  • HP Deskjet 5550 with Windows XP Mode

    Hello

It drives me crazy. I have an old HP Deskjet 5550 printer which I used to use on my Windows XP Dell laptop. I just bought a Dell Inspiron 17 with Windows 7 Professional. I installed Windows XP Mode as well.

I try to install my old HP Deskjet 5550 in my new computer laptop. Just after I installed the software, it worked on Windows 7 and XP Mode. Once I reboot, it no longer works. I worked on this problem for several days now and this morning I tried again and all of a sudden, the printer worked on the side Windows 7 without any problem. But when I tried to use it on Windows XP Mode, it did not work.

I called Dell Support and they have taken control of my laptop and worked on the problem, but could not understand how to operate on Windows XP Mode either. They asked me to call HP and I did, they could not solve the problem either.

I've looked everywhere and almost all users have the problem using an old printer HP Windows 7 and not Windows XP Mode. But for me, it's the opposite. It is very strange for me.

Anyone know how to fix this? I have the CD that came with the HP printer and have tried to install and uninstall the software, the problem persists.

Suggestions or comments are much appreciated.

    Thank you.

Ok. I don't know what is happening. I changed the port numbers as I posted and I changed to a port called TS001 PRN8 and I tried to print something and it WORKED!

But I tried this port before and it didn't work. I restarted my XP Mode and test the printer again, and it still works. I am therefore very well so far.

If the problem comes back, I'll post it again here.

    Thank you.

  • Deskjet 9300 with Windows 7

My new pc has Windows 7 (home premium) and I want to keep my old Deskjet 9300 printer. I read the posts here and the HP article "installing the printer with year Alternate Driver in Windows 7 for a USB connection cable.

When the 9300 has been set up on the old computer (Win XP) six years ago, we used a parallel cable.   I think that the new computer wants a USB connection. The said online manual insert the cd and follow the steps to select usb or parallel. I don't have the software cd. Is it possible to make this work? Download the software? The other pilot requires a usb connection?  Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi, swiss95

I've addressed your issue and you want to guide you with the solution to the problem you are having with.
First thing, you need to use the USb cable for computer connection and printer.
Second thing, there is no complete software functionality and the drivers for the Deskjet 9300 series printer compatible with windows 7.
This is why you can use the driver replacing and no suite of comprehensive features would be available.
To load the driver replacing, you can try the procedure available in the link below.
    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c01796821
Also if the replacement for Deskjet 9300 driver does not work then you can remove the other pilot in the devices folder and printers and can try and load another driver replacing named Deskjet 6980 with the same steps of loading of the driver substitute but instead of selecting the printer deskjet 1220C select Deskjet 6980 and install it and try and print a test page and check the result.

    Wish you all the best.
Click on Bravo if the problem is resolved and if need assistance, you can write to the same mission.

  • Installation of Lightroom 4 with Windows XP Preofessional

Download went normally, but then some problem with Windows install and di installation not conclude. What should I do? Thank you

Personally, I think it's rude to Adobe not to mention that you can't pass on an XP machine that has worked well with LR 4.  I discovered the hard way.  And it is not reasonable to expect a user to read the hardware requirements for an upgrade to a product that is installed.  The software manufacturer must report the problem.

  • Installation of Vista SP1 with Windows Disk

My computer (hp slimline s3773w) would never let me install the sp1.  I bought from a disk to install the sp1, but I him did not because of too much to lose.  What would be the best way to get sp1 is installed on my computer.  This is the full version of windows vista and not an upgrade.

I wouldn't use the disc to do this.  I would download SP1 from Microsoft to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/bb738089.aspx and simply download and install it.  Until you do, run Windows update to make sure you're ready for Sp1 and up to date.  Once you have installed SP1 and updates with Windows Update - then and there will be a lot more and download and install them as well.  When you are finished you can then download and install SP2 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a4dd31d5-f907-4406-9012-a5c3199ea2b3&DisplayLang=en.  Once done, yet once run Windows unsuccessfully to catch up on what youv'e missed since SP2 has been relased and then you should be completely up to date.

    I hope this helps.

