Clicking HP deskjet D5560

My printer makes a clicking noise before each printing. The noise comes from the right inside of the machine looking from the front (the area is ink nozzel cleaning area).

There is no paper jammed anywhere. The prints are great. The noise occurs whenever a new job is sent to the printer, and when it ceases to halfway through a job when you use the manual duplex system.

The sounds of noise sound like a ratchet / clicking as if a cog (!) tried to enlist.

I slipped the different moving parts in the nozzle cleaning area back and all seem fine.

This printer is out of warranty, but had minimal use.

What can I do to fix this before something physically breaks?

OK, it seems that the printer can have wither a piece or a paper jam inside the machine. I suggest to call HP @8004746836 and see what options we have to replace or repair the unit.

    Hi @dcm85,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that you try to restore your printer HP Deskjet D5560 on Mac OS X 10.10. And I'm happy to help you!

This printer doesn't have full feature software and drivers HP for this operating system. It uses the built-in driver supplied with the operating system. I recommend you to go through this guide to install a printer Mac driver by using Apple Software Update, and if you want you can download the driver directly from Apple, on this website, HP v3.1 for OS X printer drivers.

Hope this information solves your problem and have a nice day!

  • Mac: Problem related to the HP Deskjet D5560 printer

Hi, I have successfully installed my new HP Deskjet D5560 printer on my Macbook Pro. But I can't stay connected to the printer when I use internet or I can not connect to the printer if im connected to my wireless internet.

To connect to my printer I have to click airport in the notification area high on the page, then select "hpsetup" in the devices section. This disconects me from the internet.

It is said in the network settings

"The airport has the 169.254.246.xxx of auto assigned IP address and won't be able to connect to the Internet."

Please help because I need to be able to stay connected to the internet and print at the same time.

Ive been working on the issue. For anyone having the same problem, follow these easy steps.

    (1) make sure wireless is enabled (the blue led is on), then hold down the silver button that has an arrow pointing down, about 3 seconds.

    (2) the printer will print a few pages of stats and look for the SSID address or a network. It will be something like 168.0.124.xx ect.

    (3) type this number in your web browser, such as safari, IE ect. It will open a page to do with your printer. Open the network tab, and then run the Network Wizard.

    (4) select your wireless internet connection and put the password, for example WEP or WAP ect. You will then be able to use your printer and internet through your normal internet connection.

Hope it makes sense, and if it isn't, answer and I'll go through more carefully.

    Good luck

  • Deskjet D5560 printer

My D5560 printer print a Word document on the right side of the paper. that is, it is justified to the right, and the right side of the document is on the right side of the page. The document prints OK on another printer. I tried to print the document on Windows 7 and Windows 8 from PC different, but all attempts to produce the same result. It doesn't seem to be a printer setting to allow that to happen? The problems seems to be with the printer and not the operating system or the driver.

    Any ideas?

    Hi Bruce,.

I wish we could have had more success.  I think we tried everything to implement and it's been nice working with you.  You are probably right, and the only solution at this point would be to replace the printer.

  • DeskJet HP 2542: hp 2540 won't print documents from the computer, but test print and network configuration page

My printer hP model 2540 series deskjet A9U27A not print from my computer. It passes over the Network Setup page test, also has good test print. The printer is set up wireless. Have you tried the scan and printing doctor, but it says there is a software problem. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software with the original disc, then provided with the software most up-to-date of HP. I did this step several times. Tried several drivers. Tried a static IP address. I'm through with this printer. have also tried to this cycle. Also tried to reconfigure the system. Nothing seems to work. NOTE: When I got this printer I got the same problem, but since it was under warranty Hp remotely solved the problem. They said that the issue was the software so they installed a kind of universal software. Can someone get to the challenge to help me solve the problem printer? Thanks in advance for any help.

So after a search much more, someone else came up with a solution to my problem. For windows users, it is a question of the evolution of the drivers. A specifically. The 990c driver. I'm not sure of the exact user or the subject header, but it goes like this for windows vista.

