Classic report - "BOLD" of the 1st line of detail of each break

I have a classic report based on an sql:

Select
'LOCATION ',.
"DEPTNAME",.
"MODEL_NUMBER,"
"FIRSTNAME."
"LASTNAME."
Sum (decode("category",'CAD',1)) CAD,
Sum (decode("category",'Desktop',1)) desktop computer,.
Sum (decode("category",'Portable',1)) Portable
from 'table1 '.
Group
'LOCATION', "DEPTNAME", 'CATEGORY', 'MODEL_NUMBER', 'FIRSTNAME ',.
'LASTNAME '.
Union
Select
'LOCATION ',.
"DEPTNAME",.
"" as "MODEL_NUMBER."
"" as "FIRSTNAME."
"" as "LASTNAME."
Sum (decode("category",'CAD',1)) CAD,
Sum (decode("category",'Desktop',1)) desktop computer,.
Sum (decode("category",'Portable',1)) Portable
from 'table1 '.
Group
"LOCATION',"DEPTNAME","CATEGORY"," "
order by 1 ASC, ASC 2, CSA 3

while I have the total of break on the 1st line and the details below.

For example,.

Human resources New York 2 1 0
Model a Joe Smith 1 0 0
Model B John Wayne 1 0 0
Model B Jim Jones 0 1 0

I want the 1st line (i.e., total of break) to be bold and normal detail lines. How can I easily do that. I looked at the model and I couldn't understand how to differentiate the two types of lines.

Can someone please help.

Thank you in advance,
Robert

Hi Robert,.

In the two parts you select statement, you could add in a dummy flag - 1 for the first statement and 2 for the second. Then create a new report based on your existing model. You must define at least two models of row and Conditions - each having the same content, but with a bold style. The condition for the "BOLD" would be ' #FLAG #' = '1' and the second one would be ' #FLAG #' = '2' - you should probably add a third party unconditionally, just in case the use of the model not fat

    I added the following code in the header of the first column:

  • How do to "BOLD" in the first line of text on a number of sections of text at a time

    CS5 using (but we have CS5

    .5 available) we will create a business directory. Each page has columns of type

    business listings with the company name on top, under this address under this phone, etc.  Each ad is separated

    by a single line. There are thousands of ads, and we need to "BOLD" in the top line of each. How can do us

    without making them individually?

    Each line a paragraph, or each list a paragraph with soft returns (forced line breaks)?

    It's very simple and basic in both cases an operation. It is especially easy if each ad has the same number of lines, so we will focus first with this case.

    Each line should be a separate paragraph. If you have 4 lines, as your example, you might want to mention their name, street, city, and phone. You can and should, all the styles that will be similar in appearance on the same basic model and change only the atrributes that are different, so, for example, if all lines use the same font, many use the same size and weight and only the top line is different and only by being "BOLD" and or larger size start by defining the street, then city and phone based Street and you don't need to define something more than the next Style, I'll get to in a second.

    For topics, set name based as well on the street, but change the font characters. Now all the features of the basic fonts can be changed in one place, the definition of the style Stree.

    Since you have the same number of lines in each list, you can set up a loop "next style". For name, style next street is, the street is the city, for the city it is the phone and is name for the phone. You will also need to toe after the add space in the name, or space on the phone to book spaces registration and you probably also consider to assign everything except phone keep with the next line to prevent a list from breaking across a page or column break. If currently you have blank lines as separators (empty paragraphs), get rid of them. There are change queries find already registered in ID that will do that.

    Once the text is in place and the styles are defined, you can select all, then right click on the style name in the paragraph Styles Panel and choose apply following Style and name. Reformatted your entire list. IT IS CRITICAL in this method that the structure of each list is identical, and if there are no empty lines between the lists.

    If each line is a paragraph, but there is line different counts, you will probably reach with just two styles, one for the headings oand one for everything else, but the beat of following style will not work. If there is something unique that appears in all the headings you can use find/replace to make search and reformat in shape, but I suspect that this will not be the case on in the real world, there will be a manual work involved.

    Where a lisitn is a single paragraph, line break forced (which is better suited to the case of an uneven lines by registration number) you can define a character style nested to be applied by means of a line break forced to make the first line "BOLD", red or any other thing you want.

