Clean Windows Installer (Vista or XP) gel on 2nd screen

I'm going to re - build my old PC.  It was working perfectly fine on XP Pro.
I use the DVD of Vista Business to install a new installation of Windows from scratch.

The process starts on the DVD.
Then a gray screen "Windows is Loading files...". "Well
Then a black screen with a green scroll bar Microsoft Corporation...
And that's when the process crashes.

Simple IDE drive on primary, set as master.
DVD - RW single on secondary IDE, set as master.
MoBo SATA disabled.

Updated BIOS for later.
AMD Athlon 3200 + (400 FSB) with 2 GB of Ram.

I changed the DVD player.

It does not start even to the old XP Pro media.

Any ideas... P L E A S E!

Do not install an operating system is usually caused by (in order of probability):

1. you are trying to install with other devices connected to the computer. Unplug them before trying to make an installation.

2. "" "" defective installation media. "" Check the CD/DVD installation for scratches, tasks. Try another machine.

3. bad optical drive. Test with another CD/DVD bootable or Exchange for a well-known work.

4. faulty RAM. Test with Memtest86 + www.memtest.org . You will download the .iso image file to create a bootable cd. Burn the file with a third-party burning software - image, not in the form of data. Then start with the media that you did (you may need to change the boot priority in your BIOS so that the optical drive is the first boot device). The test runs immediately. The test run for an hour or two--at least that errors are seen immediately. If you get any errors, replace the RAM.

5. bad hard drive. Test with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr... You create a bootable CD with the files you download. Burn the file with a third-party burning software - image, not in the form of data. Boot with the CD that you have done and do a full test of the reader. The physical tests fail, replace it.

A good free choice for burning ImgBurn software comes from www.imgburn.com .

6. other hardware components are faulty. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • dm1z-3000 | SSD drive not found when cleaning Windows Installer

    Greetings-

Had this dm1z-300 in recent years. Works like a charm to destination (navigation, messaging, presentations). Wanted to inject some new life into it. Bought a 120 GB SanDISK SSD. Out of the old HD (5400 RPM SATA 3), SSD format on another machine (NTFS) before falling in the dm1z. Restarted with Windows 7 Pro Installer on USB. At through the early stages of Setup very well, but once he gets to the part of installation actually (i.e., where it starts to copy the files), I am told that "no hard drive have been found.

Drive is fine (tested using case of external hard drive on a couple of machines), so it's not the drive. Controller is fine, since everything works great if I put the old drive back in place.

So, what's the problem? Tried to jump into the BIOS to see if there was anything I needed to "change", but the BIOS on this machine is lower even rudimentary - there nothing I can find that transforms a HD (or most other devices, by the way), works.

    Suggestions?

    [SOLVED]

1\ put an SSD drive in the machine

    2 started GParted Live

3\ astonished all the partitions on the SSD drive - in other words, returend it completely unallocated State

4 restarted with the installer of Windows 7 on USB - which is now the disc.

So, apparently, formatting the drive * before * trying the Windows installation is causing problems. Of course, your results may vary.

Now, just to tweak the settings on the SSD, but at least I had a limiting step rather key (difficult to install a BONE when he does not see the drive!  ;-)

  • Unable to connect to the internet after the system restore and Windows Installer (Vista)

    Hello

I have recently restored the whole system on the HP to my sister a virus that I was unable to remove it manually.
The system restore went well until it has reached the point where he was going to reinstall Windows. The computer just turned itself off and the software installation was not complete. I am able to reinstall again. I must therefore hold the CTRL + alt + delete, go to Task Manager, click on audit.exe and complete the process to turn on the computer. But I can't do anything with it in safe mode. The main problem is: I can't connect to the internet! Even if the network discovery is on it will not find my wireless network. What can I do on the internet? And is it possible to install Windows again without the CD?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

    ·        You are able to boot to the desktop in normal mode? If this isn't the case, then you get any code or message?

    ·        How did you did system restore?

    ·        Are you referring to the system recovery using the recovery partition or the drive?

I suggest that you start in safe mode with network and check if you can access the internet?

  • Can I use Dell original product key to activate a clean Windows installation after I have replace/upgrade motherboard, processor and other key components?

