clean install of Windows 7 64 bit
Hello
I have a 9440CTO Z61t, T5500 CPU, 3 GB of RAM.
I would like to replace my 60 GB SSD HARD drive and do a fresh install of Win7 64 bit DVD. Is this feasible? Is supported BIOS v3.03 Win 7 64 bit?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I was able to install W7 on Kingston ssdnow SSD V300.
I found on the Lenovo forum that someone did a similar facility on its X 60 machine. Turns out that my Z61t uses the same Bridge South chip that is Intel ICH7-M.
George, thank you very much for your comments.
Best regards

(64-bit capable) 32 bit Vista Home Premium... I can do a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit professional?... from a flash drive?... to change the boot order?... or at all?
Hello
That's right; with Vista Home Premiun upgrade paths are for Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate.
It is one of the reasons why you should do a clean install.
The other reason is that you can NOT put 32-bit to 64-bit.
You need a clean install to do.
Follow these steps before you install or buy Windows 7:
Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.
If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.
Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

Hello friendly folk,
I got a used HP Pavilion G6 - 1C40CA.
There was a clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
After searching around online, got a hint of what to do.
For Device Manager are missing or not that there is not (small yellow exclamation triangle):
Ethernet controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC & DEV_8136)
Network controller (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_14E4 & DEV_4727)
PCI device (Hareware ID: PCI/VEN_10EC & DEV_5209)
SM Bus controller (Hardware ID: PCI/VEN_1022 & DEV_780B)
As well as to find good downloads, I know not to order that I should be their installation (if there is a specific order at all), and if I have to restart every time that I have install something again.
If someone could be kind enough to drive me very precisely by the process? Pretty please? ^_^
Hello:
The first pilot, you need to install is for the smbus controller.
Download and install the amd chipset drivers and restart. You want the first file on the Web page.
http://support.AMD.com/en-us/download/chipset?OS=Windows%207%20-%2064
Here's the rest of the drivers you need in the order you posted the material ID's, and you can install them in an order any that you like...

Re: Satellite L650/0E8 - clean install with Windows 7 64 bit
Hello.
I recently bought a [Toshiba L650/0E8 laptop | http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/products/notebooks/satellite/l650/psk1ja-0e8017] and accidentally installed the 32-bit version of Windows 7.
I saved an image of "recovery" from my computer in 4 DVD-R using Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. I need to use Adobe Master Collection CS5, but this requires the 64-bit edition to use first Pro CS5 and After Effects CS5. I've put together by reading some articles on the net that I have to do a 'clean' install, but as I've always had a technician set up my computer and have never used a Toshiba laptop before, I'm unaware on how to backup all my files, programs, drivers, etc. before reinstall Windows 7 to a 64-bit version.
-What do these recovery DVD? Is there anywhere I can download the software/drivers for the 64-bit version Toshiba? I apologize if these questions sound really stupid. Honestly, I'm rather confused as to what to do.
Hey,.
First of all I have to say it s even though you created the Toshiba recovery disc as mentioned in the user manual. :)
Some other users here forget it because they don t read their user's manual.Anyway, with this record, you can restore the pre-installed Windows version (Windows 7 64 bit) with all the drivers and tools. That means you n t need additional drivers and Toshiba, all tools will be installed automatically. You get out of adjustment of the rear housing.
But if you use the Toshiba Recovery disk it will wipe the entire HARD drive, then you will need to make a backup of all your important files that you should always after installing Windows.
This is why I would recommend an external HARD drive. They offer a lot of space to save all your data and with some models, you also backup software, but you can also use the built-in Windows backup tool, it s also nice and works well.If you have any other questions, please let us know! ;)

Today, I bought and installed windows 7 32 bit as an upgrade from vista 32-bit, shortly after I spoke to my friend and he told me that I could have used the disk for 64-bit and Windows 7 64 bit instead, the problem now is that I can't find a way to remove windows 7 32 bits using other methods I've seen here as the file Windows.old, it isn't here. Also I cannot perform a clean Windows 7 32-bit to windows 7 64 bit installation because when I insert the disk it says that I need to boot from the disk, so I tried then whenever he says failed to load. IM fine with doing a clean install and losing what I have, because I have them the settings and files saved externally already so no need to save again.
Thank you very much

Looks like you're stuck with a clean install of Vista's original support for start.

