHCP.

However, I can't get this to work. The router works fine, the 'intact' if left switch gives me an IP address from the DHCP server on the IP address of higher network VLAN (I.e. 168.8.0). but I can not configure the switch ports correctly so that it works. I was also confused, is that dhcp pools that I have configured on the command-line command on the router do not appear in professional CP in the mask of the pool.

Can someone kindly check the configuration of the router and throw some guidance on how I need to configure the Ports on the SG500? I must say that I have had too many nights and I seem to confuse tagging, untagging, to exclusion and prohibiting the ;.)

I have the router for you here:

    Thanks again and good night!

    W.

Hi Wolfgang, for the sx500 configuration can be something like this

    config t

    database of VLAN

    VLAN 2-8

    int item in gi1/1/1

    switchport mode general

switchport trunk allowed vlan add 2-8 tag

switchport General disable filtering of capture

For any client that connects must be no tagged coelio

So if you want a client access port then you should do something like 5 unidentified to this port

    config t

    int item in gi1/1/2

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan 5

  • Cisco RV120W PPTP astronomers source IP address

I have a VoIP application that I am trying to run over the PPTP VPN tunnel on a router RV120W.

The system is a NEC SV8100 PBX communicate with the phone software NEC (sp310).  The system uses SIP to set up the call and for any other information signs.  It uses RTP to transmit/receive audio stream.

The problem I have is that there is no stream audio to the phone.  SIP communication and streaming audio to the phone works fine.  The symptom is: telephony, the remote side cannot hear you, but you can hear them.

I did a trace of the RV120W package and found the following:

No. Time Source Dest. Protocol Info
    948

    9.358957

    192.168.1.252

    192.168.1.52

    RTP

    PT = ITU G.711 PCMU, SSRC = 0x7F1621CA, Seq = 14361, time is 779040

    949

    9.359530

    192.168.1.1

    192.168.1.252

    RTP

    PT = ITU G.711 PCMU, SSRC = 0xE943F2E7, Seq = 19090, time is 3940936556

    RTP

    192.168.1.252-ONLINE NEC PBX

192.168.1.52 => soft phone connected via PPTP

    192.168.1.1-ONLINE RV120W

As you can see, the IP Source address differs from that of its origin 192.168.1.52 to 192.168.1.1.  PBX NEC expects the package to come from the softphone, (192.168.1.52) not the RV120W (192.168.1.1).  As a result, it ignores the RTP for telephony package and do not relay it to the remote side.

Is there a reason why the RV120W running NAT on PPTP packets?  Can it be turned off somehow?

    All ideas will be useful.

    Thank you!

  • Cisco NAC appliance - after a success does not change users to connect to the vlan propper

    Hello

I am new to cisco NAC BURNERS and I have to troubleshoot an implementation. It is a real OOB IP gateway configuration. Users can connect to the Pentecost the CCA, but after the connection of this success, they remain on the role not authenticated, as well as on this vlan. I checked the SNMP protocol and seems to work very well. Also, I checked the logs on nac_manager.log and there is nothing surprising, in fact I see nothing about this user or IP address that connects.

Also the user does not appear on the list of users online on cam.

Can someone help me figure out how can I fix? version 4.8, I'll post any information requested

    Thank you

We recently had the problem with Windows AD SSO and Windows 7 clients.

Would authenticate the XP clients very well, however, Windows 7 clients would not authenticate and will remain just on the authenticated vlan.

Our question was looking for CASE SSO account, we installed on AD. It only support the encryption, WHICH has no Windows 7 64. We turned off "Use OF THE encryption" on the account authentication UNIQUE AD and re-tested.

What are the parameters of the port-profile to which is applied the switchport?

What is the map settings vlan ports trunk not approved or confidence?