    At this point, you are probbly, noting that a bit before planningn is a good idea when you do a directory so that your ads have some sort of coherent structure that allows for automation. I have no idea whre that your text is coming from or how it is done in the code. If it can be established as a .csv or a tab-delimited text file, you can use data merge to fill a file based on a model of merge (i.e., how to build directories for my clients who need). You can set styles in the model to each field or paragraph that contains several fields, and merge data will remove empty lines if all row fields are null and there is no punctuation or whitespace on the line.

    A multiple records per page fusion will give you individual blocks of text for each record, and you can, if you wish, thread them using the script text point of Rorohiko.com.

  • Select the line of the classic report to pass the value to another classic report on the same page

    Hello

    First a few details about the environment - I use the image of the last download oracle VM developer days to oracle.com. This includes DB version 12.1.0.2 and version 4.2.5.00.08 Apex. For the question although I don't know the specifics of the versions that are relevant.

    What I want to do an apex page which includes an analytical section at the top, followed by a section of retail slot - a line is selected / highlighted at the top which causes the relevant lines in this summary line is displayed. Its screen basically a master-detail - however the source of these two sets of data is just a query - is not a table.

    The query at the top of the page is something like

    Select * summary

    and the section below is

    Select * from details where id = (the value of the id clicked in the summary above)

    This feels like it should be really easy (and indeed, it is for the tables through the apex of master-detail Wizard) - but I can't understand when the two sets of data are the result of queries.

    I can't seem to make reference to the elements of the page when it comes to a report and I think that I might need to go down a kind of dynamic route of actions and jquery, but I don't get very far very fast. I found some notes that seem similar, but nothing which does exactly what I want. The function APEX_APPLICATION to browse a table also doesn't seem to be possible for the output report that I could see (tags are not there) - what is relevant for the forms?

    I hope that I have explained that quite simply.

    Can anyone help?

    See you soon,.

    You link column can be just a null value in the sql code, if you want. Change the column and head down to the link attributes.

    Text link: "Click me" (source of sql using #MY_COL columns or #)

    Target: URL

    URL: javascript: $s ('P1_ITEM', #ID);

    Then have onChange dynamic action on P1_ITEM which updates the State. Do not forget to present the value of session state (either property right under the sql or pl/sql prior to update action report). The database needs to know the value of browser before running the query.

  • How to extract values of classic report column in the text element

    Hi all

    I've created a classic report (select id, name,' < input type = "button" value = "add" id = "add" name = "add" > "as" add details "details ;) with a single column as column values want link.i in the text element when I click on the link of that particular record of the report)

    (1) in the link this link column property I've specified the URL as [javascript:insert_in_table(#ID#,#NAME#)]

    (2) text two article P_ID, P_NAME

    (3) in the header of the page, I've specified as javascript

    < script type = "text/javascript" >

    var regId = ' #detail #'.substr (1);

    var req = new htmldb_Get (not null, $v ('pFlowId'), 'APPLICATION_PROCESS = add', $v('pFlowStepId'));

    pl/sql: insert into name_detail (id, name) values (: P_ID,: P_NAME)

    now the problem is I m not getting the values of column in the report in the text element, it only shows white.

    Kind regards

    Ketan

    Hello Ketan,

    Assuming that you want to insert the values into the table, this is why you want to set values for the element,

    If this is the case, then no need to define values for the element to insert.

    Follow the steps below, it is one of the embodiment of your condition.

    Step 1: Put the code below in your classic report query

    assuming that the id is of type number and the name is of type varchar, that's why I am attaching the name to apostrophe, see line 3

    select id
         , name
         , '' as "Add to detail"
    from detail

    Edit 'Add details' column-> column attributes-> view-> column of Standard report

    Step 2: Create a process in the processing of the Page

    Name: INSERT_DATA

    Address the point: on demand, run this process when requested by ajax

    Process: putting the code below

    Declare
      P_ID number ;
      P_NAME varchar2(50);
      Begin
          P_ID   := apex_application.g_x01;
          P_NAME := apex_application.g_x02;
          insert into name_detail(id,name) values (P_ID,P_NAME);
    End;

    Step 3: Create a java script function to call your insert ajax process.