    1. click on start

    2. click on Control Panel

    3. click on printers

    4. right click on the printer in question

5 point to run as administrator, and then click Properties

    6. click on continue

    7. click on advanced

    8. click on new driver

    9. click on next

    10. click on HP under manufacturer

    11. under printers, click HP deskjet 990c

    12. click on next

    13. click on finish

    14. click on apply

    15. click on ok to close

This is very similar for all windows programs operating.

with a little research, you will be able to find the exact measurements for each operating system

Hope this helps all who have the same problem

  • DeskJet 6540 not recognising installation of duplexer ph5712

    Hello

Summary of the problem: I bought a duplexer ph5712 to work with my Deskjet 6540. 65xx Deskjets are listed as compatible on the ph5712 box. My operating system (Windows 7 RC1 x 64) does not recognize the presence of the duplex unit, even when I manually put the setting duplex unit installed in the properties of the printer and the printer are in Control Panel > printers & devices not installed to the Installed State. The duplexer is compatible with my printer, but it seems to be invisible to my printer and operating system. Here's a longer explanation of what I've done so far.

I have a Deskjet 6540 who has always worked very well. I recently bought a ph5712 duplexer. The duplexer has been installed quickly and immediately, I tried a double-sided printing in Win7 x 64 RC1 using a multi-page document in Word 2007 SP2. To print I clicked on print, then went in the properties and choose duplex printing in the drop-down box. I then in the same window below the drop-down list to change the setting to print 2 sides of manual, automatic, but automatic was not available. Then, the document printed with manual duplex printing. The printer driver is unclear of the duplex unit.

Then I'm gone in done printers & devices, right click on Deskjet 6540, selected printer properties, click the device settings tab. Under the heading Installation Options, I saw that duplex unit has been set to not installed. I changed to installed and tried again the above printing method. This time, automatic was available to choose for printing 2 sides. When printing, I got an error message indicating that the printer does not have a duplex unit installed and offered to print with manual duplex printing. I cancelled and the printer to check the connection between the duplex unit and the printer off.

I pulled the duplexer from the back of the printer to check to see if the electrical interface on the duplex unit that connects to the printer has tape on it or something to protect it during transport. I did it with the understanding that if there is not a successful connection between the duplex unit and the printer then the printer and the OS do not know that the duplex module has been installed. There was no tape, the connection was fine and appearred to be complete. However I noticed that the duplexer had 4 points of contact, while the printer was only two, which suggests maybe the duplexer is not made to interface with this printer. However, I realize that this duplex module is designed for several models of printers, then perhaps this particular printer model uses only two contact points. The box of the duplexer is said expressly that is compatible with the 65xx Deskjet printers, yet I can't get the printer (or maybe Win 7) to recognize the duplexer is installed. An incorrect interface has been installed on my DJ 6540? I can provide pictures if that helps.

I tried the method of printing, this time with Adobe Reader 9.0.1 so nothing doesn't. Still, the automatic option was unavailable for printing option 2 faces. I went to the properties of the printer in Control Panel > printers & devices and this time it would not let me change duplex unit installed not installed to installed. Is there a driver problem?

Any recommendations? Otherwise the printer works fine in Win 7 and has always worked in x 64 Vista and XP. This is the first time I've ever had problems with it.

    EDIT: Added some info.

    EDIT: Revised for clarity.

EDIT: It seems that every time I change installed Duplex not installed to installed, then go to print in one program, select properties and select in the drop-down box, installed Duplex duplexing varies automatically installed to not installed. This suggests that the printer driver communicates with the printer and the printer responds that the duplexer is not installed. Thus, it appears as the root of the problem is that the printer or the printer driver does not recognize the duplexer. Is there a utility available that will allow me to speak with the firmware to see if it is the printer or the printer driver who thinks that the duplexer is not installed? And is it possible for me to say if the duplexer is DOA (dead on arrival, a faulty device)?

A phone call with things cleared up HP technical support. It turns out that the only printer that they currently have "compatible with Windows 7" is the Photosmart C4700 and automatic duplex printing does not work on it even if she has a duplexer and he is allegedly "compatible". So, essentially, that HP has suggested that I have to buy a new printer then, get this, I still can't have automatic duplex printing. Pure genius on their part. They were friendly enough, but their support persons were predictable as helpless as the others I've met. I have a feeling that if Win 7 is released to the general public next month that their drivers Win 7 will allow this unit front back working as it should. I can only hope, of course, because it's too late to go back.