  • Having trouble getting the voice VLAN on the switch X1052P to work at all

Can someone help me understand how to set up the voice VLAN X1052P? I spent several hours trying to get this working and it does not work. I spent about 4 hours on the phone with a Dell technician that night and he couldn't get it to work and finally gave up. He told me that I had to spend my warranty to ProSupport because he did not know how to solve the problem. What group of *. It's a simple configuration of VLAN. What must be so picky about? In any case...

Setting up the VIRTUAL LAN must be fairly simple, but apparently on this switch is not. The user guide page 406 is not very useful except explaining what the different options. I must admit I am not an expert VLAN so I dunno I've misconfigured something. But remember, Dell technology could not operate either.

Here's my situation... I have VoIP phones on my network connected to a network wall jack. Connected to phones are my computers of users. The computer of the user and its respective VoIP phone, both share the same data cable. Before replacing Cisco managed Internet service provider spend all it worked well. The problem is that they had direct access to our network so I removed the switch and installed the X1052P in its place. I talked to the ISP to let them know what I'm doing and they said everything I had to do was setup VLAN ID: 15 for the voice VLAN because this is the VLAN ID that the router uses to route telephone traffic. Router PSI is also the server DHCP VLAN 15 and issues IP for phones using 172.27.0.0/24 with a DHCP 172.27.0.50 range - 150.

I tried to configure the switch using parameters of VLAN static and settings VLAN voice and neither one also seems to do what I want it to do.

Network administration > VLAN > VLAN static

Network administration > VLAN > Voice VLAN

I activated the profile 'phone' on ports I want to added to the voice VLAN and it does not work. Moreover, 47 the switch port is connected directly to the ISP router and is configured as a trunk with the default port VLAN 1 unidentified and tag VLAN 15. For other ports I tried the general implementation, access and trunk of the parameters on each port to see if I could get something going and still nothing happens. When I set up the ports as General ports VLAN, I made adding VLAN VLAN 1 and VLAN 15 as a VLAN tagged not marked. It still does not.

This is the short story from where I am now. Any help is greatly appreciated.

FYI, as a follow up I finally solved the problem. I hope this information helps someone else that can encounter the same problem.

After buying the ProSupport warranty upgrade ($121 out-of-Pocket mind you) and addressing a total of 4 technicians ProSupport expert technician a 3rd another level (only available via chat message between one of the ProSupport phone technicians and the 3rd Tier expert tech - i.e. I couldn't talk or chat with this person me) the consensus was that the material must be bad. When I bought the X1052P I bought two of them, so the best way to know if it was a bad switch was simply configure the other switch and see if the behavior occurs on this one, too. Well, this switch also restarted each time I assigned the profile 'phone' to more than 13 or 14 ports in the switch. It seems that it was not a hardware problem after all.

I went back to the switch original and tried new things hoping that I could fall on a solution and it turns out that the solution was NOT to use the voice VLAN on the switch. It does not work!

SOLUTION: I set the VLAN ID: 15 manually and no has not assigned any phone profiles to one of the ports. This is how I solved the problem.

So he has bad software on the switch. I tried to see if there are updates of the firmware on the Dell support site, but there is none. Configure manually the phone VLAN was the solution. What a freaking nightmare which turned out to be. Maybe someone in Dell could note this problem and test in-house. And, if you want to compensate me for the 20 + hours I spent working on this problem, which has be great, too.

  • VLAN Public IP assignment

    Hello everyone;

    Overview:

My ISP I provided more than IP address public block i.e. (192.158.13.1/24, 192.158.14.1/24) that I would attribute to my (Citrix XenServer) hypervisor via vLAN isolation & make available to my VMs to directly acquire public IP addresses.  (it's actually a requirement of the network I want to put in place).

I would like to know if this scenario is possible to implement via Dell 6224 L3 Switch.

    Network configuration:

-My ISP gave me a link power to my cart I use (I can assign any intellectual property of these two different blocks) which gave me.

-Currently the ISP link will my Dell Power Connect 6224 L3 Switch port 24 then will my port of XenServer 15 box

-J' got number of VLAN configuration of the switch which are represented on the XenServer port 15 so is trunk port.