    Change the Page-> the function and the global variable declaration-> put the code below

    function insert_in_table(id,name) {
      apex.server.process ( "INSERT_DATA", {
          x01: id,x02: name
      }, { success: function( pData ) { }
      });
    }

    Hope this helps you,

    Kind regards

  • Bug in the classic report based on the function?

    A simple example, suppose I want a classic report in which I can change the sort field by selecting in the P1_SORTFIELD element. Apex 4.2, I was able to implement the report using the PL/SQL function

    return "select ENAME, SAL from EMP by | : P1_SORTFIELD;

    I can't do that in Apex 5 on my workspace apex.oracle.com. I either get a runtime error "SQL command not completed property" if I use generic column names, or 'not all variables' if parse error I do not have.

    My real application use generic column names, so I am more interested in a solution to this.  For example, I tried to create a report with the source

    return "select ENAME from EMP by ENAME;

    If I run using the generic column names I always get the runtime error "command SQL not successfully completed.

    Is this a bug?

    Ed Sciore

    Hi Ed,

    I ran your application in debug mode and displays the following error output.

    show report
    determine column headings

    ...Execute Statement: select ENAME, SAL from EMP order by ename
    order by 1 nulls last

    Logging exception:

    ORA-06512: at "APEX_050000.WWV_FLOW_DYNAMIC_EXEC", line 411

    See the other "order by null 1 last" that is added to your statement. This is what the origin of the problem. The additional order by is caused by the "Sortable" indicator enabled for your columns. If you disable the sort, because will work you who control in your SQL statement in the report well.

    I'll take a look tomorrow, if we had a different behavior in 4.2 to automatically disable these flags and how it is actually easy to determine safe at the time of the design that your pl/sql function returns a SQL statement with an ORDER BY clause.

  • Classic report that spans the page loading

    4.2.1

    Hi all

    I have two classic reports side by side, based on a somewhat expensive query that returns a number of lines (500) also, we have a box of research and other filters to work on this report. However, the problem is that when the page loads, since the reports run sequentially, the first report on the left side, extends all the way to the right for a few seconds before returning to the right size. I guess this happens because then the second report query (right) runs and pushes the left up. Is there a way to fix the two classic reports width such that it does not stretch on page load?

    Region change and put css in the attributes of the region to set the size of the region

    style="height:300px;width:500px;"

    or you want scrolling of fixed size, if your report has no more. columns fit more in the size

    style="height:300px;width:500px;overflow-y:auto;"

  • The encapsulation of text in a classic report, bleeding in the next row with the report header template fixed.

    Hi all

    Report Header fixed

    (25 and 26 theme)

    I have a classic report, and I use the fixed header template.

    If I set the width of a column unless the width of the text in the column, then the data encapsulates as it should, but instead to increase the height of the cell in the row to greet him, he bleeds into the rank and writes on the following lines.

    If I change the report to the standard model, it wraps correctly and increases the size of the cell to accommodate the text.  Not sure if it is a bug, or Im definition something wrong.

    If anyone can help to give advice on how to solve this Id be grateful.

    This is because of rules CSS theme on cells and rows in the report fixed header table:

    {table.uReportFixedHeaders > tbody > tr}

    display: block;

    height: 28px;

    }

    {table.uReportFixedHeaders > tbody > tr > td}

    padding: 4px 8px;

    border-top: 1px solid #DDD;

    border-bottom: none;

    line-height: 20px;

    }

    I wouldn't really classify it as a bug, more as a hypothesis that the model would be used with data that will not be returned on multiple lines in a cell.

    It is easily fixed by substituting equal to line of table and the row height of the cells in the Inline CSS page, as indicated at page 586:

    {table.uReportFixedHeaders > tbody > tr}

    height: auto! important;

    }

    {table.uReportFixedHeaders > tbody > tr > td}

    line-height: inherit! important;

    ROWID r_id

    Of...

    If you change the column for button1 and navigate to the area of column formatting you can create your button here, in several different ways.  You will need to play with the way you prefer.  See below:

    or or you could use and apply css of your theme.

    You create also two buttons in a single column.  From here you can reference columns in your selection by using the format #COLUNMNAME # (as I did with R_ID).

    Then, you will need something similar for all columns that you want to be able to recover when you click the buttons.  See below:

    -It would be Data1 column

    #DATA1 #.

