Cisco utilities - RHEL6

Hello

We are looking for install OS RHEL6 on our servers UCS B200M3. Does anyone have information on Cisco has everything similar RHEL6 utility for the following HP utilities:

  • hpacucli - utility CLI to configure the operating system RAID array
  • hpasmcli - display/game/change settings in the BIOS such as hyperthreading, control startup - to show the condition of the equipment, such as fans, power supplies, etc. - shows, repair and erase the IML - the ILO journal
  • hpbootcfg - to define which device to boot from the next time the system starts.
  • hponcfg - configure ILO/RILOE II from the operating system without requiring a restart of the server

Thank you very much, Paul

Hi Paul,.

For local disk to a server RAID configurations, we have the Manager of the UCS.

For viewing/creating/changing the BIOS settings, we have the Manager of the UCS.

To configure how a server gets started, we have the Manager of the UCS.

For the configuration of the OOB access, we have the Manager of the UCS.

All the utilities you mention require some additional programs/agents/etc should be loaded or included in the host operating system.  With UCS Manager, we require * zero * programmes/agents.    All the magic we do runs under the operating system - in the UCS Manager.

What happens when you use all the utilities above in a server HP environent?    Well, if ever the server fails, you need to manually reapply all the configurations you made, because these parameters are not really part of the 'server' that interest you.  Whereas, in an environment of UCS, if ever the server fails, then all you have to do is re - associate service profile with a different blade/rackmount.   Because in UCS, we don't "set up servers with settings" - we create servers with policies.   And these policies are used to define the 'server' - that you care - not just the hardware.

There are 2 main focal points: Service availability and minimizing the number of Management Points.   We are confident that we have a solution that is more attractive than HP in this regard.   And make our customer base 30 000 + (time expansion).

So to answer your question more directly-"Cisco UCS has a commercial dozen different server configuration to configure servers in a piecemeal way?"      -No, we don't, and that's the point.

I hope this helps.   Thanks for your question.    See you soon,.

-Jeff

  • Is there an SSH for Cisco LMS interface?

    Hello

Is there an SSH for Cisco LMS interface? Now when I try SSHing in I'm just met a guest for ciscoworks scp. I am trying to access so that I can add new devices by using the dcrcli command without having to RDP in the machine that is running on LMS.

In addition, is accessible for LMS api soap from the outside? I tried to make it work using soapui but ended up which put on hold after that I read somewhere else that the API is not available outside, I thought I'd check here if to see if it's actually true.

    Thank you

When LMS runs on one machine virtual ('soft machine'), ADE-OS based on Linux is exposed through ssh.

When LMS is running on a windows server, there is no interface to ssh for the application of the LMS.

In this case, the command line utilities are more or less accessible via a Windows command prompt that would require the native console or server access to the RDP.

The different functions available cli are detailed here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/net_mgmt/ciscoworks_lan_management _...

I've never seen someone try to use LMS via the API if you are in a very small set of users there. LMS being in its sunset, I wouldn't hold much hope for us to open.

  • Trouble getting a Cisco 2600 series AP to stay connected to WLC 5508

    Hello

I recently loaded the independent our old APs upgrade to LWAPs.  We have a WLC 5508 to our Virtual Co - Lo and I use Flexconnect to accommodate local switch and dhcp on our sites.  I have updated more than 50 APs and joined them to the controller.  These include only the 1130AG and 1240AG models.  However they work perfectly and stay connected to the controller.  I'm having is with a new batch of 2600 series APs stay connected to the controller.  I tried to do research in what may cause disconnect it but have yet to find a solution.  I use DNS to resolve queries for CAPWAP & LWAPP APs to the controller on our EXTENSIVE network.  Read other messages I thought that this is perhaps a problem with packages to drop but have had our provider that manages Sonicwalls at both ends of the WAN confirm for me that there is no packet loss.  Here are the logs that I collected through the puttty of the WLC & AP.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • integrated macOS Sierra Cisco IPsec VPN does not work anymore (impossible to validate the server certificate)

    Hello

I just upgraded to macOS Sierra and built-in Cisco IPsec VPN no longer works. When you try to connect, I get a "cannot validate the certificate of the server. "Check your settings and try to reconnect" error message. I use Cisco ASA with self-signed certificates and everything worked fine with previous versions of OS X.