    What I try to do

Since all virtual machines requires public IPs.

    1. the Dell switch creating VLAN 10 & 20 2

2 assign the public ip address to each vlan

    3. create rule of road on the foreword traffic crossing to the ISP router

    4. Add the vLAN 10 & 20-port 15 so my XenServer hypervisor can see incoming traffic.

    My current status

I am unable to do this work in that order, can anyone advice if the idea is correct the task or I have to design a different solution to work.

S1l if I go ahead and configure the general mode on port 1/g24 (I created VLAN local tag v10 & v20 instead of the ISP provided vlan ID). (correct?)

I would change your VLAN ID to match that those who use the access provider. If you set the general mode and tag VLAN 10 and 20, the port will send packets containing the tag according to the VLAN they came. But if the Cisco device does not know these VLANs, when it receives VLAN tagged packets, he used to know what to do with them.

So if said PSI on the cisco 192.158.13.1 device belong to VLAN 110, then on the 6224 change VLAN 10 to 110 of VLAN. so now that the port sends the packets marked to the Cisco, Cisco sees a package labeled for VLAN 110, Cisco has a VLAN 110 and he continues to pass the package on this VLAN.

T2 the command ip route 192.158.13.0 255.255.255.0 192.158.13.1 will forward traffic to vlan 10 outside via the 24 port because there vlan 10 tag. (correct?)

Because we use a general/trunk connection, the static route cannot even necessary on the 6224. The static route is used to help guide traffic to the next network hop. I set up without the static route first and see if you have connectivity. If this isn't the case, then look at the network settings on clients that connect to the switch.

    Devices in VLAN 10

    192.158.13.x = IP address

    Default gateway = 192.158.13.1

    Devices in VLAN 20

    192.158.14.x = IP address

    Default gateway = 192.158.14.1

Then, if still no try connection adding static routes.

Part of getting this work may come down to trial and error. It's always a little unusual that there is no other device between the 6224 and your ISP. PSI enjoys these cisco devices located in the building in which your material resides

  • Need help to set up voice VLAN in SG300

    Hello

I spent too much time on it now and need help. I'm trying to set up a voice switch VLAN on a SG300 - 28 p. I need to charge a phone Cisco 7965 connected to a port on SG300 - 28 p to use VLAN 100, and a workstation connected to the phone to use Cisco 7965 on VLAN 101 by SG300 - 28 p. In the common Cisco IOS switches, this task is configured as follows:

    interface gi25

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan 101

    switchport voice vlan 100

Trying to achieve this scenario with a Cisco SG300 switch turns into a nightmare. You will have to deal with a Dynamic of VLAN voice Auto Voice VLAN mode. Then, you must have a configured trigger and activated Automatic Smartport . I tried to do this in CLI nothing helps. Cisco 7965 receives an IP address of the access VLAN on Gi15 interface, which is 101 VLAN. I need to receive an address IP of the VLAN 100.

The current configuration under Gi15 interface is as follows:

    interface gigabitethernet15

    activate the storm control

broadcast storm control level kbit/s 10

    Storm-control include multicast

    port security throw trap 60

maximum port security by 10 points

    port security mode max-addresses

    spanning tree portfast

    LLDP-med disable

    switchport mode access

    switchport access vlan 101

    ! next order is internal

    macro auto smartport dynamic_type unknown $native_vlan 101 $voice_vlan 100

Now, I don't know how the macro auto smartport dynamic_type unknown $native_vlan 101 $voice_vlan 100 command in the config, and I do not know how to remove it.

When I try to enter the command macro auto smartport type ip_phone_desktop under Gi15 interface, I get the following error message:

The $voice_vlan macro setting is not configurable by the user

It seems that the auto attendant smartport macro ip_phone_desktop can not apply the setting $voice_vlan with a value of 100. In fact, I explicitly does not use this parameter to everything in the order of macro auto smartport type ip_phone_desktop ; However, the SG300 switch knows that the voice VLAN VLAN 100, and he's trying to use this VLAN ID as the value of the $voice_vlan parameter, the macro fails.