I have a Dell computer, with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit installed in the factory. There is a product code for windows on the sticker on the box. My problem is that the motherboard and CPU are released. I intend to replace and update the motherboard failed and cpu, ram, power supply, optical drive and eventually put in a larger hard drive. From what I read, I can not simply start the machine with the original hard drive, with windows already installed and activated. So if I wipe the hard drive (or put it in a new), can I clean install Windows 7 and then just use the product key on the sticker on the box to activate the new installation? Or what I need to buy a new copy of Windows 7?

I've also read on other threads, that you can "transfer" a license of Windows 7 on a different machine only if it is a "commercial" version, not OEM. If the version of Windows that is preinstalled on a Dell computer would be "retail" or "OEM"? And to reactivate the software on a rebuilt/updated machine up-to-date with the new motherboard, etc. would constitute a 'transfer to a new machine' or reactivation just on a computer upgraded?

The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:

-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft

-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on

-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

-OEM versions does not move directly from an older Windows operating system

Because I had to replace the HARD drive, I also had to reinstall windows. I got a hold of a windows 8 detail picture, done in kind is not been tampered with and installed on the ultrabook using a generic key.

After completing the installation, I uninstalled the generic key and tried to install the OEM key that is embedded in the BIOS read by RW everything utility. So I have the key OEM, typed "slui 3' admin cmd, and now he tells me that he could not check the key."

    This is resolved.

  • During the installation of a program, receive the error message that Windows Installer is not installed properly on Vista

I tried to install a program and I got an error message that says "Windows Installer" is not installed correctly and I need to contact the support staff.  I get also a message when I log that says steetings.ini is occupied by another program and it will not allow the sidebar to come.

Try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility to troubleshoot the problem with Windows Installer:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml.

For the issue of the Sidebar, do a boot minimum http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135.  If the problem goes away then it's just a matter of tracking down the culprit at the origin of the problem.   Follow the procedures described in the article.  Once found, remove, delete, disable or uninstall.  Once remember to put Vista in normal status, as described in the procedures. If the problem occurs in clean mode then just restore the system to normal and reboot - this solution will not work.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows Installer is not correctly installed

While trying to install updates for Adobe Reader (current version is 9.3) failure, asking me to run Adobe Reader repair.  Then tells me that Windows Installer is not correctly installed or does not.  This is a 64-bit of Windows Vista Dell computer.  The same error message also appears with MS Office updates.

We will try to repair Windows Installer (I guess it was properly aiinstalle at a time or you would have had a lot of problems other software installation).  We will try the Windows Installer Cleanup utility at:http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml and see if that solves the problem.

If this does not work, what is the EXACT message you get on Windows Installer and when does it appear?  When the problem started?  Which version of Windows Installer you are using and which version has problems?  A new version has been installed recently, and it is this new version with the problem?  Which version of Vista you are using (for example, 32-bit Vista Business SP2)?  What are you installation requires Windows Installer, which causes this problem (name and version of the program)?

I hope this helps.  Keep me updated, and please answer my questions in your next reply if necessary.

  • Windows Installer 4.5 - "the windows service is not to be accessible.

I am trying to install Adobe Reader.  I get this Message: windows service could not be accessed.  This can happen if Windows install is not properly installed.  How can I solve this problem.

    Thank you

Download and run the tool Windows Install Cleanup http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Windows-Installer-CleanUp-Utility.shtml and see if that solves the problem.

If this does not work, download another copy - this copy may be impaired.  Save the download on your computer instead of just running.  When it is on the desktop, right-click on it and click Run as administrator, and see if that helps.

Where are you downloading from?  Get it directly from the Adobe site:http://www.adobe.com/.

Which version of Vista you are running, and all updates are installed including SP2?

Here is a link to the Adobe support for assistance to install Adobe products:http://www.adobe.com/support/reader/.'  Perhaps they can help you because it's their product and they know a lot more about it as we do.

  • Cannot install the update for Windows vista (KB2718704) a safe mode or after clean window reboot

I can't install the update for Windows vista (KB2718704), a mode without failure or after clean window reboot.

    What should I do?

    Hello

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You get the error message?

    ·         You are able to install other updates successfully?

    Follow these methods.

Method 1: Temporarily disable the security software .

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 2: Put the computer in a clean boot State to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow step 7 the link to start the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Method 3: You can also manually install updates (KB number) by downloading from the Microsoft Download Center.
