Clickable button inside the movie clip symbol?

I would like to know how I can have clickable buttons inside a movie clip symbol.

Your problem is mainly code compared to the location of objects location. When you start the file, the keys 1 to 8 are classified under code because they are visible, while the 9-11 thru buttons are not because they live in a non-current setting of the miniature timeline. When you switch to the side MORE things, these buttons is not any code assigned to them, and when you come back, the same is true for the first eight buttons because they were out of the picture and lost their connection to any code (the previous assignments have been already spent to frame 1 of the main timeline).

What you should probably do is locate your button code for frames where the buttons in the thumbnail movieclip. In this way, their code is always where they are. The code of the keys 1 to 8 will be in frame 1 of the miniature clip and the code for 9 to 11 will be in frame 2. You need to change the code for the form:

thumb1.onRelease = function() {}
_parent.gotoAndPlay("1");
};

And you're going to do you a favor if you do not use the numbers of the labels.

    Start from the beginning

    Press f8 and choose movieClip, then draw your button movie untoggled call then create another movie and create your button toggled or grayed button and call it greyedButton.  Go to the main stage add 2 instances of button and 2 greyedButton (just drag the library).  you have 4 instances on stage.  give the name of the instances of appeal and place them one over the other so you can see 2 buttons on the stage.  put the button greyed under the button.

    now with action script

    Since you will have a lot of cities, buttons boxesand sharing the same code, it is best to put all the code in the main storyline (the first image).

    If you write code at the beginning that refers to an object that is not currently part of the scene (such as a button that is located on the second frame of a movieclip, which has a code stop() on the first picture), this code never reached its target.

    Similar: If you catch a MouseEvent as onRelease at the parent level, the event is not registered for the child.

    You cannot reference an object until there are.  Thus, if a_btn is on the 2nd frame of a_mc, you must wait until this 2nd frame plays before trying to refer to a_mc.a_btn.

    If not, put a_btn on the first image and set its visible property to false in the first frame and true as part of the 2nd.  Then you can use your current code and duplicate the design you are trying to achieve by moving the button on the 2nd frame.

    I'm developing some kind of film where the image scrolls around. That works, but when I try to define some hotspots on this by adding buttons to the movieClip that I can't respond to the action of reversal (onRelease and delivery) it is already used by the main movieClip.
    Any ideas on a work around?

    You must remove all mouse managers assigned to all clips of ancestor. Use a loop and hittests to replace all these managers of mouse you have deleted.

    your movieclip (or a parent) who plays on the main timeline or is loaded by your swf.  If you load this movieclip (published as a swf file), you can be sure that your movieclip (or a parent) is the culprit.

    Use the movie Explorer to find all instances of your movieclip using the library for this movieclip name.  If that does not reveal the culprit, you have either made a mistake in your search or if you have a movieclip in doubles.

  • Should I only use ActionScript with movie clip symbols

    You can also use button symbols. Depending on the version of
    ActionScript you are using, you can generate these symbols (but no chart
    symbols) entirely by the code. If you have a little flexibility.

    A clip would be the best choice, Yes. If you create the three
    time of symbols - a clip, a button and a graphic - and drag them
    on stage, you'll notice that only the clip and button will be
    allow you to give them names of instance with the property inspector. It's the
    name of the instance which allows ActionScript to 'talk' to these symbols by name.
    Graphic symbols do not for example names, then they are not programmable.

    artworkmovie.nextButton should work.  Make sure you have the name of button assigned to each keyframe in the movieclip.

    What about the fact that you have a problem with?  Do you know how to code a button? If Yes, you can program the button in the main timeline so that all you have to do a gotoAndStop() command is used...  In the main scenario where there is the mc...

    So, I have a table containing the names of occurrence of some movie clip symbols... I want to catch a random and perform operations above.

    So, I put a table with string names and grab one at random.

    I then used track to make sure that I'm grabbing the name correctly... it is for me the names...

    I then try set the x and y property

    I get this error when running:
    Cannot create the x on string property

    I tried to store only the clips themselves as objects but it wrong as well.

    Is there a way to store the objects themselves in the table, or is it possible to convert this string to the object.

    you need to store the instance name of the MC as you have in the second version here, as in:

    var log_array:Array = [truckStop_mc, blackJack_mc];

    ... However the RND formula should be adjusted to:

    Index number: var = Math.round (Math.random () * (log_array.length-1));

    ... And when you set properties on an MC XY, you need a stroke of underscores, differeing from the XY of an object property, as in:

    log_array [index] ._x = 399,4;
    log_array [index] ._y = - 3;

    Unfortunately, it really isn't that you can do. You could make a new project and put just the clips that need to be more strong in there, then set volume as loud as it goes, then export than as a video, and then import that new video in your regular project (except that it is strong this time) and you can increase the volume at maximum again. If all goes well, which should help. However, the quality may be slightly reduced.

    This is actually a limitation of InDesign. You cannot add a button to a MSO that points to a different MSO.