I tried statically configure the voice VLAN on the switch SG300 using the command id of the vlan 100 voice , but I couldn't get the ip_phone_desktop macro to configure interface Gi15 correctly. Then, I removed the command id of the vlan 100 voice and obtained SG300 to learn his voice VLAN ID of UC560 connected to the SG300 through a trunk port based on the port configuration (connected to SG300) for the trunk of the next UC560:

    switchport trunk vlan 101 native

    switchport mode trunk

    switchport voice vlan 100

    Cisco-switch macro description

This is the command switchport voice vlan 100 who announces to SG300 via CDP VLAN 100 is a voice VLAN. When I run the command show vlan local VoIP on the SG300, I get the following result:

VLAN ID - VPT DSCP Source MAC address Interface

    1                    5          46       default           ----                    ---

    * 100 CDP e0:5f:b9:xx:yy:zz gi28

Thus, it is clear that the SG300 receives information from UC560 via CDP in port Gi28 VLAN 100 is the voice VLAN. However, I can not always apply the ip_phone_desktop macro to SG300 Gi15 interface.

Also, I tried to set up vState ofoithis vlan auto-déclenché as well as the commands in global configuration State vlan automatic voice activated mode. Or setting changes anything view voice VLAN announced at Cisco 7965 where Cisco 7965 continues to use VLAN101 (access the VLAN assigned to the interface Gi15).

    Hello telecastle,

The Macro just get in the way most of the time. A default state on the switch a user will set the id of the vlan voice with orders

    (config) #voice vlan id 100

    * This will create the vlan 100

VLAN, VoIP? * You can use to change your defaults for dscp and cos a long with all the other settings.

State of vlan (config) enabled automatic #voice

    (config) #interface rank fa1-24

    (config-if-range) #switchport trunk vlan 101 native

    trunk (config-if-range) #switchport allowed vlan add 100

    * This function will define the vlan native on the trunk to 101 for the data port and vlan tagged will be 101 for the voice.

CDP is enabled automatically and should learn the features of the phone and get on the phone to the vlan 101 on this port.

CDP of the UC should automatically fill in the switch of the SG. You may need to upgrade the switch to the latest firmware however. Also make sure that the DHCP server for the voice if the CPU must be configured accordingly.

Let me know if this helps.

  • RV120W ROUTER/firewall "cannot display the webpage".

I have a small LAN using a T1 of One Communications line.  Static IP address.

30 workstations.  Windows 2003 DHCP server.

Installed new RV-120W firewall router last week replacing an old unit of Netgear.

Configure VPN tunnel on the unit, have remote access for about 10 users.

This part works well.  A little slow, but acceptable.

My question: is internet connectivity on internal LAN in and out.  She's very agitated.

Upload and download speed has been consistent (~2.5M/sec)

External Pings see the very minimal loss.

Users have seem intermittent loss of web streams and corrupt downloads.  web activity 90% is ok, but we continue then getting "cannot display the webpage error."

NSLOOKUP displays the DNS, but occasssionally "TIMEOUT" occurs.

I got the provider perform loopback tests and replace WIC on CISCO 1841 router T1, but I still see the behavior.

I see by reading other forms, that it is an ongoing problem with the routers of RV.

    My settings...

Public static IP / DNS on the router.

Reverses the MTU to 1500.  I have adjusted downwards by increment to 1350.

Windows Server 2003 has RV120W address as the router / gateway.

T1 to CISCO 1841 ROUTER... to CISCO RV120W... to LAN CISCO SLM248G interrrupteurs (2).

I do not configure all redirects the port.

I continue the line tests on my end, but as I said this problem was not existing with Netgear unit.

Please indicate any change of setting / suggestions.

    Hi Jason et al...

In my view, the technician are now experiencing a UDP on the Rv120W question.