Please help me, I need my VPN Thx a lot

I am having the same problem with StrongSwan and help cert signed with the channel to complete certificates included in the pkcs12 file imported to the keychain. It was working properly in El Capitan, but now broken in the Sierra.

  • Cisco VPN does not work in the Sierra

I just upgraded to OS Sierra and the Cisco VPN, I had the installer does connect more.  The Setup looks right into network preferences. When I click it looks like it is trying but stops without asking for a password.

Cisco VPN client may need to update or re-installed. If she uses the PPTP Protocol, it will not work. Support for PPTP was ignored, because it is no longer considered as secure.

  • Windows does not work after resizing partition in OS x disk utilities

    Hello

I tried to reduce the size of the OSX partition in order to increase the size of partition of Windows 7 and have been unable to start windows since. Bootcamp is grayed out in disk as disk0s3 utilities and I a unable to mount under OSX Bootcamp.

I tried to use sudo fdisk EI/dev/disk0 tutorial that I saw here as well, and allowed me to see Windows as an option when I start up the computer and hold the button ALT.  However, I get the error "Missing Operating System".

After that I tried to run repair to the system (including using diskpart to select the partition) but no luck with that. I really don't want to restore the Windows partition and lose files, so nobody knows what can I do to save my files and get windows to start?

Please after the release of the following OS X Terminal commands.

    diskutil list

    Cs diskutil list

    sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

    sudo fdisk/dev/disk0

    sudo dd if = / dev/rdisk0s3 account = 1 2 >/dev/null | hexdump - C

Orders 'sudo' will ask you your password, that are not displayed to you.

What is the year/model is your Mac?

  • Run the utilities from disk on machine with Yosemite Snow Leopard startup disk?

I have a 2009 imac that came with Snow Leopard. I've since updated my OS to Yosemite. Should I run the disc from my old snow leopard startup disk utilities or is it a bad idea?

It is not a 'bad' idea, but it is always best to use the version of disk utility which is part of the OS version installed. Do this by starting the computer from the Recovery HD.

Fix the hard disk and permissions

    HD recovery start

Restart the computer and after the chime hold the Order et R keys until the Menu of the utility is displayed.

    Repair

When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) entry of the list to one side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait for the process to finish, and then quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  • If I can do an Airport Extreme mobile network with a modem/router cable xfinity manufactured by Cisco?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?  The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

Can I create an Airport Extreme (current generation) network of roaming with a cable modem/router xfinity manufactured by Cisco (DPC3939 to be exact)?

Yes, if the Airport Extreme will be connected to the Cisco DPC3939 back using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

The modem-router Cisco/Xfinity put into bridge mode?

No. I you have done this, the Cisco/Xfinity device would only act as a simple modem... so it would not be a wireless service to all.

A note of caution here... the support document you are referencing... Wi - Fi base stations: install and configure a roaming network (802.11 a/b/g/n)... use the examples that are long outdated does not follow with the versions present on a Mac AirPort Utility or iPhone/iPad.

There are some good general information in the document.

  • What is the future of the RHEL6 for firefox?

I was curious, so I downloaded firefox 44 from the server every night. It does not work on RHEL6. Which made me wonder how long firefox will continue to be available to RHEL6. I searched, but I can't find a future roadmap OS compatibility. Surely one exists, somewhere.

How long firefox will support RHEL6?

I can not answer, but I noticed that the system requirements for Linux usually is expressed by specific versions of libraries and packages.