  • HP F4580: Printer does not print wireless

    Hi there, can you help?

I have a HP F4580 which will only print with the wire attached to my computer printing and the custom of my laptop either.  Ive done all the tests and it won't always feel. What should I do next?  TIA

    Hey there @Listento!

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!

I would be happy to help with your HP Deskjet F4580, and wireless printing.  I can give you some suggestions that will hopefully solve the problem!

If the printer wireless light blue which indicates its connected to the network.  I suggest to reconfigure the connection of the printer to the router to connect.  Once the printer is connected to the network then you can try to add the printer to the computer using the HP software.

You will need to remove the printer from the computer first.  To do this, you will need to go into devices and printers from the start menu.

To remove the device from the computer:

    1. click on the start icon

    2. click on devices and printers on the right column

    3 select your printer

    4. click on remove the device at the top of the window

    5. unplug the USB cable

    6 restart the computer

To reconfigure the Deskjet F4580 Wireless:

    1. power cycle the printer and make sure that the USB cable is NOT connected at this time.

    2. install the HP software CD into the computer (if you don't have it click here: Deskjet F4580 Software)

    3. follow the installation of the software

    4. There should be an option to set up WiFi

    6. it will check the network environment and then ask you to connect the USB cable

    7. connect the printer via the USB port and follow the installation of WiFi program

    8. at the end it should ask you to remove the USB key and print a test page

To add the printer to the laptop:

    1. install the HP software in the computer CD (if you don't have it click here: Deskjet F4580 Software)

    2. follow the installation of the software

    3. to find the printer on the wireless network

    4. follow the software configuration and test printing

Please post back and let me know if this worked for you!

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 only N911n part superior print first page of some applications

Unfortunately, I spent much more time that this printer is worth trying to run so I am with regard to the experts.

I have a HP Officejet Pro N911n of 8600 installed as a shared printer on the Standard Win2008R2, trying to run on a box of Win7 Pro. Initially, it would only print characters scrambled on the top line and will be continually. I searched through the advice and have not found a solution that will help. I have reset printer back to the default settings, settings reconfigured network and he has been able to print from some points, but not the others. example: works of Adobe Reader, but not from Outlook 2010.

I tried all the options Proccesor and several other drivers including Universal, I connected TCP/IP directly from Win7, tried XP.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Todd

I noticed that you have tried things and different drivers. A suggestion, I would add would try all software uninstall and reinstallation.

Another driver, you can try to download to help would be a pilot 990c
    1. click on Start Menu
    2. click on devices and printers
    3. Add a printer
    4. Add a LOCAL printer
    5. choose the port existing (the port that the printer is connected too)
    6. choose (HP), right column, click HP DeskJet 990c, if it is not listed, update windows CLICKL, then try to find him after it updates.

Let me know if this can help, thank you.

  • How to print back to the T-shirt iron-on paper?

I was looking for a method to print to the rear.  I T-shirt iron - on paper, but to make it work, the characters must be printed backwards, to the mirror-image format.

In this way, when the page of iron is used, mailbox transfer for the T-shirt properly and can be read normally.

    I have a HP OfficeJet 6500 E710a.

The only way I can think is to print on a transparency, and then use the copy to the printer function to copy backward, on the page of iron.

Is it possible to make the printer actually print the characters backwards?

    Thank you very much.

    Alex

OK, you can install another driver as follows: go devices and printers folder, right click on the HP Officejet 6500 and select properties from the Printer Ports and see which port is affected.  Make a note of the port, and then click Cancel.  Now click on add a printer, Stop, the printer that I want isn't listed, add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, then use an existing port, (select the port found earlier), next.  At this point, click on Windows Update in the lower right and wait a few minutes for the list to repopulate.  During the updating of the list, select HP (Hewlett-Packard no) for the manufacturer and the HP Deskjet 6500, and then click Next, finish.  You can now right-click the Deskjet 6500 and select Printing Preferences.  Select the appropriate paper type, and then select Finish and the Mirror Image box, click apply.

You can now select the Deskjet 6500 to print the mirror image.