    The internal discussions on the issue of R & D and development seems to be;

    1. default on RV120W a UDP Flood attack control that limit 25 UDP by customer connections in one case there, IE to a particular instance of time a PC behind the router can establish only 25 UDP Transactions, if we exceed router drops packets UDP.

    2. we have a script that sends dns queries to search at a very high pace that the router deletes the entries in the UDP, in this way, that we accumulate the UDP entry in the router table (IE 25 entries)

    3. once 25 limit is reached, we are unable to resolve DNS queries, in addition to using the script or by using the browser.

    4. in real-world scenarios it could be a PC behind the router and open a website where all the elements on the Web page are related to the different website, if you open this type of Web site, it may have links to over 25 different site and clog the table routers UDP for the PC and the user may not able to solve queries DNS additional and impossible of browse all new Web sites. This inability to browse happens until the UDP entries on the router time dead and are deleted.

    5. this limit of 25 is because of the feature called raw block UDP on the router that is enabled by default.

    6. once we disable the block UDP Flood, router does not check 25 connections limit UDP and dns resolution is continuous, without interruption.

This is a customers in the area could be to see breaks in the DNS resolutions and browse site failed.

Some customers talked explicitly about DNS failures.

Jason I see that you have placed a service call, so I hope that CCORAL who posted August 15 should be helping you.

So people, if the technician finds the problem not a hardware issue requiring an RMA, the technician will intensify the call for our people of level 2 in the Irvine case, probably CCORAL.  You will get a help to solve this problem.

The small business support center, should be aware of the problem. Please do not hesitate to show them this announcement, I am ready to discuss with them to get things moving.

Yet once, if you have not already done, please contact the HWC and place a request for service and keep a copy of this number they give you as a reference (you can need). My apologies for the inconvenience that you all had.

  • N3048 vlan trunk band guaranteed bandwidth

    Hello

Ive got 2 batteries of n3048 which will be connected by a link of fiber shds 1 Gbps, there are several local networks virtual on each stack and some of them I want trunk on the binding fiber.

an of vlan is for a balanced load diversely routed internet connection, there is a router on each site with 100 Mbps bandwidth, but also firewalls at each site that will be in the same vlan.

I don't want no internet to run slow because something is hogging the bandwidth on the shds, so the question is how can I guarantee 100 Mbps of traffic for vlan 10 through the shds with us other traffic crossing of vlan?

I have install other powerconnect switches and switches cisco with trunking VLANs between switches but I've ever done where I need to ensure a slice of bandwidth with QOS?

I'd appreciate any help or advice to achieve this

    Thank you very much

    Hi Daniel,.

Sorry for the late reply its been a bit choppy on other projects so just had time to test this out.

Here's what I ended up using in the config:

    Console (config) # class - match-all card VLAN_10_MATCH
    Console (config-WCPA) # match vlan 10

    Console (config) # VLAN_10_MARK policy-map on
    class console(config-Policy-classmap) # VLAN_10_MATCH
    Console(config-Policy-classmap) # brand cos 5

Console (config) # int item in gi1/0/48
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # classofservice trust dot1p
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # classofservice dot1p-mapping 5 3
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # cos - min - bandwidth tail 0 0 10 0 0 0 0
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # cos - queue strict
    Console (Config-if-X/Y/Z) # - political service on VLAN_10_MARK

I applied the same configuration for the trunk on two piles of switch port

Thanks for your help in pointing me in the right direction

I used jperf on 2 laptops in VLAN 10, 1 in each switch then your laptop on the other switch into a vlan with jperf mode server and 3 computers, send traffic using jperf him around the trunk and which seems to work well. ive tried run qos traffic vlan first and then maxing the bandwidth through the traffic trunk vlan qos not and then vice versa with traffic vlan qos to a already maxxed bandwidth through the trunk and he still gave him its bandwidth of 100 Mbps in both scenarios.

  • Newbie connection DELL 6248 pile to pile of CISCO 3750

    Hi all

I need to extend the desktop LAN by connecting a battery of CISCO 3750 existing a new pile of DELL 6248.

