Cisco WRVS4400N - Intermittent freezing
Hello!
I have looked through the forum to find answers to my problem, but doesn't look like I'll find.
The problem:
Router freezes randomly.
When this happens:
-No IP/DNS
-No response to ping
-No contact at all (wifi or cable)
Works fine after reboot for awhile.
General information:
Firmware version:
V2.0.2.1 - ETSI
Local newspaper after the restart:
More information needed to find the solution to the problem, just ask.
Hi Steven, DDOS is Distributed Denial of Service. It is a flag of the attack. This is probably a false alarm. But, if this is the first cause of your router, lock up, it's probably IDP engine failed or the KRIS has locked up.
The cause is probably impossible to say. A few things you can try to check also
- Disable the IPS and the monitor for logging and behavior
- Disable the firewall of the router and the monitor for logging and behavior
Among the possible causes can be
- Condensation at the breast of your lines (coax cable ISP) or damaged wiring of ISP (broken wire, bad resistance)
- Swap cables cat local LAN
- Many flood UDP of LAN (this can hit counter DDOS on IPS or firewall)
- You have a combination modem/router (from the ISP) unit packets does not present well

Intermittent freezing of the computer when opening programs
Hello. I have intermittent freezing problems which I will try to describe. About 5 to 7 times a week I click on a link like Comcast Mail Office.
The 'think' rotation slider will begin, the page does not load and then a message appears after a minute or two for example 'Windows cannot find Comcast.net' the only way I was able to solve this problem is to restart with the power-it button does not restart by using the standard method. I pretty much can do nothing until I restarted and then the computer works well. Comcast has tested the modem and the connection and says it's ok.
The issue occurs at random times. It happens more frequently when I begin a session, but it froze several times while I'm running an application or are already on the internet. I performed the tests in the pc tools and things seem ok. I have 3 GB of ram and a measure of consumption on my desk that indicates normal operation.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. It is far from aggravating and barely embarrassing, but I would like to know the cause.

Please see the following thread (even if it is a different issue, some of the troubleshooting steps are the same):

I have a MBP mid-2012. I recently had problems with a sign prohibitive blinking at startup but it would still proceed to start the operating system very well. I recently tried a clean install of El Capitan only to see that the problem was MUCH worse. After several new installs of El Capitan and Yosemite attempted to boot disks as well as on top moved after the recoveries of the internet, I have not solved yet completely the problem. I also tried to reset NVRAM and SMC.
Currently I'm running Yosemite and have restarted, there 3 or 4 times without prohibitive side. I didn't let her go to sleep so I don't know if this problem persists. I always get a casual beach ball, but the computer is still sensitive semi. i.e. finder will be insensitive and programs won't load, but I can still move between open programs. This usually takes between 10 and 30 seconds. Occur less frequently in low demand.
I'm afraid that my hard drive is failing, but I don't have any other evidence to support. I also heard that the sata cable could also be faulty. Is there something else that is maybe I should check/perform before ordering new parts? Is there anyway to check if it is really the reader or cable? The problem is not consistent and hardly repeatable. But it is quite common that I need to fix it. Also would like to have at least the option to upgrade the operating system one day.
Thank you
You could try the operation of an external device, to see if it could be memory or some other component.

Cisco Wrvs4400n V2 DDNS does not update when IP address changes.
Hi, I have two routers Wrvs 4400n V2 VPN (V2.0.2.1 - ETSI) in different countries, one in the United Kingdom and Australia. They are connected permanently using the IPSec VPN tunnel and the dynamic DNS feature (DynDNS.org). I found that the router to the United Kingdom does not refresh its IP address automatically to dns Web site when the provider of Internet services in the United Kingdom changed the WAN IP of this router. This makes the IPSEC tunnel go down until I have the phone UK location and ask someone to force the router to update its IP address with dyndns, by restarting it or by using the configuration of routers for re - save the password for the dynamic dns. Does anyone else have this problem? Someone at - it information / suggestions that can help me solve this problem.
Thanks for your time,
Kind regards
Jason.
Hi Jason,
Have you changed the password on the Web site, but not in the DDNS of the router config?
Do you use special characters in the password to the HTTP transmission ineligible?
Have you changed the DynDNS host name on the site, but not on the router?
Try to change the password of the account (and update the configuration of the router to use the new password).

Applications of Terminal Server remote as Quickbooks, QQ Evolution, attendance RX serve also the location has by users to the location B
The login is your time and all applications are extremely slow.
I tried to copy files between share data between two locations and the results are as follows
Location A to location B-> 130 Kbps 140 Kbps
Location location B A-> 150 Kbps to 160 Kbps
What can be the problem for these poor performance VPN?
-Change the encryption for the least secure OF THE /MD5 would have a significant impact because it can reduce the overload on the routers?
-Even if both routers are routers SMB, it has really good VPN flow according to the data sheets. I couldn't find VPN flow mentioned in the WRVS4400N data sheet. One of the sons of CSC, I also noticed the VPN of WRVS4400N flow seemed really low as only about 1.6Mbps. (https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2107881) Whereas RV220W router has VPN 90Mbps flow, according to the datasheet.
So, what can be the cause of the problem and what can be fixes possible?
Help, please!