    You would do this for each column that you want to access click the button as shown above.  You can skip this step and use jquery to iterate through the DOM using the. closest() and. find() and give each column a separate class.  Is your preference.

    You then create a dynamic action, when it is clicked on .button1.  Now that you have this object, you can get the id of the trigger object that would be your r_id and from here you can access all your individual data points (all this in a JavaScript in the dynamic action) and assign to items hidden on your page.  The next step in this dynamic action, you could run pl/sql and transmit the page elements.

    Hope that all of the senses.

    As a bit of clarification: the r_id column does not have to be rowid, but it must be unique for each return line.  You can use your primary key or rownum.  Just what works for your scenario.

  • Any way to automatically adjust the 1st line of the text of "raise" for the initials when necessary?

    Or maybe a script?

    Example:

    You have a paragraph that begins with a word starting with a dropcap A. I wish that the first line of "raise" to be closer to the top of the a. really the letter A is the only one who really needs. With the help of Sabon. I realize that each letter is different, but in a book it would save a lot of time if there is a style/script to do this. I use CS6.

    Thank you

    SL

    It should not affect the two lines. Doesn't work for me. Only the first line.

    The first line is:

    DropCapgracesecondLetter

    If set you the kerning between grace and secondLetter, only the

    first line is affected. This is the point of adding hair space

    (Type > insert white space > space hair)

    If you don't add the hair and just go ahead and add negative

    kerning between the drop cap and the second letter, then indeed the two lines

    are concerned.

  • Smoothing the rough lines? (Details in the post)

    Hi all. Thanks in advance I spill the details.

    I hand draw my art. After the scan it, I use the trace function in Illustrator with a value of 2 usually, blur then pull upward in Photoshop to touch up the lines.

    My dilemma is: how to smooth out the lines in my designs? What I did with SOME success is from the return PSD file in Illustrator, make some blur again, then back to Psalm

    In addition, I have attached a sample of a scanned drawing. If you guys/girls have a better and more simple way to smooth out the lines, I'm all ears.Scan0001.jpg

    Thank you!

    Howdy.

    Beautiful technique, Noel.

    Chewingcow: I don't know what you want to do with your image. If you need a line made without much editable, technical Christmas looks great. But if you want maximum editability, jump to Ps and learn to do it in Illustrator. If you check the forums Adobe Illustrator, the limitations of automatic Trace are a frequent topic. If the results you get need a trip to the Ps to get cleaned up, you might reconsider using Auto Trace. The big dogs world Illy always recommend to avoid Auto Trace and recommend instead followed by hand, using the pen tool. More you do it, you get faster. Of course, Illy has simple tools to create the geometric pieces.

    I know not how much you know about Illy, but in the time it takes to move back from Illy to Ps, you could probably recreate it from scratch in Illustrator. And have a fully editable and extremely scalable vector image.

    I made tracing below using the pen, with the exception of a circle tool, which I did with the Oval tool. It took only a few minutes.

    I kept going, and 20 minutes later, the drawing is converted to outlines. Twenty minutes is not a long time your art to speak. Especially when you consider where this 20 minutes gets you. From there, the rest is gravy.

    The foregoing has a stroke applied to paths. But if you want it to look more hand drawn, you can apply a brush instead of a stroke. There are tons of brushes in Illy, and it's easy to create your own. You can apply a brush that makes lines look smooth or rough. With a single mouse click, the image above looks like the image below. It seems tougher than the original. You can make it look like it was drawn with a pencil or a pen of calligraphy if you want.

    Or you can apply the color. Mouse over just a few clicks. One of the bazillion of opportunities.

    It is well worth your while to vectorize your art in Illustrator. It allows the same artwork as anything a business card for a T-shirt to a wrap of the car at a billboard of output. PS, not so much. There is a reason that illustrator is called Illustrator and Photoshop called Photoshop.

    But, if you really want to use Ps (this is the Ps forum, after all), I used to scan stuff hand drawn in Ps all the time. But I've rarely analysed in full compositions as in your example. I scanned in pieces and assembled with other art created in PS. My process is quite simple.

    I used the quick selection tool to select the Africa.