I intend to use the fiber/combo harbour in DELL 6248 to connect to the CISCO uplink port.

I want to use DELL port 48 but I saw there was 1/g48 and 1/xg48.  From memory, they are mutually exclusive.

Q1.  That means I'll just set up 1/g48 and do not enter the config of 1/xg48 of the sentence?

Q2.  To connect together the 2 batteries, devrais I defined just two ports to connect as a trunk port?  I have no experience in doing so.  FOR INFO.  We already use VLAN in piles CISCO and so the new DELL batteries must know about it.

Any help will be very appreciated!

Combo ports have a combined input and output of the PHY chip. Only the optical port or RJ-45 port can be used individually, but not at the same time. Any cable is connected will first use the port PHY. If the Ethernet port is used, you will configure with 1/g48, if fiber port is used then set up uses 1 / x 48.

Yes, you are right, a network connection is what you want between the two battery. Commands on the switch PowerConnect looks like this.

    Console > activate

    Console # config

Console (config) # interface ethernet 1/g48

    console switchport mode trunk #.

console # permit trunk switchport vlan add 2,3,4,5

On the PowerConnect 62xx switches, you must use general mode if you want to allow traffic from management on the switch on the PVID.  If you use the Trunk mode, you will not have the default VLAN on these ports.  The ports will only allow labeled traffic. So if the Trunk mode does not you, then switch to general mode.

As the pile of Cisco has already VLAN on it, we must ensure to the PowerConnect switch has those same VLAN. Here is an example of creating a VLAN on the PowerConnect switch.

    Console > activate

    Console # config

    Console (config) # vlan database

    VLAN console(config-VLAN) # 2

    output console(config-VLAN) #.

Console (config) # interface vlan 2

    Console # name Marketing

    Console # end

Another thing you may perform is place a static route to help the traffic at the back of the battery.

    IP route {network} {mask with joker} {Next Hop-IP}

    Console # config

    Console (config) # ip route 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.0.0.2

    Console (config) # end

    I hope this info helps,

    Thank you.

  • Captive portal RV120W?

    Hi all

Not sure if I'm posting this in the right way/area so sorry if I'm wrong.

Anyone know if there is anyway to run the captive portal on Cisco RV120W?

I have multi sites and launch it on the RV180W to one and have a site with RV120W and would like to mirror the site of 180.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Captive portal is not supported on RV120W or RV220W.

  • Several VLANS and DHCP relay on two stacked switch SGE2000-G5

We were put to the task of securing a small desktop system managed that is currently set up with a standard switch for each of the offices (with different companies) to see each other and in some cases, access to each of the other documents on the network.

Obviously, this is far from adequate set up and our goal is to isolate each office using VIRTUAL networks, but share a common internet connection provided by managed offices.  We have two switches for layer 3 Cisco SGE2000-G5, but we are new on Cisco equipment and VLAN, so we are not quite sure on how to implement this.  DHCP must be provided by a router, there is no server.  We are open to suggestions on the router as we still buy a.

I hope that someone may be useful.

    Thank you very much

    Jim

    Hi Jim,.

SGE2000 switches you are using must be able to handle this without issue. What type of router you are using? As long as you have a router that will take in charge VLAN / several subnets, it should be a simple configuration.

Here's a quick run down of the measures to be implemented. (using vlan1 and vlan2)

On the router, create a vlan / subnet 2 and set the port to connect to your shared resources with the two VLAN 1 and 2 switch. (it will be untagged, two will be marked)

On the switch, create vlan2 and do the same for the port connected to the router. (vlan1 marked and tagged vlan2)

Now for each switch port that you want to assign the port access and vlan1 and vlan2. (this vlan will be without a label)

If your router allows, disable routing inter - vlan. If this isn't the case, you must create rules to block traffic from one network to the other.

All this happens under the assumption that your router can support VLAN and can also make DHCP for this VLAN.

    Hope this information helps