Beginner to router Cisco VPN, please help
RVS4000 was designed to work in a small office. It supports 5 VPN tunnels with a maxium of 2 Mbps flow measured in a laboratory environment. It has a processor that has a motor integrated IPS, who would deliver 20 Mbps LAN - WAN throughput when IPS is enabled.
RV220W has been designed to operate in a slightly larger office with 25 IPsec VPN tunnels. It has a processor that has a built-in cryptographic engine able to deliver throughput 90 Mbps of IPsec. RV220W also supports 5 SSL VPN tunnels that can be used by employees and business partners for remote access.

Satellite Pro 6100 freezing completely - help someone!
My 6100 intermittently freezes completely, I'm hard stop pressing / stop button for 6 seconds. Cannot ctrl + alt + delete or whatever it is.
Thought that this may have been a virus or another fault, so I saved and rebuilt from scratch using the recovery disk... and it just happened again!

Hello
It could also be an overheating problem. In this case, I recommend to check the cooling fans. Fans can not work properly because of the dust. Try to clean the fans with the hose of the vacuum cleaner. If it doesn't solve the problem of freezing so I suggest you contact Toshiba service in your country

Explorer freezes again Satellite M105-S3084
This is a new (1 week) Satellite M105-S3084 running XP MCE with 2 G of ram and Intel duo T2050. I'm having a problem with Explorer solutions (files & folders, not IE) freezing intermittently, sometimes take 10-20 seconds before I take control, other times requiring a reboot.
I am virus and malware clean (Avast, Ad-Aware SE, Sbybot, etc...) and uptodate on all Windows updates.
I checked the support from Toshiba, but could not find any solution. (PC, perhaps too recent). I think that sometimes fingerprint reader software is causing a similar problem, but not sure if it's the same thing. I would like to uninstall the software of fingerprint reader (which I do not use because it is not secure) but can't find it under applications to add/remove to uninstall.
Any suggestions on how to solve this intermittent freezing that seems related to Windows Explorer?
I assume you have the American portable model. I heard that the similar problem was with IE, but it is fixed, if I remember correctly, with a new fingerprint reader software. Download page to check U.S. under http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_home.jsp

Satellite P840 Win8 - touchpad stops intermittently to answer
Hi, I got my new laptop for 24 hours, and that I have lived two times a situation whereby the touchpad no longer permanently, by requiring that the computer be reset (which ' solve' the problem). In addition to this, I experienced intermittent freezes in response for 3-4 seconds, then it starts to answer again.
It's brand new, so it's quite disappointing. This happened to someone else and if so, is there a solution that does not involve returning to the unit?
See you soon,.
PeteHello
Have you noticed the same using a USB mouse connected?
I m asking this because from my point of view, could the touchpad or the system freezes for a few seconds due to stresses the CPU.In many cases the response of the system doesn t because some processes that run in the background stresses the CPU, which leads to such system gel.
I wouldn't worry this check if the system is up-to-date and if all updates are installed.
In the event that this question would not be bound to the mentioned background process, try to update the driver for the touchpad.
Check the page of the Toshiba UE driver in order to get the latest touchpad driver or visit the page of the Synaptics driver for the driver directly from the manufacturer of touchpad page. -
WRVS4400N slowing down my internet connection of 100 MB
Hello
I have a Cisco WRVS4400N on the latest firmware and I just had my Virgin internet connection set to level to the 100 MB. Once I thought it was put at level I checked with a broadband speed test and she is back in the download 15 MB and 5 MB download. Before I rang Virgin I thought I would check with a direct link to my pc directly to the modem. Ran the speed test and it came back in the download of 100 MB and 5 MB download. I thought that the best thing to do is to restore my settings back to the factory and its still the same. I was wondering if anyone can help?
Thank you

Slow, Internet high speed, if I connect to my desktop via router WRVS4400N PC
I bought a Cisco WRVS4400N. Which is highly recommended by my friend IT. In my office, I have a local telecommunications fiber-optic connection, which is 100 Mbps download and upload 40Mbps.
If I connect to the Internet taken directly into the computer, it flyes to 100 Mbps when I test on speedtest.net. When I connect to internet with the Cisco router and therefore farther from router on my desktop, it slows down to 25Mbps. I think there should be some sort of restriction inside the modem configuration. I don't know how to overcome it. Perhaps someone knows how to remove all the distracting security and other setings from inside my Cisco have the full flow of the internet.
Thanks, Martin