    Then, using the palette traced, I converted the selection to a vector using the command create a track work with tolerance set to 1.5. I usually put it entre.8 and 2, depends on the resolution of the image and a contrast. Fill and stroke have been applied. The form is not quite perfect (image of low resolution, blurry drawing are less accurate quick selection tool. The sharper your drawing, the better it works.), but it can be changed by using the vector tools in PS. I add Madagascar to the layer of Africa and organize other forms in appropriate laters. Build the image in this way, you get maximum editability. Not as good as Illustrator, but I made this way for years before I'm Illy.

    For what it's worth.

    Peace,

  • Sort a hyperlink column in the classic report

    4.2.1

    THM2:

    Hi I have a classic report with a hyperlink column. And I need enable sorting on this. What I did is

    Select '< a href = "somelink" >' | party_name | "< /a > ' party_name party_name table.

    However, I just need to show the hyperlink column in the report. Couple of questions

    1. How can I create party_name-based sorting logic using the updated classic sorting standard? Given that all a hyperlink names begin with < - sorting is random. I added the second party_name column an active by default sort on it, but given that the column can not be shown, is not a good way.

    2. I was wondering if there is another way to sort this classic report hyperlink column as shown in the hyperlink and sorting is enabled on the report?

    Thank you!

    Hi Fac586 - Yes, the requirements are not of the same report. We have several pages with the same type of aspect, however, some of them have a different feature. In this case, Yes, I too simplified it so that easier to understand. I use the hyperlinks on query sql rather that the link of the column is because we have about 5 unions in this query from different sources and each of those interviewing him, having a hypertext link and additional formatting like "BOLD", color etc, under certain conditions. Query1 will return only the party_name, the second query United would have hypertext links, the third would fat etc. The union of the request is not made to take into account this feature, but because of the nature of the data.  While the apex feature works very well, the only question I hit is the hyperlink column sorting in a classic report. Where the simplified question. Individual responses, I've had have been very useful and have been applied successfully.

    In this case, the request for a classic report that has column link, how to sort would work it would be on a regular character column.

    Option 1 (deeply inelegant): Generate an HTML comment containing the sort at the beginning of the column value. The value must be sortable using the character comparison semantics, so dates must follow the format YYYYMMDD, numbers padded to the same length with zeros etc: Re: problem with the Date command

    Option 2A: Expand the Expression HTML technique described in your previous thread (marking dynamically of columns in a "BOLD" for the highest value report) to include the tags.

    Option 2b: Use the HTML Expression technique described in the previous thread to include custom data attributes and use these to add links to dynamic actions.

    If this is done on several pages, and then create a view all the necessary logic and the columns which you can keep it in one place.

  • make the first line of each paragraph "BOLD"

    Hi all

    I read this forum, but I can't really find the answer, I need.

    Here's my problem, we intend to automate the flow of text in our Organization, that's what I have to do

    -read the input from the story of a database

    -flow text into a text box in particular for example 4.5 cm wide

    -each paragraph will be had 2 new lines

    -Select the first line of each paragraph then putting in bold.

    in the above list, I can do everything except the first paragraph selection and putting in bold. I am looking for the selection of text I see there is a function called textframe.select?

    Can someone help me with this please?

    This severely reduced your options. (Which reminds me, you can specify a detail important like that from the beginning the next time.)

    The simple solution would be to apply your "BOLD" font (or better: a character style) in the first line of each paragraph by using the property of a paragraph .lines. UH customary ‑‑ link to the HTML version of the omitted OMV, it seems I'm not coming back as much as CS2... (Is there a CHM for it to http://www.jongware.com/idjshelp.html).

    This should work:

    App.Selection [0] .paragraphs [0]. Lines [0] .appliedCharacterStyle = "YourBoldCharStyle";

    ... With your cursor in the paragraph you want to change. Will adjust to meet your specific needs.

    There is a drawback of the simple method. Unless you use a special police who makes bold with the same width as her (quite rare) usually, the text will be redistributed after he applied. So there are one or more words in bold on the next line, so you must remove the tank style "BOLD" of those. But! At that time InDesign may determine that these non-bold words may go back on the first line!

    Well written code does not help, because it could be possible the same word oscillates backwards with each change between the first and the second line, each time to cheat... At * some * point you'll have to help the poor ID a bit; perhaps to fix this first line with No Break applied.