In 2009, I upgraded my laptop from Vista to Windows 7 32 bit. This laptop recently died and is no longer in use.
I am building a new computer and I want to install it on Windows 7 64 bit (there no initial operating system because it is a made to measure machine). Can I install Windows 7 64 bit on the new machine and then use the old product key, that I received in 2009, even though it was a upgrade for the 32-bit product key?If its a version upgrade, the answer is no.
However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.
15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.
So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

When I searched on the drivers for all my machine, I get is an offer to scan for new.
I need to download and store all the appropriate drivers in order to reformat the hard drive and do a reinstall complete everything.
Where can I find my drivers?
Hello
All drivers and software available for download to your laptop can be found on the following link - ignore the option "Scan Now".
If you can still boot into Windows, another option is to save the swsetup folder at the root of the C drive - this will contain the installers for all the drivers and the software provided with your machine (the only exception is usually trial versions of MS Office).
Kind regards

Satellite L300 - clean install Win 7 SP1 64 bit
I just did a clean install of Windows 7 64-bit, replacing the normal 32-bit Vista that comes with the laptop.
The facility has been good, but I have a few questions about the following:
I adjusted the automatic run settings to ask every time for all selections. The problem is that when the game DVD in WMP or VLC disk reads but is noisy. It is very good for the s CD without excessive noise. The acoustic silencer on the download site is for 32-bit, but can be used in this laptop. In the original Vista there is no noise at all, so I wonder if there is other parameters that can sort this point, otherwise I'll have to keep changing things manually with the acoustic silencer.
I noticed a very low noise coming from laptop (like a lighter version of a business when you're boarding Jet it). I ran a video memory Stress Test CE and he showed a few errors. If I reduce the brightness of the screen there is less noise so I wonder if it's something to do with the Panel of inverter of screen I'm sure that's not the HARD drive or the cooling fan, but it could be something on the motherboard.
On the backup plan Acronis will slow down my system or are Win 7 OK backup options?
Thanks a lot for all the possible solutions to these problems.
A long time ago I've installed Win7 32 bit on friends Satellite L300. It worked perfectly. Much better than original Vista.
> I still don't know what is the best test for the screen.
I put t understand what kind of test do you mean. I hope that you have installed the right display driver and LCD works perfectly with a native resolution.Win7 recovery with Acronis image creation is, generally, the right decision. With this disc, you can install Win7 again and again very rapidly and you should not install every single driver separately.
If you want to keep this laptop any longer I think it is worth to buy it. One last thing: you will buy it once and you can use it in the future too if you decide to buy the new laptop or PC.

Recovery Manager HP dv7-1130el after a clean install of windows 7
I'll do a clean install of windows 7 32 bit from Vista Home premium 32-bit.
I would like to know if the Recovery Manager will continue to work, or might have a problem.
I found on the page of the HP software for windows 7 two patches for update Recovery Manager:
sp45823.exe who makes an upgrade (but not a clean install) and update generic sp44455.exe.
This second patch help me avoid problems later with Rec.Man when I do the clean install?
How should I do?
Could someone tell me a Board.
Thanks in advance.
Make your recovery Vista using Recovery Manager disk before installing 7. then it won't matter to have a functional recovery Manager since it is only to reinstall the original OS and programs. It has no function in windows 7 other than to go back to Vista, which can be done with your if necessary recovery discs.

Dell Studio XPS 435MT disk hard clean install of Windows Vista
My hard drive died on my Dell Studio XPS 435MT. I'm doing a clean install of Windows Vista 64 bit on my new HARD drive using DVD relocation provided by Dell with the PC.
(1) I am not able to boot from the CD/DVD player, where is the DVD of resettlement. I have set the priorities of boot and disabled the boot from the HDD. Whenever I try to boot from the CD/DVD drive, I gives me a message saying "no Diagnostic Utility Partition identified; Press a key to reboot... »
If I unplug the new HD, then, I am able to boot from the CD/DVD player and I can not for the Windows Setup screens. However, I can't then point nine hard disk installation.
(2) as I said, I am able to start Windows Setup screens when the HD is initially disconnected during startup. After I get to the Windows Setup screen I plug HD on the motherboard. The new HD must be recognized if I do this? Currently it is not.
(3) following the instructions here, I said I need to 'prepare a USB SATA key in advance.
http://dellwindowsreinstallationguide.com/a-clean-install-of-Windows/Windows-Vista-installation/
What drivers to I need? I tried the drivers at this link, but when I try to load them on the Windows installation screen I get a message saying that they can not be found.
Thank you.
I found this thread on the same subject. Unfortunately your BIOS update can be run from Windows, so that won't help. But down a suggestion to unplug and reconnect the hard drive. Looks like that might work for you.

You must install the following drivers in this order.

(Redirected) if I do a clean install of windows 10 with 64 bit OS?
I recently did a clean install of windows 10 using the tool of media (I updated to 10 before the clean install and used my product key). I noticed that he installed a 32-bit windows 10 OS. I believe that my laptop has a 64 core processor and I wonder if I should have installed a system of operating windows 64 bits instead of 32 bits. I also wanted to update my RAM memory, which now 6 GB (2,40 GB usable). I have 2 RAM sticks, one with 4 GB and one with 2 GB.
My questions are:
Should I do another clean installation with a 64 bit 10 OS?
My laptop is able to do this?
What is the maximum amount of RAM, this laptop can hold?

I'm doing a clean install of Windows 7 on a 32-bit computer
I have 8 window, that I don't like. I'm going back to windows 7. I have a disc. When I try to download, I get a message error-cannot update the installation files... How to do a clean install of Windows 7? my computer is 31 bits
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 7 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.