    So for Firefox 41:

    • Firefox won't work at all without the following libraries or packages:
           GTK+ 2.18 or higher
           GLib 2.22 or higher
           Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
           libstdc++ 4.3 or higher

    • For optimal functionality, we recommend that libraries or the following packages:
           NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
           DBus 1.0 or higher
           HAL 0.5.8 or higher
           GNOME 2.16 or higher

For Firefox beta (Firefox future, 42) there is a significant change for the first article:

    • Firefox won't work at all without the following libraries or packages:
           GTK+ 3.4 or higher
           GLib 2.22 or higher
           Pango 1.14 or higher
X.Org 1.0 or higher (1.7 or higher is recommended)
           libstdc++ 4.3 or higher

    • For optimal functionality, we recommend that libraries or the following packages:
           NetworkManager 0.7 or higher
           DBus 1.0 or higher
           HAL 0.5.8 or higher
           GNOME 2.16 or higher

Developer Edition lists the same requirements as the Beta.

It is without doubt a similar list for every night, but the download pages are organized differently and I do not see.

  • Is it possible to download a previous version of firefox that latest update blocks the characteristics I absolutely have to have for my cisco courses?

I can't get my password box or my java tool correctly load or work on the update for firefox java tool is something that I have to complete my work in my cisco course. So I would like to know if there is a way to download and install an older version of firefox, so I have something I can do my job without having to use a browser that I don't have confidence.

If you decide to try the version Extended Support Release (ESR) of Firefox, here is how I suggest to install:

    Clean reinstall it

We use this name, but it isn't about deleting your settings, this is to ensure that the program, files are clean (not incompatible, corrupt or exotic code files). As described below, this process does not disrupt your existing settings. Don't uninstall NOT Firefox, that does not need.

    (A) download a fresh Installer for Firefox 38.2.0esr of https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/all/ in an ideal location. (Scroll down your preferred language).

    (B) the release of Firefox (if any).

    (C) to rename the program folder, either:

    (Windows 64-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Fx40

    (Windows 32-bit folder names)

    C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

    TO

    C:\Program Files\Fx40

    (D) run the installer downloaded to (A). It should automatically connect to your existing settings.

    Install and run?

Note: Some plugins can only exist in the old folder. If it is missing something essential, present in these files:

    • \Fx40\Plugins
    • \Fx40\browser\plugins
  • FireFox 39 Incompatible with all Cisco devices

With the last update access to all devices Cisco via FireFox is no longer supported. Now, I get the following errors:

    The secure connection failed
An error occurred during a connection to [IP]. SSL has received a low ephemeral Diffie-Hellman key in the handshake message exchange the server key. (Error code: ssl_error_weak_server_ephemeral_dh_key)
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Contact the Web site owners to inform them of this problem.

Is there a way to roll back the version to avoid this or a permanent fix? FireFox is currently the only browser that works very well with Cisco devices, and now it won't work at all.

What happens if you set these false in two: config:

    Security.SSL3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha
    Security.SSL3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha

Are you able to connect with disabled ciphers?

  • Missing utilities after installing SSD and restoring from Time Machine

Today, I installed an SSD on my mid-2012 13 "MBP (Mavericks running) and then ran the restoration of service Time Machine to bring back everything that I used. All right, except that now I have discovered that Time Machine never backup my Utilties like disk utility, same Terminal is missing.

I have a bootable USB with the Mavericks installation app on it, but now if I run, it's going to destroy everything Time Machine has done to restore (my CC Adobe apps and plugins, for example)? I would upgrade to El Capitan, but I use an old Wacom which does not have the drivers for the last OS X, so I'm stuck for now (do not want to buy a new Wacom immediately).

Any ideas on how I can get these dos utilities without using the re - install or upgrade process? I watched the old backups TM and they aren't there either.

You will have to reinstall the operating system to get the dos utilities.

Start of recovery volume (command - R on a restart, or hold down the option/Alt during a restart and select the Volume of recovery). Run the check/repair disk utility and repair permissions until you get no error. Then re-install the operating system.