  • Problem using the serial port with windows 7

    Hello

I have a modem of SIM cards (used to update remote controller of the electronic gate) that connects to my computer via the serieal port (COM1).

The modem comes with its own piece of software that worked fine on my old computer with windows 7 (I had a similar problem, but then I just need to update the driver).

I now have a new computer and I am unable to connect using the modem (I think I'm using the latest drivers for the serial port).

Is it possible that I need an older version? If so, how can I get a?

My motherboard is a GIGABYTE H81M-D2V.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you

    AVI

    Hi Avi,

Thank you for the update on the issue.

The UART, or Universal Asynchronous Receiver / Transmitter, is a characteristic of your microcontroller useful to connect serial data (text, numbers, etc.) to your PC. The unit switches incoming parallel information (in the microcontroller/PC) to series data that can be sent over a communication line.

According to the description you provided it seems that your modem isn't connecting with your Windows 7 computer, then I would contact Duetech Berès your modem manufacturer, so that they provide you with the steps to set it up.

Get back to us after contacting them and please get back to us with your question was last updated.

    Kind regards.

  • Problems streaming to the PC with Windows 8.

    Hi all

I had a domestic network set in place on my PC running windows 7 and have been streaming videos from my PC to my WD Live with no problems. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 and have put up the network with the same settings. My WD Live can connect to the network and browse files on the PC without any problem. However, once I have started playing the files they are unstable and very bad. It seems that there is some compatibility or speed problem on Windows 8, which is different from Windows 7, but I can't work on it.

If someone has come across something like this before? I see no reason why it should not work as before, the only change is the version of Windows.

    Arturo.

Concerning the long connection times, have you tried to use the network (such as Wireshark) packet capture software to determine that the client computer when a connection attempt is initiated?

The Oracle database time can help the model statistics and wait events extensive system you diagnose performance problems related to poor (you should not only look at the statistics, but rather capture the current values, wait a while, statistics capture again and compare the evolution of the values of the statistics). A statspack report may also help - but a trace 10046 to level 8 or 12 is more appropriate if you are able to identify a few sessions that have performance problems.

I claim not just blindly changing the settings, even if I'm curious about:
    * Why the session level setting OPEN_CURSORS is set to 5000 - you expect a single session to hold cursors open 5,000?
    * Why do you use the obsolete RULE based optimizer?
    * Why the MEMORY_TARGET parameter is used when the target SGA_TARGET and PGA_AGGREGATE are specified?

I understand that you meet your HP Deskjet printing problems in advantage 4510 series e-all-in-one printer to your computer Windows 8.1. You have included a large number of useful information in your post, so thank you. After reviewing the troubleshooting you have already finished, I came to the conclusion that what you feel is a conflict of driver on your computer Windows 8.1. To fix this please follow the steps below.

    How to add another driver:

    1. Open the Start screen (by selecting the windows start button in the lower left corner or by selecting the "Windows" button at the bottom left of your keyboard to the left of the 'Ctrl' key
    2. In the start screen, type "Devices and printers"
    3. If the option devices and printers automatically fills, click settings at the top right and then click on devices and printers.
    4. In the devices and printers folder right click on your series Deskjet 4510 and left click on printer properties
    5. Left click on the Advanced tab
    6. Left-click on new driver
    7. When the new window driver opens just hit 'next' until you see a list of manufacturers on the left and a list of printers on the right.
    8. Select HP as the manufacturer on the left
    9. DeskJet 9800 select the printer on the right. If Deskjet 9800 is only select "Windows Update" at the bottom left and once the update has been completed, you will be able to select Deskjet 9800.
    10. After selecting Deskjet 9800 hit next complete the new driver Wizard
    11. Under the printer properties window, select 'Apply' but do not hit OK
    12. Select the general tab
    13. Rename your printer in HP Deskjet 4510
    14. Click OK
    15. Finally, right-click on your Deskjet 4510 series once more and click on Printing Preferences
    16. Left click on the paper/quality tab
    17. Left click on the dropdown 'Normal' for the print quality down to the right and change its normal fast
    18. Press apply and OK
    19. Try to print!
